I watched KPop Demon Hunters this weekend. It was surprisingly … not bad.
The songs are of course terrible and diabetes-inducing, with the exception of the last one (which is surprisingly good with intelligent lyrics). The story was pretty good, with interesting backstories and characters you actually cared about. While it's clearly aimed at tween girls who take KPop bands seriously, there's also jokes and parodies of pop bands that mature adults will understand. If you stripped away all the tween-targeted syrupy material, and remade the movie for a more mature audience, it would be really good. 331 Or another idea nobody ever thinks of. Fix their own countries BAMN.
------ Some day I'd like to read a real break-down on just how far from fixable Mexico really is. "Back in the day" I used to read reports how an incredibly small number of families owned more than 80% of the economy. That was a decade or two ago. I imagine with the cartels and the marxism that situation has only gotten worse. Its my non-statistical guess that the only way to "fix" Mexico would be through a complete overthrow of the government, and those only seem to happen FROM the Marxists and not TO the marxists. Posted by: Crusader at October 13, 2025 11:58 AM Watch the movie Cartel Land (2015). Drinker's review of it is pretty great. You can have girl protagonists that aren't girlboss boring, who knew? Even the sugarcoated pop songs in the show have deeper meanings, I thought that was cool. The Huntrix songs are secretly about killing demons, and the demon band's songs are about consuming souls. They further the plot. And yes, there's a lot of parody of kpop bands and the pop groups to laugh at, while they also have love for them. It had to carefully balance a lot of tricky things and did it well. Have you heard the wild backstory about the album? Sony movies and Sony music are two companies under one parent company. Sony movies carefully crafted the perfect soundtrack, and then Sony music passed on the rights to it. The rights got bought by a smaller music company with some involvement in the soundtrack. Whomever made that decision at Sony music should be fired. Think of the millions Sony music lost in music right a cause they passed it up! It is to laugh. I've just watched about 10 minutes of Trump's address to the Knesset. Anyone thinking he is going to be shuffling off this mortal coil from dementia is mistaken. This was the Trump of old: lucid (for him), concise (for him) and in clearly touch with his audience.
It's not Stephen Miller who is perpetrating monstrous evil against the United States, it's Trump himself, and his cruelty knows no bounds. Sadly, I have to agree. Yes, he outsources a lot of the nitty gritty to equally repulsively cretins like Miller, mainly because he's either too lazy or too stupid to handle the details. But he absolutely knows what he's doing. I couldn't watch. His voice, for me, sounds like someone scraping their fingernails down a chalkboard, it sends shivers down my spine. He is also insecure and scared which makes him over the top evil. He's also jealous of Pres Obama and Pres Biden. He is not loved, they just tolerate him, the RWers are prepping Vance. I call the effect "Debate Donny". No idea whether it’s a double, android, stimulant cocktail, etc. But I recall the accusations of Biden using performance enhancing drugs. Every accusation is an admission. Posted by: Intercepted DU Transmissions brought by the Intrepid AoS Liaison at October 13, 2025 12:26 PM (ycI94) 92

I may also try to watch some of the videos online this winter after reading about the following scientific study mentioned on Wikipedia: "In the 1980s, researchers at Loma Linda University used Gallagher's comedy to study laughter's effect on the body. Taking blood samples from ten medical school students while they watched Gallagher in action, the researchers observed the subjects' white blood cells increasing. The scientists said that laughing appeared to have boosted their immune systems." Posted by: Kathy at October 13, 2025 12:26 PM (zuKcR) 96

Where do people get this shit? I'm 99.999% certain neither Trump nor Musk ever went to the island. Musk was at a Vanity Fair event and Jizzlane photobombed him. Trump used to let Epstein hang around, but kicked him out of Mar a Lago when Epstein hit on an underaged girl. Trump also flew on Epstein's plane from FL to NY once or twice. Mega rich people like Trump who have mega rich acquaintances with planes fly around on other people's planes all the time. It's normal for them. Some of this is good for Israel, much of it is bad. Whatever Iran agreed to... it has a possible shelf life of three years. The ceasefire could be over in three days, or three months, but three years is the outside maximum. I think the Iranian play here might be to wait and see if they can get a Democrat President to have fun with in '28. But they can't wait longer, and let a new status quo between Israel and the Arab States to solidify. That's the whole reason 10/7 happened in the first place. Nobody gives a fuck about Palis, least of all Iran. If they get a President Ocasio-Cortez or whomever, great. But even if it's a President Vance or whomever, they still have to go back in. Best wishes for a relatively quick and pain free recovery! As part of my cancer treatment, I had an RPLND surgery. They gut you like a fish, dump your intestines on your chest, and cut stuff out of the back of your abdomen from the inside. A year or two later, I had an obvious hernia in the incision site from the RPLND and had to get it fixed. The doctor who fixed it found many small hernias with a mesh matrix. He compared it to Swiss cheese. Everything's good now, but when I twist and turn I can feel the mesh a little bit in my stomach area. It's ... weird. I’m probably the only person who cares but I watched a college football game Saturday night… Georgia vs Auburn and I’m not a fan of either team but the officiating was absolutely horrid and ridiculous. They can’t even get things right with instant replay. They took away an obvious touchdown from Auburn and directly caused them to lose. Plus constant stoppages for instant replay… I’ve very to despise the announcement: The previous play is under review

