Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | THE MORNING RANT: Marsha, the Recovering Gluten Sufferer with a Trans Child, is Now a WitchI recently documented here and at The Blaze the story of “Marsha,” the daughter of a couple I am close to. A few years ago, Marsha was a loud and vocal sufferer of gluten intolerance (self-diagnosed, of course.) Miraculously, she recovered from her gluten allergy once that fad played out. With trans children being a status symbol in her progressive circles, Marsha subsequently began cross-dressing her children, including a tween daughter that now identifies as a boy. My thesis was that the trans fad is a short-term social contagion, much like the inexplicable epidemic of gluten intolerance that swept the country for a few years. Obviously, no one was prescribing the amputation of body parts during peak-gluten, and neither should children be receiving “gender affirming care” just because they have been swept up in a social contagion. Now, there is another fad sweeping the Marsha demographic – identifying oneself as a witch. Predictably, Marsha is now proclaiming herself to be a witch. And of course, she is producing Tik Tok videos that talk about casting spells, her coven, etc. Ace recently documented – and heartily mocked – this witch fad. Specifically, he featured the “4 AM Club,” which is made up of self-proclaimed witches, mystics, and mediums who believe we have been living in an alternate reality since November 6, 2024 (e.g. Election Day.) “The 4am Club: Meet The Lunatic Women Who Believe We're In the "Wrong Timeline," Who Claim We Have to Get Back to the "Right Timeline" Where Kamala Harris Won the Election” [Ace – 7/21/2025] Feel free to rib me for being aware of this, but on reality TV shows, a lot of the millennial-aged, white women are now proclaiming themselves to be witches. Naturally, universities are now providing courses for these women to get college credit by talking about being a witch. “How feminist witch studies redefine magic and power” [The Current – UC Santa Barbara – 4/01/2025]Witchcraft has been feared, mocked and romanticized — but rarely has it been fully understood as a story of feminist resistance and enduring cultural power. Feminist studies scholar Jane Ward has set out to change that narrative. Her latest book — a collaboration with co-author Soma Chaudhuri — introduces “feminist witch studies,” a new interdisciplinary field that explores the power, persecution and political dimensions of witchcraft across cultures. The witch fad will blow over, just like the gluten fad did, and so will the transgender fad. Those fads appeal to people like Marsha, a demographic that seeks victim status while also seeking inclusion in the latest trendy identity group. But only one of these social contagions disfigures people for life. As I wrote in this piece titled “Her son wears dresses, her daughter’s a ‘boy,’ and it’s all for status” [The Blaze – 6/28/2025]”: Marsha has once again been swept up in a social contagion — a phenomenon especially common among her age group. The gluten craze ended with little more than inconvenience. But the transgender trend leads to lasting harm. It encourages confusion, medicalization, and, in many cases, the sterilization of children.Marsha is no longer gluten intolerant. In a year or two she will no longer be a witch. There are many of us praying that her daughter will survive the trans fad without being permanently harmed. [buck.throckmorton at protonmail dot com] Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

The current system rewards women over men in general, but very much so rewards AWFLs over more then any other group. So it is a rational decision for them to demand the status quo continue, if an immoral one. And I think that's part of this to. Look at Trump taking on USAID. Which six or seven? Israel and Iran? What? What peace deal did I miss? I mean, so you — six or seven — I mean, that’s — no, but Rwanda? Azerbaijan? Rwanda? What? What are we talking about? I mean, no — I mean, the fact is — the fact is we still have — we still have a country that's — we still have a country — a world that's on fire and this is the problem” - Well, Curtis, like the rest of CNN, doesn't get outside the bubble much. Saw a YT sometime back of a girl who believed her teen obsession with witches, inspired by Hollywood, welcomed actual demons into her life, that she would experience during periods of sleep paralysis at 20 years old. The only thing that would save her was mumble crying out for her roommate who would - eventually - wake her up out of it as these things infested her space while she was trapped in a waking sleep state.
One day her roommate wasn't there and she was completely stuck in it and the demons were getting bolder as she lay stuck - so instead of calling for her roommate who she knew wasn't there, she mustered all she could to call out Jesus's name - as her upbringing had taught her that He would protect her from such forces even though she never believed in them. The demons immediately went and the paralysis ended. In fact the entire condition ended. She took all the witch imagery out of her life and renounced every bit of it. Moral of the story? Dance with the devil - you are gonna get burned. Posted by: ... at August 15, 2025 11:15 AM (yh2Fr) 58

