Its being referred to as vintage farmhouse style. Hubbymayhem and I had lunch at the one in Bloomington last week. The new decor is bland and boring. I liked all of the stuff on the walls that made it look like an old country store. But at the same time... I had a habit of muttering, " glad I don't have to clean the dust off of all this junk". I was playing golf one fine afternoon. One of our foursome had had a bad few holes and cane up to the next tee fuming. He tees up and gets set when I quietly say, "You're in front of the markers." He looks, sees I'm right and in a fury resets his ball and takes his shot. Bam! Right in the lake. I felt like I'd been on vacation for three weeks. Company is in a lot of trouble. Revising a logo and refreshing stores won't help. It's got a major customer problem: its core customers are mostly older fuddy-duddies who don't mind the old-fashioned decor and the lack of booze. But that's a declining market. The younger generations just ain't feeling the vibe.
IIRC, they also pissed off their older base by sucking gay pride tranny girldick. So fuck em'. Bankruptcy inside of 5 years. Turns out that they have now eliminated all franchises with all stores now owned by corporate. So much so that he went down in his sloppy bag of shit sub. Posted by: Elric The Blade at August 21, 2025 10:22 AM (iFTx/) Also he went out of his way to deliberately bypass regulations. Those "subs" wouldn't have been approved for use in US waters. He also bitched and moaned about regulations holding him back. Carbon fiber hull for an underwater pressure vessel, FFS. That sub should have been retired several dives before but no, he had to cut costs/corners to increase revenue. I know conservatives love to bag on over regulation and that is a problem, but many regulations are necessary and many of those are written in blood. In many cases it's a Chesterton's fence situation when you encounter a regulation that you don't like and decide to bypass it. At your own (and sometimes others') peril.
