The White House announced Wednesday it is cancelling $8 billion in green energy funding amid the Democrat-caused government shutdown. OMB Director Russ Vought said the cuts target "Green New Scam" programs in blue states, following an earlier move to halt $18 billion in New York City infrastructure projects.

President Trump told reporters on Tuesday that his administration wanted to avoid a shutdown, blaming Democrats for blocking a clean continuing resolution passed by House Republicans that maintained existing, previously agreed-upon funding levels.

Trump is meeting with Vought to decide which agencies to slash next.

President Donald Trump posted on Truth Social that he would be meeting with Vought "to determine which of the many Democrat Agencies, most of which are a political SCAM, he recommends to be cut, and whether or not those cuts will be temporary or permanent." Trump added, "I can't believe the Radical Left Democrats gave me this unprecedented opportunity. They are not stupid people, so maybe this is their way of wanting to, quietly and quickly, MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DJT."

While the government may be shut down, deportations are continuing. Trump secured full funding for ICE in a previous bill.

Even with the government shut down, ICE agents aren't stopping. "We will continue to remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens," DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin said Wednesday, crediting President Trump's "One Big Beautiful Bill" for ensuring deportations and law enforcement operations stay fully funded and active nationwide.
Key Details:
McLaughlin told the Daily Caller News Foundation that ICE operations would not pause "despite a lapse in funding," stressing that violent offenders -- including rapists, murderers, and terrorists -- would still be removed from the country.
The Department of Homeland Security cited the One Big Beautiful Bill, President Trump's sweeping reform package, as the reason ICE is able to continue hiring, training, and deploying law enforcement nationwide.
On Tuesday alone, ICE agents arrested multiple convicted illegal migrants, including child predators in Texas and California, a murderer in Los Angeles, a Guatemalan national convicted of assault in Massachusetts, and a Chinese smuggler.

However, other people involved in law enforcement or the military will be working without pay so that Chuck Schumer can have an issue when Alexandria Donkey-Chompers primaries him:

Emergency rooms are not required by law to attend to non-emergency cases, and the one here at least refers lesser ones to the Urgent Care Center which is basically Hospital Lite. The problem is, if they misdiagnose something and its worse than they thought (your headache just needs aspirin oops it was a stroke) then they get sued so they tend to err on the side of caution.

The driver was a hispanic woman who combined staring mostly at her phone showing the way to our house with speeding and being very impatient in traffic. I was not sure we'd make it home.

Haven't explored the depths of that in a while. Medicaid is an odd duck. It's partially federally funded, partially state-funded. Each participating state must have a written State Plan but they have to satisfy certain conditions established by federal statute and regulation. Strictly speaking illegals aren't generally eligible for Medicaid except for emergency Medicaid to cover some of the ER costs. Libtard states put illegals into the system despite ineligibility which is why they're balking so hard at giving up records to the Administration.

There has been a grift forever. I think most states requires ERs to treat all emergencies.
- So they do and pass the costs on to other patients.
- But now that it is paid for, there is no incentive to exclude non-emergencies.

The costs always flow down to paying customers. Either through insurance or state funding. But the hospitals refuse to distinguish between vital care and "you should make an appointment" care.

When the government refuses to do its job (keeping illegals out) you can never rely on private businesses to do it for them. Obamacare solved this by throwing money at it, and to no one's surprise the problem got bigger.

Yes, I think the main reason he titled it 1984 by flipping the current year is that he really was writing about Britain in 1948.

Much of his Party evils did come from the USSR, such as the way that the regime emasculated members of the regime who were targeted as traitors. Perpetual war could be interpreted from either the British or Soviet Union’s perspective. In each case they’d just finished fighting Germany and were now fighting each other.
