Conviction vs. Convenience (scampydog)

What are the limits of your/their resolve? This is beyond politics. It is a fight for what is moral and what is worth preserving and building upon.

The murder of Charlie Kirk and the left's grotesque reactions to it on social media have shocked more than just political/policy partisan junkies. The "normals" are wide awake and are pissed off.

We are seeing some push back with cancellations, plenty of writing/think pieces, TPUSA chapter applications, and some government bluster.

People are realizing (younger generations and the oblivious), perhaps for the first time, that the modern left isn't just filled with petulant ideologues. It is overrun with sociopaths and psychopaths that are embedded in government, education, media, the healthcare, jurisprudence, the judiciary, and hoodie-basement dwellers who wander out to riot.

For years, sane people have ignored and avoided these loathsome domestic terrorists. Who can blame them? No one wants to walk into a zone where they are greatly outnumbered. As the saying goes, your tactics suck if you do so - it doesn't make you brave, it means you're stupid.

But what happens when the danger zombies comes for you? Your children, your freedom of movement, your community, your way of life? The radical left are bold enough to murder a peaceful public figure in broad daylight - our survival instinct shifts. Avoidance gives way to anger. Then to engagement.

We've reached peak nice. It's over.

Who is willing to move beyond the complaints and actually enact change and/or confront the people that are the problem?

President Trump and his team certainly are. It will, however, take more than political saviors. It's going to take us. The people. Those willing to risk what has been earned and learned. This isn't a laydown fight. These deranged sickos genuinely believe they are just in their thoughts and actions. They are willing to fight and many are armed. How does society deal with those that cannot be reasoned with? How do the ones that have a chance at sanity get pried away from those that are hardened beyond repair in their beliefs?

I have been saying the same line since my late teens. Eventually, it will end in violence. Unknown where we are on the violence timeline, but we have moved closer to the nasty part.

Last week, I played golf on Wednesday evening and Sunday morning. Groups of 14 and 34 dudes, respectively. Spent a couple hours in a dive bar on Saturday night while on a road trip. Lively discussions at all three but no one acted like they were ready for Civil War II. Mood is shifting, people are talking, but what actions are being taken?

The left is not going to "calm down." Historically, they have done the opposite. Civil Rights? Viet Nam? Middle class white guilt? Not radiator coolants. These launched the Weather Underground, the Black Panthers, and Symbionese Liberation Army. Expecting today's Left to de-escalate is naive. They don't want peace - they want submission.

The long quiet center and the right have tolerated the moral inversion and gaslighting. Charlie Kirk's murder was a breaking point. Many who tried to stay out of the fight are realizing this is no longer about left vs. right. It's about sanity vs. chaos. Order vs. anarchy.

What can be done? What can normals do? I don't know, and nobody else does either. Let's start here.

Law and Order

- Declare Antifa a domestic terrorist group. Trump handled this on Wednesday, 9/17/25. RICO everyone involved.
- Infiltrate and dismantle anarchist hubs. Long, dirty, necessary work - but crucial.
- Enforce existing laws. Roll back soft-on-crime policies.
- Prosecute criminal acts clearly and forcefully. De-legitimize the ideology behind them.

Messaging & Media Warfare

- Control the narrative. Take back the language and be inflexible when the left deploys their word bullshit. Never refer to them as "protesters" - call them what they are, anarchists, radicals, and domestic terrorists.
- Expose them publicly. Humiliate their ideas with the weapons of wit, truth, and facts.
- Mocking works. Point, laugh, and watch them wring themselves into hyperventilating gyrations. Then point and laugh harder.
- Prepare for debate. Polite retreat is for losers nowadays. Bring facts and a bit of venom. Or threaten them with a toilet swirly. I'd say to make them think you're going to steal their girlfriend/boyfriend, but they are a confused lot - grey area these days.

Rebuild Culture & Identity

- Make conservatism cool. Most people aren't deep thinkers - they follow trends. So set the trend. Signal that patriotism, strength, and faith are aspirational, not outdated.
- Restore national identity. Support Trump and others reviving the spirit of America.
- Bring back Western religion. Regardless of your belief system, It’s not just a moral compass; it's foundational to our country.

Target Institutions

- Cut federal funding to lawless cities and states. The tools already exist — highway fund leverage is a proven example.
- Defund the GOs, NGOs, and leftist grift machines. Follow the money and shut it off. (Big hat tip to Trump - he is all over this).
- Take back the schools. Get involved in local boards, support critical thinking curricula, and fight the indoctrination. FOIA the shit out of them. It works.

