A Farewell To ONT

Howdy! Welcome to the Thursday ONT. Know who get it? The Poles get it.

Drives me nuts that so many people think Fascism and Communism are opposites. They're 98% the same set of beliefs. Historically, they oppose each other because they're both competing for the same followers.

Brazilian Woman Granted Refugee Status in Europe After Facing 25-Year Sentence for ‘Misgendering’ Trans Politician

In a precedent-setting move, a European country has officially granted full refugee protections to a Brazilian women’s rights activist who was facing 25 years in prison in her home country for misgendering a transgender politician. Isabella Cêpa is the first person to be recognized as a victim of state persecution for her outspoken opposition to gender identity ideology.

As previously reported by Reduxx, Cêpa first came under criminal investigation after she made a social media post about Erika Hilton – a male politician who “identifies” as a woman. Hilton was elected to São Paulo’s municipal government in November of 2020, winning his seat by a landslide that gave him the title of the most voted-for ‘woman’ in Brazil.
At the time of his victory, Hilton was celebrated in international media as being a “symbolic triumph” for transgender people. Hilton was amongst the top 10 most-voted for candidates in all of Brazil, and was touted as the “only woman” to make the list.
It was the widespread announcement of his victory that first put him on Cêpa’s radar.

Surprisingly enough, it's the EU granting asylum. I would have expected it to be one of the Eastern Bloc countries.

Washed In The Blood Of The Lamb

Redeemed Whores, Prideful Virgins, and What To Do with the Doctrine of Expiation

What followed was predictable: a stampede of screeching outrage, not from liberal heretics or blue-haired witches, but from the alt-right young men who usually chant “Christ is King” with us in the trenches. Apparently, the Gospel of Jesus Christ is fine when it saves murderers, warlords, and Confederate war generals, but not when it washes clean the girl with a body count. We can forgive Saul of Tarsus, but not the girl who had a stripper pole in her living room.

What this backlash revealed is that even among those who claim the name of Christ, there is a deadly misunderstanding about the nature of redemption. They love the aesthetics of Christianity (the blood, the cross, the judgment) but they have no patience for the glory of forgiveness. They wield law like a war hammer but have no category for grace. To them, the Gospel is a tool for smashing their enemies, not resurrecting their sisters. That is why I responded the way I did. I said: “This tweet from Protestia brought some H8rs out of the woodwork. But let me be clear: We are going to stand with the Gospel Doctrine of Expiation, and continue to proclaim its supernatural power to redeem sinners.”

There's an interesting theological debate to be had there if anyone wants to have it. I pretty much agree with the author of the linked piece. Sin is sin, be it murder or theft or fornication, and we're all guilty. If the sinner truly repents in Christ, those sins are washed clean and the sinner is born again. If it's good enough for Christ it should be good enough for a prospective partner. Besides, if she really has repented, she'll might make a fine wife, and the wedding night will be one to remember.

mRNA-based SARS-CoV-2 vaccines: The intracellular aggregation of encoded spike monomers and their subunits as a cause of cardiac side effects

I lost the link, but the linked paper was summarized like this at the page I got this from:

New study published in the prestigious Frontiers in Immunology journal reveal that modRNA "covid vaccines" program human cells not to produce a uniform spike protein as intended (as a SARS-CoV-2 antigen) - but rather produce multiple variants of this protein and undesirable products that trigger inflammatory conditions in the body, including heart inflammation.

These spike protein variants and undesirable products aggregate into clumps inside the cell into which the vaccine mRNA has entered (including heart cells), which in the long term cause internal stress, inflammation, and cell damage.

In practice, this inflammation in heart cells can lead - over time- to symptoms such as heart palpitations, weakness, and lethal myocarditis. Depending on the person, these conditions can arise much earlier or much later.

The aggregated spike protein variants and its fragments mostly remain in the cells. This means that the body cannot simply get rid of them.

Unlike a virus, which is completely eliminated by the immune system, the cell itself produces these substances and does so for an extended period. If the affected tissue does not regenerate or is inherently sensitive (like the heart), this can lead to chronic ailments, myocarditis, and over time to life-threatening heart rhythm disorders.

The science is settled?

