Ghislaine Maxwell: I Will Testify Before Congress But Only If I'm Granted Immunity

I assume she means immunity for anything she tells Congress, not immunity for the crimes she's already been convicted and sentenced for.

But who knows.

Ghislaine Maxwell will plead the Fifth Amendment in response to a congressional subpoena to testify about deceased sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein -- unless several demands are met, according to a Tuesday letter from her attorney obtained by The Post.

Defense lawyer David Oscar Markus told the Republican-led House Oversight Committee that his client's statements under oath "could compromise her constitutional rights, prejudice her legal claims, and potentially taint a future jury pool."

"Accordingly, our initial reaction was that Ms. Maxwell would invoke her Fifth Amendment rights and decline to testify at this time," Markus wrote to Oversight Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.).

"However, after further reflection, we would like to find a way to cooperate with Congress if a fair and safe path forward can be established."

The demands listed in the letter include two items that Markus deemed non-negotiable: a grant of immunity for Maxwell, and testifying outside the Florida federal prison where she's been serving a 20-year sentence since 2022 for conspiring with Epstein to abuse young girls.

Before that, she had spent nearly two years in a Brooklyn detention facility, which her attorney called "one of the worst" prisons in the US.

The committee should also provide copies of its questions in advance, Markus said, "to identify the relevant documentation from millions of pages that could corroborate her responses."

The media is suddenly interested in the Epstein story after years of burying it -- and, in George Stephanopolous's and Katie Couric's cases, actually partying with the pervert billionaire at his New York apartment.

And attacking anyone who discussed the case as a PizzaGate Conspiracy Theorist.

J.D. Vance noted this abrupt shift in position.

Vice President JD Vance was adamant Monday that President Trump "has nothing to hide" with respect to notorious sex predator Jeffrey Epstein, while ripping into the George W. Bush and Barack Obama administrations for their handling of the case.

"The president has been very clear. We're not shielding anything," Vance told reporters at an event in Canton, Ohio meant to promote the newly-enacted One Big Beautiful Bill Act.

"The president has directed the attorney general to release all credible information and, frankly, to go and find additional credible information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case," added the Ohio native. "He's been incredibly transparent about that stuff. But some of that stuff takes time."

Vance echoed other top officials in stressing the need to safeguard the names of victims in any additional disclosures about Epstein, who was found dead in his Manhattan jail cell Aug. 10, 2019, while awaiting federal trial on sex trafficking charges.

Before ascending to public office, Vance suggested the government was not being transparent about the late pedophile or his purported network of associates.

Mb<"For 20 years, you had Obama and George W. Bush's Department of Justice go easy on this guy. They didn't fully investigate the case," the 40-year-old charged Monday. "They didn't show any curiosity about the case, and now Donald J. Trump is asking his Department of Justice to show full transparency."

"If you want to criticize the people who aren't showing full transparency, you ought to go after the administrations that went easy on Jeffrey Epstein, the administrations that concealed this case for 20 years, and the administrations that failed to show full transparency."

In 2007, then-Miami US Attorney Alex Acosta cut a deal with Epstein allowing him to plead guilty to Florida state charges of solicitation of prostitution and procuring a minor for prostitution. Under the plea agreement, Epstein was only confined for 13 months, spending much of that period on work release.

Acosta was named Labor Secretary by Trump at the beginning of the president's first term, but resigned in July 2019, days after Epstein's arrest by federal investigators, amid an outcry over the plea deal.

"Donald J. Trump, I'm telling you, he's got nothing to hide," Vance insisted. "His administration has got nothing to hide, and that's why he's been an advocate for full transparency in this case."

In Scotland, Trump also snapped back against the suddenly-QAnon-curious media.

Trump made the point that everyone with a functioning brain has made for years: Given that the US Department of Justice actively framed Trump for being an agent of Vladimir Putin, clearly the DOJ under Biden would have released any derogatory information about Trump contained in the Epstein files.

When a reporter pressed Trump on whether he'd been briefed on his alleged inclusion in the Epstein files, he didn't hold back. He slammed former FBI Director James Comey, Attorney General Merrick Garland, and Joe Biden himself as individuals responsible for running the files. "Those files were run for four years by those people," he emphasized. "If they had anything, I assume they would've released it. Those files were run by these people; they were run by my enemy. If there was anything in there, they would've used them for the election."

