43 In other news:

Barack and Michelle Obama may have one of the most famous political marriages of the modern era, thriving through two terms of the White House and over 30 years together. The pair met in 1989 at a Chicago law firm, and it was love at first sight—for Barack. Michelle, then known as Michelle Robinson, took a little convincing to go on that first date, but she had no hesitation when he asked her to marry him in 1992.

In the last eight years since Barack Obama ended his two terms as President of the United States, both he and Michelle have remained politically engaged, traveled the world, released books, produced films and podcasts, and stayed on as cultural influencers in almost every corner of the U.S. and many abroad. And they’re still going strong, celebrating their long love story every year it grows.

I am most definitively not taking a side on this.

I am saying whether he is a hero or a monster depends on the larger picture, which none of us will ever know.

It's a cute moment, but those can be deceiving. I have known many wonderful, outwardly perfect families that subsequently disintegrated into recrimination once the lies were exposed.

So, if you like it, fine. In that situation, I would have discretely removed my daughter so as to minimally disrupt the show.

But I also would have asked myself why she was not up to the task. I have three adult daughters, in case anyone cares.

All are competent shooters, btw.

143 I called it earlier this week when I said Walz put him up yo it.

Hodgetwins:

BREAKING: Minnesota Shooter BLAMES Governor Walz in Confession Letter

Vance Boelter—the politically motivated suspect in the Minnesota Capitol shooting—allegedly left a handwritten confession letter, addressed to FBI Director Kash Patel, blaming Gov. Tim Walz for his rampage.

Boelter, 57, reportedly killed former House Speaker Melissa Hortman and her husband, and wounded Sen. John Hoffman and his wife during early-morning attacks on June 14. The shocking note claims Walz is responsible for “creating the environment” that led Boelter to violence.

This isn’t just horrific—it’s a full-on indictment of Democratic leadership:

A confessed killer pointing fingers at Minnesota’s Governor.
An attack targeted at Democrats by someone holding them accountable.
A confession sent straight to a former Trump official, showing clear political motive.

Enough with the excuses. Radical rhetoric has real consequences—especially from the Left, whose poisoned political atmosphere may have pushed someone like Boelter over the edge.

Let that sink in next time Democrats lecture us about “civility” and “unity.”

149 I still listen to Springsteen, now and then. Nostalgia is quite the pull. I have quite a few of his CDs still. Up to those mediocre solo CDs he put out in the early 90s. Stopped paying much attention to him after that. He's just ridiculous now. Probably was then (shrugs).

I like his earlier stuff, it just became difficult to be a fan or even listen to his music the dumber and louder he got with his dumb. Its like U2, i was a big fan, even while I found Bono an annoying and pretentious twerp but now they are so annoying I am not sure I even want to listen to their earlier albums any more. Stuff like Boy and October are so much more honest and real than crap like Zooropa. And even that makes me feel kind of cringy now.

I expect politicians to lie about other politicians.

Lying about being deployed is a moral sin. It is an express ticket to hell. Same with lying about your rank.

What compounds the evil is the stupidity. Do you think no one will look it up? Are you that spectacularly stupid?

This is weapons-grade self-destructive dishonesty. Once you cross that line, nothing they say can be trusted.

Back when Jimmuh picked Walter Mondale as his running mate and they won the '76 election, the then Governor of Minnesota, Wendell Anderson, arranged with his Lieutenant Governor, Rudy Perpich, to resign and then Rudy would appoint "Wendy" to the vacant Senate seat.

Minnesota voters were PISSED and they voted out Wendy, Rudy, and a substantial part of DFL officeholders in 1978. It took the "For Paul!" Wellstone memorial service some years later to push the Wendy comeuppance into the background.

A big Nebraska meat packer lost lots of workers after an ICE raid. Guess what happened next.

Remember this story out of Omaha where the feds used E-verify to track down more than 100 illegal aliens using fake IDs? And that those illegals allegedly pulled box cutters on ICE agents?

We were told this city would be in turmoil. The plant wouldn't know what to do without their illegal workforce. There would be no recovery from this.

Every seat in the waiting area of Glenn Valley Foods was occupied with people filling out job applications early Thursday afternoon, two days after the meatpacking plant became the center of the largest worksite immigration raid in the state."

The Democrat-Media Complex is the cast of a never-ending weekly soap opera. Every week there is a new episode. Characters are are periodically killed-off or move away unexpectedly (lose elections, can't hide their decrepitude, fired by CNN, etc.). New characters are periodically added as needed to keep viewers interested. Jasmine Crockett, for example, was added as a regular six or seven months ago. It is all disgusting.