The dam is breaking on Britain’s illegal immigration crisis — and the results could be ugly

Britain’s Labour government is in trouble: Its program of massive third-world immigration from places like Pakistan and Somalia is wildly, overwhelmingly unpopular.
But that’s not the real problem.
The real problem is that despite the best efforts of Prime Minister Keir Starmer and his leftist captive media, Britons themselves have discovered just how unpopular it is.
You might think that’s absurd — if mass immigration is unpopular, how can everyone not know it?
Everyone doesn’t know it because the government has been policing speech about immigration.

Any criticism of open borders, lax enforcement or — worst of all — immigrant crime has been punished as “racist” and “hate speech” by the Starmer regime.

Now I don't really think the Brits are going to stand Starmer up against a wall on Christmas...but there's always the Tower of London.

We're From The Government, We're Here To Help

Biden Put This Harmless Mechanic In Prison. Now, Troy Lake Is Asking Trump for Help

Until 2018. One day in October of that year, the Lakes and one of their employees were enjoying a meal at a local Olive Garden when the federal government executed a search warrant on Elite Diesel. They watched via an app on their phones that accessed the shop's cameras.
"It looked like a military operation," Holly told Cowboy State Daily. She said black SUVs were lined up outside, and "agents in tactical gear" raided the place, going through every corner of the building, rifling through their equipment, and reading their personal files.
After what the Lakes call the "raid," nothing happened for several years. The family eventually decided to move back to Wyoming, taking Elite Diesel with them. They even contacted the feds to let them know they were moving and stayed in touch, trying to do everything on the up-and-up.
But today, Troy Lake sits in federal prison in Colorado, where he has spent the last six months.

Thing is, he did do what he was accused of, but maybe this is a time for the “it's a stupid rule” principle to kick in.

Personal Note

This is the last Thursday ONT I will be writing. I've been doing this for almost ten years, I'm tired boss. Don't worry, I'll still be kicking your weekend off right by meeting your meme needs on the Friday ONT, but starting next week Thursdays will be covered by the eminently capable Doof. It's been a pleasure and an honor to entertain you Morons all these years.

Tonight's ONT has been brought to you by the Anti-loneliness Club:

31 Actually not sure about the Purple Heart medals *today* having been from the late WWII minting. I know that was true up through the early 200s (at least I think I know). But thought they'd actually had to make some more, having finally run through that stock.

And the war ending when it did didn't just save American and Japanese lives. Every day the war continued the excess deaths in Japanese-occupied territories, and in combat outside Japan or the Pacific, piled up. And there's good reason to believe several areas were on the cusp of public health catastrophes (apart from Japan, which definitely was) - which kill far, far more than even major military operations.

Fascism is when the Government tells corporations what to do.

Communism is when the Government owns the corporations, and then tells them what to do.

Oligarchy, which we are close to, is when some rich folks own the Corporations, and the Government, and tells both what to do.

106 The physicists who realized a uranium bomb was theoretically possible were mortified. They first sent Fermi to discuss it with some undersecretary of the Navy or something like that. “There’s a Wop waiting outside” was the way they handled it. They figured he was crazy. It wasn’t until 1942 that the US government got serious about spending the money and building the infrastructure necessary to acquire fissionable material.

But from that point, when it was taken seriously they really, really took it seriously. “This can potentially end the war” and the consensus was everyone work as hard as they could on it. Every day counted.

There was no way they were going to spend $2 billion in 1942 dollars and then not use a new super bomb that would save thousands of lives. It avoided an invasion that would have proved very deadly.

There was talk by some that a demonstration should be held. Instead of bombing a city. These talks were held before the first implosion type plutonium bomb had been tested at the Trinity site.

But it was decided by the interim committee and others, including Fermi, Oppenheimer, etc, that there was no realistic alternative to dropping it on a city

129 What followed was predictable: a stampede of screeching outrage, not from liberal heretics or blue-haired witches, but from the alt-right young men who usually chant “Christ is King” with us in the trenches.

I read the article and the conclusion is pretty clear: the author is an asshole - has absolutely no idea what conviction of the Holy Spirit is and uses a deep edge case hypothetical to blanket condemn anyone who doesn't share the lack of wisdom this character has. The irony is, he has grace for the OF women but zero grace for believers who have taken to heart the book of Proverbs.