Trump made clear that the files were handled by partisan operatives out to get him. "Those files were run by the worst scum on earth. They were run by Comey. They were run by Garland. They were run by Biden, and all of the people that actually ran the government, including the autopen," he said. "If they had anything, I assume they would have released it."

Pointing to the 2024 election as proof, Trump noted, "I was running against somebody that ran the files. If they had something, they would have released it."

...

Trump went on to warn about the potential for manipulated evidence, drawing a parallel to the now-debunked Steele dossier: "They can easily put something in the files that's a phony--like, as an example, Christopher Steele... wrote a... dossier. We call it the fake news dossier. And the whole thing was a fake."

Trump blasted the DOJ and other officials who controlled the Epstein records, calling them "bad, sick people," and questioned why, if damaging material existed, no one used it earlier. "Why didn't they use it when I was killing Joe? And then he gave out because he was 25 points down."

36 I'm coming to a different conclusion regarding Trump and the Epstein Files than I originally had. I thought that this was a story that would be forgotten by this week, and that it was a distraction and a nothingburger. I was, however, mystified that Trump himself is keeping the story alive. Figures in the media think that he's insane to do so.

I now think that Trump is setting a trap, and that the MFM is going to fall for it.

We know that Trump isn't in the files, because if he were then Biden would have released it. Trump, as POTUS, knows this as well. Why, then, did Biden not release ANYTHING? Whatever the reason, Trump as POTUS knows that as well.

The media have been crowing that while Trump says that Bill Gates et al are guilty, the fact that nothing's come out yet means that they are innocent.

I now think that's not the case. Trump is baiting the media, getting them to beg for the release, thinking that it will obviously not hurt Trump. As Trump knows what the files contain, I'm guessing that the MFM and the Dems are in for a very nasty surprise. Trump is Rope-A-Doping them into a big trap.

The Feds immediately dump the charges on minors and give Epstein a NPA (Non Prosecution Agreement) on Federal charges, and don't tell any of this to the victims.

Then, the get Epstein in a plea on two prostitution charges with only 13 months time. Which I might add show no records of his participation in the work release program. Whether he actually showed up at the half-way house cannot be documented.

So, either he was working for intelligence at the time, or the plea was an off the books recruitment for future intelligence work.

I could give a flying feces whether Epstein killed himself or not. It was my personal desired result regardless. I would prefer candor (even if US Intelligence, or Mossad, or MI6 are compromised in the process. This shit shouldn't happen regardless of the risks in a dangerous world.

So I mean instead of slipping Trumps name into a list of people who went to the Island or some bogus testimony about him getting foot massages next to Matt Groenig, they put in Bugs Bunny and Gandhi in the list. I mean nothing that obvious but just enough to mess up any attempt to actually et any legal use out of the documents.

95 The Left is going after Trump over Epstein for the same reasons we had years of Russia, Russia, Russia. They are out blow up his presidency, blow up personal life, and lay the groundwork for further action if the D's gain the House.

The idea that Trump was sneaking around to bed Epstein's underage girls is ludicrous: Trump Tower, his legacy, or twenty minutes with 16 yo being sex trafficked. It makes a much sense as that false accusation of him sexually assaulting that Dem shill in a department store dressing room. That's just not him from everything I have observed. Except for Rosie, he treats women with a respect.

Once again his army of political enemies are going after him again with nothing but inuendo and smokey smears. This is exactly the BS Schiff pulled over J6. Same for the Russian coup; Trump is the only one not guilty of committing actual crimes during that.

At the end of the day I am taking him at his word because he has earned that by the totality of who he is and what he does. I am picking a side: that man is innocent.

I suppose, but I also don't understand how any normal person can be looking at this through a American politics partisan lens.

If what I think happened happened, that would mean our Deep State through their CIA spies was sex trafficking young American girls to the wealthy and elite in the US, UK, and Israel, then using videotapes of those people having sex with teenaged girls as blackmail / leverage to control the actions of these rich and powerful people from behind the scenes.

If that's not what happened, I think it's very important to release everything so that we can see that.

Because if that IS what happened, then this is a major fucking deal, and a biggg problem that transcends normal partisan politics.

And I don't see how people throw up their hands and say "oh, who cares? Talking about Epstein only hurts Trump."

