Progressivism As A Death Cult?

Deathocracy_T_11092025.png
[Graphic courtesy of "Dr_No"]

The descent of American culture from a moderately religious, moderately moral nation, to its current depths was shockingly fast. Our moral compass is pulled in every direction, providing zero guidance. We have lost respect for the sanctity of human life, and that can be laid squarely on the fanatical love of abortion that sprang out of the Women's Liberation and Feminist movements. The glory of our country's Bill Of Rights, a revolutionary change in government's relationship with the People, has become a pale and dissipated relic. Free Speech? Only if it doesn't offend! A right to a speedy trial? Not if you aren't of the correct political bent! Free exercise of religion? Bake that cake!

We have become nihilistic, we have lost the ability to reason, we have detached facts and logic from the body politic, which now is fueled by an avalanche of hysterical ignorance being pumped into the public sphere by an out-of-control social media.

And what is this all driven by? The destruction of our educational system, courtesy of communism's long march through our institutions, has led to huge numbers of Americans who have no basis for seeing the world, and live hedonistically. "If it feels good, do it" might sound like a throwaway stupidity from Timothy Leary, but it has been embraced by a generation.

And the data back it up! Heartland Institutes deeply depressing series of polls expose a youth culture that is completely detached from America's traditions of freedom and liberty and individual responsibility. Sefton and I talked with Jim Lakely about it over at CutJibNewsletter Speaks. It was sobering.

It is easy to be lulled into the media's carefully scripted response to the surge in violence as the default response to uncomfortable ideas as a problem on both sides of the debate. And that is a lie. The Democrat/Progressive apparatus has embraced violence for as long as they have been in existence. Take a look at the history of the French Revolution for a harbinger of what may be coming to America. Rigid adherence to an insane orthodoxy of transsexualism, income redistribution, destruction of traditional morality, dilution of American Exceptionalism by a flood of third world savages...all of it can be laid at the feet of the left and its insane drive for power and control.

They do not want to win on the battlefield of ideas. Their political philosophy is indefensible, so there is no other option left to them besides violence. They don't want to convince us of the rightness of their ideas, they want us to accept them...or die.

Is that histrionic? No. Street violence, a progressive specialty, is now an everyday thing in some parts of the country. Physical intimidation is the norm. Just try to discuss the inadvisability of bringing discussions of sodomy, transsexualism, and homosexuality into the second grade classrooms in many school districts, and it is entirely possible that you will be silenced, and dragged out by the police. Try to counter protest at a "Free Palestine" march in NYC, and you might get beaten by the mob! Or pray outside of an abortion abattoir. Off to jail!

And of course it is also much worse. Donald Trump survived two assassination attempts. Charlie Kirk did not.

What's the answer? It all comes down to our educational system, and its total co-option by the progressive movement. Blue-haired, pierced loons are teaching our children that it is perfectly reasonable to choose genders, kill your political opponents, take the hard-earned money of the successful, and savagely denigrate all that has made this country the greatest country in human history.

Until education is purged of this, we will continue to slide into the abyss.

15 I think all the things that CBD lays out so well in the above come down to something deeper than education. I think it all comes down to the spiritual. If people reject God, and replace Him with gods (whatever that may be) then those gods rule with human knowledge, human morality, human reasoning, etc -- which would work, I guess, if man was basically good. However, I posit that no matter your theology (everyone has one) all you have to do is view the world and humanity as it is every day, and we see that man is NOT basically good. How "not good" has been debated by theologians forever. But I believe the fact is that man is not basically good -- he's basically selfish, lazy, self-loving, self-seeking. It is when we appeal to a higher power that we want to be better. Are there some people who are better than others where humanity and care for those around are concerned? Sure -- until the price becomes to great or self is threatened. The saying "Everyone has their price" comes to mind.
Just my opinion, YMMV

24 We all loathe politically correct speech codes.
And yet, we on the right can also influence culture with our own choice of language. I will cite a single word that I think can have a meaningful impact.
I propose in all of our conversations we change the word "public" to "government" when it comes to referring to taxpayer funded schools.
They are not public schools. Can any member of the public just wander into them freely like a public park? Can you just go shoot hoops in the gym whenever you want like you can over at the city park? How about the local high school library? Is that open to the public?

Call them what they are: government schools.
They are under government control.
You, the member of the public, are simply the one paying for it.

Absolutely spot on. The pernicious effects of the long-term teaching of leftist ideology can be seen everywhere. And to take one very obvious example from overseas, just look at how the exposure of children in Gaza and other Muslim areas to anti-Semitic poison raises up generation after generation of mindless haters.

As far as I'm concerned, at least in this stage of our history, in loco parentis is a dead concept.