130 Partway through the X essay on redemption, and something that has struck me for a few years now: the Left does not believe in full forgiveness and redemption. Cancel culture is a great example of this. Someone can make a groveling apology online, and the Left will say it's not good enough and continue to shun and/or destroy this person. Alex Jones was the first domino to fall: He immediately retracted that brief segment on Sandy Hook, apologized profusely for it, and Left is still screaming for his blood.

Posted by: pookysgirl has some thoughts at August 07, 2025 10:38 PM (Wt5PA)

131 And of course there never was a choice "between" use of the bomb, and invasion. Invasion planners had requested at least 9 A-bombs (3 per major invasion sector on Kyushu). And if Olympic had been necessary, and then Coronet, planning for Coronet would have also surely called for many A-bombs to use.

Another thing there never was: a "decision" to use the A-bombs. It was the default situation, no need for a separate decision, the decision to build/test the system was the decision to use it, if deemed necessary. Yet another false implied premise of the "revisionist" hacks.

I've never seen this point discussed, but correspondence with a prominent Pacific war historian just last week showed he completely agreed.

And don't be so sure about Hokkaido. The Soviets had barely any amphibious capability of the sort required. In fact one of our last tranches of Lend-Lease aid gave them their only suitable vessels, and their forces in the Far East had no specialized training.

136 No, a demonstration in an uninhabited area. With representatives and observers.

But, what if it’s a dud? They were sure the “gun type” bomb would work. But they only had enough U-235 for the one bomb.

The gun-type detonator system was discovered late in the game, through calculations, it wouldn’t work with plutonium. This was an epic problem. Now they had to make the implosion type trigger mechanism work.

And they had to test it first, using up very scarce plutonium. They wanted to drop 2 in a row on Japan in quick succession, to give the impression that the Americans had a pile of these things, we’re gonna hit you every other day and twice on Sunday.

This article is the same old "Jesus wants you to man up and marry the slut" message of numerous modern churches wrapped in fancier dress. The ran-through 304 with a body count of the same number may find salvation and forgiveness from God, and could be accepted in good faith as a fellow believer, but the damage to her mind and body doesn't just vanish. The ability to pair bond will be gone, and the odds she will cheat on and/or divorce her husband will be exceptionally high. This person's advice is potentially ruinous to a young man who follows it. I'd put it on par with encouraging someone to jump in front of a speeding bus because God will save him if he truly believes.

Nonsense. Aside from tariffs, which are just another form of tax policy, there is wholesale de-reg across the board. Apart from (thankfully) enforcing civil rights laws and the constitution to prevent political persecution by businesses, every move is to reduce regulation.

The purpose of admin policy is *growth* and economic dynamism. The purpose of control under statist regimes is *control*.

When you have a religion of hate, its incompatible to have forgiveness and redemption - unless the Leftist is the transgressor, than forgiveness and redemption are mandatory on your part.

Exhibit A: The response the Left had to the Clot Shot. They wanted everyone who didn't get the Kill Shot to lose their jobs, children, health care and freedom. They built concentration camps and used the courts to imprison those who didn't fully comply. Zero tolerance. Zero compassion. Zero empathy.

Then when it was shown that everything they believed in was a lie. They demanded that we forget their hate, cancelling, destroying of lives and pretend that it never happened.

They demanded that they are not held responsible for the trillions of dollars lost, the parents who died and had no funerals, the graduates who had no ceremonies, the business owners who lost everything.

You must forgive them even though they refuse to apologize. You must restore them as leaders over you even though they still want you dead.

157 143 everyday is a new example of the gov’t trying to dictate for the free market.

Today’s example being Trump calling for the firing of Intel’s new ceo. Which has nothing to do with his ties to China and all to due with his admission of and attempt to pivot from lack of *free market* interest in Intel’s foundry biz in its current state.

You can Google this and see it for yourself.

“In Intel’s quarterly filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, the company said that it has been “unsuccessful to date in securing any significant external foundry customers” for its Intel Foundry contract chip manufacturing business. This includes the Intel 18A manufacturing node that recently entered production and was viewed as key to the comeback plan by former Intel CEO Pat Gelsinger.

