President Trump on Monday warned oil producers not to raise prices in the wake of U.S. strikes on Iranian nuclear facilities, cautioning that a spike would benefit America's enemies. "EVERYONE, KEEP OIL PRICES DOWN. I'M WATCHING!"

Oil prices fell after the post, with Brent Crude and West Texas Intermediate both slipping by about one percent following earlier gains driven by Middle East tensions.
In a follow-up message, Trump told the Department of Energy: "DRILL, BABY, DRILL!!! And I mean NOW!!!"

Apparently Vladimir Putin called Trump offering to "help" with Iran. I assume he meant "I'll help with Iran if you help with Ukraine." Trump rejected his offer, telling him what he really needed help with was dealing with Vladimir Putin.

Al Green, who is an ugly clown and only got elected because voters thought he was the singer Al Green, once again filed stupid impeachment charges against Trump. They were rejected almost as hard as Democrats rejected Jasmine Ratchet's demand for a leadership position.

A push to impeach President Donald Trump over his recent military actions in Iran was blocked Tuesday after a decisive bipartisan vote in the House. The effort, led by Rep. Al Green, D-Texas, failed as top Democrats joined Republicans in shelving the resolution.

It was horrific. I was staying in the Helioplis section of Cairo a few years prior. Nice section of the city, presidential palace was within walking distance.

I walked out of my hotel to go for a walk around the neighborhood and an armed guard stopped and asked me where I was going. Told him for a walk and he politely but firmly told he that wasn't happening.

He told me "the beards" are always watching and if they see you out walking by yourself at night you aren't coming back in one piece.

With that being said, does this cease-fire make any sense? What is the point, if we accept it at face value? Israel could attack at will, and maybe finally end this once and for all.

Israel has pulled so many tricks out of its metaphorical sleeve. Are they done doing that? I'm hearing that there are uprisings going on in Iran, and drone strikes of unknown origin.

The good guys are like "Gee, we really would like the regime to fall, but aren't getting our hopes up". Maybe there's something behind the scenes to make that happen. Israel has played too many cards at this point to stop short of total victory.

There's a decent reason to leave it active for a bit: reemployment. Clearances are an expensive, time-consuming pain in the ass to get. If you have one, having it is a benefit to you in the job market. If your next employer is doing classified work, already having a clearance is a big boon to both you and the employer, since they don't have to put you in the rubber room and shell out cash until it's done, and you don't have to twiddle your thumbs all day waiting for the clearance to be granted.

Reemployment is a reasonable cause to leave a clearance active for a bit. If you retire, it should be suspended immediately but if you get laid off or have to move or something, I can see a reason to leave it active for a reasonable amount of time to find a new job.

When I retired, my Clearance was immediately suspended... ie non active. It could within a certain time period be reactivated if I needed it for a Job... but I went from above TS... to nothin... the day I left the Military.

That was over 25 years ago... not sure why it would or should have changed.

Agreed, though in that case I think revocation is more in order, rather than suspension. A suspended clearance can be reactivated with relatively little additional overhead. An revoked clearance can't. You start over and start with a black mark.
