Frames of reference have all changed - for some of us

statues and pepple salute washington.jpg

But for others, the story remains the same

(credit - Statues and the People They Salute)

I don't have much of a "theme" for today's thread. I have been reading from some sources that normally do not catch my attention, but I have had a hard time bringing my thoughts together.

However, I have noticed that lefties on my social media have found it easy to maintain the position that Charlie Kirk was a "hater". For example, this article from The Guardian was framed by some of them as a POSITIVE piece about Charlie Kirk: Virulent debater and clickbait savant: how Charlie Kirk pushed a new generation to the right

What is a virulent debater????

The far-right activist, who was fatally shot this week in Utah, galvanized young conservatives through online antics and inflammatory views

Of course, none of his ideological opponents' views were inflammatory. Nor their debating techniques.

Fortunately, some on the left have been coming around.

Being Inflammatory on Campus

Stephen Green:

WE HAVE A PROBLEM: Student support for violence, bans on ‘controversial’ speech hits ‘record highs’ in annual survey. “More than a third of students would ‘at least rarely’ accept the use of violence to stop a campus speech (34%), 10 percentage points higher than its 2021 survey, while majorities would block other students from attending such a speech (54% versus 41% in 2021) and shout down a speaker (71% from 66%), all ‘record highs.'”

The problem is that the universities accept and teach these attitudes.

*

Are we allowing kids to think that they could become legends for killing people designated as oppressors?

From the comment thread:

They told us that words are violence. That silence is violence. That speech must be policed, feelings must be protected, and disagreement is a form of oppression. But somehow, actual violence? Stabbings, riots, threats, mobs, glorifying terrorism - that gets a free pass. Or worse, a blue check and a book deal. We’re watching the collapse of moral clarity in real time. The same people who light candles every September 11 and post “never forget” are now cheering for movements that chant “globalize the intifada” - a phrase that, in practice, means suicide bombings, knife attacks, and rockets fired at kindergartens. We saw it on October 7. We’ve seen it for 20 years. And yet, those who say “free Palestine” with no qualifiers are treated like moral leaders, while those who raise concerns about Hamas, radical Islam, or jihadist slogans are treated like bigots. Look at who gets promoted. You’ve got an openly radical academic like Mohamed Mamdani - who supported Hamas “resistance,” called the NYPD a terrorist organization, and praised violent uprisings -running for mayor of New York. The city that buried thousands after 9/11 is now seriously entertaining putting a pro-intifada ideologue in charge of its police and schools. This isn’t progress. It’s surrender. And now? We have people getting murdered for the crime of being conservative and for holding the wrong views.

Quotes

Charlie Kirk seemed to be keeping his priorities in mind. Do you remember the few moments when it was thought that he might survive, but be paralyzed, sort of like Dennis Prager? This is Dennis, with some thoughts about Charlie:

As an American, we have lost the most articulate spokesman for America and its unique value system—a country founded to be free, based on Jerusalem and Athens, the Judeo-Christian value system and the Greek emphasis on logic and reason. Charlie was a uniquely gifted individual who, in his teens, created the largest movement of young Americans committed to preserving and growing America and its ideals. He tirelessly went from campus to campus, from Oxford to Utah, dialoging with any student who wished to debate him. Using his vast reservoir of facts and his exceptionally speedy and articulate mind, he gave them what seemed to be unlimited amounts of time, and then calmy eviscerated all their anti-American, anti-Western, and anti-Judeo-Christian positions. I watched an inordinate number of these exchanges and thanked God that Charlie Kirk was there to do this work. America’s youth in particular have lost a moral and intellectual leader, one who would, perhaps, have one day become their president.

As a committed Jew, I thank God regularly that a non-Jew, a committed Christian, became one of the few great public spokesmen on behalf of Israel and the Jewish communities outside of Israel. Few Jews could match Charlie’s knowledge and eloquent arguments on behalf of those two entities.

As Dennis, I have lost a very close friend. Charlie repeatedly visited me in the various hospitals that I have been in since November 12 of last year, when I suffered a catastrophic fall which has left me paralyzed. When members of the nursing staff heard that Charlie Kirk was visiting me, my room became the most popular one in the hospital. Charlie brought me the manuscript of his forthcoming book arguing that everyone—Christians as well as Jews—should observe Shabbat, the Jewish Sabbath, just as he and his family had begun to do from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown. It is a measure of our close relationship that he dedicated the book to me. His brilliant exposition of these arguments provide clear evidence for the non-necessity of a college education for most young Americans.

