Biden Turned FEMA Into a Democrat Voter-Registration Machine and Prioritized Democrat Voters Over Republican Ones When Distributing Emergency Aid

The Biden administration abused its power by turning the entire mechanism of the federal government into a Democratic voter mobilization campaign, according to newly unearthed White House documents viewed exclusively by The Post.
The worst offender was FEMA, the Federal Emergency Management Agency, under the Department of Homeland Security, which was controlled for four years by Biden's Machiavellian border buster Alejandro Mayorkas.
When responding to an emergency or a natural disaster, FEMA employees were directed to make voter registration a "key priority."
They politically targeted vulnerable people in their hour of need instead of focusing on providing federal assistance.
Left-wing NGOs were brought in to "educate" FEMA staff about "equity and voter access for individuals affected by disaster," says a Trump administration official.
"FEMA's job is to make sure Americans who have suffered catastrophic loss due to some disaster in their community [can access] food, water and shelter ... Under President Biden, FEMA, like every agency, produced a plan on how they would leverage these crisis situations for political [purposes]. I can't think of anything more disgusting."
FEMA employees were so fixated on voter outreach that, when they visited hurricane-ravaged Florida last October, they didn't even bother knocking on the doors of houses that had Trump signs in the yard.
Instead of assisting Hurricane Milton survivors, they were instructed to "avoid homes advertising Trump," according to an Office of Special Counsel complaint.
FEMA supervisor Marn'i Washington was fired as a scapegoat after Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis called foul on the scam and the Daily Wire reported that at least 20 homes with Trump signs or flags had been skipped by FEMA and denied the opportunity of qualifying for federal assistance.
It stands to reason that if FEMA's priority was getting out Democrats to vote, the last people they would want to visit were Trump supporters.
The Florida scandal came on the heels of the Biden administration's sluggish response to Hurricane Helene in Trump-supporting rural areas of North Carolina and Tennessee.
Whether it was Hurricane Helene, the Maui wildfires, Hurricane Ian, or the East Palestine train derailment in Ohio, FEMA always came up short during the Biden years.
The agency's inadequate performance is more understandable when you realize that providing actual disaster relief to victims had become simply a side dish to the partisan political priorities of the Democratic Party.

Remember, guys, it's Trump who's running an "authoritarian government." The people who banned speech and pressured banks to terminate the accounts of political enemies, and who weaponized the FBI, CIA, and FEMA into political weapons, were the anti-authoritarians, you see.

I agree - I also think that a lot of the hysteria in the first few weeks was because they really did expect it to be a whole lot worse; that's what they had paid for. But they forgot that when you farm your work out to the Chinese, you always get back some cheap knock-off version that never does half of what you expected it to do, and always falls apart after a little while.

If there needs to be research done for the government, sign a contract or do it in a government laboratory where there is at least hypothetical oversight. No more farming out "research" or "social assistance" or whatever else.

Their requirements were to turn the material over to them for distribution or face legal consequences.

If you think about it, it makes more sense in the context that they were leveraging assistance to solicit registered democrat voters. AND, more importantly, the private volunteers were showing up the government workers in the process. Back when the ridiculous and ignorant hysteria over Katrina took place, FEMA's primary role, as it always had been, was doling out $, funding planning and mitigation work for disaster prep, training, etc. Counties and states always have/still do have 95% of the $, legal responsibility, and formal role of emergency response.

Again - like other agencies, this might have been changed beyond recognition since I was close to it. But FEMA was never meant to be a first-responder, or anything similar.

I talked about this situation a bit in the morning thread. It's a big game of bluff and counterbluff, and I applaud Abbott for playing this so well politically. Politics is about perception more than reality, most of the time. So enjoy the show! Because that's what it is. Shortly after the shooting there was a very good article about him, although i haven't seen it again. In short he is a very good professional photographer who had the eye to pick the best spot to view the podium, and he had a couple very good high speed cameras set up to try and catch some good rally images. He probably took several hundred images that day with his equipment, and examining them that night was astounded to see that he had caught the bullet in flight. (He also took the iconic photo of Trump bloodied but unbowed that day)

It's a mirage that is always just out there but rarely found on appeal.
When the trial court rules on a matter of discretion, it law-speak for "any crazy, possible reason will justify it--even one we make up after the fact and not even in the record."

Like I said earlier, this it the equivalent of the court saying, "did you even go to law school?" to the judge.

Photographers at events like this have plenty of storage space on their cameras these days.

They don't shoot in the old way of click, wait for a good shot, click, repeat.

They turn the shutter speed up high and basically shoot like it's a mini-movie. Click*Click*Click*Click*Click*.

That way they just dump the load on their computer, pick out the best shots of the subject, and move on.

The only thing holding a photographer back in getting lots of shots is lighting inside and possibly waiting on a flash to recharge.
