Jasmine Ratchet: Biden's Mental Acuity Is Great, It's Trump Who's the Senile One

"I know you are but what am I?" Sick burn, dum-dum.

Jasmine Ratchet is having a normal one:

Jasmine Ratchet isn't just evil -- she's as stupid as a Chia Pet.

A month ago, Jasmine Ratchet told Real News Jim Acosta that Republicans routinely stop her on the street to tell her how much they support her.

My very scanty research seems to say...

A candidate cannot file applications for two or more offices that will be voted on at one or more elections held on the same day. For example, a candidate could not file an application for city council and school board if those elections will be held on the same day. If a candidate files more than one application for a place on the ballot, each application filed subsequent to the first application is invalid.

While not stated here, running for President and another office has, apparently, been legal since 1959 but not House and Senate.

Posted by: TheJamesMadison

It can get weird as far as timing in specific states but generally, you can run in some states for reelection to Congress (including Senate) at the same time as running for president. You cannot generally run for Senate and your House seat at the same time. If you lose your run at the Senate, the primary for the House has already occurred with a new winner for the seat in the new Congress.

I do recall a few instances though where state primaries for federal offices were held at different times than state primaries. So you could technically lose in the federal primary and still run for the state office or vice versa. Also happens with presidential primaries. Then of course writein or independent runs depending on sore loser laws.

106 Afternoon, news folken,

Nasty hot here. I sat out on my step for a little bit since it was overcast after a rain, or at least the threat of one, earlier. Then the sun came out. Unh-unh; back indoors for this boy.

The Killer Kittenz From Outer Space are doing well. Big black Stirling is lined up for his trip to the vet tomorrow for rabies shot and flea treatment; I'll ask them to clip his claws while they're at it.

The Kitten Yoga at the suburban library was kind of fun. All the shelter kittens were shorthairs. There was one sandy male kitten who displayed quite the personality; maybe "personality problem" would be more like it. He did not seem to get along with any of the others who came near him. Yet he was okay with people touching and picking him up, and he played with toys enthusiastically. He's gonna be a handful.

Utah did this! They divided all the house districts into a pie shape, with SLC at the center. So it chops up the bright blue that is SLC/Park City residents and our CA liberal transplants, and evens it out with the deep red of the rest of the counties. The house reps all have to trek out to Hicksville Utah towns to at least pretend to care about their rural concerns. And it prevents SLC from choosing two bright blue senators. Just purplish GOP ones, but it is what it is.

It's the only reason we aren't 100% Colorado blue yet. (Well, that and we'll never legalize recreational weed.) it's amazing when the Utah legislators are smart, sometimes.

About 6 years ago four or five State Supreme Courts (that lean left) in Red States pulled a fast one. They ignored the state constitution that only allows the legislature to set the districts, and hired the same political hack from the Poly Sci dept. of Stanford Univ. This guy then came in and re-drew the maps (PA and NC were two of the states where this happened). He folded traditional red districts into urban centers which totally engulfed the red district. Of course, the State Supreme courts claimed this to be constitutional...even though they set it up. The USSC refused to get involved.

Of course they can, they have unlimited city money behind them. But privately owned grocery stores couldn't, that's why there are way fewer grocery stores in the hood.
Posted by: Harry Paratestes at July 10, 2025 04:57 PM (uCjyK)

I mentioned this before, food stamp recipients should be the only people that buy at city owned grocery stores. Require them to shop there.

The Mormon church has a similar system. They have private stocked grocery stores or food pantries called "bishop's storehouses" for members of the church going through hard times. If you get approved by your ward's bishop because they see a need, you can go there and get free food and groceries until you are back on your feet. But it requires humility and accountability.

I've never needed their services, knock on wood, but I have done several service projects where we restocked the shelves and cleaned the storehouses.

276 from Bing CoPilot

Lebensraum is a German word that means "habitat" or "living space". In Nazi ideology, Lebensraum meant the expansion of Germany to the east in search of a unity between the German Volk and the land. The Nazi-modified theory of Lebensraum became Germany's foreign policy during the Third Reich. Lebensraum served as a major motivation for Nazi Germany's territorial aggression. Adolf Hitler believed that the German people needed Lebensraum, and that it should be taken in the East.

NYC politics is weird. No one every says or is asked about anything specific.

"I'm going to lower rent prices!" is never followed up with by a reporter with a question like "uhh.. how? How are you going to do that?" and forcing a candidate to actually explain anything.

It's just a bunch of bumper sticker nonsense. One lady ran a ton of commercials saying she was going to "stop the scourge of e-bikes in the city". But she never gave any details, including on her campaign webpage. What does that mean? Arresting the illegals delivering food for driving unregistered vehicles on sidewalks and the wrong way down one way streets? I'm all for it, but you need to say that. And then actually do it.

We have such a generous church welfare system, even with the accountability checks in place. Besides tithing, we also pay fast offerings every month, and they go right to the bishop who runs our local ward/church. He uses those offerings for families in our specific ward in need. They have paid for people's rent, mortgage, schooling, car repairs etc. when they are suffering.

I'm surprised more people don't join the church just as a scam to get free bennies, tbh! Maybe they have and I don't hear about it.

“I talked to President Trump, man-to-man, eye-to-eye, on St. Patrick’s Day about this. … And he said — and I agree — ‘There are a lot of names associated with Epstein that had nothing to do with Epstein’s conduct,’” O’Reilly said Wednesday during an appearance on NewsNation’s “Cuomo.”

“They maybe had lunch with them or maybe had some correspondence for one thing or another,” he told host Chris Cuomo.“If that name gets out,” O’Reilly continued, “those people are destroyed, because there’s not going to be any context. Media doesn’t care about context, so, you can’t do that. You can’t destroy a human being by putting out the files, whatever they may be.”

Oh, so that's the excuse we're going with.

Wouldn't it just then be easier to say "Epstein must have destroyed all of the evidence before he was arrested. We have no idea who he trafficked the girls to, we would only be making guesses based on who he socialized with."

But even that doesn't really work, because the FBI knows who the girls are, and the girls know who they were trafficked to.

Oh well.

That said, if someone had lunch with Epstein, especially after his conviction in FL, shouldn't the public know about that?

If you are employed by BYU, I think you have to live the BYU standards. BYU as a school banned caffeine/soda for decades, so of course it spread like a cultural virus that you could not drink caffeine at all, if you were a "good" mormon. It became an insufferable holier-than-thou thing, but there was no officially policy against soda, just black tea and coffee.

The cynical side of me thinks BYU reversed this ban when they realized all the money they were losing out on, not getting Pepsi or Coke on campus as an official sponsor. Those exclusive contracts with a soda brand for universities is a big deal! But I loved that it threw the holie- than-thous in a tizzy. How can they judge their fellow members now, if not by caffeine consumption!

Baptists have a similar doctrine except on other items related to avoidance of those (booze, dancing, etc) in order to avoid sinning.

Course, the Church of Christ view the Baptists as heathens, the Methodists view the Baptists as Neanderthals, and the Presbyterian/Episcopal churches view all of the above as hopelessly unenlightened. Catholics consider all of these as endorsing heretical ideals and so on.