My heart breaks for his young widow, Erika, and for his two children, who have lost as great a man and a father as children can have. And for Charlie, who did not live to see them grow up. For one of the first times in my 20 years with my wife, Sue, I have seen her sob uncontrollably. The Prager home is in deep mourning, as are the homes of countless Americans. The loss to us personally and to the country generally is immeasurable.

It's all of us. The vast majority on the left hate us and want us dead. They used to be circumspect about pulling the proverbial trigger, but I think we're way past that now.

8 Willowed but relevant to this thread:

X algorithms have decided that I need to be exposed to Charlie Kirk hate. One heavily edited video began with three young people physically fighting over who gets to sit in the chair to debate CK.

The dickhead that prevailed by elbowing some girl, and shoving her away tried to make the argument that XY Chromosomes do not make a person male. His primary argument is that Christians call God "The Father", and thus God is expressed as a man even though He doesn't have XY chromosomes.

CK didn't know how to respond to such tortured absurdity so the young creep shouted out that he 0wned CK and beat him in a debate. (because of editing I have no idea how the exchange really happened/ended)

This is the lunacy that CK had to deal with.

12 Turning Point? HA! The War on Normal People is just getting started! forWAR'd.

As stated many times before:
https://tinyurl.com/EvilsAdvantageOverConscience
....the more brazen and relentless one’s acts of brutality, the more likely it is that one will be allowed a second chance, and find even powerful men of conscience coming to one’s door offering to forget, to forgive, and to give forgiveness a bad name.

The REAL POET Virgil once wrote about how the WORST punishment in Hell was reserved for those whom in times of crisis did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Hell is not the a place you go to after Death. It is the Real World here, now, govern'd by LIB stoopidity which proudly proclaims that 'some' must be sacrificed that others (they) may live, that the will of the people should be in evidence everywhere, yet existent in no one.

That no only must you sponsor your adversaries, but actively defend them as well, to reward the guilty, to Puhsih the Innocent, to Champion the Mediocre the Unworthy and the Depraved on the basis of their Depravity.

they use pity as a weapon, and pity for themselves as a weapon, which, as described above, is evils chief advantage....

The Bible says that their consciences have been seared. Also that the wicked have no shame. (Jer 6:15; 8:12)

So my operating position is that they are amoral and don't care about the optics.

You mention "trigger", and the Left has certainly introduced the idea of being "triggered" and have given us physical evidence to pre trigger and post trigger behavior.

So I think the "want" to kill us is really just a triggered response. That is, if they know you are conservative by reputation they don't want you dead Right Now, but if they discover your leanings based on a red cap or something they overheard you say to a friend that offends them, then they are deciding where to plunge the shiv and can they get away with it.

20 I've been steadily on the verge of tears over the last few days since Charlie was assassinated. Erika's live address last night (thanks Ace for linking to it when you did) broke me. I was both inspired and humbled at the same time. Inspired, because his death is goading me into becoming even more politically active. Humbled, because I want to be the kind of husband that my wife can say the words about me that Erika spoke about Charlie.

Politically, I know that the Left has been trying to raise up their own Joe Rogans, Charlie Kirks, and Scott Preslers. Failing that, I'm afraid they would be happy to go after ours. Through all the performative crocodile tears several (certainly not all!) from the Left are shedding over the loss of Kirk, there must be some that are secretly glad that one of our most powerful chess pieces has been taken off the board.

Although, according to Erika Kirk, they haven't anticipated what they have actually done in making a martyr out of Charlie.

23 Today, I go to my dad's to collect most of the last of belongings I find relevant or meaningful, ending that part of his legacy, whatever it is.

Tomorrow, we have a going away party for his widow, married for 29 years, whom is moving to a different assisted living facility in another state, hours and hours away. I was not a huge fan of hers, I have my reasons, but she proved she was in it for better or worse as my dad was hell on her for the better part of 10+ years. My step-sister has proven to be a largely selfish and worthless c*nt, honestly.

They murdered Charlie Kirk this week, the day before 9/11 memorials, and each side blames the other, only one, though, pulling the trigger and taking no responsibility for it whatsoever.

Life is already hard. Now, it's really starting to suck. I pray for guidance and strength, not just for me, but for everyone.

25 It occurred to me this morning that Charlie Kirk was the literal, physical, intellectual and spiritual antithesis of the Left. In every characteristic and expression he was their total opposite. Joyful, confident, constructive, enterprising, kind, embracing of dialogue, successful, Christian -- in any way you wish to break it down -- he was their total inversion.

