Trump Advises Prosecution of Adam Schiff for Mortgage Fraud
This doesn't seem like a big story but it's a slow news day.
The problem is that Schiff claims his Maryland home is his primary residence in order to get a lower interest rate for the mortgage. But the law says that a Senator must actually reside in his home state (California, in Schiff's case). This could be characterized as mortgage fraud, but I dunno. We all know that most senators live permanently in the DC area and the idea that they are primarily residents of their "home" state is just another fiction in the Empire of Lies. Then again, I have been reliably informed that No One Is Above the Law, even when it comes to ticky-tack stuff like keeping a napkin you wrote a note on as president.This isn't much of a post so I'll try to find another story within 30-40 minutes.
President Donald Trump on Tuesday urged "justice" for Sen. Adam Schiff, D-Calif., after Fannie Mae's Financial Crimes Division concluded that he engaged in a sustained pattern of possible mortgage fraud. "I have always suspected Shifty Adam Schiff was a scam artist. And now I learn that Fannie Mae's Financial Crimes Division have concluded that Adam Schiff has engaged in a sustained pattern of possible Mortgage Fraud," Trump posted on Truth Social. "Adam Schiff said that his primary residence was in MARYLAND to get a cheaper mortgage and rip off America, when he must LIVE in CALIFORNIA because he was a Congressman from CALIFORNIA," he added. "I always knew Adam Schiff was a Crook. The FRAUD began with the refinance of his Maryland property on February 6, 2009, and continued through multiple transactions until the Maryland property was correctly designated as a second home on October 13, 2020. Mortgage Fraud is very serious, and CROOKED Adam Schiff (now a Senator) needs to be brought to justice." Fannie Mae has not issued a public statement as of press time.

Realistically, nothing would happen if you or I did this. But if someone decided to make something happen or come after us for some reason, they would certainly use it.

The banks all know about it and look the other way. The banks care even less about this than they do the property owner's estimation of the property's value. You can't defraud someone who knows you're lying.

I don't know how "primary residence" was defined in the mortgage document. Though, I tend to think both lenders and insurers care to know in which house the owner actually spends most of his time. I watched the whole Trayvon Martin trial on YouTube. I think it's safe to say that the girl had an IQ in the low 80's at best.
She clearly knew she had lines she was supposed to know, she just wasnt smart enough to apply those lines to the questions asked. To either side, frankly. And when she got frustrated, she'd let out bits and pieces of the truth.
I think she was just wayyyy to stupid to be a coached witness in a trial.

I watched the whole Trayvon Martin trial on YouTube. I think it's safe to say that the girl had an IQ in the low 80's at best.
She clearly knew she had lines she was supposed to know, she just wasnt smart enough to apply those lines to the questions asked. To either side, frankly. And when she got frustrated, she'd let out bits and pieces of the truth.

I suppose it depends on how he marked his California house. If both are registered as "primary" you might have a case. You can be a "resident" of one state (DL, voter registration) while spending more than half your time in another state, especially for work.
The Tish James one seems like much more of a real case because she had no reason to list a Virginia home as her primary (she has no job there) and she did other shady stuff like list a property as having four units when it had five to skate on multi-family property mortgage rules, besides listing her dad as her husband, whoopsie, who hasn't made that mistake.

But he very likely does spend more than half the year in the DC area, and he earns his money in DC. So for a mortgage purposes, that may be his primary residence.
So for voting purposes, he's a resident of CA, for tax purposes, he's probably a primary resident of MD or whatever.
Although, again, I don't know if there are special rules for Congressmen (do they pay taxes on their income in their home district?), and different states handle taxes, residency, long arm statutes, etc. differently. The first two seasons of NG are pretty bad compared to the rest of the show.
They didn't start getting into a groove until well into season 3.
It was a fine tuned machine after that.

I could take Kess just being written off because at least I had Jeri Ryan to look at. I could take the Doctor becoming more of a main character/Data stand-in, but the episodes in an Irish village nearly killed it for me. The WWI holodeck episodes were better, but still, it's space, not 1943 France.
It's like they completely ran out of ideas, which is probably true - there are only so many aliens and alien planets and alien problems you can solve.

Epstein's was for sexual trafficking but I would have to dig up the indictment for it because I cannot find a grand jury.
Approximately twenty lawsuits by victims have been filed against the estate for Epstein's crimes with the list of Jane Does and the few named/initialed plaintiffs counting well into the double digits. Alleged assaults from the 1970's onward.
