Trump Shows Frustration at Israel, Iran, and the Leftwing Gaslight Media

Iran violated the ceasefire a bit, and Israel rushed to punish them for that.

Trump's annoyed that his ceasefire isn't being embraced by both sides.

I think this would be a good time to just say "Let them fight, they clearly want to fight, and the US shouldn't particularly care about stopping them." Particularly given that Iran is crippled and ready to topple.

But Trump does want to appease the Ron Paul pacifist bloc of MAGA, and he wants to honor his pledge to "end more wars than he starts."

[W]hen Iran violated the planned ceasefire and Israel retaliated, Trump was none happy happy about it. Speaking to reporters before departing for the NATO summit at The Hague, Trump was asked whether he believed Iran remained committed to the ceasefire after Israel accused Tehran of violating the agreement. "Yeah, I do. Uh, they violated, but Israel violated it, too," he said, making clear that he saw fault on both sides.

...

The crisis unfolded just hours after the ceasefire took effect, with Iran launching three missiles toward Israel. All the missiles were either intercepted or landed harmlessly, causing no injuries or damage.

When pressed further on Israel's commitment, Trump didn't hold back. "Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I'd never seen before. The biggest load that we've seen. I'm not happy with Israel. You know, when, when I say, 'Okay, now you have 12 hours,' you don't go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on 'em. So I'm not happy with them. I'm not happy with Iran, either. But I'm really unhappy if Israel's going out this morning because of one rocket that didn't land, that was shot, perhaps by mistake, that didn't land."

Wasn't that the whole point of giving them 12 hours before the ceasefire? I'm sure that was the whole point as far as Israel is concerned. When countries accept a ceasefire to begin in the future, they're putting the ceasefire off precisely because they want to get in last licks.

Trump's frustration was palpable as he continued, "I'm not happy about that."

...

Trump summed up his exasperation with a blunt assessment: "You know what we have? We basically have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f--k they're doing. Do you understand that?"

Trump was also angry at the "gutless losers" at CNN and "MSDNC" for attempting to find the dark lining in the silver cloud.

trumpblastscnn.jpg

Meanwhile: The DHS is rounding up Iranian illegals, at least until a federal judge orders them to all be set free to plant their bombs and execute their targets.

Update: Jeb! checks in.

22 Interesting development. I'm sure Trump will be called weak and anti-Israel by the people who were so big on a regime change, since Iran has "been at war with us since the 1970's" and Trump is clearly pissed at Israel for violating the cease fire. Or at least, the spirit of the cease fire.

I hope Trump holds steady on this one.

As far as letting Israel and Iran fight it out -- that is now complicated by the fact that the US is undeniably involved in this war, no? Not only as Israel's arsenal, but we've also now bombed Iran with US planes and US troops.

And of course we have Medvedev's not very veiled threat to arm Iran with Russian nuclear weapons lingering in the background.

Let's all hope and pray Trump can thread this needle and somehow find a way to extradite ourselves from this very unpleasant situation, and hopefully he learned a lesson here about why getting involved in a war at all is a slippery slope when you're the worlds only superpower.

Will it work? I seem...doubtful.

Israel can make good with Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Can Iran make good with Israel the same way? Seems...far fetched as long as the Ayatollah and his regime are in place.

But Trump is right that regime change is messy. Toppling the Ayatollah from the outside will not be easily papered over.

I wasn't in the room, obviously, but I imagine it was some kind of compromise. Usually there's a deadline for a ceasefire. Like in WWI, bombings continued until the moment of the ceasefire. Which... is kind of fucked up when you think about it. Imagine being one of the soldiers who died after a ceasefire was declared, but before it went in to affect.

Anyways. The staggered times, I would guess, were because Israel wanted time to verify that Iran stopped shooting missiles, and needed time to get their assets / planes out of Iran / Iranian airspace. But that's just speculation on my part.

82 The IAF's been doing excellent work setting the table for the Iranians to make their own regime change. Hopefully they understand that Obama was an anomaly and actually go for it this time.

That would be the best outcome. Of course - we'll fuck that up. Because regime change there, and justice, will mean the winners putting the losers up against quite a few walls.

The Western World won't tolerate that. Hence the problem.

83 It does no good to Israel to take hits from Iran and do nothing. War is war, and if one side wants to keep fighting, the other side is not obliged to stand there and take it. Iran started it with their aggressive behavior and proxy war, so let the mullahs suffer. This is FAFO, plain and simple.

Posted by: It's me donna
=======
Result of both sides not trusting the other and trying to get the upper hand. I suspect that Israel thought the Iranians (correctly in hindsight) would try to sneak in some punches even after the deadline a bit just to show their people something. Israel then could and did retaliate by apparently using N+1 retaliation.

Part of which, congressional testimony yesterday indicated that US Navy stores of antimissiles were being used at a rate faster than resupply. I would imagine that Israel is probably close to the same problem.

Modern warfare (not police actions against terrorists) uses up sophisticated and slow to produce weapons at unsustainable rates which apparently require stoppages in order to resupply.

