Just the News: Charlie Kirk Has Been Murdered, Shooter Still At Large

Just the News says that he has died. They further say that the deranged Democrat arrested at the even is not the shooter, who remains at large.Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk was shot on Wednesday at an event in Utah and has been confirmed dead at the age of 31. Multiple sources confirmed his passing to Just the News. Kirk was speaking at an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. Despite an initial statement from the school confirming that the suspect was in custody, the person initially arrested was apparently not the shooter, who remains at large, CNN reported.President Donald Trump noted his passing:

I know people do not like Ben Shapiro and there are valid reasons but what just happened to Kirk is why I'm hesitant at total condemnation. The US is currently the longest lasting Government that has not significantly changed form... and the reason for that is the genius of some of the Founding Fathers. They KNEW that is you silence legitimate complaints, they will eventually get to the point where they come out in more violent ways.... which is why they enshrined Freedom of Speech.
But the fact is that the Left has used social Judo and a stranglehold on Media, to silence those who are Conservative and actually LIKE the American Culture.

I could get any idiot to make that shot with half an hour of instruction, given a proper, and properly zeroed, tool. The hardest aspect for a case like this for a novice would be "buck fever". You dudes in PA and the upper midwest who have ever watched an army of guys consistently miss know what I mean.

I started listening to Charlie's talk radio show maybe six months ago as it was the replacement locally for Dennis Prager's after the latter had a bad, paralyzing, near-fatal fall in his home.
He really grew on me ... and I admired his courage.
I was however quite put off by the (now sadly ironic) fact that he advertised for the ChiComm PsyOp TikTok -- and to his credit he'd acknowledge that it was a divisive issue with his audience, BUT credited it with helping him reach young people and to help get Trump over the finish line last year.

Modern sporting rifle has about 2 MOA nowadays from the box. 100-200 yards, minimal wind reading, some need to adjust elevation if aiming down, and virtually no bullet drop from a center fire cartridge of moderate power (a bit far for a 22 Hornet for example) but very doable with a 223 or greater. And you have modern optics, mostly stationary target and if the dude was on top shooting downwards, little chance the shot would be blocked. Amphitheaters with tiered seating is a sniper dream if above it shooting towards the stage at a higher elevation. The biggest adjustment would be adjustment for shooting down.
My guess is a homegrown lefty living around Orem. Lots of places around there to practice shooting at different elevations to the target.

That's actually the mistake he made.
He overcompensated for the fact that there's (a wee bit) less bullet drop when shooting from either an elevated or lower position, vs level shooting.
From 200 yards, with an elevation of just "the top of a building" (so say 60 feet), the bullet's drop will be just a fraction of an inch less than it would with no elevation difference. He was hoping for a shot mid-medulla but allowed for 4 inches less drop so aimed 4 inches low; hit 4 inches low in the neck; and got very lucky with a carotid artery bullseye.
Guy's not just evil, he's an under-prepared pud.