28 Two lines jumped out at me: "The descent of American culture from a moderately religious, moderately moral nation, to its current depths was shockingly fast."
and
"It all comes down to our educational system, and its total co-option by the progressive movement."

Both true statements, and yet the second is just the mechanism for why the first was accomplished. not the reason. Why did the rest of us sit by and allow education to be corrupted, while doing nothing? We didn't notice it is an easy answer; but we pretended not to notice because that would have required action on our part, and we didn't have the courage or confidence needed to take such action.

That leads me back to the first statement: "a moderately religious, moderately moral nation". I would put forth the idea that a "moderately moral" nation does not have the backbone needed to survive an existential moral crisis; and that a nation cannot become a seriously moral nation without becoming a seriously religious nation. This does not mean a single religion must triumph; for the first 150 years of our existence, America was a seriously religious nation while allowing multiple faiths room to flourish.

I don't see America ever embracing the left's insane orthodoxy. The bigger worry is what comes after that in order to completely purge the left from the public sphere. If the FR is any indication, it'll be a short Corsican with a God Complex.

The fuck it was.

The current Dem commie leadership's faction took control, and its current ranking members forged, in the late 60s. Also when the Dems committed to destroying the cities.

The FDR faction was in NO WAY religious and was cozied up to the USSR in ways that enabled that 60's sea change. It also gave us the current model of piblic education.

Max Kolbe was a local hero for hosting a religious radio show, you see. When another prisoner escapes, the Nazis use it as an excuse to break the Will of the prisoners and through propoganda, the Will of all Poles: they throw ten random prisoners in a cell to let them starve.

Hilarity ensues when Kolbe volunteers to take the place of a family man among the ten, and the Nazis accept.

On the other hand, Progressives (which Jesse doesn't distinguish between Progs and Socialists/ Communists)....make that their primary goal. I don't have kids and I'd like to say my kids would never have stepped foot in one of these quality-last, doctrine-first classrooms -- but that's too easy.

HOWEVER, I think one reason it happened is that the left cleverly chose plump, soft-spoken ladies and skinny men as the purveyors of their doctrine of hate and death. Who would suspect Mr. Bob or Miss Jean of hating America and twisting young minds and straight-up teaching young people to suspect each other and honor the dregs of our culture?

Especially if they ran an orderly classroom full of bright colors and messages of love and acceptance. I mean, the opposite of acceptance is rejection, right? If you don't have a rainbow flag in your classroom, that means you hate guys, right? Oh no!

Many people feel a certain way about this video being shared, and the general consensus is to refer back to Jackie O when she refused to change her bloody shirt.

And yes, there is that, but also, remember the last memory any of us had of Charlie before this was his violent, very public death.

In reality, she gave us the greatest gift of closure, seeing him laying in peace. It helps replace that video of his death with this video of his peace and love in our own heads.

This will be our last memory of him, and it's amazing she was willing to share it with us.

The best reason is to protect a teacher from a cancel mob. Say, Becky sends Tyrone to the principal's office. What if Tyrone gets Reverend Pastor Honorable Bacon to picket the school. I don't believe the answer is just zealousness. There are zealots, of course, but I started viewing all of this as if it was a top down operation some time ago, and I've seen no evidence that contradicts that theory.

The so-called left/right dichotomy has always been an artificial construct, but it's never been so successfully used as it is today. Because the powers that be, in so many institutions, are tools of an oligarchy that wants total control. Using "leftist" tactics, and employing people who are totally committed to the cult, is a means to the end.

And the so-called right spends way more time than it should, fighting those "lefty" cultists.

204 196 My take: For generations and generations of US parents, K-12 public schools were/are a high-trust institution. Trusted to not politically indoctrinate children, to not teach politicized or biased civics and history, and to not encourage children to embrace the social and sexual mores of individual teachers and school administrators beyond heterosexual. Based on the K-12 experiences of a huge majority of parents, generation following generation, they expected this would never change, in PUBLIC schools. Slow but steady infiltration by people having much different beliefs and corresponding teaching goals, was not spotted until recently.

208 I think one of the most harrowing eye openers from this week is the left has stepped so far away from God, they are no longer horrified to witness the loss of a life. You should recoil from an image showing a person being murdered. And people saw they didn’t. The smarter ones on that side are recognizing, albeit for all the wrong reasons, that this is not the image they should project, and they are scrambling, going through all the tricks that have worked for them in the past. But something has changed…we are watching people all over the world changing from lambs into roaring lions.

237 Marxism isn't a Death Cult, but it is very materialistic. It is essentially an inversion of Christianity that purports to help the poor and downtrodden. But, Marxism requires the commission of the Sins of Pride, Theft, Anger and Envy.