Digital/Online

- Reduce their audience. There are simply a large number of dumb dumbs that should not have a platform or voice. Social media is a recruitment engine — and an echo chamber for radicals. Pressure platforms, change algorithms, and starve them of attention.

This is an old school 15 round prize fight. Those types of fights rarely went the distance. I'll take Hagler in round 3.

11 A leftist nut shot and killed a random guy at a country club last night. We must talk about these things.

A leftist nut shot up an ABC station in Sacramento and was arrested and let out on bail. The AG and FBI swooped him up and arrested him on federal charges, no bail. That's how to do it. Over and over until they get it.

I have unfriended leftist haters who I was tolerating bc of past friendships. No biggie, I'm just not available to them.

Lack of law enforcement has been an issue for decades, especially for illegal aliens all across the country and for basic crime in every blue city. George Soros bought District Attorney elections all across the country to make sure they refuse to enforce laws.

And both the Democrat Party and the GOPe have not only refused to enforce immigration laws, they have increased illegal alien invasion and protected them with "sanctuary" areas and provided them taxpayer funded benefits.

In addition to enforcing laws, Bostic v Clayton County (2020) needs to be overturned asap. That SCOTUS case legally legitimized "gender identity" as a protected class. Until that is overturned and "gender identity" is classified correctly as a mental disorder, this madness is going to continue.

13 Civil Rights were a GOP thing. Democrats like Al Gore Sr fought it for a decade. The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was passed with 100% GOP support and 23% Democrat. So of course Democrats spent the next 61 years saying "we passed Civil Rights." That you also believe them is scary.

Gary Melton with Paramount Tactical shows a video where the gun shot sounds like a cannon, as expected. The shot is around the 15:00 mark. Starting around the 14:00 mark, Gary Melton explains why the cell phone videos with lesser mics deliberately muffle the gun shot sound, while the professional mic used in the interview at the Charlie Kirk event picked up the actual cannon-like sound.

Judges that do not honor traditional values disbarred.
Self defense and defending others honored instead of being maligned and prosecuted as a crime.

When these villains are shot dead on the spot instead of being cuffed and strolled away their followers will begin to rethink the value of violence.

Value of violence is the bottom line.

The way I see it, the Feds can be used as an absolute last resort. I agree; the fed have a minimal role in law enforcement except for crimes that are specifically federal in nature (like crimes that cross state lines, for one example). But what is your appeal if your state has declared its residents are the problem and see to it that a state of war exists between the state government and its residents?

But if the local government force won't or as many in the last 4 years just let suspects walk out never to be found agauntil they commit another crime, the Feds should be able to grab that suspect.

47 Many write-ups like this over the past week+. I regard them as optimistic. I don't mean that in a bad way, it's just that I see things as a bit more of a pessimist. Maybe a skeptic is a better word.

There's a vast universe of people out there who are fairly ignorant beyond a surface level. Again, I don't necessarily mean that in a bad way. They have lives to live, and other priorities. Can't fault them for their priorities, because theirs are their own.

Revolutions don't require a majority, after all, so maybe there is hope. I guess that is the optimistic way to look at it.

everyone of the reviews I've read states how important this movie is, and how important the methods the terrorist "heroes" use to solve their problems can be applied to "today's problems".

And that's just what we need right now with the left murdering and assassinating at will, a movie that glorifies terrorists.

Harmeet wants to have reset civil rights law back to its intended purpose - she's got her hands full in that very important job and is well positioned where she is. Pam can let Harmeet go nuts with little oversight.

As mentioned previously, to run all of DOJ, you have to manage multiple departments and leaders, all under you. And some of those departments are still coming out of the Biden lawless years...so, some need more oversight than others...

I was aware of Mr. Kirk, but never paid much attention because I didn't think I was in his target audience (i.e., college-aged 30-ish adults). However, after his assassination several Catholic priests spoke out about it. Bishop Robert Barron, Frs. Chris Alar MIC, Mike Schmidt, and Robert Spitzer SJ spoke favorably about Mr. Kirk.

Unlike some of the other conservative "influencers", Mr. Kirk had correctly identified that we are in spiritual struggle. Even though he was a Protestant, he had mentioned at least twice on his blog that the Blessed Virgin Mary was a model for young women, and a key to defeating radical feminism. After I learned that, I see why there had been some speculation that he was in the process (or at least an inquirer) of converting to the Catholic Church.

Doesn't work like that under the Presidential Vacancies Act which limits time as 'acting' administrator.

