I often don't care about the subject of the scenes he paints. They aren't bad, just not interesting to me. However, I do enjoy his techniques and especially his color choices. His use of Impressionistic areas of a painting, often foliage, combined with a more realistic main subject makes the image stand out.
In this painting the soft greens of the trees is reflected in the blues of the water. The light tan of the stone work also have areas of the green. And all the colors are mild and warm. It is a pleasant scene. Posted by: JTB at October 03, 2025 09:50 AM (yTvNw) 67

This whole ordeal has affected me more than I thought. I'm in an admitted funk and today is the first day of getting out of it.
What's done is done, bridges are burned, yet that chapter is now closed. I will only have to deal with anything further when my SM passes away, then, according to the trust, anything remaining (which I doubt their will be) will be distributed equally. It is at that point I will never, ever, deal with SS again. I really have learned a lot about what kind of person she actually is. I choose not to associate with that kind. Today, it's back on the path to wellness, stability and moving the f*ck out to the country. Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Cancer at October 03, 2025 10:04 AM (PpBto) 120

The Abandon Harris Mob Has Blood on their Hands! Seeing the ICE raids makes me sick. Worse are “Abandon Harris” idiots calling for us to all unite and fight back when THEY are complicit in letting this happen. They all encouraged people to stay home or vote for that Russian asset Jill Stein last year.
We should shame them. Hound them on social media, reminding them they voted for this. Warn other people they cannot be trusted. If we have another election, they are likely to make the same stupid miscalculation. this is not the time for a Dem Civil War. The margins are too narrow for us to take our eye off the real enemy. You know who didn't have Joe Bidens back? Elected Democrats. Instead of ffighting the media on their BS attacks on Biden they called for him to step down and for Harris to replace him. Knowing there were poll numbers and voter outreach problems. Like the folks saying "I'll have to hold my nose to vote for Hillary" and made damn sure they said it to as many people as possible in their lives or in the line at the grocery store, causing how many thousands and hundreds of thousands of people to just not bother to vote at all😡 Posted by: Intercepted DU Transmissions brought by the Intrepid AoS Liaison at October 03, 2025 10:17 AM (JCZqz) 176

Posted by: Beach Cruiser One of the major cost savings proposed for FEMA is limit disaster payments that are forseeable to only one payout over the lifetime of the property. If you build on land of dubious safety in the first place for monetary and scenic reasons, then I certainly argue you are not entitled to a second scoop or more of taxpayer money to rebuild. Furthermore, your private insurance rates should reflect the actual risk of damage rather than be communitized with lower risk properties. Time to end the favorite game of some to socialize losses and privatize gains. Posted by: whig at October 03, 2025 10:22 AM (WDjG6) 186

I think that I saw this at Chincoteague National Seashore. There was an exhibit with pictures and maps that showed how much the barrier islands in the Virginia Capes region (Cape Charles and Cape Henry) had moved about from currents and storms over the centuries. What once was solid beach now was ocean and vice versa. Oceanfront property is set on a dynamic landscape and it always has been that way. Much the same, with remnants of pilings to prove it, along the Delaware shore of the Delaware River estuary. Half-true. Elected Democrats wanted Choo Choo Biden gone but ... they also knew Kamala Harris was a drunken fool. They were angling for a "mini-primary" (probably superdelegates only): aka, the smoke filled room except before the convention rather than during. Biden torched that by immediately throwing his support to Harris. He (or, rather, Jill and Hunter) calculated that this would make Harris the clear winner in a mini-primary such that the process would just weaken the D brand nationwide. Everyone panicked and the mini-primary idea failed. A brokered convention open to the public might actually have saved the Democrats in 2024. Of course this assumes that the left wing wouldn't turn the whole event into a circus. Posted by: Yyrog the Sorceror (gKWVE) at October 03, 2025 10:25 AM (yYROg) 203

Case in point:
Barky and Mooch live on what is basically a big sand bar in the North Atlantic Ocean (a famously calm body of water). You can literally see the ocean from their back yard. Does Barky believe in imminent catastrophic sea level rise? Hint: no. Does Barky's insurance company believe in imminent catastrophic sea level rise? Hint: no. Does Barky's mortgage company believe in imminent catastrophic sea level rise? Hint: no. I looked it up on Google and Google's argument is that Creationists are idiots because scientists themselves debunked Piltdown Man. After 40 years. That's fucking convenient. Science wins again!!
I can't wait until science "proves" human life begins at conception after another 300 years of killing so they can show those backwards creationist dummies another thing or two about Reality. Science!!! Posted by: ... at October 03, 2025 10:57 AM (Yh0rG) 322

Best used if one has only one child. Posted by: I used to have a different nic ======= Ottomans used to use that for succession to the throne.
