Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 7/9/25![]() On a positive note, the Supreme Court handed President Trump another major victory The Supreme Court on Tuesday overturned a lower court’s pause on President Trump’s efforts to downsize the federal government through mass firings at various agencies. . . “Because the Government is likely to succeed on its argument that the Executive Order and Memorandum are lawful — and because the other factors bearing on whether to grant a stay are satisfied — we grant the application,” the Supreme Court order stated. . . Meanwhile, Sotomayor noted that she agreed with Jackson that Trump “cannot restructure federal agencies in a manner inconsistent with congressional mandates,” but indicated its too early to determine if the administration plans to downsize the federal workforce in a manner that is unlawful. “The plans themselves are not before this Court, at this stage, and we thus have no occasion to consider whether they can and will be carried out consistent with the constraints of law,” Sotomayor wrote, concurring with the majority. “I join the Court’s stay because it leaves the District Court free to consider those questions in the first instance.”No, it's not the final word and if these two despicable thugs are still on the bench for the final ruling, it's no mystery that they will vote to preserve protect and defend the almighty State. But still, for now, it's a victory with a TBD as to whether it will be Pyrrhic. That said the utter lawlessness continues unabated as this next story shows: If you thought the judicial coup against the Trump administration couldn’t get any more egregious than it already is, think again. On Monday, District Judge Indira Talwani took it upon herself to try and unilaterally block a provision from legislation passed by Congress to defund Planned Parenthood. Through the use of a temporary restraining order, or TRO, the Obama appointee (and Democrat donor) declared that the Trump administration cannot enforce a provision of the recently passed reconciliation bill that prevents Medicaid funding from going to entities run by the nation’s largest abortion provider. So, a law is legally passed in both chambers of Congress and is signed into law by the President of the United States, and some degenerate black-robed communist shit-whore wog just declares it null and void. And as I merely ponder the notion of ropes and lamp posts, this madness continues: The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) reported that a San Antonio City Council candidate called for the shooting of ICE agents on the streets of Los Angeles. The threat by the self-described Democrat political consultant comes as ICE agents are increasingly assaulted, and a Border Patrol station in Texas came under attack from a gunman.DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin posted on social media that San Antonio City Council Candidate Matthew Gauna called for the killing of ICE agents in Los Angeles. “I wanna see a few dead ICE agents Los Angeles! Don’t let me down.” Thought experiment ONLY: What do you suppose would happen to me if I went on social media and implored people to find this Guano bastard and burn his house down along with DNC headquarters. Don't let me down America! Don't let me down." This comes on the direct violent assault on ICE agents and other LE agents elsewhere and for a mass attack in Alvarado TX. Now, what do you think is going to happen to this sick, filthy, evil Democrat , sorry for the quadruple redundancy there. No doubt he'll get elected. And San Antonio is not necessarily reflective of Texas, or how we would like to believe Texas is and will always remain. Or Heaven forbid not. Democrat power in California rests on that mixture of cronyism, corruption and illegal aliens. Indeed, California is a prime example of a state where political power is built around illegal aliens. Whether or not the illegals actually vote in any number matters less than whether they’re counted for ‘ghost’ districts filled with non-citizens. California’s millions of illegal aliens represent local, statewide and congressional seats that give the Democrats a total lock on power. The state lost a congressional seat because its population only grew from 37.3 million to 39.5 million. How many congressional seats would California lose without its illegal alien population? Subtract even the most liberal number of illegal aliens and California would lose 4 seats (in addition to the one it already lost) bringing its congressional delegation down to 48 seats. That would be bad news for efforts by the Democrats to retake the House, but it would also cut California’s power in the electoral college and would make it harder for the Dems to win presidential elections. That is why they’re willing to risk civil war for illegals. The title and subhead of the aforementioned Daniel Greenfield essay is Why Dems Are Fighting a Civil War Over Illegal Aliens — Without Illegals, Republicans would control the country. You could've stopped right there but it's not a long essay and as always with Greenfield, worthy of a read. The latest podcast should be going live a later today so be on the lookout for that. And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. Redfinn is not the usual place I look to determine the quality of a city park. Fun Fact: Google Earth provides street and sidewalk views of many locations! Viewing the current sidewalk view, there are plenty of drug addicts passed out in the grass; the sidewalk itself is completely covered in bird scat. Grass looks like what you would expect in Section 8 multi-family housing. And this is daylight. Its certainly not a jewel in the crown. It seems that Mamdani got his $140 million figure by misreading a city website. Carney notes that New York City’s “Economic Development Corporation estimates that grocery stores have invested $140 million of their own money thanks to the FRESH program.” Yes, the socialist wunderkind is making a basic, embarrassing error: “Mamdani is counting the $140 million in private spending as government spending. That money was invested not by the city, but by ‘corporate grocery stores.’”
