Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Three Iranian Planes Fly to Oman as Israel Reportedly Begins Attacking the Ayatollah's BunkersIran just threatened "a surprise that will be remembered for centuries." Then they released a video strongly hinting they were about to attack the US or Israel with a nuke. But now the The Bee can exclusively report on what this "surprise" is: ![]() Nick SortorTrump himself does not seem interested in a deal. First he said to reporters, "I'm in no mood to negotiate." Then, later, he posted on Truth Social: UNCONDITIONAL SURRENDER! I really do not know why people who identify as on the right are on such a jihad to save the Ayatollah. They have completely reversed their previous support for military intervention. They haven't just adjusted it. They've fully embraced the Code Pink/Blame America First position, without ever even bother to explain why they've made this dramatic complete reversal of all their past beliefs. It's like this group just radicalized each other on X, all based on emotion and groupthink, so no one is able to say why this change in fundamental beliefs occurred. They just suddenly adopt this extremist left-wing position and then act like you're the weird one for not having joined them in this inexplicable journey to the Blame America First side. Do they likewise believe that Obama did right in knocking down the Iranian uprising and pledging fealty to the Ayatollah?

I dont have twitter and cant speak for anyone else but I can tell you why I changed my position. I came to age during 911 and the wars that followed. I remember cheering for the bombing of Iraq while watching the attacks live on TV in high school. I had several classmates and friends join the military and ship off. A few died. I even considered joining at one point but ended up changing my mind. I truly bought in to everything. Over time I realized nothing I was told about the reasons for the iraq war was true. I read books like the devils chessboard. I intensely read everything I could get my hands on about the shadow government and our various wars. I felt like an absolute idiot for buying the bullshit. I was very disillusioned with politics and didnt vote for McCain or Romney (or anyone. I didnt vote at all.) although I continued commenting here. Then Trump came along and said the wars in the Middle East were stupid and a horrible idea. That endless war only enriched the deep state. I voted for him. So to see the same shit continuing to happen is disheartening to say the least. Posted by: Harry Paratestes at June 18, 2025 02:54 PM (zuAlv) 55

I shall accept that they are unaware that Iran declared war on the US in 1979 and have never rescinded that. I shall accept that they believe eternal muslim terrorism is just how the universe works. He claims that three planes is excessive for just a negotiating team, and suspects the planes are carrying the Ayatollah, his son and successor, and other family and government officials. He premises this on the claim that Israel has been attacking Khameini's hidey-hole bunkers and the Ayatollah knows it's just a matter of time before they hit the one he's in.
- Except that the Israelis have aerial supremacy (which I'm sure will be denounced sooner or later) over Iran, and they *didn't* shoot those planes down. That suggests diplomats. British English Sucks. Posted by: Thomas Bender I watch a lot of old British TV shows--currently on the Bulman trilogy. The funny thing is that you can find a talk show episode with Michael Cain and Sean Connery on as guests (think it was Johnny Carson IIRC). They mentioned breaking down the doors in movies and the BBC in normalizing other accents than the posh Oxbridge newsreader that previously held sway in infotainment. So, in the 70's and since, there is a distinct shift in renormalizing the various subregional accents in UK English. Dick Van Dyke recently recounted the horrors of his Mary Poppins Cockney accent and blamed it on his Irish language coach who simply did not know it. I prefer Welsh or Geordie accents myself. Musical. Posted by: whig at June 18, 2025 02:57 PM (ctrM5) 79

I haven't seen any of the pro-regime-change people make any kind of coherent argument as to why this particular proxy war is any different from the one we all hated for the several years against Russia. Nor do I understand why there can't be any daylight between our foreign policy (and its implementation) and that of Israel's. I haven't seen any real strategy of what's we're going to do once the Ayatollah is dead or imprisoned or whatever. No one has made any kind of assertive argument in favor of our involvement in this military action other than "nukes".