Degaulle's line " treaties are like little girls and roses, they last as long as they last " applies here. Islam says anyone who isn't a follower is an infidel. Infidels must be killed, converted or enslaved. They want a one world caliphate. This agreement is a snapshot in time that will last as long as the parties think it's in their interest. If another Islamic fundamentalist movement arises things change Posted by: Smell the Glove at October 13, 2025 12:40 PM (L1Wxc) As Bethmann-Hollweg said - they're just scraps of paper. But you expect the paper to last longer than a blink of an eye. Which is all this is. They should call it the Augenblick Accords. And it won't take any new Islamic fundamentalist movement to sweep it away. It was struck with an existing, aggressive, expansionist Islamic fundamentalist movement that feels backed into a corner. As soon as they can find a way to start the festivities, they will. Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at October 13, 2025 12:50 PM (BI5O2) 239

This was way back, and Pearl Jam was supposed to open for them but "Even Flow" had just become a hit so they left the tour abruptly to headline their own show. I suppose, in a way, he did in that there would have been no need for a peace deal. In Trump's first term he cut off all financial aid to Gaza. Biden quickly restored that aid and added to it immediately upon taking office while simultaneously financing the Iranians. Those funds allowed Hamas (thru Iran) to initiate their 10/7 massacre. So, yeah, Biden was only responsible for today's peace deal in that he set up the scenario to require a peace deal in the first place. You know who was actually delightful live, before he turned fat and satanic? Sam Smith. I went to his concert with a friend and it was very fun. He has a really great voice live, and he was just a nice gay bloke putting on a fun show you could take grandma to. Nice sharp suits, clean crisp staging. Then, post covid, he want bloated and demonic. I'm still jarred by it. They say when young gay men hit their sexual shelf life they have a raging mid life crisis. I wonder it that's connected to the "unholy" satanic break Sam Smith had from sanity. The sad thing is, if he changes back to the nice bloke act tomorrow, he's lost all those grannies and the top 40 audience. They don't want any part of his schtick now. I've got the same problem, but I don't blame Apple, I blame the left for forcing people to use janky ad networks that overload pages with scripts and videos. You could try the Brave browser, if you're not already, but as I recall it wouldn't work on my phone for the front page either. Works on an iPad with Brave and set to allow the ads, though. It takes a little more time for the ads to load, but it's good to go after that. Even my PC bogs down on the front page and the fans go off like a vacuum cleaner. It's not just an iPhone problem. A counter SB lineup of Kid Rock, Five For Fighting, All That Remains, a bunch of Country Acts and opening and closing with The Anthem and Lee Greenwood, G-d Bless The USA, will attract about 30 pct of the country.

Oh, and how do we feel about the TPUSA alternative superbowl lineup with Kid Rock as the headliner? Will it be a good show?
Posted by: LizLem at October 13, 2025 01:11 PM (gWBY1) I don't much care about it. If it peels off NFL Stupor Bowl viewership then I will consider it a net positive. But those who would be inclined to watch the TPUSA alternative should stop watching (and supporting) all NFL activity. Many who claim rock solid conservative bona fides seem to throw those out the window when MUH SPORTSBALL is at risk. Posted by: Football uber alles at October 13, 2025 01:20 PM (TbWk/) 385
I always feel sad for some of these guys. But the most pathetic thing is where a once famous band has like the bass player as the only remaining player and they still can call it that.
Posted by: Minnfidel at October 13, 2025 01:16 PM (ewjUl) For some, a guy who played keyboards on a couple albums is touring with a bunch of kids in the band, and then the drummer is touring somewhere else, calling HIS band the real thing. Posted by: BurtTC at October 13, 2025 01:20 PM (RkhkS) 386

Santa Clara is one of the first law schools to publish 2026-27 tuition. Historically, Grad PLUS loans have had no limits. Starting next year, professional school borrowing will be capped at $50k/year. Notice anything about the trend in tuition? I expect many schools to copy this. Santa Clara going from $63,000 per year to $50,000 per year is a 21% drop in price in one year. The inflation in higher ed is suddenly becoming deflation. Very suddenly. I have little doubt that the top-level Democrats don't know what they are doing. And they know how stupid and oblivious the people they can reach are.
Sometimes, though, even top-level Democrats act like they are stuck in a loop and dug in and can't stop themselves. Posted by: Axeman at October 13, 2025 01:15 PM (krQz2) Almost as if evil oft will evil mar. They really can't help themselves at this point. The Democrats are staking-out positions for which there are no rational arguments. * Cut off the breasts and sew-up the vaginas of girls, and castrate boys. * Prioritize illegal migrants rather than native-born poor people. * Kill pre-born babies. * Distribute sexually-explicit materials to elementary-aged children. All of those actions harm people and are positively evil. Posted by: Retired Buckeye Cop is now an engineer at October 13, 2025 01:24 PM (pJWtt) 403

-John Ford upon watching Howard Hawks' Red River Posted by: TheJamesMadison Mebbe, just never cared for the genre as such. When I was a kid, those movies were on endless reruns on Saturdays and Sundays along with endless western series like Gunsmoke, etc. And Wayne outside of his genre wasn't that compelling on screen. Nothing like Jimmy Stewart, and a bit like how Cary Grant typecast himself after Notorious and his Penny Serenade movie. Something like Winchester 73's performance by Stewart was probably beyond Wayne's acting skills or desire to play such a character. But Grant could play light comedy like few others could match.