The error that the author makes is forgetting that socialist do not accept the concept of private anything - other than for themselves, their family / friends, and their superiors in the hierarchy of power. Posted by: I used to have a different nic at July 09, 2025 07:49 AM (ExV1e) 42

Morning, J.J.
About that Greenfield article, a town not far from where the lovely Mrs Blake and I lived had a mayor who used the votes of illegals to retain power. Voter intimidation was rampant, because, well, illegals. The guy controlled the city council, too. In the end, the city went into receivership, I believe, because the Mayor embezzled taxpayer funds and what not. Anyway, if anyone is wondering why illegals tend to vote Democrat, at least in CA, it isn't just because of freebies. Voter intimidation is a very real thing. Newsom will visit South Carolina next week in a two-day trip seen as a prelude to a long-rumored 2028 presidential campaign...South Carolina is the first Democratic presidential primary on the calendar, and has a large share of Black voters, a core part of the Democratic base.
Will he change even one republican voter's mind? That's the $64,000 question. I mean, they re-elect that closet case Graham every election. A Democrat from California will NEVER win the Electoral College. Ever. Even in blue states like New Mexico and Colorado, Californians are viewed as “on the fringe” and out of touch with rural/bucolic people. In a way - they are. We just saw how well a CA democrat does. I don’t see Newsom doing considerably better than Harris. We need candidates that can appeal to Midwest and Western voters. I live in CA. He's not a bad governor. He has shown leadership through several crises while dealing with a president who wants to destroy this state. I do like that he’s willing to take on a fight and he doesn’t back down easily. Ironically, you have adopted the intent of the Leftists by abusing Mark 12:17 into believing that the Church is somehow unaffected by government and therefore should have zero influence in matters pertaining to the running and operation of the community. So you lie about the teaching in the passage, which has everything to do with the religious leaders trying to get Jesus to either oppose Roman authority or alienate the Jewish people. They were setting a trap to ensnare our LORD. Since you are wresting Scripture to suit your preferences, why didn't you reference Matthew 5:13-16 (Sermon on the Mount) which completely contradicts your isolationist, Christians should have zero influence on worldy matters stance? Good morning! Good news for a change.
The pastors at my church and my hometown church have pointed out, from the pulpit, that abortion is morally wrong and named names. So the only change is that any pro-aborts in the pews have no legal stick to beat them with. And the Detroit News scooped the news that Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer proposed $15M for a grant program championed by campaign donor Fay Beydoun. AG Dana Nessel has been conducting a criminal probe of Beydoun, who has been getting a hefty salary for a nonprofit that seemingly does nothing. Sadly, many Big Box "pastors" are frauds who see fleecing Christians of tax exempt wealth while whispering moralistic platitudes in their ears as a viable business model. I can name many. Didn't St Katharine of Albany attempt to gather her "disciples" in some craven climate stunt behind the pulpit of a NY "church"? I distinctly remember seeing BLM banners mounted outside Big Box "churches", and there are many "churches" that totally support LGBT+ ideology. I left a so-called "reformed Baptist" church because the pastor opened the "church" to potentially hosting same-sex (tranny) "marriages". (that was a total surprise, but in retrospect the "business model" of pastoring is proven) The OPC famously has "Libertarian" pastors. That said, we should be allowed to identify evil candidates and speak out against social dysfunctions like abortion, pedophilia and LGBT. Jan 21 2025: President Trump does not speak for St. John’s, Mariann Edgar Budde, USAID Grifter, told The Washington Post that day. We disassociate ourselves from the messages of this president and align ourselves with those seeking justice for the death of George Floyd and countless others. Everything he has said and done is to inflame violence. We need moral leadership, and he’s done everything to divide us.