Given this truth, given the fact he sought out interactions with them in such a way as to highlight these opposing characteristics, the strengths of his arguments and the weakness of theirs, his mere existence could only be a humiliation for them. Charlie never consciously tried to humiliate anybody. It didn't matter. It was simply a function of who he was and who they are, their narcissistic, insecure and pathological profile. This kind of inescapable humiliation was intolerable. It had to follow that the only answer, the only response, was to eliminate him.

This is and always will be the price they will try to make us -- or the best fighters among us -- pay.

Nah.

The democidal excesses of the left go to their very roots, from which "the left" came as a descriptor in France. Decades of spastic, gleeful murder in Russia, Spain, China, Cambodia, Cuba, and so on are not consequences of the ideology. It is THE END GOAL IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Leftism has one tenet: what is right, is defined by what leftists want or do in the moment, and they have a perpetual, non-negotiable right to rule by all and any means. And it's not that they really feel any one policy is correct, it's that this is the single most effective path to enabling pillage, rape, and murder on a massive scale.

It is the ultimate expression of psychotic hatred for fellow man, and the pure will to gleefully exercise all manner of power. It is Calvinball, on a pyramid of 160 million skulls.

There is a pitched information battle between the globalists and the nationalists taking place right now - and it's been going on for years, ever since Brexit and Trump's election in 2016. 37 This is and always will be the price they will try to make us -- or the best fighters among us -- pay.

Dr Albert Mohler, president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary had a motivating sermon titled "Does the Devil Know Your Name?" It was based on the passage in Acts (19:13-16) where the sons of the Jewish priest Sceva were attempting an exoricsm when the demons within said "Jesus I know, and Paul I recognize, but who are you?" and then proceeded to beat the hell into these guys.

The development of the message was to be such a pain in the rear to Hell that they will go all out to "sift you like wheat" like Satan demanded of Christ to do to His disciples, or what was demanded of God concerning Job.

CK was known very well, by name and deed in Hell. Of course they had to come after CK and destroy him.

I think it's a lot of very loud, very twisted people who think that way. But is it really a majority?
There may be a sizable number on the left who just want to be left alone, same as us. They disagree with us about how to achieve similar goals and solve the same problems. But, they're throwbacks being drowned out by the crazy and evil. Doesn't mean that they aren't there. They could be the silent majority on that side. The folks that are publicly walking away from the Democrat party appear to be from that cohort. So they do exist. But are their number greater than the crazy/evil cohort?
Or, perhaps, the sane/sensible group are fleeing in numbers so large that the crazy/evil do outnumber them now.

I don't pretend to have the answer. I just don't think everyone left of center is crazy and evil and want to kill anyone and everyone who doesn't agree with them.

Americans to commit themselves to the American values for which Charlie Kirk and the monster who attacked him was attacking our whole country. An assassin tried to silence him with a bullet, but he failed. Because together we will ensure that his voice, his message, and his legacy will live on for countless
generations to come..

53 To know that Charlie Kirk heard, "Well done, thy good and faithful servant," gives me some joy for him. I am still grappling with grief, though. Someone on X last night said that he almost pitied the demons who celebrated Kirk's death because his lieutenants are harder right than he was.

54 I have a sense, just a little tingle, that shooting Charlie Kirk has um, changed the minds of a lot of moms.

The development of the message was to be such a pain in the rear to Hell that they will go all out to "sift you like wheat" like Satan demanded of Christ to do to His disciples, or what was demanded of God concerning Job.

I love Al Mohler's preaching, he's been a great force for Christ over the years.

I have been trying for the past few years to be more conspicuously Christian. Not performative or going out street preaching, but just being more obviously a child of God. Praying before meals, etc.

hither by thy help I’m come;

One of my all time favorite hymns.

Let that grace now, like a fetter,
bind my wandering heart to thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
prone to leave the God I love;
here’s my heart; O take and seal it;
seal it for thy courts above.

There are a few similar restaurants where I am. I don’t know specifically what the owners said about Charlie, I can only imagine. They always have signs in their windows pushing the latest thing. But they do good buisness because they found a niche market. Overall the area is 65-35 right/left. They cater to that 35 and it works for them.

68 My doctor office had MSNBC on while I was waiting for my appointment yesterday. At the time (9:45am), they had on a guest who was talking about the possible coincidence that the sniper shot Charlie Kirk right after he started answering a question about mass shootings committed by "trans" people.