I think that is probably the case. I also don't think Epstein was actually a billionaire, I think the CIA / Mossad / MI-6 / tbd set him up with money from Les Wexner (who gave Epstein full power of attorney over all of his assets for some unknown reasonable) and probably also from the money Ghislaine Maxwells father stole from the pension funds in the UK, but the entire purpose of all of this was to create a honeypot, and -- as you say -- Epstein was just the hired frontman.

fun fact: When the Astrodome was being built they wanted it to have that atomic building sign on it to encourage the citizens they had a place to go if we were under attack. The lower super structure met that standard and Roy Hofheinz wanted to make the roof also 'atomic proof' so he could state of federal financial assistance. No deal could be made.
Out came Buckminster Fuller who designed a geodesic dome that would be much cheaper to build using that newfangled metal nobody could pronounce called aluminum.
US Steal was so paranoid about it they provided the steel roof structure for free.
That roof 'floats' on timbers to accommodate the daily expansion and contraction of the frame.

222 I have a ton of Michael Jackson stories, he didn't pay his bills, you had to go to small claims court to be paid, the monkey was an asshole, he used to shut down the Toys R Us at night and bring in a bunch of kids and let them buy anything they wanted.
One time he sent a kid in to a fancy jewelry store and the kid asked to look at the most expensive jewelry in the store and Michael came in wearing some weird disguise and the jeweler hit the silent alarm and the cops came and the jeweler chewed out Michael Jackson, the jeweler didn't care who you were, don't do that in my store.

And I agree, I don’t give a rats behind if he loses his job, that should be the least of his worries if he partook. I am worried about us, and decisions his court has made, what happens there. I do not give a flying fig about what negative thing happens personally to anyone on the list. They earned it and they deserve it. It’s the bigger picture.

That said, we shouldn’t really borrow trouble. We don’t know if any of this will matter until we do. If we do.

Although his comments could be pretty funny. Once when seeing Carter, Ford, and Nixon together, Dole muttered "See No Evil, Hear No Evil ... and Evil".

I'm not even that concerned about the people involved. Yes they should go to jail (although SoL has likely run on most crimes at this point). I assume all of our politicians are liars and perverts.

I'm more concerned that our intel agencies seem to have decided that they should be the ones running the country, not the elected officials chosen by the people.

And it's not just the Epstein thing, although I think this has the possibility of being the clearest, more easily digestible evidence of exactly who the "Deep State" is, how they operate, and how much power they have really accumulated.

I am absolutely NOT arguing that. I am saying that is what we will hear from our side trying to justify it. In fact, you will see I countered it by saying the settlement they already got, which has and will be brought up again, hardly makes them whole. And I am not at all arguing against her testifying, I am saying we should know, but we should be ready for all that comes with it. It isn’t going to be a public slaughter, we should be ready for that, too. Because that is reality, not because that is how I want it to be.

252 re: the ages of the girls.

Some / many of them were legal to have sex with in some of the places where they had sex. FL age of consent is 18, NY is 17, USVI is 16, NM is 16.

And many were not legal to have sex with anywhere in the US, because they were 14 or 15.

That's not really the point here. The people who had sex with these girls would very obviously not want it out there that they had sex with a 16 year old girl in New Mexico that was flown there by Jeffrey Epstein to have sex with them, even if technically it's not statutory rape in that situation. They'd go to some pretty extreme lengths to keep that information from going public, I would think.

So the question is, who set up this entire operation and to what ends, and what did they get out of it? If the true answer is that Epstein is a lone wolf, then I can't imagine any reason the entire FBI and CIA files on Epstein are not already public.

I hate that term. Any weapon can be an assault weapon if use to assault someone. But the items in my home are defense weapons. I have many. I have a big framing hammer with a hatchet handle that is always nearby.

But it does not have the thing that goes up. And it's not black.

258 funniest thing about the Astrodome was that originally it had real grass on the field. The roof wasn't clear so it all died. Then AstroTurf was created

first year: during a day game fielders had a hard time tracking a fly ball so they tried 'frosting' the panels. That killed the grass. So Monsanto developed astroturf.

It took a while to dial it in and for the first couple of years the ushers brought out buckets to catch the rain drops that leaked through the panels and frames.

He seemed pretty nice to a young kid like me -- but definitely cocky and a con-man personality.