133 Or he's saying so much b/c it's not in it...WB made Supes, so I have way more faith in them than the Disney offerings (I'll be skipping the Fantastic Four)...
I mean, the Superman actor's statements on the character and film show he totally gets who his hero is...and vs the Snyder version, I'm excited. Nothing wrong with a hero whose 1st impulse is to be good all the time, in a naive and innocent way. I like the "farmboy" ideal - seems the most on point to being a true hero... I’ve been following Chris Martz, the young meteorologist on X, for some time now. He’s a good writer and immediately provided the meteorological explanation for the Texas floods - the remains of Tropical Storm Barry collided with a low pressure trough in Texas, got stuck in place, and dropped most of the moisture they were carrying. It was a rare set of circumstances that had nothing to do with climate change or cloud seeding or whatever.
Also, even though it seems rare in the terms of our lifetimes, flooding events like this have happened many times before - this wasn’t even a record setter. (Except possibly in the number of deaths, which is because the area is becoming popular and gaining population) Posted by: Tom Servo at July 09, 2025 08:36 AM (Lhvai) 153
142 Didn't they go gender-swapped-Supes in that Flash movie?
Controversial opinion: I don't like Superman. It's difficult to realistically put him in danger since he's pretty much a god. Any other drama (can I sleep with Lois without blowing out her back like a shotgun when I..) is teenage soap CW junk. I mean, for a planet a kajillion light years away, there always seems to be fragments from the explosion that show up on Earth. Never really worked for me. Posted by: WitchDoktor at July 09, 2025 08:34 AM (FdjOh) This is a totally new take on the character...nothing done before "counts" for this Superman. Personally, I like Superman. All that power but he's a Kansas farm boy at heart. He knows what he could do and chooses to not do it.
In the Chris Byrne reboot, he was given all the knowledge of Krypton and after processing it all, he realized that his real family and his home were more important. Then you get the Injustice storyline that answers the question about what he'd be like if he chose to take over. Posted by: NR Pax at July 09, 2025 08:50 AM (NR6c1) 225

Have you read any of the idiotic decisions these judges are using to strike down Trump's policies? They aren't based on actual law or anything near it which is why they keep getting overturned. That's just one example among scores. It's a biographical/artistic fallacy to argue otherwise. San Antonio is representative of all cities. Every large city, regardless of which state is in, Is like that. Cities are run by communists. Once you’re a few miles away from a city, you’re in America. San Antonio and San Francisco are the same people. Rural California and rural Texas are the same people. State borders don’t mean much. What matters is urban vs non-urban. Posted by: Its Go Time Donald at July 09, 2025 08:42 AM (ImXfC) San Francisco County went something like 80/15 Harris over Trump; Bexar County was something like 54/44 Harris over Trump. Republican appellate judges made some gains in Bexar County in 2024. Not all urban areas are alike. If the GOP continues to make inroads among Hispanics in Texas, Bexar might well get closer. I don't really have a lot of good to say about San Antonio, which an acquaintance once described as the nicest city in Mexico, but it's not especially like San Francisco. The state passed an "affordable housing" law that needed local approval and in one of the wealthy blue towns near me they did so. In the past these laws just led to a little graft for connected people but this one was different.
