The Ministry of External Affairs over the weekend warned that the move could have "humanitarian consequences" while another minister suggested the global community was "a little afraid of our talent."
So this cocksucker seems to think that we are obligated to employ hundreds of thousands of Indians because their remittances support the Indian economy? Or maybe India is dumping their retard junior engineers on America because their sclerotic and over-regulated economy can't employ them? Either way, it isn't our problem, and suggesting that it is makes him sound like the beggar that he is!
"H-1B visas are not being used to fill occupational shortages or obtain highly skilled workers who are unavailable in the United States," the White House said in a statement. "Reports also indicate that many American tech companies have laid off their qualified and highly skilled American workers and simultaneously hired thousands of H-1B workers."
Ah...we get to the crux of the matter. Corporate America loves it some indentured servitude, and compliant Indians make the best ones! So, the short answer to India is: F*ck off, and fund your own country with homegrown industry. And to corporate America? The auto industry is full of these retards, mostly all remote working. That is what has been happening at Stellantis the past 5 years and the contract house bringing them in told us their long-term plans are to get them into every auto industry company, automakers and suppliers.
The Left couldn't destroy the auto industry through forced EV production, so now they are doing it by hiring retards from India to sabotage the gas vehicles. Ironically that may push people to just go buy Teslas.

Once Western Europe started recovering politicians in those countries and our own changed the purpose of the aid. As the Cold War materialized, aid from the US became "a protection from creeping socialism." Now, here's the irony. When I worked at Intel (INTC), they were up to their necks in “contingent workers” and bringing in “diversity hires”. Contingent workers came in thru two different Human Resource companies that had non-overlapping regions of the world. I’m not sure these were H1-B workers because they officially worked for the Human Resource companies doing work at Intel sites. The company would then make a delivery to Intel. The “contingent workers” did not get the same benefits because they worked for the hiring companies.

Saw on Substack once an article that went into how they became so dominant in the hospitality industry. Lots of sweetheart financial deals that give them an unfair advantage.
That's not to say the folks running them are bad people--I've had some very good experiences with 'em this year--but the system is what the system is.

Yep. At Stellantis, they laid off hundreds of qualified, skilled American engineers making on average $100k + benefits and replaced them with remote workers in India they pay $10k-$25k with no benefits (since they are contract).
Management sees that as a massive cost reduction, plus think that they can hire 4 engineers instead of just one. Problem is that one qualified, skilled American engineer is more efficient than the 4 Indian "engineers" put together.

The reason the GOP has not sealed the deal (unlike Trump and a few other candidates) is they don't want to give up what they have built over a lifetime in politics--a way of generational wealth for them and their families via grift. MAGA is a dagger to the heart of such arrangements. The Democrats have befouled their nests so that the big turnout model no longer works for them without fraud in the equation--their party base had led them to insane and non workable/sustainable policies.
The GOP doesn't want to seize the voters by and large abandoned by the Dems because that means the donors lose their bought GOP control of process as competitive primaries bring new voices to office reflecting coalitional interests rather than special ones. I saw the new YourAssDick Park last night. The action scenes were good but the script and casting were dogshit. Scarlet J looks terrible, with so much botox her lips barely move. She's as convincing as a badass merc as David Hogg.
The story is weak and cut and pasted from 10 different other movies. What's the Hispanic family doing in the movie? They are annoying and boring, make insanely dumb decisions, and the father is a mewling pussy. I swear this whole plotline was solely to meet their quota of minority actors.
And this is a perfect example of people going into a known dangerous world and making the dumbest decisions ever. They hire a bunch of badass mercenaries. So they bring an arsenal of weapons, right? No. No, they don't. They don't even bring a pistol. The dinos can easily be killed by modern weapons, but these idiots don't bring any.

A town I used to live in had a massive influx of Asians - Chinese and Indians.

We know from observation, in hindsight, that the oft-repeated full throated endorsement by the left for Free Speech in the 1950s thru the 1990s was a ruse, a sham. A ratchet to be used only one way. Once the gained control, then Free Speech was discarded and their edicts were ruthlessly enforced, and Free Speech just a distant fond memory in the minds of old dodderers. No Dissent is allowed against their orthodoxy.
I look at their oft-repeated protestations against the death penalty as entirely transactional, not based upon any deep seated moral objection. Merely that the bad guys are getting whacked.
My hypothesis is, they will start cranking out “2nd Look at Capital Punishment?” policy pieces if they are confident with all the levers of power. If true, this would be a very bad development or “canary in the coal mne” of which there have been many in recent years.

