Met my guy here for the weekend. It's his hometown. We visited the Missions, spent a day in Fredericksburg including a visit to the Pacific War museum, went up to the People's Republic of Austin, and even got a range trip in. And the obligatory Buc-ees stop. Great times!

The neat thing is despite that being obvious (for the first half of the act it's always on the side-the middle is always a real leg, but he has a hand on each outer knee and they do the same thing so it's hard to tell which is the fake one), I still lost track of it.

I suspect that there will have to be an almost complete break with a now-discredited government, including the monarchy, before things can return to the way they were. Think Charles II.

I had to take a remedial Texas history class to get my AAS from the jr. college (in San Antonio as it happens). TX history is required by state law but the previous semester my advisor mistakenly signed me up for a US history class. It delayed me transferring to a 4 year school by a semester.

This is so true. I'm reading Martin Gilbert's book The Somme: Heroism and Horror in the First World War. Germany always - always - wanted war. Wilhelm thought it was the destiny of Germany to defeat France and England and dominate Europe. His generals all thought the same thing. From what I'm gathering, King Edward VII's death was the event that got the whole thing started; he was holding everything together, as the one everyone respected. A shame he didn't become king sooner - or lived longer.