Since it's materialistic and denies the spiritual, the human person has no intrinsic value and Marxism focuses solely on redistributing wealth without any regard for the fact that the various human persons have different talents.

Since the human person has no intrinsic value, it becomes easy for the Prideful to decide to try "kill their way" to Heaven-on-Earth. So we see Lefties celebrating the assassination of a young man that wanted to have those "Conversations" the Lefties said they wanted.

2. Sketchers (shoe company) kids shoes with I-pod compatible tracking. They play the commercial like a way to find those hidden kids shoes discarded under the bed and stuff. But, it's really a way to track your kid if they are taken, or lost. (not saying this is a bad idea...just that it reflects the times)

3. Naloxone Medicated nasal spray. This is a drug you take to parties in the event that someone Over doses on Opioids.

I want to go back in time.

272 248 you know, I am so old I remember after 9/11 there were masses of articles,

Read closely the report, there was not only readiness for a simulated attack on that day, but was so expected, and anticipated, that the responses center asked: Is this "Realworld" or "Simulation".

Why would they let a Disaster Go to waste?

They knew it was coming, this was Bill Clinton's Legacy 9/10 thinking -- Forever War, A World Safe For Socialism and the Clinton Global Catastrophe.

Well done sir! We will NEVER forget who did this

That comes under my heading of KGB monetary influence of colleges. Many of us were jaws agape saying, well, that's CA or that's up north. Oklahoma hiring Anita Hill was the shocker but that was, what, ten years later. That's how long it took to infiltrate the colleges, hard core.

You don't say. I'm in a great deal of pain, and I'm try___ to avoid the cliche of making everything about me. My poor wife would smirk that I fail at that in even the best conditions LOL. So lets go 3rd person

A United States Marine, falsely accused of stolen valor, goes to Instapundit and asks the people he thought he was fighting for to help him get a retraction. Several of them reply "no one cares, go kill yourself". He's still fighting, alone because no one will help him. He's maintained discipline and avoided the temptation to get satisfaction with violence. 6 years now. But the stigma of the false accusation is slowly driving him insane. I don't know how this ends, but I know that no one cares.
Again, this the Right, not the Left.

Marxists sabotoging us through the education system? Maybe that's the problem. I just keep remembering that movie where we think our guy has won, only to realize the cryptic text warning "solve the problem" hasn't stopped

283 Our service spoke of all the big murders this week, the 3 women, and of course Charlie Kirk. The pastor spoke of the movement this has ignited, and how walking quietly Christian is not the way. The pastor also spoke to young men who feel called to act to get married, have children, stay married and lead their houses actively with love. There was a lot more, it was truly an uplifting message of hope, and of not being passive in this moment we have been handed.

So the POS Governor of Utah was on some Sunday talk show saying Charlie said some very inflammatory things... WTF ?
Posted by: It's me donna

While he is a RINO at times, I think much more information will come out about the trans/furrie deal this week with charges.

Have seen people screaming online about Patel. That the local FBI had the photos 12 hrs prior.

I obviously don't know, but I am fairly sure they knew who he was, were monitoring him and his little furrie friends online, and building the case for arrest.

I also think they did not want to mar the anniversary of 9/11/01 and give Bucky a piece of that date.

I never look at stuff like it is NCIS and they got 'em. I followed the Idaho murders of college kids and they knew in 2wks who did it, but set up the case for another two weeks for the arrest. 33hrs is not bad.

My opinion only. He was caught, is not cooperating, and is in jail. His furrie friends are getting looked at, all their little gaming sites, etc. There are more involved.

I already saw headlines somewhere of parnoia of their shouting their hatred on X and "to be careful" as they are getting reported. You bet they are and I don't even have X.

292 Excellent.

As a sidebar, one thing I've noticed is a lot of talking heads saying the Charlie's murder feels like a "tipping point" in the same way that 9/11 did, and that the world has tectonically changed. But I'm curious, what really did change after 9/11? That is, what truths were realized and how have they lasted? In fact, post-9/11, the Muslim invasion of the West only accelerated, now to the point that they've practically captivated the politics of Europe, and transformed and trashed their culture. So, in fact, it seems we really learned nothing from 9/11.

Will Charlie's death play out similarly? Will any of our harrowing realizations last?

294 The roles have been flipped......

Instead of the younger generation taking care of us Old Timing Dudes and Dudettes......

We have to take care of them because they are Fat, Dumb, Lazy and weak minded to be self-sufficient. The young women of today need to realize the High T Men are the future and Homo-Boys that are Beta Males and only care about themselves and will not take care of today's Women until death do us apart.
