The Classical Saturday Morning Coffee Break & Prayer Revival

IMG_1659.JPG

It's true and you know it deep down in your heart.

Anyway......Good morning boys and girls and everything in between. Before we enter the Prayer Revival just a few housekeeping matters to go over. (Rulz for those of you in Viola)

1) This is an open thread. Feel free to lurk, opine and/or bloviate or a trifecta.
2) Be kind. Be nice. And FHS no impaling the trolls.
3) No. Don't. Even. Think. About. It! No running with sharp objects
4) Have a nice weekend!

AoSHQ Weekly Prayer List

Please submit any prayer requests to me, “Annie’s Stew” at apaslo atsign hotmail dot com. Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks unless we receive an update.

Prayer Requests:

5/3 – D asked for prayers for his wife, Susan, who has been having some issues. They went to the hospital on 5/1, and all the signs are pointing to pancreatic cancer. They meet with other doctors on 5/5. Any prayers would be a blessing.
6/5 Update – The doctors have confirmed it is cancer, but they have not yet determined if it can be removed, or if chemotherapy will be needed first, to shrink the mass. They are so thankful for all the prayers and ask for them to continue.
7/3 Update – D asked for everyone’s prayers. At Susan’s appointment on 7/1, the doctor didn’t like what he saw. Susan has been in a lot of pain and was admitted to the hospital for a few days. They send their thanks for the love and prayers.

5/10 – Cosda asked for prayers for his wife, who recently had a mole removed that came back as melanoma cancer. She is scheduled for surgery next week, and it looks like that should remove it completely.
6/20 Update – The PET and brain scans showed no active cancer cells, which is great. But since it’s melanoma, and cancer was found in a lymph node, she is going to receive immunotherapy for the next year. Thanks to all. The prayers are working!

5/17 – neverenoughcaffiene asked for prayers for her sister-in-law, Jackie, who is looking at dialysis. Her kidneys have been failing for several years is she is getting close based on her numbers. Hopefully new meds will help.
6/28 Update – Jackie is stabilized and is working on exercising to make her last vacation to Italy in October. Thank you for the prayers; they definitely helped.

5/29 – Teresa in Fort Worth sent an update and her thanks for all the prayers and words of encouragement. They have sustained her and her family as she continues to battle cancer. She continues to receive good news: her oncologist is quite pleased with her response to the current medication protocol; they are decreasing the lab work frequency to every other week instead of weekly; the side effects from chemo have been barely noticeable; she can just take 4 tiny pills for chemo instead of spending one day a week at the cancer center. It’s been 7 months so far, and she expects that at some point the tumors will start growing again, but for now, they are encouraged.
6/6 Update – Teresa has a side effect from the chemo – her fingernails and toenails are starting to loosen and “lift” off their nail beds. It is painful, and also carries a risk of infection.
7/9 Update – Teresa in Fort Worth sent an update – all is well for her for now. She will have more lab work done on 7/15, and then a CT scan on 7/28 to see if the tumors have shrunk any more. She is still losing hair, and her fingernails and toenails are still being “wonky”. She is not nauseous, so she is happy with her current situation.

6/11 – Legally Sufficient asks the Horde’s prayers for her friend, Bubba, who was in a bad auto wreck on 6/8. Prayers for comfort, healing, and strength are needed for Bubba and his family. He is in ICU and will be there for a couple more weeks. Thank you!
7/15 Update - Legally Sufficient asks for continued prayers for healing, strength and comfort for her friend Bubba. God is great! Bubba continues slow and steady improvement following his horrific vehicle accident. She received a photo of him visiting a job site this week and she said she doesn’t mind telling you that it suddenly got dusty here. Bubba was not able to stay very long before the heat and humidity took a toll and he was forced to retreat to air conditioning. Bubba is still under doctor’s orders to not drive, but has an able and willing chauffeur (his wife) who takes him where he wants to go. The prayers are working, please keep them coming for a little while longer!

6/14 – Inspector Cussword requested prayers for Brother Tim. He has had a horrible time, living in his car and has just been handed a cancer diagnosis. Please pray for God’s Provision to be clear and comforting to him, and for his healing.
7/5 – Update - Brother Tim posted a comment that he learned on 6/30 that the lymph nodes showed no signs of the cancer, which means that it has not spread.
7/11 Update – Brother Tim posted that he was moved to a rehabilitation facility on 7/7, and God willing, he will continue to make progress and be hobbling around normally soon.

