The problem there is that Type I Diabetes is genetic. (Hollywood has often made use of kids born with Type I because they tend to be short and can play much younger children while being able to understand more demanding dialogue.) Until you can edit it out, using the patient's own stem cells isn't going to work very well. Much work is being done to overcome rejection, such as making a custom virus that makes the tissue to be implanted look native to the immune system. In the case of pancreatic tissue, there has been research into keeping the tissue in some form of isolation that allows it to perform its function but is kept hidden from immune response. The intercepted and decrypted Japanese message traffic before and during WWII make it seem the Japanese command truly thought they had a significant number of agents ready to perform sabotage in place on US soil. The fact that we had been reading their mail was kept classified until the late 70s, when small computers affordable for individuals made the WWII era encryption a moot point. This was long after the US government had gone into apology overdrive for the internments, despite knowing that many agents of Japan were likely included and kept their status secret for the rest of their lives. It seems to me that how the Iranian regime handles domestic repression at this time will be instructive to how well the government is functioning. If they do nothing, even if there is active resistance seems to indicate they are on the verge collapse. If they amp up repression and control, it seems to indicate that they are in for the long haul no matter what happens and will refuse to give up power without a lot of bloodshed.

The problem at my place is that they have stuffed the ranks with a lot of 30 YO senior project engineer/principle engineers DEIs and can't offer anyone new a decent salary let alone the lower ranked people who actually perform. It used to be you need 15-20 years in-grade and had to be good in order to get to that level. Plus all the capable people are looking elsewhere because there is no upward mobility as a result. There's a giant plug of useless, shiny new, upper-level engineers that have immobilized things. So management decides to go after the people that are easiest to get rid of. Russia says that it “strongly condemned” the United States’s bombings of nuclear sites in Iran, calling the attacks “irresponsible” and a “gross violation of international law.”
“It is already clear that a dangerous escalation has begun, fraught with further undermining of regional and global security,” the Russian foreign ministry adds in a statement. You might have a leg to stand on, Vlad, if you hadn’t committed a gross violation of international law in February of 2022. It sucks that you can’t complain about other nations defending their own national security just like you claimed you could do against Ukraine & NATO encroachment. We warned the Iranians for two decades not to build nukes, just like you warned NATO for twenty years not to expand further eastwards. Sorry Putin, what’s good for the bear is also good for eagle. I didn't know the nuclear weapon community agreed upon universal interface, mounting, deployment, and maintenance standards. Delivery gets interesting. Someone should ask Dmitry if Putin's ready to part with a couple of his own nukes. I seriously doubt any country would "give" Iran one of their own nuclear weapons.
The consequences would be... I think, severe. But as others have pointed out, he underscored the fact that Iran wants nuclear weapons. Everyone knows that. What seems to go over their heads is that Iran would immediately use them. Posted by: Martini Farmer at June 22, 2025 08:45 AM (Q4IgG) 381

I think it's a given, because of Iran's Islamic and Middle East culture being all honor and revenge oriented, that they'll try some form of revenger the bombing. Probably, something on the order of the bombing attack on the night club in Germany years ago. It's stupid because Trump's already warned them that there are plenty of targets still in Iran. Also, I believe this is the reason he's stopped the Israelis from taking out the Ayatollah and his son. If Ian wants to keep playing this game, well, that chip just went on the table. So, we'll see if they're smart or just have to get all revengey and shake their little islamic fists and wind up hurting themselves. Posted by: naturalfake at June 22, 2025 08:52 AM (iJfKG) 387