The state used the law and local approval to seize the town's one fancy hotel, where they had all their big events, and turn it over to a developer that is turning it into tenements for "newcomers". The locals are SHOCKED that the state/town would do this. Even though the state/town people said they were going to do this as part of this law. It is almost comical. Damning Report Urges Trump Admin To Do More To Stop ‘Dangerous Trans Agenda’
*********** Just a quick reminder: The gateway to the hellish rollercoaster ride of gender medical and surgical procedures is the social transitioning that is the default position of the AAP and the pediatric and education professions in general. The mantra is, if a child expresses any passing thought of wondering if they are 'in the wrong body' that thought is to be protected, nurtured and encouraged by parents, teachers, school counselors and supported by classmates via coercion if needed. Let him wear girl's clothing, style his hair longer and let him pick a name that is either feminine or ambiguous and so on. At that point the die is cast. The disfiguration and hormonal destruction comes later. What they call gender-affirming care is neither affirmative nor caring. In reality it is 'delusion validating abuse. Many years ago my city at the time wanted to build “affordable housing”. The city in question was a nice suburb. There was a city council meeting and a TON of people showed up to speak against it. Maybe we should reconsider having large groups of children camp on its banks? Gubmint overdramatizes stuff but... perhaps this should not have been as much of a surprise for the locals... Posted by: Helena Handbasket at July 09, 2025 09:14 AM (ULPxl) I get the sentiment, but most places have some recurring weather hazard potential (floods, fires, tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes, rockslides or mudslides, avalanches, eruptions, tsunamis). Hazards that will over a long enough time materialize and kill people. Maybe this one area should be abandoned. But that case could be made for a lot of places, I'd think. Just dropped by to defend Pam Bondi, Kash Patel, etc.
I know a lot of people don't like it appears Pam's not effective. Same with Kash. However, before we toss too many slings and arrows at anyone in the Trump administration, we have to remember these people are not only under tremendous pressure to get their job done, they also live under the very real threat of assassination. I know people are going to argue they should have known that going in. To which I reply, "Yes, and they joined the Trump cabinet anyway." These people are putting their lives on the line, daily, for little to no reward and plenty of criticism, just or unjust. It's easy to snipe from the sidelines when it isn't your life and livelihood on the line. And make no mistake about it, their problems will not end once they leave the Trump administration. Anyway, my thoughts. Feel free to flame away. Posted by: blake - semi lurker in marginal standing (tT6L1) at July 09, 2025 09:33 AM (tT6L1) 382

University of Houston professor David McNally proposed renaming his school to "George Floyd University" and abolishing tuition and grades at the Socialism 2025 conference Saturday. While wearing a keffiyeh, McNally spoke on a panel in Chicago about what fighting the state would look like in the "context of growing an insurgent mass movement."

From above, "Democrat power in California rests on that mixture of cronyism, corruption and illegal aliens." It's true, and California is certainly not alone. Actually, it's also a good segway from the a**hole, who never had a chance getting onto San Antonio City Council, calling for violence against ICE and TX politics. >San Antonio Report - 'San Antonio lawmakers at the center of Trump’s redistricting plan gear up for a fight,' by Andrea Drusch, June 26, 2025 It begins, "As both parties scrounge for opportunities among relatively few competitive congressional seats in 2026, a potential Texas redistricting fight has captured the imagination of political watchers near and far." -- Also from San Antonio Report Elections 2026, 'Sources: Ron Nirenberg considering potential campaign for governor,' by Andrea Drusch, July 2, 2025 It begins, "Sources say former Mayor Ron Nirenberg has been telling fellow Democrats he’s considering a run for governor in 2026 — a potentially grueling race against the formidable Republican Gov. Greg Abbott." Continued - Posted by: L - No nic, another fine day at July 09, 2025 10:35 AM (NFX2v) 393
"In recent months Nirenberg, 48, has repeatedly teased the idea he could run for another office — in speeches at the San Antonio Hispanic Chamber of Commerce’s gala and other public events.
Last week Nirenberg returned from a family vacation in Spain and immediately appeared alongside Beto O’Rourke, state Rep. James Talarico (D-Round Rock) and U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro (D-San Antonio) — all viewed as potential statewide candidates in 2026 — at an event at San Antonio’s Stable Hall." (More in article.) ------ Looks like Bobby O is stepping back in for some big time TX politics, too! Beto O'Rourke @BetoORourke John Cornyn just cast the deciding vote to stop millions of Texans from being able to see a doctor, take food away from kids, close down rural hospitals, crush solar and wind jobs, and give our tax dollars to the wealthiest people in America.
