Forty two years ago, the cartoon animation video game Dragon's Lair hit the arcades.
Gamers today decry games that are full of cutscenes. Dragon's Lair, and Space Ace, (were there other laserdisc games?) were video games that were 100% cutscenes. It was like playing Zork, but with a timer and a joystick, and a cutscene after every "north" or "west" or "sword". Posted by: mikeski at June 19, 2025 07:42 PM (DgGvY) 18
As I recall, Dragons Lair used an ancient technology called a "video disc".

Dragon’s Lair was released on LaserDisc in 1983. Interestingly, certain features of the game lead to early “burn-out” of the LaserDisc players of the day: it featured multiple disc seeks far beyond the expected use for a movie, also it had a metal back to give it extra stability, but this lead to spindle motor burn-out since it was so massive.

If the FBI did not support Antifa, quite simply Antifa would not exist. They are right there, highly visible, doing illegal things on camera, repeatedly, all over the country, and the FBI doesn’t lift a finger to stop them. Why? The only thing that makes sense is that the FBI wants this activity to take place. If they did not want it to take place, they would stop it and arrest the lawbreakers who are attacking federal buildings and officers. This is not complicated. The FBI supports Antifa. Posted by: Black Orchid at June 19, 2025 09:38 PM (Pv3Rg) You know how websites send you SMS security codes** and you have to then type those into a website prompt for 2fa? If that process takes me longer than about 3 seconds I'll forget the code and have to look at it again. The best way is to sit the phone in front of me and type it out. But if I'm using the phone to type it in I'm in trouble. If it's more than six numbers there's no way. That's how bad my memory is. Not due to age, I've always had this problem. Whatever short-term memory is in the brain, mine is broke. **I wish websites wouldn't do this because SMS/text messaging/phone sims are generally hackable and so that type of 2-factor isn't really secure. I missed all the war threads today, but do people really equate US troops setting up lines in the desert with flying a-way overhead and dropping one MOP? I keep hearing this "Tromp said he'd keep us out of war!!!" but one bomb isn't exactly Sending Our Boys To Die in a horrible foreign land.
