Texas Approves Redistricting Map
The Texas State House on Wednesday passed a new congressional map, blasting through a Democratic roadblock in a bid to bolster the GOP's chances of holding onto the U.S. House next year. The map passed the Republican-controlled House in a 88-52 vote, setting up a new look for the upcoming 2026 midterm elections with the addition of five Republican-leaning congressional districts in the Lone Star State. Still, the map must make its way through the Texas State Senate before it lands on Gov. Greg Abbott's desk.It has since cleared the Senate.
Abbott pushed for the creation of a new map to adhere to President Donald Trump's desire to not see a repeat of the 2018 election cycle, when Democrats handily regained the majority in the House and acted as a foil to the president's legislative desires toward the end of his first term. While Republicans control a supermajority in deep-red Texas and already passed the map through the state Senate, Democrats still needed to create a quorum in the House to actually move the process along. ... Texas House Democrats accused the GOP of crafting a map that was illegal and racially discriminatory, and they tried and failed on the House floor to add amendments to the bill that would have halted the process. Despite Democrats' best efforts, Texas House Republicans shot down a dozen amendments to the bill.Democrats continued to embarrass themselves, however. The Texas police kept watch on the Democrats -- they're legally obligated to arrest any legislator who refuses to come to the state house. The runaway Democrats were offered a choice: Sign an authorization allowing Texas law enforcement to keep an eye on you while the House is in session, or you'll be kept at the State House until its business is finished. One black female Democrat refused to sign the form, and then dramatically claimed she was being held prisoner in the State House. She could have gone home if she allowed a cop to stay outside her house in a car, to make sure she didn't flee again. Instead, she chose Theater Kid Bullshit. Also, in Greg Foreman's clip about her boohoo whinin' and cryin' about a forced sleepover at the State House, she was asked why Democrats fled the state. She answered: "Slaves fled from their masters. Jews fled their oppressors." No, really. Watch the whole thing.
White House officials reportedly have been pressing Indiana state legislators to move forward with drawing new maps. The Hoosier State currently sends seven Republicans and two Democrats to the House in addition to its two Republicans senators. Democrat Rep. Frank Mrvan, representing the 1st District, is the most likely to see his home district disappear. Monday afternoon, Rep. Marlin Stutzman (R-IN) became the first member of Indiana's congressional delegation to publicly call for Indiana to move towards new maps. "Democrats have proven they will use every tool available to them to gain and keep power," Stutzman posted on X. "For years, Republicans have idly stood by while the Left has weaponized government against us. It's time for us to drop the gloves. At this moment, our state has the opportunity to give conservative Hoosiers the representation in DC they deserve. I stand with President Trump, it's time to redraw Indiana's congressional map!" By Monday evening, Indiana's other six Republican members of Congress had joined Stutzman. But the action must take place in the state's capital of Indianapolis. In a sign of his seriousness, Trump reportedly invited Republican members of the state legislature to the White House in late August, where he is expected to put pressure on legislators to complete the proposed redistricting effort.

Well there were not enough Minority Majority district.
So with outside help (I assume Biden DoJ) they proceeded to create Districts with Minority Majorities by combining precincts that had high minority counts (I believe 60% was the threshold) so that 3 Precincts with 60% Hispanic and 3 Precincts with 60% Black were added together.
Clearly this was in violation of the Voting Rights Acts laws that stated the Minorities cannot be diluted when they are the Majority in a region or city that is part of a Congressional District. In 4 cases, 9, 18, 29, and 33, there was never a Minority District.

Persily used to be a Stanford professor. Now he applies his partisanship from Columbia University. What happens is that the State Supreme courts of various states will shoot down Republican redistricting plans, then hire Persily to come in and redraw it...despite the act being contrary to the State's Constitution saying only the Legislature can re-district. Pennsylvania and North Carolina are two of the states Persily (and a left leaning SSC) have rigged. And, the USSC refused to hear PA's case on it.

California's congressional delegation consists of 83% Democratic seats, despite Democrats receiving only 58% of the presidential vote in the state. Un gerrymandering would net us +10 seats.
Illinois - 14 Democrats and 3 Republicans out of 17 total House seats. Illionois is 44% republican. Ungerrymander, we would get 8 seats, a +4 gain.
Want the five Texas seats back? Let's make a trade.

Possibly but you have the burden of proof to show animus to the degree of objective irrationality. Difficult to do.
If you can show a racial bias, however, then the burden of proof flips back to the state to prove that the redistricting was not due to racial animus.
It is just that the DoJ has rarely stirred itself up to protect whites versus other minorities in court. Harmeet Dhillon fired a bunch of long time Dem activists disguised as objective lawyers in her Civil Rights division so that may change.

Throwing this out: perhaps we need to look at voters having more than one rep. Voters get a rep for their physical district, which would be narrowly defined, and not subject to gerrymandering. And then they get a rep for their occupation or station in life. They get to pick one from a list, and they have to demonstrate some affinity. Welfare bums get a rep. Millionaires and wealthier get a rep. Wage earners get a rep. Professions get a rep, and so on. Retirees get a rep.

Trump’s efforts to rip illegal aliens out of the system root and branch will pay off in many ways. Watch as the numbers on SS improve, and the draw on federal benefit programs like Medicaid shrink. It will shrink even more once the lawsuit by 20 Dem states refusing to hand over data on recipients is resolved in the administrations favor. Not only will the programs get cleaned up, but along with cutting those illegal aliens out of the census, those blue states will either have to find illegals themselves or watch a massive population drop as this people leave/get the boot.

Other executive suite officers demonstrate working at such companies as Nearly Dead Lobster and other stellar examples of corporate malfeasance. The one thing you have to admire about corporate America is how they thoroughly recycle POS corporate executives from other failed companies as it to share their destructiveness to other companies.

Best case, realistic scenario is, I think, the mid-decade census shows the sheer size of the illegal population. Vance wins the presidency in 2028 and continues the massive deportation efforts.
The foreign born population in the US goes down by 30 million or so by 2030.
And, it's largely a nonfactor in the counting by that point.

“Undocumented immigrant” is the immigration equivalent of “they/them.”
DHS has no interest in the left’s open borders pronouns. “Alien” is the technical legal term, and that is what DHS will use. “Illegal” is the only way to correctly describe lawbreakers.

My favorite - don't know if it was COPS or internet - deputy flashes lights on guy who's drunk and on his riding lawnmower on the road. They clearly know each other, since they call each other by first name, and the deputy is saying "bobby, come down off that thing or I'm gonna taze you!" and bobby obviously refusing and just talking crap. So he gets tazed, and hits the ground like a ton of bricks.
Next line "oh man, you made me crap my pants!!!"

Trump would have had to pay a total of more than $500 million, including more than $100 million in interest, had the February 2024 ruling from Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron been upheld.
.. When this case was heard by the New York Appeals Court, it descended into a discussion as to whether and who might be sanctioned by the court for a case so stupid that it was a waste of the courts time.