6/24 – Fenelon Spoke asked for prayers on behalf of Sock Money and family, at the death of his brother, and for AOP who has PVC and spent hours in the hospital on 6/23. Also, Pawn could use prayers due to work issues; people are being laid off. Please pray for Israel as well as our country, and for Donald Trump, JD Vance, their families, and all of the Trump administration.

6/28 – Dave R requested prayers for healing, strength, recovery, and curing, as he was recently diagnosed with non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. He is 62 and a long-time AoSHQ reader.
7/5 Update – Chemo starts on 7/7.

6/28 – H asked for prayers for a mom of two elementary aged boys who lost her mother 3 weeks ago, and her husband on 6/28, both to cancer.

6/28 – Ben Had requested prayers for Jay Guevara, as he was seriously ill.
6/30 Update – IrishEi posted that Jay Guevara has passed away, and offered prayers for peaceful repose in God’s hands and for comfort for his loved ones.

7/3 – 469 requested prayers for some medical tests he has coming up.

7/3 – Ciampino’s daughter posted to let us know that Ciampino is back in the hospital. He is dehydrated again. His kidney cyst is back and bigger, so he will need to have another surgery, but they don’t know when.
7/7 Update – Ciampino passed away. His daughter posted how much he loved everyone’s witty humor on the site, and sent her thanks for giving him years of enjoyment and community.

7/5 – Boswell asks for prayers for his best friend Mark’s mother. She is 90 years old and was diagnosed with sepsis after her colon burst. She had surgery on 7/3, but her recovery is not going well. She is too weak for the tests she needs to find out what is wrong. Please pray that she recovers fully, as she and Mark are very close. He is devastated.
7/16 Update – Mark’s mother passed away peacefully in her sleep. Mark is, of course, quite saddened by this, but at least she did not suffer at the end, and her family was by her side when she went. Boswell hopes that his friend finds solace that she lived a long, happy life and she raised such a wonderful son.

7/9 - Teresa in Fort Worth asks for prayers for her niece Amanda, and her husband Barkley. They are at Vanderbilt Hospital, where Amanda seems to be rejecting her seond heart transplant. She is only 40 years old, and has been having heart issues for 20 years. She had her first heart transplant 4 years ago, and things are not looking good.

7/11 – Racially Ambiguous Honky, the brother of G’rump/toby928, sent his thanks for the prayers on his behalf, after his appendix burst and he had sepsis. He says he is recovering well.

7/11 – JR requested prayers for the families of those killed in Gaza.

7/11 – Stateless sent his thanks to all for their thoughts and prayers for him. His house officially became his on 6/30, ending 6 months of uncertainty since his Mom passed. He is getting stronger and is learning about and working to process emotions differently, after losing so much.

7/11 – Screaming in digital asked for prayers for her mother. Mom is still recovering from a UTI plus 3 falls within the last couple of days. During the day, there is some improvement. But once she starts sundowning, she is terrified and clings to whatever she can hold onto. She only weighs about 105-110, and isn’t eating much, but it is hard to move her when she is like that. If she doesn’t improve her mobility and cooperate/help with transfers to and from the wheelchair, etc., and consistently feed herself, she won’t be able to stay at the assisted living facility.

7/11 – Frankie asked for prayers for her friend “R”, who is back on hospice for Huntington’s disease. He was on hospice before, but went off for an experimental medication, but unfortunately it wasn’t helpful.

7/11 – Igotnothing sent a prayer of praise. A grand-nephew, quadriplegic since birth due to deformities, and now age 10, after many surgeries and care and prayers, is able to walk. The boy and his family (mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-aunt and great-uncle) went on his first ever walk in the woods. What joy!

7/11 – Matthew Kant Cipher requested prayers for Layne, a family friend who is also his son’s FIL. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer and is awaiting further test results to determine whether they treat with chemo or remove his bladder. As of now, it appears to be contained. Please pray that he and his family are blessed with God’s love and grace through this time of trial.

7/18 Tecumseh Tea had a heart attack which was in JJ's Morning Report.

