The great irony of this is a fed governor cheating the system to get a better interest rate when mortgage interest rates are intimately tied to 10 year fed interest rates.

While the stock market as a whole has been soaring. Promotion from within for CEOs had its problems but far less than the modern investor model promoted by business schools of 'unlocking' stock value.

The new model is strip mine your customers for any bit of spare change while iteratively diminishing what the customer gets in return and as a consequence fire all the experienced employees due to expense (and that they might actually resist putting the company's products quality in the toilet). Then go bankrupt or try to be acquired by a healthy firm in order to infect them.

Hubbymayhem was reading a critique of the new decor which said, "it looks like cracker barrel had a bastard child with Chip and Joanna Gaines.".

Its being referred to as vintage farmhouse style. Hubbymayhem and I had lunch at the one in Bloomington last week. The new decor is bland and boring. I liked all of the stuff on the walls that made it look like an old country store. But at the same time... I had a habit of muttering, " glad I don't have to clean the dust off of all this junk". I do miss the giant sport though. It was a square shovel looking implement that had the "spork" style teeth. I always wondered what it was used for. Even Pappymayhem, the farmer, didn't know. He speculated it might have some use in cranberry production.
Just wait... The big boss Karen will order the removal of anything vaguely Christian in the little shop, too. I've got money on that.

Officially, they've started the process, but word has been percolating for a few weeks that they would do it.

OH has to do it before the next election because their existing map is temporary. FL should join in in January. IN may join in as well.

There are eleven other red states who could join in as well.

CA and NY would have to completely eliminate all Republican seats just to keep up, and that's quite literally impossible.

Nothing to do with "woke", but it was an old school joint with wood everywhere, crappy stools, cheap beer, and amazing food. Iconic place. Then one day they gutted it, made it look like any other plain old restaurant, removed everything that have it any kind of identity, and (horror of horrors) remodeled the kitchen with all new equipment and actually installed normal lighting. Food became bland. Atmosphere was gone. Everyone stopped going. Their effort to "attract a new audience" completely failed.

Also he went out of his way to deliberately bypass regulations. Those "subs" wouldn't have been approved for use in US waters. He also bitched and moaned about regulations holding him back. Carbon fiber hull for an underwater pressure vessel, FFS. That sub should have been retired several dives before but no, he had to cut costs/corners to increase revenue.

I know conservatives love to bag on over regulation and that is a problem, but many regulations are necessary and many of those are written in blood. In many cases it's a Chesterton's fence situation when you encounter a regulation that you don't like and decide to bypass it. At your own (and sometimes others') peril.