Most of the witch burning in Europe happened in areas that had a complete collapse of civic and religious authority. So the idea doesn't make any sort of sense because there was little sense was behind it. My understanding is labeling someone as a witch was generally done as a way to get retribution or take their property - similarly to how people became Monarchist agents in Revolutionary France... I know of a dude who, with his "husband", adopted a pair of boys and enrolled them in a private school. The dude at first was merely gay, and was allowed to work at the school as a substitute teacher with the expectation that he would keep quiet about his sexuality.
Later he started wearing dresses and makeup which raised questions among other parents and had the school reviewing their policies and employee handbooks. (Apparently the employee dress code was not specific about gender and makeup.) The dude solved all their problems when he proudly announced on social media that he's a witch. THAT was a clear violation and they kicked him off their sub roster. LOL Posted by: Jack Squat Bupkis at August 15, 2025 11:21 AM (GD2xa) 94

“Split personalities” was part of the … research… conducted on concentration camp victims and other lucky folks under the Nazi regime. They termed it traumatic conditioning or somesuch. Most effective on children, usually repeated rape. This was continued in the United States after the war, as part of the Paperclip scientists. Lots of propaganda specialists, and chemical warfare were imported, ostensibly as part of the Cold War but it looks more in hindsight just a way to fvck with Americans and drive them all crazy. Your Spook agencies at work.

233 “Split personalities” was part of the … research… conducted on concentration camp victims and other lucky folks under the Nazi regime.
There is a direct line from those concentration camp victims to “gender affirming care” here today, if you know the history.. They are creating time bombs. Some of them have already gone off. Trying to completely understand a system from within that system is paradoxical in nature.
Posted by: ... at August 15, 2025 11:35 AM (yh2Fr) --- Which is why complexity is added, if we try to comprehend our brains. The materialist tries to leverage the idea of computers. Well, to what we know, computers are Turing-bound. If our brain is some sort of Turing-compatible mechanism, then it cannot be proven that it know any non-trivial thing about itself. If the brain computes but is super-Turing, then we have theories about what is relatively computable from solving the Turing Halting Problem, but we do not know *how* something becomes super-Turing, provided all brains of all creatures are not all super-Turing. So computability is a mathematical system to understand computation, which is kind of like thinking, but we don't know what thinking is. Posted by: Axeman at August 15, 2025 11:55 AM (krQz2) 259

In fairness to Buffy and Angel, they ABSOLUTELY DID NOT claim that Vampires were misunderstood. They straight-up said that they were demons inhabiting the skin of the person that they were before they were turned, to the point where they were not in any way the same person. Angel was an exception in that he was cursed with the restoration of his soul, binding the demon underneath the tortured spirit of the man he'd been before having to live with everything the demon had done. When that stopped hurting him, the curse broke and the monster came back out until he got REcursed. Spike, who was MUCH happier being a soulless abomination, won back his soul by choice after he'd been "housetrained" by the government putting a chip in his head.

If these wacko mothers were dealt with the Munchausen's diagnosis, and threats of losing their kids, they might find something else to do. Like grow a tomato and cross gender that with a bell pepper. I agree it is a trend, along with facial piercings and body tattoos. Sometimes you escape trends, sometimes you don't. But these mothers forcing kids to be effed up early should be dealt with harshly. Almost half the "witches" executed were men. The usual suspects have repackaged the story to make men seem worse and women seem like victims. But men were targeted too.