The company also said it “may pause or discontinue” development of Intel 14A—the successor to Intel 18A—and future leading-edge nodes if the company is “unable to secure a significant external customer” for the node, as it has yet to do.”

The admin is literally putting its foot down and saying “no, you can’t restructure your business in the way you need to.”

A city tour guide made repeated slights of Russia - in front of our aspiring KGB group chaperone (her face during this was priceless). Some Komsomol (Young Communist League) guys just about dragged me out of our official event/lunch, to ditch it and walk around the city, one showed me a small notebook with the Estonian blue/black/white tricolor in it, saying "this is our real flag".

The other one jumped a fence - broad daylight - at a government building we were walking past when I said that at least the Estonian republic flag was the best of the Soviet flags. He walked over, hauled down the flag from the pole, jumped the fence, and handed it to me. Ummm. Visions of Big Trouble and expulsion in my head. No problem!

But mostly, I remember the hot blondes. After months in Leningrad, a hawt young female was something we just fondly remembered.

167 Purple heart day. There are a few in my family. Not quite sure how many, because they didn't talk much, and all are gone. I know 2 cousins that served in vietnam had them. One was a marine, and was there on '67-68. I think he had 2, and the other was special forces, 4 tours. He definitely had a few, and his body showed a lot of it. I saw most of them from both cousins. I had an uncle that got messed up in a tank during wwII in europe, and almost lost his leg. I'm pretty sure he had one, made references a couple times, but I never asked right out, he didn't say much. Another uncle served in the pacific in WWII, went to his grave saying the yellow race sucks, and thats all he ever said about his service, but I know he got wounded, on a ship and on land. I really..really didn't want to ask.

Never forget that "progressives" and leftists in North America and the UK loved Mussolini, Hitler, and Stalin, right up until the very minute that Hitler's army marched into Russian. Then, on word from Stalin, Hitler and Mussilini were the worst people ever. The Almanac Singers (with Pete Seeger) had just released an album of isolationist songs, and they wound up begging their fans to return them for an "improved" version calling for America to enter the war.

That right there needs to be repeated over and over. We're asking for actual repentance, and they won't do it. And there's plenty of people who have repented of their Kung Flu sins that have been forgiven, so the Clot Shot fanatics can't say that we won't forgive them if they repent. But they refuse to repent, probably out of pride.

178 This person's advice is potentially ruinous to a young man who follows it.

The hate-filled rhetoric and demagoguery convinced me that his person is, as you say they are.

The craven manipulation, virtue signaling and the demand to take one for the team because birth rates are low is sickening.

The total jettisoning of Wisdom, the trivializing of sexual immorality. To pretend that adultery is not a death penalty sin in the thousands of years of different cultures that preceded the 1960s Western overthrow of traditional morals.

I'm sure there are people who have done things that result in them riding a wheel chair would like a redo.

My take is that each "Christ is King" man should evaluate the situation, consider the risks, the emotional toll and the sincerity of the hypothetical repentance, seek wise council, and pray.

I wouldn't call it heavy water by a long shot, it's just the isotope ratios are different. Besides D vs H, you've got the oxygen isotopes, O-16, -17, and -18 as well thrown in the mix.

Most comet water turns out to be quite different, which ruled out the theory that comet bombardment gave earth its water. Now, some comets do have earth-like water isotope ratios.

What will be interesting is any measurements of the interstellar 3I/Atlas water isotope ratios.

251 As I said , he's creating a problem that doesn't exist. Jesus said to forgive . He didn't say you must marry those you forgive.

The author's idea of forgiveness is that you are a bad person if you pretend the transgressions never occurred.

Except the transgressions that the OF whore did were against herself and against the Creator and for everyone she engaged in fornication. We are supposed to get involved with forgiveness when the transgressions are against us.

Should I forgive an antebellum slave holder? Am I required to forgive some aboriginal who said something mean to his spouse?

Clearly the author is completely incapable of distinguishing sin vs emotional/physical baggage. The dude that doesn't want to marry the VD ridden whore who still gets calls from her previous engagements just because she sings Amazing Grace isn't sinning - he is showing good judgement and the application of wisdom.