Listening to Trump, it doesn't seem like direct, kinetic involvement in the conflict for the US is even on the table as long as American resources aren't attacked.
So, the real world discussion is mostly around Israel attacking Iran with American help through our favorable weapons contracts (which have existed forever and got bumped up after 10/7 under Biden) and sharing of intel (including, presumably, extra flyovers of the region to develop and provide it). It's a completely different War. As different in Geo-Location as it is in execution. This is an Aerial Bombardment with no Land exchanging hands and no ground forces battling over frontlines. There will be no occupation. I will be amazed if there is even a Prisoner Exchange after the hostilities die down. Comparing the two is pretty ridiculous. As ridiculous as comparing this to Iraq. Posted by: Harry Paratestes at June 18, 2025 02:54 PM (zuAlv) If he was threatening to get into some long sustained conflict, I would agree. But he's talking about ending it once and for all - and once the Iranian Regime falls, the entire middle east calms down for the next 20 or 30 years. They've been financing all of it. And this war truly is just about over. There's good cause to believe that Iran does not have a single operational warplane left, and the IDF has now been blowing up every attack helicopter they can spot. All of their anti air installations are gone, and anytime they turn on a radar unit, it's vaporized in about 60 seconds. They got nothing left to fight with. The missile attacks that Iran is launching are coming just a couple at a time now, with no coordination, which implies that all internal military communication has now broken down. (Understand that I do not follow any of the anti-war right, so I am just guessing or assuming here,) It makes a lot of sense to be hesitant to topple another M. E. hell hole out of fear that it might become even worse. Even in the best case the US ends up paying billions and billions to "rebuild" (hell, we are even paying the f---ing Taliban to rebuild that goat brothel.) and in worst case we end up with worser radicals running the place of fighting over the goats. (Iraq) In the really worst cast we end up importing the scum into our own fair cities (Somalians) or into Europe. There is talk about what comes next for Iran. There is no easy answer and I hesitate at any answer that does not involve decontamination of the rubble and backfilling the crater. I haven't seen any of the pro-regime-change people make any kind of coherent argument as to why this particular proxy war is any different from the one we all hated for the several years against Russia.
Then you must be deliberately ignoring the many posts which have pointed out that Iran declared war on the US in 1979. Mostly, we've just ignored it because they only blow up American service personnel stationed in the ME but possession of a nuclear weapon ups the stakes. Is that sufficiently clear? sort of but I saw a general (Keane, I think) say that Israel has taken down Iran's defenses and is destroying their mobile missile carriers, BUT it will take *weeks* of bombing to damage their nuke facilities. Some, like at Fodrow, they won't even be able to destroy unless they send in commandos to carry in "cratering" bombs and plant them on the walls. It goes back 80 years, everyone who thinks air power alone can win a war...tends to be wrong.
Depends on what your goal is. What to conquer territory? You need forces on the ground. Want to kill your enemies and break their things to the point they find better things to do then bother you? Air strikes are fine. But you do have to inflict enough pain with them. Step 2: Then destroy the civilian infrastructure in the areas that support the Mullahs. Whether or not their is a current resistance you'll soon enough get someone representing enough of the country to replace the Mullahs and negotiate with. But the key is you have to make step 2 HURT. I'm not going to presume on divining their reasoning. I shall accept them at their word that it's just because they've decided that they're adamantly opposed to US involvement in any war. I shall accept that they are unaware that Iran declared war on the US in 1979 and have never rescinded that. I shall accept that they believe eternal muslim terrorism is just how the universe works. I shall accept everything they've said without wondering if there might be another motive. I do note that some (many) of them were all-in on US involvement in Ukraine. Despite Russia not being a declared enemy. Despite Ukraine not being a declared ally. Despite zero US interest involved. No doubt there's some esoteric aspect that has just escaped me. ------------ I just got here, so the above is probably the best post in this thread. Posted by: Oldcat The Romans obsession with Persia partially led to the fall of the West. And also in part with the rise of Islam in Persia and the rest of the world. America is just not a country interested in the necessary things to colonize other countries. I thought it would have been an option to have NCOs or the like be given territory to run however they wanted to in Iraq, including setting up mining or other operations to fund the occupation. But there is no energy or desire by Americans to undertake such a thing. The legacy media was able to spin abu ghraib into some kind of evil cataclysm and it did affect the whole affair. The things necessary to effect a true remapping of a country would make that sound like an ice cream social. Posted by: weft cut-loop at June 18, 2025 03:33 PM (mlg/3) 347

