Mortgage Fraudster and Apparently Unfirable Proud Black Woman Lisa Cook has filed a lawsuit against Trump, asking a federal judge to, get this, issue an injunction forbidding him from firing her.
An injunction from a lowly district court judge telling the president he was not allowed to use his presidential powers...? Why, I never thought I'd see the day. This is a tricky case... except it's not that tricky. The Fed system is supposedly "independent" but the problem with that is that it's actually unconstitutional to have an "executive" branch department that is independent of the Chief Executive. "The power of the Executive shall be vested in a President," the Constitution says. All of the power. There is no such thing as an executive branch department who's power does not ultimately derive from the President himself. The law says that Trump cannot fire Fed staffers, except in specific circumstances, such as... "For cause." Trump's notice of termination stated that he had cause. The cause is 'cause she committed mortgage fraud. It's absurd for Lisa Cook, who is an official with the nation's bank and who also provably committed mortgage fraud and victimized the federal government itself, to claim that the president lacks "cause" to fire her. But that's what she's claiming. She is a Proud Black Woman and that means you're not allowed to fire her, ever, for any reason, bigot. And as for that provable mortgage fraud...? Her lawsuit is 24 pages and doesn't address it. She never denies that she committed mortgage fraud. But she would like a liberal judge to enjoin the president from firing her.Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook is suing to keep her job on the board, which helps set interest rates, after President Donald Trump said he was removing her from her role earlier this week. But if she's lying -- if she doesn't live there at all, but just claims she does on a form -- then the odds of a default are much, much higher, and she has avoided having this risk priced in to her mortgage rate through deception. The Fed report warned further that people engaging in this kind of mortgage fraud are speculating in the real estate market and therefore will engage in "strategic defaults" -- I think they mean, they won't default when they can't pay, they'll default just when it's in their financial interests to default. And a Fed governor engaged in this fraud! New developments Ace, Bill Pulte has sent a second referral to teh DOJ regarding a THIRD property in Mass with the same rental strategy while declaring to the mortgage company that it was for 2nd home owner occupied. Plus, when she was nominated to the Fed, she had to file ethics reports on assets. She indicated that the Mass home was for investment purposes. From Pulte press release.

And it's really simple. Murk makes herself a target when her state should be sending someone at least quiet and a backbencher doing leadership's bidding.
Collins is the posterchild for "the only Republican who can win in Maine".

Not really. I own a couple of rentals. I acquired them as I moved out of them I to another home and kept them as rentals.
I have several friends who did likewise. And I know several people who own vacation homes. It’s really not that uncommon. Think of all the millions of beach homes or ski condos or lake cabins out there. Along with condos and homes for rent by individuals. There aren’t enough “wealthy” people out there for them to be the only ones to own them.

yeah I tried it. Took the bike out a few days ago figuring its transportation, so productive neutral. I made the mistake of stopping at the shop and then finding out a blinker module for the bike I was riding came in and ended up installing it while I was there. Foiled. Took the bike out yesterday, stopped at the shop again, ended up doing a parts list, then I touched a few tools. Foiled again. Can't be unproductive if I stay home, too much shit around here for me to tinker with, and if I leave it doesn't seem to matter. I have to redefine my bottom level as mildly productive. I would have to be chained to a wall to achieve full unproductive.

Some lefties will tell you it is a myth that people used to be almost universally thin.
It kind of is- there have always been overweight people, especially as you age and become less active. I will say we have more overweight children now and it is not rocket science to figure out why. Running around outside and being feral children is not a thing. Technology has a part, being afraid to let your kids go outside because of a boogie man potential, both parents working so children are in after school care instead of coming home, getting a snack, and heading outside. Our society is not conducive to focus on exercise or taking time to prepare healthy meals. My solution? A commune where kids are feral and we all cook for each other.
I am so kidding. But only the last part.

Prior to 1913, a dollar in 1789 was worth slightly more than a dollar in purchasing power. Since 1913, a dollar today is worth about 3 cents in 1913 as far as purchasing power.
Conclusion, the Fed does not work for price stability nor for a sound currency.

Oh! And instead of Labor intensive factory jobs with built in exercise, more people are at desks, and then can’t or don’t want to hit a gym after working all day - you have to go get the kids, do homework, eat dinner. We really are too sedentary as a whole.