Building a lot for a rainy day may not work either as weapon technology is accelerating in counter measures rapidly blunting new weaponry. So a huge stockpile of obsolete missiles/drones, etc may not be the answer either.

I agree on the money, but to me the bigger problem is that it sets us up to be in the situation we're in now.

Where we are being maneuvered by the same ghouls in the deep state who maneuvered the Ukraine war in to existence. It's much, much harder for them to do that if we don't have American troops everywhere on the planet and if we're not using the CIA to overthrow governments all over the world and we're not using American dollars to prop up regimes / pay off warlords / train Jihadists / whatever the fuck else we're doing.

Treaty arrangement going back to the Camp David Accords. Israel gets about 3.5 billion or so while Egypt gets about 1.3 billion. For the most part, a lot of the Israeli and Egyptian aid is spent on US weaponry which is why Egypt has M-1 tanks and Israel F-16's and F-35's.

There are far worse sinkholes in the budget than the relatively modest amount of military aid given to both countries so as to not fight against each other. Bribing them has worked now for over 50 years.

The neocons in the Republican party moved over to the D side and were wholly repudiated by Trump. That's why Dick Cheney and his daughter endorsed and campaigned for Kamala, because she was "tough on Iran" and Trump was going to be "weak."

Practicing psychologists come from psych undergrad majors so a fair chunk of psychologists themselves have or had mental issues.

I personally think the confessional system employed by the RCC or pastoral counseling are a better framework for resolving issues. A lot of people with troubles simply need someone to talk to that will not betray their trust.

It's not the immigrants I'm concerned about. It's the hundreds of so-called single Iranian men of military age who waltzed across the open border over that last 4 years. It doesn't take a purported "sleeper-cell" or whatever one wants to call it to gin up chaos. Posted by: Harry Paratestes
===
I think part of the issue is that the US used to have two really big moats keeping us from trouble so any military issues were relatively brief such as the War against the Barbary Pirates, the War of 1812, etc.

With missiles and nukes, a bored or nutjob Kim Jong Il or some crazed mullah having delusions of a hidden 12th imam rising from a well have effectively erased those borders.

Uller Uprising, IMHO, is one of H. Beam Piper's best work along with his Paratime series.

Both involve a secret that is mainly just a bag of engineering tricks but give those of ill intent seeking power a means of attacking far bigger and more successful countries. Uller investigates what would have happened if the Sepoy rebellion took place with the rebels gaining the power of nukes. Paratime, the difficulty in keeping the Paratime secret of being able to travel between realities with to sometimes evil parallel societies.

99% of people you tell your troubles to will use it for their own advantage or to fuck you unless there's a legal restriction. Such people are hard to find. And as someone who's gone the pastoral counseling route with different individuals, I can tell you it was naive and ineffectual at best. Reciting a Bible verse, a couple Christian book store bumper sticker platitudes. and telling you to pray about it is pretty useless for things like major depression, OCD, ADHD, abuse trauma, infidelity, marital disintegration, drug addiction, etc.

The profession has entirely changed. Watch the videos by Leslie Elliott Boyce on YouTube ("The Radical Center"), which is on the seemingly boring tropic of "therapist training" -- she reveals that ALL therapists are now trained in extreme Critical Race Theory and Gender Politics, and they are compelled to turn their careers/practices into promoting extreme leftist ideology, brainwashing their clients to be filled with hate, resentment, victim-mentality, etc. (if they are minorities), and suicidal self-loathing (if they are white/straight). It's truly horrifying. The entire field of psychology has been infiltratrated, weaponized and destroyed.

Not a surprise that a profession that involves someone always holding life or death in their hands with the slightly touch right or wrong would start getting mental health issues from the constant state of stress.

Same for those that constantly hear the worst of the worst of mental health issues in others - a different form of mental stress with the same outcome (and they know how to diagnose themselves immediately)...

After another 12 hours, Israel was to cease. The intervening 12 hours was for Iran to demonstrate they were going to comply before Israel would be required to comply.
After another 12 hours of compliance from both sides, peace would be declared.

It looks like Iran was unable to refrain from aggression, which we all expected, but I don't know what time chunk this happened in.

As far as another war in Europe or the Middle East? I agree, those are, 9 out of 10 times, not worth fighting. Not a new idea, as it has been mentioned for decades. I had to laugh, however, at him going to the press. Which would set the Dims hair on fire.

I also read of the bleached blonde illegal bimbo, stopped in Colorado on a traffic citation. From Brazil as a 7yr old and no one bothered to become legal. She made a cool 28k with Go FUnd Me, then bleached her hair. Said food was awful for her detention. I say deport her entire stupid family who could not be bothered to become legal in 12yrs or so.

So should it be American foreign policy to institute regime changes in every regime across the world that has innocent blood on their hands? Because that sounds like quite the undertaking.

And what if we do a regime change, but like Afghanistan or Iraq, we end up replacing a government with innocent blood on their hands with another government with innocent blood on their hands? We just keep the wars going until we find someone we like? What if the people don't like that guy? Or does that not matter?

