The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition
The Palestinian people do not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity… Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct ‘Palestinian people’ to oppose Zionism. Yes, the existence of a separate Palestinian identity exists only for tactical reasons.
But it has become an incredibly powerful tool for Islam, and its newly ascendant drive to dominate the West and create a worldwide Caliphate. Of course, that desire has never flagged, but the ebb and flow of power and religion and technological and cultural advancement (and its lack in the Arab/Muslim world) has conspired to prevent Islam from acquiring the means to destroy Christianity, Hinduism, and Judaism. That has changed: Oil revenue, the revolution in transportation, the internet and its instant worldwide connectivity, and most of all the post-modern decay of the West has allowed militant Islam (is there any other kind?) unprecedented access to the West; both physically through immigration, and virtually, through the internet and the purchase of influence with oceans of oil revenue. And the "Palestine" question is the tip of the spear of Islam. They use the issue to cow weak-willed Western governments into vilifying Israel, which paradoxically is the one Western country that is fighting Islam's expansion! They use their millions of followers in the West as violent signals of what Islam is capable of...mobilizing them for often violent street protests that are designed to frighten the populace and signal to the political classes that they must support Islam, because it is growing, it is violent, and it will vote! Those carefully choreographed mass prayers in Western cities? Why do they pray in the streets when they have perfectly good mosques available? They are flexing! When thousands of Muslims block traffic near the Vatican for their performative street theater of prayer, in spite of Rome having a 12,000 person mosque, it is for one thing...to signal to the world that the West, Christianity, Catholicism, and the Pope are targets. "Palestine" is an excuse. The Arab world finds the so-called Palestinians to be more trouble than they are worth, and much prefer that they remain in Gaza and Judea and Samaria (or immigrate to the West). Just look at Egypt...right next to Gaza, yet their border is tightly controlled and impassable, and they are serious about keeping the Gazans out of Egypt! But as a tool to destroy Israel? Absolutely. And as a tool with which to intimidate Western politicians who are willing to feed that crocodile? Fantastic! Until the West realizes that Islam is a revolutionary political philosophy that uses an ersatz religion to control its adherents, and that its goal is world domination, we will continue to lose ground. The recent summit of China, India, and Russia is in stark contrast to the West's inability to see Islam as it is, rather than as it wishes to be seen. China controls its Muslim population with an iron fist. India has a simmering conflict with Pakistan and regularly cracks down on its Muslim population, and Russia has no illusions about Islam's goals. Pick up an early 1960s encyclopedia for the letter "P". There will be no entry for "Palestine" in most of them. In the one or two that did have an entry for "Palestine", it merely says that Palestine is a region--there is no mention of statehood or government and no claims made that the "region" has or was "stolen".

I have a theory that Muslims hate Jews on a visceral level just for being Jews, but that they hate Christians for their theology. The idea of a humble Jesus being crucified instead of fighting back makes them crazy, and they really hate the sign of the cross.

His lawyer will tell him to make a plea for Life in Prison, because murder of a child is one of the Death Penalty offenses in Texas. I doubt there will be a trial.

For the most part, leaving the house to engage in fighting with the intruder slides over into mutual combat rather than repelling an assault. The caveat is protection of others from assault such as a perp trying to snatch one's child out of the front yard or some such. Or you are engaging with people using long arms who do a tactical retreat but keep shooting at your house (aka gang banger drive bys). Prevention of arson of your domicile might also be justified.

Believe it or not, it is actually required for an entryway door to open inward. There are some good reasons for that (snow and ice) but I always thought a solid door and hinges and good locks make sense.

We had some drunk Hispanic dude try to kick in our front door early New Year's morning a few years ago. My son and I put our full combined weight against the door while my wife called the cops. They came and hauled the guy away. He was pretty short, and my son and I are both tall, so even had he succeeded in getting into the house the two of us could've easily subdued him.