Anyway, Bondi is more an administrator and figurehead anyway---the assistant AGs run the office. And a lot of the roadblocks occur where the rubber meets the road, district attorney levels--for example the DA that refuse to charge Ticia for mortgage fraud in VA got fired this week.

Dems had been blocking nominees for these lower offices making it harder for those on the top of agencies, including DoJ to do their job.

His wife is catholic, but he very recently stated (and his pastor confirmed), he was not converting. He said he respected Catholicism, and while he felt other religions don’t give enough deference to Mary, he struggled strongly with Catholics view of her. Having been raised Catholic and now attending a Church much like the Evangelical Church Charlie Kirk did, I feel this deeply and it caused me a little pause. I have such a strong pull to Mary, and I don’t truly agree with his thoughts on the Catholic Church here. I don’t know if he would ever have converted, I really doubt it, and I don’t know that I will be back to the Church either. I feel much more lifted in Jesus where I am, but you never know for sure.

Yes. I saw that on F&F

@bennyjohnson
Cardinal Dolan says he spent the past week studying Charlie Kirk’s life, and the more he learned, the more he saw him as a modern-day Saint Paul.

A fearless missionary, a passionate evangelist, and a true hero.

“When I heard the tragic news, I said, ‘I wonder who he was.’ And then all of a sudden, this overwhelming, this overwhelming sense of sorrow and kind of renewal.”

“And I thought, I gotta learn about this guy. And the more I learned about him, I thought, this guy's a modern day Saint Paul. He was a missionary, he's an evangelist, he's a hero.”

“He's one that knew what Jesus meant when he said, the truth will set you free. And to do it, Now, I understand he was pretty blunt and he was pretty direct. He didn't try to avoid any controversy. He didn't even try to avoid confrontation. The difference is the way, the mode, the style

My pastor made the same comparison during his message today. Normally he stays out of political things, but because he had seen Charlie in person a few years ago, he was deeply struck by Charlie's assassination.

We are also going through the book of Acts in detail (since summer 2024) and Paul's message resonates throughout time and space.

I had planned something to say when people went off, but ended up staying silent because it would only provoke further hostility from the lefties with no support from the sane people. And I have zero social power on my own.

No liberal has ever, EVER, had to sit quietly in a meeting or on a Zoom call and listened to conservative coworkers wishing death on President Biden or announcing openly how much they hate his voters and are glad they don't have to work with any.

Conservatives in mainstream corps have had to do that on a daily basis for 10 years.

124 It is amusing watching the Euro-niks who imprisoned the leaders of the Catalan separatist movement now endorsing the Arabs in Gaza as a nation.

Remember Iberia was three separate nations until the union of Aragon and Castile. And it could easily have seen Portugal and Castile for a union instead of what happened historically.

So, unlike Gaza, Catalonia has a separate history and identity.

That's almost meaningless to being a member of the Catholic faith. I'm not planning on reading it. Popes are wrong all the time b/c they are human, just like you and me. They are only considered perfect when speaking ex cathedra, which they do very rarely.

Think of a Pope like any other world leader. They lead their flock. But they are human and imperfect, and human and imperfect in many ways. They would tell you that, too. It's why we can survive both good and bad Popes as a faith. We started with an imperfect Pope in Peter, so expecting to somehow eventually get a perfect one would be...unrealistic.

You tube is actually a loss leader for Google. They do it so they can harvest information to sell via AdSense (recently has a new name) and that is why they want logins versus just guessing who you are via IP and search history. If Youtube was spun off from Google, it would immediately have require subscriptions for its products, if for no other reason, than to pay talent, pay copyright fees, etc.

They might offer a few things free like Rumble does but overall they would have to charge for the content.

What happened last week was a man was murdered in cold blood and the left used those exact same words to justify his murder.

They realized those exact same labels had been applied to THEM at some point when they disagreed with something the left said.

And for a LOT of normies, the lightbulb went on.

It wasn't just noise.

THE LEFT WOULD ACTUALLY MURDER THEM IF THE LEFT THOUGHT THEY COULD GET AWAY WITH IT

I agree. I am a practicing Catholic, and when things look bleak within the church, I always recollect something I read a long time ago (I do not remember the author of the observation): Never does the church so closely resemble our Lord than when broken and betrayed from within. Also, and more importantly, I recall the words of Our Lord: the gates of hell shall not prevail against his church. That doesn't mean that the devil might not win the occasional battle, only that he will lose the war in God's good time.

I wasn't sure if you were talking about religion having an impact on the present material versus the eternal, in a cosmological way, or of viewing religion in purely material utilitarian terms. Or of establishing a religion purely as a means of social control. However, could not one posit that Christianity is both means and ends, i.e. the redemption of man's soul through the propitiatory act of Jesus' death and resurrection, and restoring mankind/creation to God.

