It's a Black Woman Speaking Now (TM), so I want all you jamokes to keep your racist mouths SHUT and your ears WIDE OPEN to hear HER TRUTH (TM). Democrats always say that they totally like and respect retired or dead Republicans. The current ones, not so much. By the way, if you don't know about Black Woman Speaking Now (TM), there's a really racist trend of black women insisting they have a special right to be heard above all others based on their race and sex. Michelle Obama claimed, WITHOUT EVIDENCE, that black women just weren't complaining enough. I think this has its basis in the "Progressive Stack" on college campuses, with "marginalized" voices promoted and dominating. Old gnarled-lesbian AWFLs are in the streets singing, "Trust Black Women, Black Women Lead the Way." This is pretty fucked-up Race Cult of a movement if you think about it for two seconds. It turns out, his claim was true. ICE wasn't aware during his arrest, but in the last days of the Biden admin, in December 2024, Guevara had been granted what's known as "DCAT", or Deferred Removal under the Convention Against Torture, meaning he can't be deported to his home country because he fears he will be tortured there.

The "Black Woman Speaking Now" trend is funny. There are a couple recent things relating to this I have seen.
1. A video of a woman who just got a $310 facial (!!) and was buying a lot of retail product at some frou frou facial monger explaining to the sales clerk that she has to come up with a way to make it cost $180 because that was all the money she had. The struggle is real. 2. Posters in the London Underground showing black women and the tag line "we built this city." Huh? The Left has convinced the stupidest among them that there is some alternate history that has been suppressed, and that blacks really did build everything and whitey stole it. It is hard to believe, but like the people on the Gaza thread -- the Left is so deep into the bubble they are irredeemable. I fear what would be required to educate these people. I'm keeping the Swedes on the back burner and might even take a stab at the present day slavery taking place in The Sudan. Last year on June 19th an angry black woman tried to back into me in the parking lot of great wolf lodge where I was waiting for our vehicle (it was hot, and I was tired so I waited). The lot was pretty dead and plenty of spaces around. I had to jump back as she backed into me. Caught me off guard. I pounded on their back window. She wasn’t sorry at all nor were her 3 teenage girls. She wanted that close parking spot.
“You fine. You moved.” That’s how I remember will always remember that special day. And no one was there to catch it. It didn't make any headlines. I’m sure there are plenty of other examples of this happening. I was raised to treat others equally no matter what and I feel like my generation was pretty accepting of others. So what gives? Posted by: Methos Another thing. You don't drop just one. If you have to drop them, you drop a rack of five or 10. They space out like conventional bombs dropped out of a belly of a bomber. Mass vaccinations were discussed, (cough) as was a long discussion on the possibility of a dirty bomb being set off in a city. One of the presenters was former CIA, I think. Tlingit Indians were the last slaveholders to have their slaves freed by the US Federal government in October of 1867 (take that Juneteenthers!). Also potlatch society often killed slaves as sacrifices for funerals of important tribal members. There were documented cases of slavery in the District of Alaska as late as 1903, according to Wikipedia.

Posted by: fd at June 19, 2025 06:52 PM (vFG9F) Unless the contest is to have an egg survive the drop in the shortest time. That's how they run it at my college engineering school. WE dropped from over 80 feet, from the top of the upper deck of the football stadium to the parking lot. My design failed because I hadn't learned yet about center of mass and center of pressure of a body. The winner in my freshman class copied the successful design of his brother who had graduated a few years earlier. Who copied the design of a friend a year ahead of him. That legacy probably went back 30 or more years. The design was a foam-tipped mortar-shell replica made of plastic sheet and bals wood. The egg was supported by stretched rubber bands in a cavity in that finned 'mortar shell,' with space to move several inches downward at impact. Several other designs worked but took much longer to hit the parking lot. Posted by: Gref at June 19, 2025 07:09 PM (aBgBM) 226

If you haven't done so already, go read Hillbilly Elegy. I just finished it today. It is quite a story. He truly came from adverse circumstances that would've left so many others in a cycle of hopelessness. He very much impressed me with his perseverance, as well as his deep loyalty to his family, especially to his sister and his -- very colorful grandparents, whom he credits with saving him. Too bad they didn't live long enough to see him become Vice President.

Posted by: fd at June 19, 2025 06:52 PM (vFG9F) Unless the contest is to have an egg survive the drop in the shortest time. That's how they run it at my college engineering school. Posted by: Gref at June 19, 2025 07:09 PM (aBgBM) There was a fastest time tie breaker and a size limit of the construction fully deployed. No parachutes without some cleverness. You had to demonstrate the egg survival at each level so the duct tape was out, because you could only do minor resetting between drops. Yeah the flexing cage with rubberband type thing was a popular design start. Repeating damage often brought them to grief, plus the dorm hi rise had steps that were often hit on dropping. We called one grandmother “Bunny”. Her name was Berenice. I think “Bunny” was close enough, and she didn’t mind!

The more I have thought about it the more I come to believe the slave owners were the genesis of 75% of the problems in the USA.
About 90% of the benefit of slavery went to only several dozen families in the South. They did not care one whit about future generations of Americans but only their own avarice. Posted by: MAGA_Ken at June 19, 2025 07:42 PM (tn3dm) 320

Posted by: Boss Moss at June 19, 2025 07:32 PM (0e/QT) There is a story in "The Scramble For Africa" of some Zanzibar Slave Trader who upon hearing one of his canoe boats full of female slaves had sunk or whatever and the slaves all died remarked..."Is the boat ok?" Zanzibar was big time slave empire. Posted by: Chinese Gordon at June 19, 2025 07:46 PM (R/m4+) 321

Posted by: MAGA_Ken at June 19, 2025 07:37 PM (tn3dm) I think that distinction is a wishcast from the future rather than real in the period. The Constitution speaks of "the United States", Virginians and New England state residents had no issue becoming Ohioans or Kentuckians once new states were made. The Articles of Confederation had failed so spectacularly that people had little opposition to the new government that hadn't actually been asked for popped out of the convention. The fact that European nations could chop out an individual state was a known danger for a long time in the early days of the country. Posted by: Oldcat at June 19, 2025 07:46 PM (8avO+) 322

Josh Shapiro aside (and he has no chance of winning the nomination anyway) that is an abysmal group of party frontrunners.
Harris lost. And she only won the nomination the first time because there was no primary to compete in. Shoeonhead nailed it in her description of Walz - he really is the world’s first white male DEI hire. Gavin Newsom makes Giant Douche look like a real cool dude to hang out and have a beer with. Plus he is a complete clusterfuck of a governor. Buttigeg is possibly the single most incompetent cabinet secretary of the last 20 years. And Cortez? The raging woke Marxist and slathering fan of Nazi sympathizer Evita Peron? Where do I even begin? What a lineup. The GOP would have to royally fuck things up for any one of those assclowns to have the most remote of chances of winning. Which is less of a comforting thought than it should be.
