The Morning Report — 6/ 23 /25

Good morning kids. Well, what's done is done, and now come the repercussions and ramifications both geopolitically and domestically. Since Israel decided to strike at the head of the snake in the wake of the October 7th attacks from Iran's proxy army Hamas in Gaza, the potential for direct American involvement against Iran was always a possibility. Even being a big Trump supporter, Jew and Israel booster, I was never sanguine about the prospect, even with Donald Trump as commander-in-chief, mostly because of our prior disasters and debacles by getting involved militarily in the Middle East, regardless of who was in the Oval Office. All that said, the hopefully complete or near complete destruction of Iran's nuclear weapons program, regardless of who did it, can only be viewed as a gigantic positive in terms of pulling the region and indeed the world back from the brink of armageddon, at least in the near term.

That said, I'm reminded of Craig T. Nelson's line from "Poltergeist" :

"You moved the headstones — but you left the bodies?!"

At least 20 Christians were killed and 52 others were wounded on Sunday when a radical Islamic terrorist opened fire in an Orthodox church in Damascus, Syria, and then detonated an explosive vest, according to Syria’s interior ministry.
The terrorist, affiliated with ISIS, targeted Mar Elias Church in Dweila, on the outskirts of Damascus, the BBC reported. A person who witnessed the attack told AFP news agency that “someone entered carrying a weapon” and began firing at worshipers. A group of church members charged the attacker and “tried to stop him before he blew himself up,” the witness added.

So, what does this have to do with Iran? Everything. That is, everything that matters. First of all, the term "radical Islamic terrorist" is a triple redundancy but kudos at least for using the word Islamic and not Islamist which is obfuscatory by design. Substitute waves of Hamas attackers raping and maiming their way into southern Israel from Gaza or an IRGC missile crew firing off a nuclear tipped V-2 clone or No-Dong Big Schlong missile at Tel Aviv, et VIOLA as we say.

So, we may have destroyed Iran’s nuclear weapons capabilities, whatever the geopolitical and domestic repercussions. The problem was is and always has been – for over 1500 years and counting – ISLAM, Unless and until Islam reforms itself (a non-starter) or is otherwise neutralized, Civilization will still be at risk of being destroyed at some point down the road. When the #1 baby name across most of Europe is Mohammed, nuclear weapons is the least of our worries. Iran, or Turdogon's Turkey or the Saudis do not need nukes with several hundred million "Tiny Time Pills" in the form of immigrants/migrants spread out all over Europe and here in America. While far too many of the indigenous non-Muslim citizenry are willfully committing cultural suicide courtesy of Leftist/Socialist cultural rot eating away at the foundations of 2,000 years of the advancement of humanity via Judeo-Christianity and Western Civilization.

Lest we forget, Pakistan has nuclear weapons and shares a very long border with Iran so what's to stop them from helping the Mullahs reconstitute their nuke program or just give them one or two warheads. And as for Iran closing off the Straits of Hormuz, I imagine that would not include oil shipments to the Chi-Coms and/or NORKs, perhaps in exchange for a few small tactical warheads. What if Iran had a missile or even a boat with an Islamikaze crew and a warhead heading at ramming speed towards a US Aircraft carrier parked off Israel or in the Gulf. Remember the USS Cole incident post 9/11?

So, now that the hornet's nest has been kicked, what's next? I think the IRGC is too vested both in Islam and conventional internal power politics to ever willingly cede power to any other party, certainly none that are not Islamic in nature and for sure not the scion of the late Shah or any pro-western moderate secular party.

Even if Khameni and some or all of his associates are forced out, the Iranian people will still have a giant rusty scimitar at their throats. Wish I could be more upbeat about their prospects, and then again, I'm no expert and have no inside dope on the Iranian street, but all things being equal, unless they are armed to the teeth and/or have significant police and army personnel willing to help them seize power across the nation, get ready for Islamic Republic 2.0.

Back here at home, and with everything going on, let's hope that this is a one-off and unrelated, but with years of a wide open border, this raises pulses.

The City of Wayne Police Department posted to Facebook, “The Wayne Police Department responded to an active shooter at Crosspointe Church in Wayne this morning. Upon arrival, officers determined that a security guard for the church shot and killed the suspect.”

Maybe it was just a run-of-the-mill transexual psycho and not a harbinger of Hamas infiltrators, so let's not sow needless panic and Islamophobia! Gevalt...

From what I’ve read this morning the Israelis think they have good intelligence on where Iran is storing their stockpiles of enriched uranium.

I would think that would be the first order of business in trying to settle this thing before that stuff gets put on top of a missile or taken out of the country and smuggled somewhere we don’t want it to be.

I’ve always had that worry in the back of my mind on where the uranium went.

I'm no expert but I believe that isn't the case. WW1 armaments were our principal weapons inventory as WW2 broke out. My grandfather was actually in a horse cavalry unit ninety or so years ago, which is sort of laughable when one considers what Germany was beginning yo unleash on Europe.

Lets not forget, too, the B52's that are still sn important system, sixty five years after introduction.

The problem with The Americans is that its central plot point is completely implausible. Multiple former Soviet citizens have talked about how astonished they were by US supermarkets and that their existence was a dead giveaway about who was right in the Cold War. The Soviets had to have minders to keep people from defecting on any organized group trips to the US. The idea that ideologically committed Soviets were going to live and work here for years on end and keep playing for the away team is ridiculous on its face. GenAI is being used as an excuse to RIF an perceived over hiring of developers.

Thing is, it makes easy jobs easier and hard jobs impossible. People see the easy things though and expect it to make the hard things easier too.

I'm thinking of vibe coding but it seems applicable elsewhere too.

In the end this is about a sovereign ruled by Islamic religious fanatics who see a nuclear bomb as a way to achieve their twisted, evil theological goals. They intend to use it. Period. Worst part, there are other nations for whom Iran is a proxy, and who want to see those evil aspirations achieved.

They could have replaced the damaged section with a new truss by now. All of the elevated approach sections are still intact.
Then work on a whole new bigger better thing. A taller bridge will require new elevated approach sections. This is a nice-to-have, not a necessity.

Trump has more of a Brooks Brothers look, a suit that comfortably drapes. It works with larger men. My Dad was tall and slender (like Dick Van Dyke) and had bespoke suits from Morty Sills in New York. Not tight fitting like the ridiculous monkey suits men are wearing now but nicely conformed to thinner frame. My first suits, bought for me, were Brooks and I couldn't wait to buy my own Italian styled ones.

Only a fool would believe Iran hasn't moved material, and despite what you may think, it's hard to believe Israeli intelligence would be foolish. There may be arguments about this particular photo and what it shows (that's the nature of sat photo analysis), and there may even be arguments about the gist of the Free Press article, but there is no argument about their basic conclusion, which is there is still work to be done and Israel is the right power to do it.