For submission guidelines and other relevant info, please contact Annie's Stew, who is managing the prayer list. You can contact her at apaslo at-sign hotmail dot com. If you see a prayer request posted in a thread comment, feel free to copy and paste it and e-mail it to Annie's Stew. She tries to keep up with the requests in the threads, but she's not here all of the time, so she may not see it unless you e-mail it to her. Please note: Prayer requests are generally removed after four weeks or so unless we receive an update.

2 Corinthians 4:8-9
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed.

10 Morning again, Coffee Folken,

I actually still have some java left in the pot I made when I got up. The small cup I've been using since April, my retirement cup if you will, allows me to have several separate cups each morning, but each is smaller, so (in theory) I use less coffee every day.

Who am I kidding, I still swill more than I should. It's good for me, right? Right??

Gray wolf update: Colorado Parks & Wildlife releases video of new wolf pups

"On Thursday, CPW shared footage from a game camera that shows three wolf pups playing in a sun-dappled clearing."

Sun-dappled? Really? If they were in a sun-dappled clearing I think accurate reporting would have described them as cavorting, frolicking or perhaps even gamboling. Those playful little scamps! Just so darned cute! D'awwww!!

The wolf pup play prepares them for a future life of throat-ripping, hamstringing and mauling beef cattle and deer with the occasional rampage throough a chicken coop. If we deep-faked video of Bambi joining the pups in that sun-dappled clearing the pups would have playfully chased him down and playfully dragged him down by his haunches.. Such fun.

Do you think they got the plaque because they were found dead there or is it something you can order/buy down at the Parks and Recreation office? Do they have to buy the whole bench? Is the plaque so the crack smoking hoe or bum sleeping there knows who to thank for the free ride?

67 I've come to look forward to the Saturday AM Wolf report from Muldoon. I live in NC, we have a few introduced red wolves, but not those monster grays like CO has. When I talk to my daughter in Parker, CO I usually bring some wolf news, courtesy of Muldoon. My son-in-laws family are long time cattlemen in the Kim, CO area and don't like the wolf business one bit.

They were probably donors to the park. Or involved in civic matters related to the park. I see those, and other park related things like gardens or a gazebo that are memorialized.

At my late parents retirement community there's a tree memorializing my father. He was active in the community and probably donated money to various causes.

The auditorium that the New York Philharmonic plays in was called Philharmonic Hall when it opened in 1962. It was an acoustical disaster. Leopold Stokowski came in before the opening, clapped his hands once and said, "You called me too late."

It was remodeled in 1977 with a gift from Avery Fisher, who it was renamed after. It remained an acoustical disaster. Orchestra musicians called it "A Very Fishy Hall".

It amazes me to see how many people don't get what Trump is doing. It's like all those years in professional wrestling are completely forgotten.

He's doing a "heel turn" regarding Epstein, a sudden, unexpected about-face and that includes reviling fans. This is stock and trade on pro wrestling, and the whole point of it is to stir the pot, raise everyone's pulse and then - when the time is right - reverse course and be the hero again.

The Trump vs Elon feud was a test run of this concept, with Elon playing the heel. The BBB got through, and then the whole plot just disappeared.

What Trump is doing with Epstein is making the Dems push the issue, and they are stupidly doing just that because whatever Trump hates, they love.

As for Bondi, she is the most effective conservative AG I've ever seen, racking up wins across the board.

111 Good morning Horde! Prayers up for all. Always amazed at the (generally) fun and positive attitudes here in light of all the troubles, this group seems to truly live the verse at the end of the list. I generally check in and read the list (but not always in time to comment). Haven't provided an update in quite awhile. I'm doing great. Healthy (regularly competing in 5ks and Triathlons- 5 top 5 finishes/podiums this season). Ex Mrs. Farmer Bob has gone off the deep end (or, I guess, just remains so). She started stalking/harassing me with phony accounts on FB back in February, then crazy Tik Tok videos and FB shitposts. Strange/weird lies and accusations ("You gave up on your wife and family") when she abandoned us all, physically, financially, emotionally. It's weird, she asked for no contact back in Sept 2023. I honored that request, even though at first it felt like it would kill me. Not sure what's going on with her, but she looks absolutely terrible in the videos she's posted- gained at least 60 lbs, looks like she's aged 10 years in 2. Figure my best bet is to just ignore her. So, I guess what I'm saying is, thank you for your prayers, spare some for her if you can.