Pure mob mentality. The mob doesn't act rationally. The mob wants blood and pain.
I highly doubt the witch-burning events were like portrayed on TV, where there's a semblance of a prosecution and then an organized execution. I bet what really happened is some mob whipped themselves into a frenzy, then grabbed some poor girl out of her bed in the middle of the night. Then dragged her out into the street and murdered her right then and there. I'm not surprised so many millennial women have embraced witchcraft.
They grew up on Harry Potter books & movies. It's a short jump from wanting to be Hermione Granger as a child to finding Wicca and eventually believing you can be a real witch in adulthood. We haven't even discovered there is a second letter on the cover of the book "how the universe works."
We might have an idea as to the first letter but are still debating whether there even is a letter. That is how little we actually know. Every sentence that has any variation of "scientists have proven" should have an asterisk that everyone understand adds "in this very limited, possibly artificial, and likely single occurrence." A man went to prison for assaulting me. DC Police crime stats show he was never arrested Five years ago, I was violently attacked and sexually assaulted in broad daylight in Washington, D.C., by a homeless man. He served time in federal prison for what he did to me. But if you look for evidence that the attack happened in the city’s crime statistics, you won’t find it. The truth of what happened to me and the D.C. government’s role in it is as much a public scandal as it is a personal trauma. D.C. police covered up the unspeakable wrong that the stranger did to me. President Trump’s instincts are spot on: India is on the verge of becoming China 2.0.
Unfortunately, the tariffs will do little to stop this. Why? Because India isn’t coming for our manufacturing. They’re coming for our technology sector—and they’ve been remarkably successful both at scooping up jobs, and flying under the radar. Posted by: SMOD at August 15, 2025 01:09 PM (RHGPo) 350

Roblox, the $27 billion online gaming platform pitched as a safe creative playground for kids, is now facing serious legal firepower from Louisiana’s top law enforcement officer. On Thursday, Attorney General Liz Murrill sued Roblox Corp. in state court, accusing the California-based company of enabling predators to target children and “facilitate the distribution of child sexual abuse material” on its platform.
The lawsuit alleges Roblox “knowingly and intentionally fails to implement basic safety controls to protect child users from predators” and fails to adequately warn parents about the dangers on its platform. It cites years of alleged failures, pointing to games that have appeared on Roblox such as Escape to Epstein Island, Diddy Party, and Public Bathroom Simulator Vibe, which the AG’s office says have included simulated sexual activity, including “child gang rape.” Posted by: SMOD at August 15, 2025 01:13 PM (RHGPo) 352

Academic witchcraft is nothing new. In the late 60's we had a high school "Literature of Witchcraft and The Occult" literature concentration section, back in the day when the thinking was that if you could get the little darlings to read anything at all, sooner or later they'd catch on. Of course, it was "boring" because it was all literary witchcraft. Your little video games had not been invented yet.
In the early and mid-70's, there were witchcraft sections scattered through all the majors. I remember a paper from a good scholar in early American lit, who, at a time when the Salem trials were roundly mocked, found receipts that a coven actually practiced -- a generally accepted idea, two decades later. We have never been without the shadow of feminist witchcraft in the modern era, say, since the period of the Inquisition. There's not a lot of use in acting like it just popped up. The witchcraft/occult fad cycles in and out of fashion. It typically grows in popularity any time women are feeling disenfranchised or when Hollyweird decides to trot out some new trendy witch show—Sabrina the Teenage Witch, Outlander’s time travel theme/ powerful witch character, Disney’s Hocus Pocus, or Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches series. Twenty plus years ago my daughter walked into her middle school bathroom to find a group of girls sitting around a pink wig and chanting a witch’s spell for help on a test! Last year, I had an eye exam at my ophthalmologist and the vision tech had all kinds of wiccan tattoos and an evil eye necklace. I recognized one tat as Baphomet, the two-gendered goat-headed demon. I asked her if it was Baphomet and she was happy to share that she is a witch and why her faith is such a huge part of her life. She was surprised that I knew so much about occult practices. I explained that as an evangelical Christian, I found learning about other faith practices to be fascinating, and that it strengthened my own faith. Liberal women are once again turning to casting curses and sticking pins into voodoo dolls fashioned like Trump. Total silliness and hysteria.