He said that his sources told him that Charlie Kirk had been speaking for about 10 minutes already, but it was not until he started answering this question that the shot was taken. So he said that it would be good for law enforcement to interview that person who asked the question to find out if there was any coordination there or it was just coincidence.

I would say they also need to call in for questioning the two people standing behind Charlie Kirk to his right, who seemed to be making signals right before the shot was taken.

“Otherization” of the enemy. This is done through the press and academia. Eventually legislation. This has been going on for decades in the US, though much less covertly, but ever increasing in tone and stridency.

Sarajevo, Yugoslavia hosted the Olympics one year, everything must be fine, more or less, right? Well not really. Like a switch being thrown, it was under artillery siege within a year or two and lasted for a couple years.

If you wanted to go shopping, it was zig-zagging and low crawling. Barter for every day items that were hard to find or impossible to get. All the landscaping in residential areas was gone, burned in fireplaces for warmth. Things can go sideways with astonishing speed. Maybe that’s the default. “Slowly at first. Then all at once.”

Dhimmis were allowed to keep lives and property but I my at the discretion of the rulers. As individual the Islamic legal systems such as the Ottomans, they were treated as inferior to Muslims in any interfaith dispute. Some ottoman rulers were worse than others about that. We know less about the Abbasid caliphs as far as legal disputes because much of the documents remaining are in Arabic and much has been destroyed since the Middle Ages.

This does not even include the terrorist attacks on Tesla dealerships and people's cars. And they were terrorist attacks, as they were politically motivated violence.

And the violence did not stop due to anyone in the Democrat party or left asking people to stop (as none of them, as far as I know, did so), but only because Tesla vehicles have cameras and were catching these people in the act. And people were subsequently arrested and prosecuted.

President Trump could take this back to 2020 as well with all the burning-looting-murdering by BLM and antifa. This radical domestic terrorism has been raging for at least 5-10 years.

But practically speaking the most important thing is whether Trump and co. can implement what the boss has already articulated as their goal, to dismantle, defund, and destroy the $$ networks that fund pantyfa et al, and pursue criminal prosecution where appropriate.

The big idea on the left is that Obama's election signaled that Marxists controlled everything and they could drop all the disguises. That's why they talk about the 2016 election the way the Palestinians talk about 1948. Then in 2020 they thought they once again had permanent power (all the experts said so!) and dropped even more disguises, and the result is now, where Trump's performed an unprecedented gutting of the government/Marxist NGO money pipeline and is now talking about RICO charges against George and Alex Soros.

152 Something to ponder upon:

How is the Left side of aisle handling the current state of affairs? What is their strategy to turn around the onslaught that has recognized their contribution to the current state of poisoned affairs?

It's very telling that the most over the hill with nothing to lose politician made their case for them (poorly). Nancy Pelosi was their choice, and she got brutally ripped apart in response. Bernie Sanders produced a video the day before, and tried the same message (the right is just as culpable as the left, and MORE violent). His prime focus was the attempted Whitmer Kidnapping case (which was pure entrapment and manipulation of half-wits by the FBI).

That should tell you something. They have no idea how to counter this. And no one with a potential political future ahead of them wants to stick their heads up.

I think their strategy so far is to say that Charlie Kirk deserved it, because he was a Nazi and all his hateful rhetoric.

That's what I am seeing from politicians' statements and leftist statements. That's the consensus response. There are some who are trying to "soften" those statements by prefacing them with "I do not agree with assassinations BUT..." and then listing out things they claim Charlie Kirk said which made him a danger and a Nazi in their eyes.

209 Problem for the oppo is they have no Trump, or Vance, or Charlie Kirk, because how could they? The practical application of their policies has been proved as disastrous for society time and time again, and their moral framework is based on celebrating dysfunction and obvious untruths. How WOULD you logically convince someone that gender is a choice? Or Chicago was built by Indians and slaves? Or that in 2025 every black person is in mortal danger every day from roving bands of white racists? All that is simply and obviously not true and their only power is threatening consequences if you don't submit and lie with them. All of their political leaders are obviously mostly interested in riches and perks and are chosen by how badly they want 1% status without possession of any skill beyond the ability to lie with a straight face. We have no idea who actually controls their movement and it's obviously not the leaders we see as they show no ability to do so.

At the time the asylums were closed I don't think the left was even aware of what we'd be seeing today. Transgender nutters assassinating people and generally being a nuisance/danger to society. Sure, some of them were dangerously insane, but the majority of the patients back then were suffering from a different form of psychosis. I mean, there weren't that many trans people and if they were... they were likely heavily medicated and on suicide watch 24/7.

