Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 6/ 23 /25![]() At least 20 Christians were killed and 52 others were wounded on Sunday when a radical Islamic terrorist opened fire in an Orthodox church in Damascus, Syria, and then detonated an explosive vest, according to Syria’s interior ministry. The terrorist, affiliated with ISIS, targeted Mar Elias Church in Dweila, on the outskirts of Damascus, the BBC reported. A person who witnessed the attack told AFP news agency that “someone entered carrying a weapon” and began firing at worshipers. A group of church members charged the attacker and “tried to stop him before he blew himself up,” the witness added. So, what does this have to do with Iran? Everything. That is, everything that matters. First of all, the term "radical Islamic terrorist" is a triple redundancy but kudos at least for using the word Islamic and not Islamist which is obfuscatory by design. Substitute waves of Hamas attackers raping and maiming their way into southern Israel from Gaza or an IRGC missile crew firing off a nuclear tipped V-2 clone or No-Dong Big Schlong missile at Tel Aviv, et VIOLA as we say. So, we may have destroyed Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities, whatever the geopolitical and domestic repercussions. The problem was is and always has been – for over 1500 years and counting – ISLAM, Unless and until Islam reforms itself (a non-starter) or is otherwise neutralized, Civilization will still be at risk of being destroyed at some point down the road. When the #1 baby name across most of Europe is Mohammed, nuclear weapons is the least of our worries. Iran, or Turdogon's Turkey or the Saudis do not need nukes with several hundred million "Tiny Time Pills" in the form of immigrants/migrants spread out all over Europe and here in America. While far too many of the indigenous non-Muslim citizenry are willfully committing cultural suicide courtesy of Leftist/Socialist cultural rot eating away at the foundations of 2,000 years of the advancement of humanity via Judeo-Christianity and Western Civilization. Lest we forget, Pakistan has nuclear weapons and shares a very long border with Iran so what's to stop them from helping the Mullahs reconstitute their nuke program or just give them one or two warheads. And as for Iran closing off the Straits of Hormuz, I imagine that would not include oil shipments to the Chi-Coms and/or NORKs, perhaps in exchange for a few small tactical warheads. What if Iran had a missile or even a boat with an Islamikaze crew and a warhead heading at ramming speed towards a US Aircraft carrier parked off Israel or in the Gulf. Remember the USS Cole incident post 9/11? So, now that the hornet's nest has been kicked, what's next? I think the IRGC is too vested both in Islam and conventional internal power politics to ever willingly cede power to any other party, certainly none that are not Islamic in nature and for sure not the scion of the late Shah or any pro-western moderate secular party. Even if Khameni and some or all of his associates are forced out, the Iranian people will still have a giant rusty scimitar at their throats. Wish I could be more upbeat about their prospects, and then again, I'm no expert and have no inside dope on the Iranian street, but all things being equal, unless they are armed to the teeth and/or have significant police and army personnel willing to help them seize power across the nation, get ready for Islamic Republic 2.0. Back here at home, and with everything going on, let's hope that this is a one-off and unrelated, but with years of a wide open border, this raises pulses. Police told Click on Detroit that a security guard at Wayne, Michigan’s CrossPointe Community Church shot and killed an alleged active shooter Sunday morning. The City of Wayne Police Department posted to Facebook, “The Wayne Police Department responded to an active shooter at Crosspointe Church in Wayne this morning. Upon arrival, officers determined that a security guard for the church shot and killed the suspect.”Maybe it was just a run-of-the-mill transexual psycho and not a harbinger of Hamas infiltrators, so let's not sow needless panic and Islamophobia! Gevalt... And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know. Have a great day!

So, now that the hornet's nest has been kicked, what's next?
From what I’ve read this morning the Israelis think they have good intelligence on where Iran is storing their stockpiles of enriched uranium. I would think that would be the first order of business in trying to settle this thing before that stuff gets put on top of a missile or taken out of the country and smuggled somewhere we don’t want it to be. I’ve always had that worry in the back of my mind on where the uranium went. Posted by: SpeakingOf at June 23, 2025 07:32 AM (6ydKt) 14