Maybe they'll have some sort of tribunal instead. If it gets that far.

I look back at J6 and note that not a single soul from the government has been held accountable, even though we know who was involved in setting it up.

Haven't most of the prosecutors been fired? That is a form of accountability. As to criminal charges, we are still early in the term and Trump has a lot more judges to appoint and lawyers to hire. Just exposing it was hugely helpful.

As to Obama, they won't touch him directly, but they will prosecute everyone at that meeting and remember, the process is the punishment. Bankrupt all of them and destroy their reputations. Make them finger each other on the stand, trying to save their own butts.

If we deep-faked video of Bambi joining the pups in that sun-dappled clearing the pups would have playfully chased him down and playfully dragged him down by his haunches.. Such fun.

163 A bit of a family update for those who have been following events at Chateau Lloyd.

My oldest seems to have turned over a new leaf in the last few weeks. She moved back in with us without actually asking. She would visit on weekends and stay in the kids' room but in June she never bothered to leave. And every night, more of her stuff showed up.

This caused a bit of friction, but I've learned that I often create my own opposition, so I've been mostly passive. Anyhow, when i discussed getting new furniture for the kids, which would include one of those cool twin/full size bunk beds, showed her what I was looking at and agreed with her choice, things began to change. It was little things at first, but yesterday she was doing yard work, tidying up the front lawn and sidewalk, pulling weeds, etc.

In short, she is helpful and cooperative, as she used to be. God be praised!

The public college is part of the City University of New York system, in which many reported instances of Jew-hatred have been documented since Oct. 7. Queens College was one of the few schools that the Anti-Defamation League gave an “A” grade in its 2025 campus report card.

216 Mr. Trump was, I remain convinced, the political equivalent of “In Case Of Emergency, Break Glass” kinda guy, held in reserve for just such an occasion. He had reportedly been considering a presidential run for quite some time. He knew what was entailed, and conducted himself accordingly for quite some time as well.

It is an axiom in politics, that leftists will hold people to standards they themselves reject, ordinarily. But this is why it is so important to stay out of any controversy they can hold against you, an almost impossible standard, but there it is. The Electorate finally caught on. The Democrats were incandescent with rage, that the Evangelicals, those poor benighted mouth breather hicks in Flyover Jesus Land, would deign to vote for such an uncouth, boorish monster from Queens. The Horror!

I understand the logic in not doing so, though. All those ticks embedded in the justice system? These are the people who embedded them. There isn't a court that would convict any of them of anything, so best-case is that as they scramble to get away, people see it and assume their guilt from those actions. They won't be punished legally, but their influence can be destroyed, and frankly that's the most important thing.

NYC seems to be prepared to elect the Communist snake-oil salesman, Zoltan Mad-Manny (I don't care enough to learn the correct spelling of his name). What he's selling won't work - and has never worked. But what is being lost in the discussion by Mad-Manny's opponents is that this is a spiritual conflict.

The utilitarian arguments are not going to dissuade people for voting for Mad-Manny. It needs to be explained that he is committing the sins of Pride (by thinking that he has all of the answers for a system with millions of moving parts) and Theft (by his "abolition of private property" scheme to create communal housing), and encouraging the sins of Envy (by offering "free stuff") and Anger (by pitting groups against each other).

There is such a thing, though, especially in planning circles.

Some years ago I developed a pre-planning campaign analysis tool for the Air Force. The idea is that you use this wargame to learn about the local geography, politics, etc. before you start planning so you know what you are dealing with.

Once you have that area knowledge, you can start the Joint Planning Process.

Now, like last night, they think they can just camp out in our bedroom. The larger one even jumped up on the bed after MiladyJo was up, but did respond to my yelling to get down. Only three more nights. Maybe four.

I showed them. I got up, dressed, and first thing took our Daisy the excellent Malinois out for a good walk. Before it got too hot out.

Now I've caught up on the ONT tail-end and jumped over the tech thread to land here. Coffee is fresh and hot. Now to check the hidden click and the prayer list.

Yes, but they mistake forbearance for weakness. Americans are slow to saddle up, that much is true.

A high trust society is not a luxury or “nice thing to have”, it is a pre-requisite (sorry!) to a functioning society, or advanced modern civilization. The shithole countries have never amounted to anything and never will amount to anything, so long as they fail to advance along those lines. Americans suffer from normalcy bias, thinking (or hoping) that things will somehow get back to normal, but that’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works.