That’s an increase of 133.8 kilograms (294.9 pounds) — or almost 50% — since the IAEA’s last report in February. The 60% enriched material is a short, technical step away from weapons-grade levels of 90%. A report in February put this stockpile level at 274.8 kilograms (605.8 pounds). The crazies in Iran trying to get nukes (with constant support of terrorism to get little Satan then Big Satan) might give us more reason to give more support in this case, but we need regional support against China as well. Has it ever occurred to you that the right has not become anti-war but rather anti-the-way-we-fight-war? Some of us have had it with watching our troops get sent into one war zone after another with no clear objective. Want to topple the ayatollah? Great! What then? Everybody goes home and we get peace in the Middle East? You know what else we are sick of? Being lied to. Is Iran days away from getting the bomb? Maybe they are, but we’ve been hearing rumblings about that for about 30 years. Why should we believe it now? What most of us want is to live in a country that is very reluctant to go to war, but if we do, there should be generations of people in that country who curse their former leaders who were dumb enough to provoke us to the point where we attacked. Even after hundreds of years, not a day should go by when their citizens are not hanging their heads, wishing their leaders had not provoked us. What if a bunker-buster wacked Fordow followed up with a dirty bomb where the fallout signature of the semi-enriched uranium doesn't have a recognized signature. It would effectively shut off that site for generations. Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at June 18, 2025 03:37 PM (KhyP1) 370

Democrats left a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on Wednesday after delivering their opening statements, refusing to participate in an inquiry into whether their party helped conceal President Biden’s cognitive decline. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Peter Welch (D-VT) attended the opening statements of Wednesday morning’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing on President Biden’s cognitive fitness. Durbin walked out shortly after delivering remarks, during which he played a video montage attempting to portray former President Donald Trump as mentally unfit. He had already dismissed the hearing, stating, “It a waste of the Senate Judiciary Committee’s time.”

The trust fund Social Security relies on to pay retirement benefits may be depleted in 2033, according to an annual report released by the Social Security Board of Trustees on Wednesday. That is unchanged from last year’s projections. At that time, 77% of those benefits will be payable, according to the report. Social Security’s combined trust funds — the Old-Age and Survivors Insurance and Disability Insurance trust funds — will have enough revenue to pay scheduled benefits and administrative costs until 2034, according to the report. That is one year earlier than projected last year.

402 379 The trust fund Social Security relies on to pay retirement benefits may be depleted in 2033, according to an annual report released by the Social Security Board of Trustees on Wednesday. That is unchanged from last year’s projections.
____ There is no money in the trust fund. This is not a significant date, the real problems started when the money into the "fund" was smaller than the money out. Historically, SSI has been a cash cow for DC -- they get lots of payroll tax dollars, pay a little out, and spend most of it (while claiming it is in a fund which is just an IOU to itself.) The problem hit when SSI became a cash sink instead of a source. We are long past that date as we currently use other tax dollars to pay SSI obligations. Calling it a "fund" is meandingless. "I really do not know why people who identify as on the right are on such a jihad to save the Ayatollah."
======= The people on the right who are trying to save the Ayatollah are all ex-Ron Paul supporters. After Trump tried to extract us from Syria in his first presidency, they started coming into MAGA. With respect to the Middle East, they are convinced Israel is an evil country which is the sole and only problem in the region, and that if we just let Iran wipe them out, everyone in the Middle East would immediately be friends with both each other and us. When people point out that Iran was enemies with us before even before they were with Israel, they just mumble about the excesses of the Shah, as though that gives Iran basically unlimited license to commit terrorist attacks all across the world. These are insane positions and they know it, which is why they try to claim they are "America first" and "trying to save the taxpayers money." It's also why they get very ass-blasted when people call them anti-Semites, though sometimes they get careless and take the mask off like that "America first historian" Tucker promoted who called for Trump to bomb Tel Aviv. Posted by: Mister Scott (Formerly GWS) at June 18, 2025 03:47 PM (e5NfL) ++++ The former is certainly true. If the Mullahs fall, there will be a vacuum and that vacuum *will* be filled. If, IF, the US gets involved in Iran... will terrorist cells on our soil pop up like smallpox pustules with dirty bombs of some type? IF the Ko Manny gave a signal or some crap. These bastards have been sneaking in for decades and lie in wait for general fatwa or our country to turn into Rotherham. For the rapes and fun times. Which will never happen because, jihadis, we have guns and will kill you dead quickly if you rape. Or my imagination runs wild. I will not ever fear terrorists as that is what they wanted on 9/11 and I would not give it to them. I did feel a tad of fear in FL when the skies got silent and there was supposedly a jet still in the air. I could feel myself getting tense. While it was the most horrible day of our generation to witness, and more horrible for those of you in NYC, my few moments of fear, after the initial shock and horror, were replaced by anger and grief. Anger as to how did the government, sworn to protect us, let this happen? Only GWB can answer this when he is not painting dogs, and I think he seems a bit senile at this point.