178 If you haven't watched the video of the Charlie Kirk assassination, as difficult as it is to watch, you should look at it, he was murdered in public, the death was horrific and it was conducted in front a mass of people including his wife and 3 year old daughter who were standing just off stage and saw their husband and father executed in front of them.

Watch it so it steels your spine and gives you purpose, and mission to impose our moral vision, because Charlies fate is what the left intends for all of us and that is how they intend to impose their moral vision upon us.

Avert not your eyes. It's like abortion. It's disgusting and bloody and evil and goddammit you need to see it for what it is and never forget. Look at the horror because it's real and you need to know exactly what it is we're dealing with.

186 148 145 Bring back Western religion. Regardless of your belief system, It’s not just a moral compass; it's foundational to our country.
________
That won't work. Read C S Lewis on this. You cannot have a religion that exists for the sake of some other end. At least, not a fully developed one. Polytheistic paganism CAN exist for the sake of the country. But nothing higher.

For clarity (what was rattling around in my head when I wrote that) - I am approaching this from the perspective that the Founding Fathers drew on Judeo-Christian beliefs when shaping the nation’s framework. Our laws, as well as our ideas of duties and rights, were influenced by that tradition. By “foundational,” I mean that religion provided the base from which our national values grew. Without those religious underpinnings, I would argue, society risks losing its moral grounding. To your point, it cannot be the means to an end as a nation.

193 Relating to Trump's statement,...' No, I just want people to act. They have to act, and we want to act fast....' on Bondi.

Here is a compromise post between oust Bondi and Bondi is great:

Trump tells AG Bondi that “JUSTICE MUST BE SERVED NOW”.

However, Trump is not actually talking to Bondi here. He is her boss. He does not need social media to talk to her.

He is talking to us.

He is letting us know that he hears our frustration and that justice is coming

198 Ben Had, ok I found it

I express my profound closeness to the Palestinian people in Gaza, who continue to live in fear and to survive in unacceptable conditions, forced once again from their own lands. Before Almighty God, who commanded “Thou shalt not kill,” and throughout human history, every person always has an inviolable dignity, to be respected and upheld. I renew my appeal for a ceasefire, the release of hostages, and a negotiated diplomatic solution, in full respect of international humanitarian law. I invite everyone to join my heartfelt prayer that a dawn of peace and justice may soon arise.

I see where "forced once again from their own lands" is a problem.

200 This is so different than many years ago.

AI - While both the 1960s and 1970s experienced significant radicalism and violence, the nature and visibility of these phenomena differed between the two decades. The 1960s saw widespread, large-scale public protests and the assassinations of prominent political figures, while the 1970s saw protest movements decline and some radicalism turn inward, with small, underground groups embracing violence.

Now it seems we've moved quickly towards a divided society with mutually distrustful "us versus them" camps, pernicious polarization.

I don't know how to change the path, the pattern. Many young people have hours to stream & game; their parents' medical coverage until they're well past age 18, often receive substantial support - financial and otherwise - from family, government so it can be quite a time not to deal with reality, engage in the world of fantasy.

And then there's 'adults' who can't be bad professors, parents, employers & say, "No," & the political actors who also use them.

201 Again, The Conversation, referenced above,

"In a 1946 article for the Tribune newspaper, George Orwell declared:

The word Fascism has now no meaning except in so far as it signifies ‘something not desirable’.
---
CAN we possibly change, meet part way from being 'Right' to 'We' Fighters? Again, IDK.

AI Overview - While it is theoretically possible for the U.S. to shift from a "right fighters" to a "we fighters" culture, a move of this magnitude would require widespread, sustained, and coordinated effort. Experts indicate that the country is currently in a state of deep political polarization, making a fundamental change difficult, though polls suggest many Americans desire greater unity.
--
While I don't think U.S. civil war is ahead, but sustained guerilla warfare tactics could be & over time might develop to a people's war and all segments of our society.

Try, try hard to find unity, but prepare for rejection, too.

Excellent post, Scampydog.

203 It’s nice to think there’s a broad swath of people from center left to center right that are horrified at the assassination of Charlie Kirk. That they will repudiate the response of so many Democrats and democrat-adjacent. I don’t think that’s going to be the case. I think the center left will put the senselessness out of mind and rationalize the media and politician behavior.

Things will go way sideways before they get better. The only thing that will sidetrack the long march is a massive galvanizing event that forces a unified national effort. September 11 wasn’t close to being enough.