The left stigmatized mental illness and by the 21st century has normalized/rationalized insane behavior as mainstream. And something to be championed.

Yes, Charlie Kirk has authored a book specifically focused on the Sabbath, titled Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life. This book explores the biblical practice of observing the Sabbath (which Kirk personally kept as a tech-free day from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown, drawing from his evangelical Christian background with influences from Jewish traditions). It argues that honoring the Sabbath fosters rest, reduces anxiety, strengthens family bonds, and serves as a "rebellion against busyness" in modern life.Key DetailsPublication Status: The book was in the final stages of preparation at the time of Kirk's death on September 10, 2025, and is now set for a posthumous release on December 9, 2025, by Winning Team Publishing (founded by Donald Trump Jr.).

Sources tell me the FBI had texts and other communications between Robinson and the individual that helped FBI authorities solidify that Robinson was indeed the shooter

255 It argues that honoring the Sabbath fosters rest, reduces anxiety, strengthens family bonds, and serves as a "rebellion against busyness" in modern life.

This is something that even Christians don't seem to consider these days. Taking a day off is a blessing from God, it is mandated for us, not as a cruel imposition or limitation on our fun. There are 10 commandments, not 9.

I still recommend very strongly that everyone take one day off from social media a week. And from your non-essential labors. One day.

256 The tragedy of King is that he did not live long enough to destroy his own reputation. He was not a good man in his private life (a pastor stepping out on his wife is hooboy territory). If he'd lived to support all the terrible causes the black civil rights movement embraced after his assassination, he'd probably have a reputation on par with Al Sharpton. Martyrdom is more or less what King has going for him.

257 One could cover this sort of thing fairly. Kirk was a strong advocate for conservative principles who debated left wing adherents on campus or something like that.

But the FNM decided long ago anyone right of center was divisive and anyone left of center was a uniter which BY DEFINITION makes no sense.

I saw one of those brief vids, some cute girl is at the microphone, and she's complaining that Charlie keeps cutting her off, citing data. She says he won't stop talking for five seconds.

So Charlie sits back, mouth closed. She continues to complain that he won't let her speak. This goes on for... I don't know, two minutes? Everyone behind the girl is laughing and cheering. Finally, they ask her to give up the mic.

When Charlie does speak, he tells the guys in the audience, "Guys, if you see this kind of gal, run!" Or something like that.

Absolute abhorrent and ill informed comment in the first instance that an inchoate apology doesn’t begin to cover.

Rush Limbaugh had all his show transcripts on his website for anyone to access. Didn't stop people on the left and the right from getting their news about what he said from other sources which smeared him and took him out of context.

I was fed up with ace numerous times over the years when he fell for the BS and turned on Rush over stuff the Left claimed he had said.

The same thing is going on now with Charlie Kirk. The Left does it, because they know it works because most people are too lazy to go to the source and prefer to rely on quick snippets and summaries from biased sources.

Yes, I said the Civil Rights Act of 1964 was a huge mistake — not because I support discrimination, but because it exploded the size of government. Title II forced private businesses to serve everyone, which sounds nice, but it set a precedent for endless mandates. We've got the IRS enforcing wokeness now. If MLK [Martin Luther King Jr.] saw what it's become — affirmative action quotas, DEI training forced down our throats — he'd be rolling in his grave. We needed change in the '60s, absolutely, but not this federal leviathan."

The Civil Rights Act was a huge mistake. It’s one of the worst things we’ve ever done. It’s led to all sorts of government overreach. It’s why we have DEI [diversity, equity, and inclusion] today. It’s why we have affirmative action. It’s why we have all these crazy things where the government tells private businesses who they can hire and serve.

I’m not saying segregation was good — obviously it was evil and wrong — but the way we fixed it was even worse. We should have let the free market handle it. Boycotts, private pressure — that would have ended it faster without giving the feds this power. Now we can’t even run our own businesses without Big Brother looking over our shoulder."

I was predisposed to not like because of her too made up face, but she tells some truth, despite her posh, received English accent. She does indulge in bothsiderism: yeah far right skinhead Nazis might indulge in political violence, but where are they? Other than in prison gangs? And she makes it too complicated: what killed Charlie Kirk? A .30-06 bullet. Why was Charlie Kirk killed: because he used reason to persuade people to his side. Why do people celebrate his death? Because they think killing people who persuade others with reason to think differently than the current Leftist shibboleths is a crime worthy of execution. The Leftist who celebrate Charlie’s death need to be persuaded that doing so is unacceptable, but they need not be persuaded by reason, since they are incapable of it. Fire them. Put them up on charges, federal if need be. Try them in Kirk sympathetic districts with Kirk sympathetic judges. Let them suffer for their heinous acts and stands, and let the rest of them see it and know that’s what can happen to them too if they do the like.