It's especially great on a Saturday afternoon when there are lines out the wazoo. Get to the front of the store, bypass the lines, get to the exit, and the person waves me on thru. They have a scanner as you walk up and a handheld reader. I don't know how it works, but I usually just get waved thru. No stopping to anal eyes my receipt.

I was at my Sam's Club a couple of days ago and asked the guy at the door how things worked. He showed me how the scanner you walk under looks at the QR code on your phone. From there, it sends a picture to their handheld scanner and they do a quick visual check for the items.
It's one of the many reasons I prefer them to Costco.

And there are new salary restrictions on H1Bs coming from Howard Lutnick.

Someone on the socials suggested going online and begin the process to obtain a "Gold Card" visa using bogus info. Not to actually get one, but rather to clog the system up with bogus applications.
The idea being when an application was started one of the 100K H1-B gold visas would be "taken" and couldn't be used by an Indian or whoever. It didn't matter if the application was never completed... it was opened and the system wouldn't release it for some period of time if not completed. This, in theory, would reduce the number of available visas to foreigners.

And it's still worth it to the corporations because one-third the pay rate plus not being able to even look for another job is like sweet, sweet corporate candy.

Apparently, to the Central Synagogue of NY (the neighbor is a recent arrival to my burb) Trump is a Nazi and all the illegals are Anne Frank in hiding. I told them I could not listen to these lies and distortions and that sending Mexicans to Mexico is not the same as concentration camps and gas chambers and that the rabbi, a woman, should be turned in and prosecuted for shielding illegals (which she admitted to). The couple is NOT democrat, and believes that rewarding illegals is not justice, but they wanted me to hear the shit that masquerades as "religious".

And I'm not The Bitter Developer who has been replaced. I worked for Tata Consulting as the US end of their project staffing operation. I was supposed to tech out their workers in India over the phone at 5:00 in the morning to make sure they were qualified before they get shipped over. And the bullshit they would pull... like you're interviewing a guy that knows his shit and all of a sudden your next interview has the exact same voice. But this time his name is "Bob" or "Mike." And when you don't pass someone you're casually reminded it is "your job" to staff this project. It was 100% bullshit and I never stop regretting I was ever part of it. But the money was great when it was offered so I took it. (pro tip: never become a manager.) Still, I could only last 3 months.

There are A LOT of people in education (both University and public school) that depend on the H-1B. The educational organizations within the US have actually set up special programs to recruit these folks.
School districts, and most colleges aren't going to voluntarily pay $100,000 up front. It's going to sink these recruitment programs.

Someone on the socials suggested going online and begin the process to obtain a "Gold Card" visa using bogus info. Not to actually get one, but rather to clog the system up with bogus applications.
The idea being when an application was started one of the 100K H1-B gold visas would be "taken" and couldn't be used by an Indian or whoever. It didn't matter if the application was never completed... it was opened and the system wouldn't release it for some period of time if not completed. This, in theory, would reduce the number of available visas to foreigners.

B) Dems in the last twenty years include 2004-Kerry, 2008-Obama, 2016-Killary, 2020-Biden. Obama ran as incumbent in 2012 so no real race there in Dem primary.

She’s Chinese, married to an American, but our citizenship and visa system is so slow and stupid, she isn’t able to go home to visit her cancer-stricken mom, lest her H1B be cancelled and she ends up unemployed and illegal. In my former life I worked with developmentally delayed toddlers and provided therapy services in their homes once a week. I will never forget the morning I arrived at a new family’s home and was told by a sad and distraught young father that he had just been laid off from his IT job at a very large Fortune 500 company in our area. His wife also worked, but didn’t make anywhere close to what his salary had been. He was afraid they were going to have to sell their home and move in with one set of their parents. Two hours later I arrived at another new family’s home. They had recently moved into a new home and I found out that the father had just been hired for an IT job at the same company as the previous father. This family was newly arrived from India and so happy about their future. I couldn’t help wondering if the American father had been let go so that the Indian father could be hired at a much cheaper salary for the same exact job. Now we know.