I have to write planning documents fairly frequently. Even before you start the actual analysis, the DoD requires that you define what you're attempting to analyze, the goals of the analysis, and how you're going to accomplish the analysis. The idea is to prevent mission-creep (often unsuccessfully).

My latest mania is watching videos out of China showing just how messed up the place is. China has long underperformed, but it's interesting to compare Taiwan, which benefits from high-trust, Confucian culture with Western elements thrown in and the Mainland, where Communism has resulted in a selfish, totally dysfunctional society where people think putting lead paint in kids' lunches is perfectly fine.

That's the latest scandal, by the way, made worse by the fact that local doctors faked the lead poisoning test results to try to cover it up. My folks went to a "retirement community." They started out in a duplex. Paid a "mortgage" but never actually owned the place, but got to take the interest off on taxes. Paid their own utilities too. But the maintenance was part of the deal. When my dad's dementia got so bad, and he was more or less immobile, he went into assisted living until being moved into hospice. All at the same place.

It was a suitable arrangement for them. My mom passed away in 2020, in the very duplex they started out in about 20 years ago.

And, yea, it cost them a lot of money. But I think it was worth it.

Much as we hate them I think there is a tendency to believe that unless the media hypes a story it doesn't really exist. The documents Tulsi released are earth shattering. Most of us have known for a long time the basics of what happened and when but to get actual documentation that Obama knowingly sent his intel community on a mission to rewrite the intelligence to frame his successor and run a coup against him is banana republic stuff. It can't be ignored by everyone.

And we are just getting started. This is why Kash and Bongino were put in their jobs. To finally get to the bottom of this whole conspiracy and finally put the truth out with receipts.

Posted by: runner

Yes, they are definitely expensive but I was surprised that it was within reach for my mother. She had a long term care policy. It had various levels of benefits, including a 1/4 benefit which you could request as "cash benefits" to help with informal caregiving, outside a facility.

With her LTC plus SS and small retirement income, she could afford AL with a little left over each month. But she wouldn't have been able to afford skilled nursing.

I don't like to give advice, but if you can, buy an LTC policy. They're cheaper if you start younger. (I started mine at age 27 - probably the only smart thing I've ever done.) We had difficulty getting the proper documentation to get mom approved, but once she was in, they were great.

I doubt most of them even know yet. It's not like the media they watch is telling them.

I saw a recent poll that shows most Democrats still think Russia collusion was real. They live in a bubble and it's going to take a lot of pounding on them with even more evidence to get them to finally see the truth.

Even then they won't care. But normal Americans will.

And others simply will never go.

The mother of one of my mother's friends passed away within a week of hearing she was going into a home.

And Mom was in the hospital, seemed fine to hear that she was going to a facility on Friday and was gone by the following Thursday. She loved her house.

I've heard several stories like that.

I have to keep reclaiming the house - so many renovations, so much cleaning now that the pkace is mine. Thank You God!

Why so many people look for validation from a bunch of lying sociopathic Communist Fifth Columnists mystifies me. A perfect example is that twink that just recently claimed that he got PTSD from the reaction of the attendees to the near-assassination of Donald Trump at Butler, PA. He claims that thought he was going to killed by the crowd until Trump got back up.

See, he's the real victim, here, not the guy that narrowly missed being killed. Looking for validation from the likes of him is a waste of time.

I mean there's no reason not to expect both. Obama being put under a microscope is a good thing, even if only underlings take the fall. Having him under oath as an unindicted co-conspirator will be epic and destroy his reputation.

Meanwhile, self-deporting is only going to accelerate. A lot of people held back because of the court cases, but now they see that things are picking up speed and thousands more agents are being hired and new prisons put up in record time.

This is another benefit. The Dems have lost their cash flow through USAID and now their expenses are surging. Those high-priced firms can't provide pro bono services forever. Bondi's strategy of letting the cases play out, while finding now legal justifications to keep the deportations going has stretched the Dems hard.

People pick on her, but look how carefully she's maneuvered through the judicial minefield, totally sidestepping the constitutional crisis trap.

At the same time she's naming and shaming J6 staff, firing dozens of people and puting DoJ on a war footing. Epstein is a rope-a-dope.