When you see the word "alleged" in a sentence, it translates precisely to "Democrat". When talking about Trump and MAGA "crimes", there is never the word "alleged" anywhere in the story - its always communicated as an absolute, undisputed, non nuanced fact. In a practical sense, the B-2 has only one mission profile that is unique to it: deliver the MOP. Biden issued new asylum rules in 2023, removing eligibility for people illegally entering the U.S. without seeking protection in transit countries. I'm reminded that this is the fiftieth anniversary of the premiere of Jaws. The future Mrs. Wolfus No. 1 and I went to see it. The lines were long and the theatre was packed; we had to sit in the *second row.* Imagine watching that film for the first time with the shark pretty much in your lap.
We had a coverlet on the bed with a big orange sunburst design . . . sharp triangular spikes. Half asleep that night, I caught a glimpse of one such spike and jerked awake, believing that it was a gigantic shark tooth. The same thing happened with Jurassic Park twenty years later. Remember the rumbling breathing of the raptors as they hunted? My cat Arizona liked to sleep on the pillow next to my head, and I jerked awake at his purr, thinking I was being hunted by dinosaurs. I think theRabbi here is basically correct.
The danger now, like with the BLM riots, etc is that Democrat politicians are clearly willing to let their constituents suffer and their cities burn, just to gain or maintain political power. This sets up a kind of Co-operation between terrorists who would kill American citizens or destroy American cities and those Democrat pols responsible for protecting their citizens. Live, healthy, happy citizens in Blue Cities are an impediment to Democrats power, so they must suffer for their sin of living in a nation with President Trump. Evil folks simply because you know this is their equation. I believe this seems “surprising” because the 20th century, and especially its technological progress, has given us a false idea about progress. We have this thought that all technology must advance forever; but in fact when a technological breakout happens, it advances quickly until it reaches the pinnacle of its expression, and then it plateaus until some new technological breakthrough happens. Read through that AI article in the tech thread and it occurs to me that the Tech sector employee base made a really poor choice in latching their fortunes to the left.
Trump's voters want him to clamp down on illegal immigration and...he is. The tech sector voters wanted fewer H1Bs and offshoring and the Biden junta gave them more of both. And I suspect while Trump will be better then the junta for them, only marginally so and it will not be a priority. The coming AI whatever it is will certainly take away a lot of tech sector jobs however successful it ultimately will be. And there will be no one from the government or the industry itself to stop it. Posted by: 18-1 at June 23, 2025 08:45 AM (t0Rmr) 212

--- I agree. Esp. the last line, 1000%. It's just another in a long line of lies and bullshit the left has used to advance their evil. I don't know how to articulate it succinctly, but for the how long has Iran promised retribution, attacks, death, destruction? And every step of the way, holding their threats of blood and pain proudly high as a banner, is the left, demanding the world, Israel, the US all bow down and accede and capitulate to their demands. Yesterday was a prime example: Iran threatens the shut the Strait of Hormuz. The left panics the world with horror stories of economic collapse. When the reality is 1) they can't, they don't have the resources, not even close 2) the whole world would turn against them, not just the US, 3) the US would crush their blockade in minutes and 4) most importantly, the blockade would cut off their own only source of revenue. Maybe. Or maybe the supreme leader is keeping tighter grip on the leash after Trump's attack. Trump did warn him directly that if there were any counterattacks he is sending more bombs and this time they won't be targeting nuclear sites because they are all gone. For the first time in nearly 5 decades the mullahs have to start worrying about losing their grip. Israel has now been so successful in their campaign that they’re focusing on targets of opportunity, such as IRGC bases, secret police bases, and prisons. After this it will be up to the Iranian people, and it may take time. The Argentine Junta that started the Falklands War fell after it lost the war, but it took nearly a year. Trump is correct to say that we are eliminating Iran’s threat, but we are not forcing regime change. That part is up to the Iranians.

Posted by: tubal at June 23, 2025 08:32 AM (PCK5/) The problem with The Americans is that its central plot point is completely implausible. Multiple former Soviet citizens have talked about how astonished they were by US supermarkets and that their existence was a dead giveaway about who was right in the Cold War. The Soviets had to have minders to keep people from defecting on any organized group trips to the US. The idea that ideologically committed Soviets were going to live and work here for years on end and keep playing for the away team is ridiculous on its face. I’m a lot less sanguine about the bombing than most. Unfortunately I’ve seen this movie before. Up front, I think we had very few choices, and it’s more people’s expectations that concern me. It’s almost always the same. Euphoria over the mission and “achieving” the objectives. Therein lies the rub. We get the rosy BDA with analysts telling us we’ve done extensive damage. Then they slowly back off, which is what is happening now with whispers about whether the nuclear material may have been moved. Spoiler: they have no idea. In the end this mission was about buying time. Stop and ask yourself- for what? Then once you figure that out ask yourself, how and at what cost are you willing to achieve the necessary goals?
In the end this is about a sovereign ruled by Islamic religious fanatics who see a nuclear bomb as a way to achieve their twisted, evil theological goals. They intend to use it. Period. Worst part, there are other nations for whom Iran is a proxy, and who want to see those evil aspirations achieved. Posted by: Marcus T at June 23, 2025 09:07 AM (ibxva) 288

3 things that happened just this week that tell us Dems are insane:
1. John Brennan: “Allow Iranians to have some type of enrichment capability.” He says he’s just trying to think creatively. 2. Texas Democrats took to the Texas House floor to argue for state legislation that says that if you go on vacation and squatters take up residence in your home, they should be allowed to stay. 3. Democrats’ reaction to the Supreme Court’s ruling on transgender kids: Democrats said not allowing them mutilate their sex parts would cause “permanent, irreparable harm” — which, of course, is the opposite of true. Posted by: WitchDoktor at June 23, 2025 09:14 AM (levDv) Trump has more of a Brooks Brothers look, a suit that comfortably drapes. It works with larger men. My Dad was tall and slender (like Dick Van Dyke) and had bespoke suits from Morty Sills in New York. Not tight fitting like the ridiculous monkey suits men are wearing now but nicely conformed to thinner frame. My first suits, bought for me, were Brooks and I couldn't wait to buy my own Italian styled ones. Posted by: Ordinary Amerian at June 23, 2025 09:26 AM (x2CMu) 371
