It swept away a house with a large extended family in it.
That was a brutal day. My oldest's in-laws have a small place on the Guadalupe in Wimberly that was directly across the river from that house that floated away with people in it. They knew each other by sitting in the river and having beers occasionally. In-laws house sat high enough to survive but they cancelled their stay this weekend when they saw the flooding thats coming to them. Flash flooding is part of life in that part of the country. That's why I'm confused by what happened. The ground can't absorb that much water in so little time. And the people who live there know that. Their should have been warnings put out about the possibility of flash flooding. It's not just West Texas this can happen anywhere in the Southwest. People should be made aware of this. It can and does happen. Prayers for those who have lost loved ones.
