Polygamy caused a lot of problems along these lines. In a monogamous realm the mother will work to align her sons interests and encourage peace between them because they are all her sons. In a polygamous one the mothers would fight and then the sons would as well on gaining majority.

Ethiopia actually had an interesting answer to this problem. All the royal offspring would be sent off to a luxury estate that was also a prison. And they would only leave when they were called to rule so it was hard for a disfavored son to push to inherit over his father's wishes...

Saw "Weapons" yesterday.

I enjoyed it.

The story is told in a sort of "Pulp Fiction" style where you learn what's happening through various viewpoints. Not much in the way of jump scares. Basically, the movie wants to creep you out then shock you with violence along the way.

Good script. Great acting. Good direction. Some laughs though not as heavy on the humor as something like "The Monkey".

Very good at building and building until all hell breaks loose, which like in a horror movie.
Fun flick.

Better than being a Dutch Uncle. That being said, given that the lowlands flood a lot in Belgium and Holland, leather shoes would have a pretty short life outside of well drained cities so I guess wood would last quite a bit longer.

Read WWI stories of Flanders where basically leather goods of troops--slings, boots, etc. disintegrated in the unceasing rain and moisture in the trenches.
