For some reason the title of this devotional from Numbers 16:3, The problem with complaining" from the rabbi's daughter at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews" made me laugh. I guess it's because the people spend a whole lot of time complaining through the Old Testament and then do the same through the New Testament: Anyway, some good thoughts about trusting God:

CBD in Bandol the big horse is Domaine Tempier which also has one of the coolest labels in the wine business.
It can occasionally be reasonably priced. Lots of less expensive ones but the consistency is surprisingly variable for a French wine region. This is based on a relatively small sample size admittedly. Posted by: Pete Bog at July 02, 2025 05:23 AM (g3gst) 27
Bandol is a key appellation of the Provence wine region in far south-eastern France. Created in 1941, the title covers red, white and rosé wines from roughly 1550 hectares (3830 acres) of vineyards around the Mediterranean coastal town of Bandol.
That is like a 6 square mile region or in terms I understand: it takes about 15 minutes to drive across Las Cruces in any direction. Or 9.6 km using French math. We don't have anything like Bandol but we do have flat green chile chicken enchiladas. Flat enchiladas are the waffles of enchiladas. Now you know. Sorry. Websites used to be simple. (Simplesite) Some still are One of life's simple pleasures in that simpler time was a website, "Minsky's Worst of the Web". Its curator made a point of surfing the web to find sites whose presentations and / or appearances were especially cheesy, gaudy or otherwise unintentionally hilarious. It was truly a "you had to be there at the right moment" kind of viewing experience because sites singled out by Mirsky often worked to remove whatever it was that he had mocked about the site. Viewers late to the party thus did not experience the naked aggression of a site's original cheesiness. Posted by: Krebs v Carnot: Epic Battle of the Cycling Stars (TM) Point&Laugh! Point&Laugh! And that is actually one of the issues. Mrs VIA took to reseasoning ALL of her cast iron cookware recently. Which has led to a daily six egg bacon/peppers and cheese omelet split between us. And on the days that we only have traditional steel cut oatmeal, I will consume 4-5 hard boiled eggs throughout the day. I tend to think that this is a project that I will solve the old fashioned way.....money. That would be on topic for the morning Tech Thread. Posted by: Village Idiot's Apprentice I use a Synology NAS where I store all my media. I have this attached to my modem/router. To get things rolling, I have a Plex server running on the NAS. This setup broadcasts access to my streaming media to my home network. My Roku TV has a Plex client app which I connect to the server. At that point it looks like any other streaming media service that you can purchase. Additionally, I have on my phone an app that taps into my server and allows me to stream my music as you would Spotify. Via Android auto my Plex app shows up and it streams through my car stereo. It is all quite slick. Keep in mind you will have to purchase a subscription to the Plex service to make this work or you can buy a lifetime license. There are other options that I did not explore because this was easily available to me. Posted by: Alteria Pilgram - My President has convictions. at July 02, 2025 06:50 AM (NXz8h) 100

Besides having moved from there, we need to keep in mind the upcoming Presidential election. And Maryland's Governor, Wes Moore (D) is going to be a strong contender for that title. I wouldn't go SSDs unless fast access is required such as for large file transfer and access such as in video editing. Otherwise, consider a UPS in your budget if you don't already have one. Utter reliability come from safe/stable power over its lifetime. I've not lost one device HDD since everything has been on UPS. China’s Semiconductor industry enters failure phase - Shanghai Wusheng Semiconductor is bankrupt, while 23 others have pulled their IPOs, according to a report in Tom’s Hardware. Almost 11 thousand chip companies were closed in 2023.
This does not signal that China’s semiconductor industry is in trouble. China’s typical economic policy has been not to pick winners, but to fertilize and water a market with far more money than it can absorb. This generates thousands of competitors in the initial phase, few of which ever generate the profitability to survive. Profitability is the market’s weed killer and China uses it well. This happened in smartphones in the last decade. In the end, the market consolidated into a few giants. So China’s failure phase in its economic policy is really a de-weeding of the bad and a consolidation of the good. One proof of this is that the underperformance of China’s chip stocks versus other regions has recently turned to the positive, suggesting the real winners are becoming visible. So it’s not time to do a victory lap, as the competition will get hotter. Posted by: SMOD at July 02, 2025 10:24 AM (RHGPo) Processing 0.03, elapsed 0.0307 seconds. |