There are very few, if any circumstances where someone should exit the house and shoot at people.
Yeah, chasing an actual home invader down the street and shooting him in the back as he flees (while fine by me honestly) could easily lead to a charge. The law is kind of unrealistic about self defense (if you ask me), but anyone who does this is almost certainly going to experience the joy that is the criminal justice system.

The best case take away of the clot shots is this is the biggest fuckup in American scientific history.

Whether or not you feel they need to be punished, nowadays warning shots or even brandishing are NOT the way to do it unless you want to be charged.
Better off using cameras, etc. and other passive means to retaliate by reporting it to the cops. My advice so YMMV.

No such thing as never - he could be running away and getting ready to shoot someone in front of him (see every NY perp running from the cops)...he could be shooting back blindly at you, possibly striking anything and anyone...he could be rounding up his gang to come back (Mikey, Mikey, I need you to back me up and shoot that guy)...he could have just turned around (so you thought you were shooting the front). Almost none of our knowledge, works, buildings, etc... will even leave remnants without constant maintenance. There'd be almost zero evidence of an advanced civilization being destroyed.

If there was an earlier civilization than Sumer, Harappa, etc., then it probably was on par with those places, not a massively advanced global one.

Just my luck but on day 3 of doing the same thing at the same time I got the house of a young angry dad who was waiting in between houses.
And the race was on! He whiffed on the open tackle and I made a break across the street and through back yards. Little did I know about the terraced yard I was running through and I felt this guys hand on my shirt just as I also felt nothing under my feet. Kept running cartoon style, with legs churning upon the air, and felt this guys hand on my foot, then heard an "ooof" and the chase was over.

Warning shots are a terrible idea re: the man because in many environments, gunshots are, well, very noticeable.
Brandishing on the other hand is situational. Far more bullshit gets stopped in its tracks with some judicious brandishing than by verbal threats or actual violence. They key is you have to understand where/when to do it such that the other party isn't going to report it; and if they call your bluff you're going to have to be ready to shoot them - and make up some bullshit about how they started it, presuming you can't just GTFO entirely and wash your hands of it.

Bingo. This is a fairly recent legal issue in self defense as well as tightening up brandishing statutes/common law but this interpretation of self defense law has spread remarkably to almost every jurisdiction.
And by firing one, you can create the opposite of what you wish--they now have reason to consider YOU a lethal threat to their lives. Especially if it is something stupid like Ding Dong Ditch or simple trespass and they are fleeing.

Police now commonly subpoena social media and seize computers, phones, etc. in the course of investigations of serious crimes and those can be used by a malicious prosecutor to paint your character into a particular bloodthirsty villain. Similarly, putting cute sayings on your pistolas or rifles, putting up signs that jokingly suggest violence for trespass, and so on, are problems.
Even handloading your self defense ammo (messing up GSR is a known issue with handloads) can be and has been brought up along with choice of weapons.

As I start running the star running back from the high school busts out the door and takes chase after me. My buddy is laughing his ass off as he rides away just faster than I can run. I get caught of course. Tortured for a bit and drug to my house by my shirt. To be presented to... my babysitter who also happened to be his sister.
Then my mom and dad got home.
The rest is a blur but I never ditched THAT house again nor let Rick be the one to hold my bike for me.

Has to be from a list of enumerated felonies--aka ones that include violence--burglary is not one of those.

(B) unlawfully and with force removed, or was attempting to remove unlawfully and with force, the actor from the actor’s habitation, vehicle, or place of business or employment; or

Reading one statutory provision without considering ALL the statutory provisions for a particular crime is not wise. Likewise, caselaw in many states actually undercuts many of those provisions which modern courts have considered dated. There is a lot of old law based on before police and law enforcement was widely available regarding citizen's arrest, apprehension of felons,etc.
A cautionary example is the Ahmaud Arberry case in Georgia where the plain language of the Civil War era statute was ignored by judges and the three guys are spending most of their remaining days on Earth in prison because of it. Georgia consequently changed its law regarding citizen arrests and the state judges capitulated due to public pressure and threat of federal intervention.
