The accompanying music video for "Y.M.C.A.", filmed in New York City in July 1978, features the band singing the song and dancing all over the city. The location shown the most is the original site of YMCA, McBurney, 213 West 23rd Street. Other filming locations included 395 West Street – site of the Ramrod gay club – the West Side Piers and Hudson River Park. It ends with the camera zooming in on the Empire State Building. G'morning, all!
Second day back from B'More and Ocean City. Early Church service, new members class, then the Church picnic today. Back yard need mowing, and I'm debating putting the Volvo wagon back together without the new strut assemblies, as the new ones are back ordered for another month. Control arms, ball joints and axles are ready to go, and I really miss the wagon. Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice at September 14, 2025 04:57 AM (a1415) 14

Yesterday I went to officiate at ceremony where people were getting married after living together for about 24 years, They are lovely people and Republicans . There was a woman who was a friend of the wife. They practice Buddhism together She asked me how I knew the couple and I said we are in our township Republican group. She said that she is a Democrat, but she is horrified by stuff online . This is where I think people can come together. She wants peace in the world. I think it's people of good will of various religious traditions who come together.

Note that George Abaraonye will still be allowed to assume the leadership mantle of the Oxford Union. They aren't happy that he so openly cheered Charlie Kirk's political assassination, because it causes them a small amount of embarrassment, but they aren't about to deny a fellow Leftist his position of power.
After all, a community college dropout from America came to their home court and schooled them in debate. To the degenerates at Oxford, there can hardly be any higher crime. "Fen hopefully many will see violence is not going to solve anything"
The German National-Socialist German Worker's Party, various North American native tribes, and the citizens of Carthage would like to have a word with you. Among others, of course. There are certain problems that only violence can solve; you may certainly claim that violence created almost all of that set of problems in the first place, and I'd agree. The US situation appears to be one of those violence created the problem that appears to need violence to solve. I'd say the situation in England is one of those exceptions, unless the replaced population and culture is willing to disappear. I don't live there and don't really care what happens to them; they appear to be a future example of something bad. YMMV on this bit. Posted by: Skip at September 14, 2025 *** Skip, the standard cynical answer is that violence solves a lot of things. Ask a Carthaginian, if you can find one. (Paraphrased from Robt. A. LCD with a high-quality matte finish; for once "paper-like" is not an exaggeration. I really need to find how the pen feels, because the screen looks perfect for things like note-taking. The one drawback, as I mentioned, is speed. There's also the Idea Tab Plus which has a larger version of the same screen, is about twice as fast and has twice the memory and storage of this model, albeit for twice the price. The new iPhone Air is not impressive to Marques Brownlee, other than the thinness and look of the design.
https://youtu.be/idEAABFzpfg The camera isn’t as good as the lower prices iPhone 17 base model, and nowhere near as good as the cameras on the Pro model. He is also worried that the Air will have terrible battery life due to the thinness and since it’s made of titanium, unlike the aluminum bodies in the other two models, that it will get a lot hotter. Marques is tempted to believe that the new iPhone Air is probably Apple’s first design for a new thinner type of iPhone and that this is a first step in getting a foldable phone from Apple on the next few years. —- It does look cool, but at $999 I’d rather get the iPhone 17 and save $200 and get a better camera and battery life. But it’s perfect for people who prefer cutting edge beauty over function. Posted by: SpeakingOf at September 14, 2025 07:19 AM (6ydKt) 92

But what struck me is how this Coach got into the odd habit of smiling while talking, no matter what the subject. At times it was just weird. But he constantly smiles, like a grinning fucking idiot. You'd think it'd be a dawdle with LLM tools available. Go ahead, believe the Earth is flat. Believe we're governed by lizards. Believe that Jews are behind your microwave's potato button not working anymore.
It seems that LLM training data comes from those forums. I ask ChatGPT why the potato button isn't working and I'm given a lecture on genocide in Gaza. Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at September 14, 2025 08:43 AM (a4flb) 182

Morning peeps.
My wife and I had a fairly candid discussion yesterday on the Kirk assassination, the disinformation and propaganda operation spawned by it, and our government's (at least some of it) role in all that. She had been a bit less skeptical than I am on a lot of things. Now.... she's not so sure. Point being; a lot of nominal conservatives probably "woke up" to the realities we're faced with in dealing with the Feds, the left, and the entities that control them. Ironic though that Dispensationalism completely removes Israel from the Old Testament prophecies and makes much of what the various prophet says refer to events still yet future. Also, I know full preterists, like the late David Chilton, and people like James Stuart Russel (The Parousia) have better arguments for a full eschatological completion than the Dispies have for all of their goofy black helicopter teachings. If YOU owned a social media platform, would YOU allow total uncensored speech? No, you would not, because that's dumb. But you would if you were a Glowie and wanted to create a platform to gather "right wingers" and set them up.
Gab was founded before Musk bought Twitter, back at a time when suggesting that someone might consider voting Republican was consider hate speech and bannable. So the founder set the rule to be "if it's legal to say in the United States, then it's legal to say on this platform". You can disagree with that. Fine, stay away. But imagine what people would say if you had a platform who's rules were "free speech except for saying bad things about Jews". That would be considered proof that all the bullshit people claim was all true. Now, you could say that you're only allowed to say things that don't offend anyone. We know how that works out. - i think he's conflating "grace" and "forgiveness"
- anger is an emotion. Very few people can practice total mastery of their emotions. And I thought we were all supposed to wallow in our emotions as if they were central to our identities, right? Otherwise we're "inauthentic" or some such nonsense? - In the real world, nobody chooses "grace" (forgiveness). That's precisely why we need a justice system of some form or another to keep everyone from exacting vengeance for every slight, real or imagined. It's just a stinky puddle of low-brow Frenchian nanothought masquerating as a High horse. Posted by: Warai-otoko at September 14, 2025 09:02 AM (06Hmj) 223

- "I am not a preterist."
You also seem to think there is only one view on dispensationalism. The one that pre-trib rapturists hold to. That we're in the church age (no such thing-man made term) and God doesn't deal with Israel and the church at the same time. Ergo, church is out of here before the 70th week of Daniel begins. Cont- Posted by: TeeJ at September 14, 2025 09:08 AM (eDPLA) 226
I still maintain, as apparently others as well, there’s no way we heard a .30-06 round in that video. They are like a cannon. The cell phone microphone perfectly captured the light “crack” of a smaller, lighter rifle. Anybody who has familiarized themselves with various calibers upon hearing that did not immediately think “big game hunting rifle”.

That pre-trib view on dispensationalism is an easy strawman to knock down. The historical view however, not so much. Two ages. This current, evil, wicked age and the Kingdom Age to come. To try to shorten this a bit, a proper view on the timing of the rapture - At some point during the 2nd half of Daniel's 70th week. The abomination of desolation has occurred. The entire world is in a time of great tribulation. Christ's return to rescue those who belong to Him and are still alive. Enough time is left in the 70th week for the trumpets and bowls to be poured out. Posted by: TeeJ at September 14, 2025 09:20 AM (eDPLA) Processing 0.03, elapsed 0.029 seconds. |