This is hard to quanitfy. The left's reaction to Kirk getting murdered makes it clear what the left thinks of us. But what happened to Zarutska is HOW the left has been killing them.

The motivations for the enablers are the same, the methods are different. The two combined are making people realize what is up, and who these people really are.

Charlie was out, actively sticking his neck out to fight for all the people out there who are pouring out support right now. Across the world, people are suffering under very similar bullshit to what we're dealing with here. Unaccountable governments. Illegitimate "nobility". Draconian laws for plebes and total immunity for the connected. And the lies. Lies, lies, lies, all day every day in every country on earth. It's not just Americans who are sick of this shit. Posted by: Warai-otoko at September 13, 2025 02:22 PM (06Hmj)

294 The two killings are both important for different reasons. Iryna Zarutska was killed because she was too trusting, white, and pretty, even in work clothes. It points out black racism against whites “I got that white girl!” and reminds us that the criminally insane should be institutionalized (as opposed to executed). Charlie Kirk’s death was based on the justification from the Left that “bad thought” needs to be suppressed, by killing the “bad thinker” if need be. I see that as the more serious crime by its implications. I also think in passing that the university Charlie was talking at is partly to blame by not providing a secure site for the discussion. The universities are run, for the most part, by Leftists and typically give short shrift to security concerns from right-wing speakers. It is a tribute to Charlie Kirk’s bravery that he chose to speak anyway. I hope and pray that insouciant attitude from university administrators changes for the better going forward.

The development comes as Fox and the New York Post say Tyler Robinson was living with a "transgender partner."

It's unclear at the moment if Twiggs is the transgender partner that Fox and the NYP are referring to however Twiggs' grandfather refused to deny the report.

"I don’t want to comment on that. I’m not sure what his situation is exactly right now," the grandfather, Jerry, said.

"After he was with the police, he’s been at his house, and there’s no way for us to contact him other than going over there."

Twiggs reportedly handed over incriminating text messages to the FBI, according to the outlet.

Iryna was killed because someone let loose many criminals, hoping they'd kill someone. It was no less intentional, just more indiscriminate.

It is showing people the truth of WHY that animal was free, and is the real message behind "Kirk was shot because they don't know our names".

Yeah, they don't shoot those of us they don''t know - they just create the conditions for animals to slaughter us, and do the work for them.

308 Charlie or Iryna ?

The same talking heads on the MSM mocked and/or supported the killing of both.

- Charlie was killed because he spoke up - after some meticulous planning.
- Irnya was killed because what she looked like and was there - virtually instantly on the spot.

Together the talking heads show that it's OK to be killed because you said something, but even if you say nothing it is still OK.

327 I was a default leftist all through my undergraduate and graduate training and during my postdoc with the Navy (wound up doing my postdoc with the NRL). I only began to question my political leanings when I began to see what low lives so many dedicated Leftists really were (I was not dedicated: I was a “default” leftist). That and the political oppression of scientific ideas that I first saw at the NRL (it had to do with CO2 as the prime greenhouse gas - it’s not, but that’s a topic for another time). I got my tenure just about the time I had become a right leaning thinker: listening to Rush Limbaugh really helped. Later, the chair of my tenure committee, a rare black physicist who had helped hire me, told me that if he knew how I would turn out (right wing) he wouldn’t have let me get tenure. There is a reason right wing thinkers speak in cautious, hushed tones in the university!

Love this: The Charlie Kirk assassination is inspiring Americans who have been afraid to speak

“My name is John. I have practically no online presence, and the reason for that is because I am scared to post things that I believe or really care about because I worry about what people will think of me. I am worried about missing out on opportunities because of an online footprint.

Yesterday, a man died. Presumably because he believed the same things that I believe in. I am a conservative and more importantly, I'm a Christian. I believe wholeheartedly that Jesus Christ is my Lord and Savior, that he died from our sins and rose again, and that he is God.

I know that in the grand scheme of things, I don't really matter. No one knows or even cares who I am. But If there's even one person who sees this and gains the courage to speak up themselves, that's why I'm making this. Just so that everybody knows that we're not alone.”