175 Fermi or somebody noticed that commercially available carbon had a lot of impurities making it unsuitable for as a moderator or whatever. They finally got that worked out.

The impurity was boron. Chemically has some similarity to carbon, so requires extra purification of the carbon.to get rid of it. Neutron absorber, ends the chain reaction at very low levels. The Germans never figured that out, just wrongly concluded that carbon was not a suitable moderator.

The routine beheadings happened outside of the Tower of London on Tower Hill. Only a few high-status prisoners got the chop within the walls. Anne Boleyn was a notable one. 321 Having sex with a large number of guys damages a woman's ability to pair bond long term. Something to keep in mind if you are choosing someone to marry

How would that apply to, say, me? I never did porn or had an Only Fans (I do have a very successful reverse Only Fans. I send people nude pictures of me every day until they pay me to stop), but my "body count" is more than a few multiples of 12. I was a little slut in my yondering days, yet I've been married to one woman for almost 25 years now. Should Gingy have stayed away?

351 Those research papers on the shot always start with disclaimers saying it's safe and effective, side effects are extremely rare, it's the only way to reduce severity, hospitalization, and death, and then go on to show study results that contradict at least one of these assertions. An example is the Cleveland study that showed more shots and more recently boostered correlated with much greater incidence of Covid. Or this one, saying shots minimize the severity of Covid but there are a bunch of effects that damage heart health. They claim Covid damages the heart as well, but I suspect if they compared vaxxed and non-vaxxed Covid patients, nearly all of the heart damage would be among the vaxxed.

404 Well, fackity fack fack. My desktop computer just shit the bed. It just locked up solid, would not respond to mouse or keyboard commands. Did a hard reboot, would not boot Linux off the solid-state drive. Tried booting the old Win7 drive, and it came up to the desktop, but would not run any programs, adn then the scree washed out, and it locked up, too. Booted up the Linux install iso off the DVD drive, and it took forever to load, and I opened the HQ on Firefox, but it took forever to load, and again, no mouse or keyboard inputs accepted. Might be a memory problem, or else something fairly basic on the motherboard.

Had to go out to the garage and fetch my laptop.

Trust me, we can smell it like a nice steak dinner. Rule one may be don't stick your dick in crazy, but rule 2, the one that never gets mentioned, is don't be the punching bag for the asshole that came before you. Its a balance, trying to protect yourself and not push a potential right dude away. Not easy, but its how it is.

Uncle is on Number Three. Somehow outlived the first two.
Turns out, Number Three was the mother of a big concert promoter in Texas, ummm, who died in car wreck, and Uncle found out after Number two passed that he was the father of Number Three's son, who was born before he even married before Number One.

High School reunions are the friends of widows.
THAT is the takeaway.

I made a Jacob's Ladder once. Too easy. Just cabbaged the HV power supply out of an old CRT type computer monitor. Twelve volts in, 25,000 volts out. The HV in them is stand-alone, not part of the horizontal sweep circuit as it was in TV's.

431 Braenyard, I have been decommissioning old system builds for some kids into retro gaming. That means making them running with os, drivers, and patches. Legacy Update website is useful to install no longer available security patches from Microsoft. Supermium is a retrofit browser and there is a similar retro browser using Firefox.

So far, one win win2k, win 7, 8.1, and XP pro up and running. Installing dual boots w Linux as well.

fwiw, Debian 12 is probably the last 32 bit mainstream Linux left and they are not going to 13 with it.

Didn't live in town but the P.O. was where the mail was.
It was so old the boxes were exactly like the old western movies.
A stack at the right end of the counter. The whole thing was wooden, pigeon holes with doors and all. Each small door had a knob in the center one would turn for the simple three point combination.

If mail was more than a fit it was under the counter and the Post Mistress would hand it to you. Not like everyone didn't know everyone.

Thanks, Whig! I did have a victory today in the mower department. Figured out why Dixon mower #1 wasn't charging its wee battery. The "voltage regulator" was kaput. Alternator coil was putting out 24 volts AC, regulator/rectifier was putting out zilch. I found a 50-amp bridge rectifier in my electronics junk, and wired that in.