I mentioned in the ONT a day or two ago that their first washer/dryer set lasted from 1972 (when they got the house) until 2020 or so. The second one lasted until about 2023. The third one is currently hors de combat, waiting a couple of weeks for a replacement computer board. But hey, it's got a fancy digital readout, rather than just physical knobs and buttons like some kind of caveman tool.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy spending time with them... it's just that I don't exactly consider the laundromat to be quality time... especially not at 0800 on a Saturday morning.

Funny thing that Lizzie and Mamdani don't even realize yet is that you have to have some thuggish Secret Police inside at all times to beat the crap out of anyone who tries to steal; otherwise the entire store is looted clean the first day it opens, and that's the end of that.

Actors often smoked, cigarettes, cigars, pipes, in TV shows and movies. William Conrad was a pipe collector and smoked some of his own pipes as Cannon. Police shows like 87th Precinct showed cops smoking.

Oddly, for a show based (however mildly) on James Bond, U.N.C.L.E. did not show its leads smoking. The first year communicator was a cigarette case, and we saw Solo *light* a cigarette maybe twice in the whole year, but not really puffing on it. After that they had the pen communicators, and neither Solo nor Illya touched a cigarette again.

It reminds me of Dan Rather saying that he couldn't produce the original document in that old Texas Air National Guard scandal with Bush. My first Communism lessons came through two men who arrived here in the 50s and 60s, one Hungarian and one Russian, one a machinist and the other a concrete guy. Both knew work, what constituted value, crushing oppression and poverty.

The Hungarian taught me what it means to lose a nation, lose your freedom, feel terror and the mind boggling amount of guts it took to escape it. He hated the Soviets with a heat that is still toasty to this day. He expressed this with the best profanity laced insults that could go on for what seemed like hours. He taught me a lot about the value of purposeful cursing.

The Russian taught me how great was my life. He never took for granted what it meant to have food in the house and what we had here in the states was a miracle. He also taught me what it means to live without fear of being arrested on a whim; him growing up under Stalin made him something of an expert on this subject.

Momdani is menace, a liar, a fraud who is out to fail us into hell.

You forget who's running the country now.

What irks so much of us outside of NYC is that it always acts like it thinks it's the most important city in America. No; to the rest of us it's a piece of shit that we'd just as soon be rid of.

However, I'll compromise: I'd support bailing out NYC if we could put it under direct Federal Military Control, and ban all city elections from now on, due to the general mental incompetence of the residents. After that, appoint Baron Trump as Duke of New York.

It's almost exactly the same as having a some guy wearing feathers, smacking a drum and doing a rain dance.

Whatever the outcome (Did it rain or didn't it), the answer was clear: The gods are satisfied/the gods are angry.

He did his dance, things happen, he has an explanation for it. Who wouldn't believe him, we can see it for ourselves.

We were, but it just happened that way. I've lived in carpeted apartments ever since I left home, which was when Carter was running for President, and I'm tired of carpets. The cats like to scratch them, they collect hair and dirt, if the cats throw up on the carpet it's a pain to clean, etc.

When I buy my house, an existing hardwood or laminate floor will be a selling point for me. If I have to have the floors redone in the laminate, so be it.

Generally applicable statement:
Carpet has gotten a bad rap over the past half century but if it's well cared for and kept neat and clean it's more comfy and better looking than hardwood. Not to go all chesterton's fence about it but it was installed down there for a reason and just yanking it up willynilly without thinking things through isn't the improvement people think it is.

452 Talc used to be made from asbestos. Nowadays it's corn starch. Not sure there is any difference in actual practice.

The Pinaud Clubman brand, infused with their signature "barbershop" scent, is great stuff, but ordinary Johnson's Baby Powder works too.
Posted by: Wolfus Aurelius, Dreaming of Elsewhere at July 19, 2025 09:32 AM (omVj0)

No, talc is a mineral in its own right, and is mined for extensively. Thing is, the geological conditions essential to its formation are also conducive to the formation of various asbestos minerals, and they can be co-mingled in the mine. Asbestos can be ground to fine powder as easily as talc, but the powder granules are slender crystalline slivers instead of tiny flakes, and can apparently pierce the walls of body cells.

Moral: don't inhale talcum powder dust, or blow it up your hoo-hah, and you will be fine.
