A large mob, with swords and clubs, was with him from the chief priests and elders of the people. 48 His betrayer had given them a sign: “The One I kiss, He’s the One; arrest Him!” 49 So he went right up to Jesus and said, “Greetings, Rabbi!” and kissed Him.

He betrayed Christ...can't feel that badly for him. I always felt more sorry for Pilate. He's just trying to keep the peace, he's technically in charge but tries to let the locals run daily stuff, and the local leaders are threatening to riot because of some religious weirdo cult leader. You realize the guy's innocent and not a threat, try a few ploys to get him off the hook (like the Barabas vote), but in the end, weigh the deaths of hundreds in suppressing Jewish riots vs the death of one innocent guy, and crucify him. Probably a pretty common occurrence when life was cheap.

There were no "fine" people anywhere in that scene, except Jesus. All were sinners, condemned by God, until God Himself washed away their sins. Yes, even Peter, chopping off the ear of the high priest's servant. If the people were very fine, Jesus wouldn't have needed to be there.

218 No. 31 Scenes from the Life of Christ: 15. The Arrest of Christ (Kiss of Judas) Giotto di Bondone, b. 1267, Vespignano, d. 1337, Firenze
1304-06
Fresco, 200 x 185 cm
Cappella Scrovegni (Arena Chapel), Padua

Web Gallery of Art: This dramatic scene takes place at night. Torches shine out among the sticks and halberds against the blue of the sky. The throngs of people crowd into the centre, towards Christ, who is betrayed by Judas' kiss. Every movement, even that of Peter as he cuts off the ear of an attacker, and every gaze heightens the tension of the central confrontation.

With the force of his body Judas presses against Christ, who appears to disappear beneath the traitor's cloak. This expresses the inevitable outcome of this overwhelming confrontation. Surrounded and hemmed in by numerous faces, the profiles of Christ and Judas almost collide. The two look at one another — the one with dignity and seriousness, the other full of malice. The whole drama of the event is captured in this infinitely long exchange of glances.

www.wikiart.org, in part, "The commotion seems to be just beginning,..." Succinctly put.

Interesting, but would likely pass hanging. Thank you.

(LifeSiteNews) — Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen apologized to Greenland’s indigenous women for eugenic forced contraception during a decades-long period ending in the 1990s.

From the late 1960s to 1992, Danish health authorities aimed at curbing the Inuit’s population by forcing about 4,500 women and teen girls – about half of the island’s fertile females – to have a contraceptive intrauterine device (IUD) inserted against their will, Le Monde reported.

Many of the women became sterilized as a result, and “almost all of them have suffered from physical or psychological problems.”

Former Greenland Prime Minister Mute Egede called the program a “genocide,” as the population growth of Greenland significantly slowed down in the 1970s from previous high numbers.