This seems like quite the path to endless wars. Which I'm sure many in DC and the MIC would love, but I don't think is in the best interest of, well, the rest of us.

Dad said that before I was born, there was a bar down on the edge of the state mental hospital where a lot of the workers and staff would hit after shift. He said there were some odd people there that were awfully entertaining. I suspect there was a lot of that sort of story telling. After Dad died I discovered that my bio-mom worked as clerical staff for the state hospital system at that time and that was probably where he met her.

I don't really see psychologists as doing much better to be honest. And psychiatrists prescribe pills as candy that do real damage to people.

Substance addiction is more of a medical problem combined often with psychological underpinnings along with certain medical conditions based on biological issues like OCD, autism, etc.

But, I have seen ill trained 'psychologists' actually make things worse as I had to deal with such for students with needs. One such psychologist used her own step kid as a research subject and another had documentation that they had fetal alcohol syndrome so were not responsible for violent outbursts with instructors. Turned out all of their 'violence' was directed at female instructors, not males which explicitly negates the entire fetal alcohol syndrome diagnosis. People with such do not distinguish between sexes as targets for their outbursts.

394 331 Regarding therapy in contemporary America:

PA has changed so much since C19; in that we've so many semi-transplanted from NYC and also NJ & DE.

Do you see it in your area? I see it in mine. And we can certainly in the NE part of the state. The streets are full of NY, NJ, DE licenses plates. (A few, but not most, are passing through on the roads.)

Loads of "affordable housing" has been purchased by those license plate holders and their extended families. They seem to go between their states of origin and PA, especially during elections, and also to "rent" many of those units from a day to months though they're neither AirBNB nor other rental source listed.

Many new owners/renters are clearly not the old time protestants, Jews, Roman Catholics, JWs, etc., nor are the lessees.

They can be. I am not arguing as far as universals that apply to everyone. Like religion, what works for you is good but the assumption that it works for everyone as a result is not.

In human affairs, we simply do not have certainty over why what might work for some, might not work for others. Why some people are susceptible to a malady while others are not. And whether talk therapy works or does not work.

We could try to answer some of these questions but that means the repugnant and cruel methods of operant conditioning for humans just like for animals. BF Skinner's work was replicable for example in a way that most human psychology studies fail to be. Reliance on bored freshman filling out surveys for extra credit in Psych 101 as a key insight on the human is flawed as was Kinsey using a sample filled with a convenience sample of perverts etc. to make generalizable comments about human sexuality.

So what works for a person should be continued but that does not mean that it can and should be extended to believe it works for everyone.

People ain't widgets.

I've certainly noticed a huge uptick in immigrants driving cars with PA plates, but I assumed that was due to a lack of vehicle inspection and/or no citizenship requirements to get a PA drivers license.

Or it's on par with the NJ temporary license plate scam.

I don't know, I've never cared enough to look in to it. North Carolina is another one. Lots of African immigrants have NC plates on their jalopies for some reason.

Looked that up, interesting backstory. About 40 or 50 years ago some promoter thought up the idea of building a huge airport for all of the supersonic passenger and cargo jets that he thought were going to be flying back and forth across the Atlantic and that would be too big for ordinary airports. He envisioned this as a hub for them to come and go and transfer from there to the rest of the country. With state support, he got one big runway built - and then the entire plan collapsed. I think either the state or county has been using that landing strip in the middle of nowhere for pilot training, but not much else. So it just sits there, waiting for someone to do something with it.

Once we were doing a roof for a Hungarian Actress and her husband (Chef/Restaurant Owner)...
humping shingles up the ladder one morning, I luckily glanced through the window to see the Mrs coming out of the shower. She waved.
On my way down, she opened the window and asked if we would like coffee. Still naked.

She was the only good thing about roofing.

China was already buying Iranian oil, but now the US is going to quit complaining about it.

It's always cold inside the icehouse

And she hopes he'll be there soon
But she's got so long to wait for him

I have never understood that song, I'm not sure its supposed to make sense. Sounds nice though

Not out of the norm in the Houston area but what really helped me when I play or work in 90+ degree days is a product called flexifreeze. It is a neck wrap that you put in a flexible frozen water strip. Lasts for about 20-30 minutes and you can just put in another one as needed. Of course you have to have your cooler where you keep the replacements.

I've been phasing out seed oils for a while now, and I don't love the smoke point of olive oil, so I've been using a lot of ghee and/or lard/ tallow the last few years.

I'd recommend it, it definitely does make everything taste better and a little bit goes a long way.

As far as crude oil, I only drink the sweet stuff -- Brent oil from the middle east.
Posted by: Harry Paratestes

I dropped cooking with most of the vegetable oils aka corn oil, soybean oil, and especially canola years ago.

Pretty much olive oil and avocado oil with peanut oil for baking things like brownies.

Ghee for high temps in certain things like frying a steak (rare for me) or lard for pie crusts (very rare for me to do nowadays--usually graham cracker or some such instead of the traditional piecrust.
