Pixy Misa, whoever you are, you're one of my favorite content creators here.

I downloaded Cluely tonight only to get that Google / Cloudflare outage message and I thought WHAT?! Couldn't Cluely cheat its way out of it?

Also, I'm sure everyone in Sacramento is heaving a sigh of relief that Donald Trump canceled California's restraints on gas-powered cars. If we'd had to run our cars on electricity while Silly Valley needed to amp up for Higher Bandwidth, there would have been yet another schism in the Party.

14 An odd discovery today. 'Monty Python's The Meaning of Life' (1983) was always a great favorite. Most will remember the sketch following a battle in the Zulu War where one of Eric Idle's legs was stolen while sleeping in his tent. The doctor's assessment is that the culprit was a tiger. "A tiger, in Africa?" is the response. And so on.

On Tubi I found this 1972 movie called 'What?', directed by Roma Polanski. Most of it is stupid and boring, about a young woman traveling in Italy who flees would-be rapists by sheltering in a palatial estate that unquestioningly just gives her a room without any consideration for how she got there. The place seems to be some sort of luxury lunatic asylum but is eventually revealed to be owned by an elderly zillionaire who has taken in a menagerie of eccentrics.

The true and sole charm of the movie is that the very attractive lead, played by Sidne Rome, spends most of her time naked or close to it. At one point Marcello Mastroianni produces a full tiger skin with head, claiming to have shot it on safari in Africa. "A tiger, in Africa?" she asks twice.

Now I'm obsessed with finding out if this was a purposeful reference in the Monty Python movie.

That is so sweet. My family here, Mom, Dad and my brother never gave a damn about Holidays except for Christmas.

And my beautiful friends across the street, we created Christmas in September, October, sometimes November. The first year the kids just wanted to come over and help decorate the tree and house. Beautiful job. But Mom and I picked up pizza.

Those Christmases continue. Tougher this year, but working on it.

So Father's Day!? My friend has three beautiful children he would do anything for. And has. He is an amazing guy. So thank you for reminding me about Father's Day.

I won't bug him. I have been through a lot and have been high maintenance lately.

Happy Father's Day to my friend. I often tell him that I am so happy he is so blessed. And I mean it.

Damn, the beers must be kicking in. And it's 5:20am.

That woman, Gov. Hokum, is the worst. You're right next door, so to speak, and you probably have no idea how truly bad she is. She is a dumb NY Democrat Machine Politician. She has no original thought that hasn't been bought and paid for. She's the worst. Paraphrase: Poor black kids in the South Bronx don't know what a computer is. Getting grilled by Stefanik, Hokum had no idea the name of the illegal who burned alive that woman on the subway. Now I may not remember, but she's a governor giving testimony in front of Congress. She should bloody well know.

Do you remember that Father's Day pic from Schumer with the raw cheeseburger? Hokum had something similar. She was photo op'd holding a spatula in front of a smoky grill in a white outfit. Yep. Everybody always wears white when grilling. Another Dem trying to look human and she just couldn't pull it off.

The worst.

No, things just happened. Mom was a nun for 14 years and about 84 and loved Christmas. And I was her caregiver. The rescue dog just barks so we close the lights at Halloween.

Even though it was October, things were going up.

And my friends' oldest child loves Christmas and wanted to help decorate the tree. Yes, of course.

Entire family came down after 5pm. Kids decorated the tree. We got pizza. Very nice and easygoing.

But we did add gifts in future years. Because KIDS! Christmas.

38 Evening and morning on this Lord's Day to all of the posters.

An oddly muffled intro to my posting? True. I slept much less than normal lat night and am still a little weary. Nothing major as the cause -- just a mosquito bite on my left forearm that itched maddeningly as I was trying to fall asleep. I tried soap and water, alcohol (external, of course), anti-itch cream, calamine lotion, and at last, Aspercreme. I wonder if that last worked, or if it was the combo of everything. Anyway, I got about four hours' sleep . . . and I feel oddly alert and yet tired at the same time.

Good morning, Fen

I don't recall a Marx Playset of the Alamo; but there was one called "The Blue and the Gray," U.S. Civil War of course. The concept of war was not yet anathema to toy manufacturers. There were cap guns galore, including realistic-looking Lugers and Colt .45 1911s, and Mattel even had a cap-firing Thompson submachine gun!

A great way to lose money.

Iowa's Educational Student Account program apparently sucks at this. We reapplied for Pookette's third year in it, had to send in proof of ID, and still haven't heard back past the promised 10-day promised return point.

It could be the problem isn't our ID but the fact that our 1040 says we have $2k/yr in taxable income. That probably threw up red flags, but the fact is, when you live on government benefits, it thankfully isn't taxed. Because even our government isn't that stupid.

71 I found these comments on Trump's first six months in office by Michael Goodwin writing in the "NY Post" drily amusing :

One way to look at the first six months of Donald Trump’s second term is that the wily president has managed to trick Democrats into fighting common sense and adopting bizarre and unpopular positions.

Consider how he lured them into wildly protecting waste, fraud and abuse in the budget simply by having a plan to cut it.

Then the president, by keeping a campaign promise, fooled his opponents into engaging in violent riots and trying to block his deportations of illegal immigrants, including those who had committed serious crimes here.

Another thing I noticed was that almost all of the soldiers in the armored vehicles were smiling and waving at the spectators. One of the Fox reporterettes mentioned that she was surprised by how big the armored vehicles were and it was "like watching dinosaurs marching by."

The troops marching in formation, not so much (they don't have that freedom of movement while in formation). They all had an expression that showed they were thinking, "If I fckv this up, Top is going fckv me up."

Weather cooperated for the parade, so that was a nice bonus. Air Force wimped out, but the Army paratroopers, and helicopters made their appearances. The fly-by of the pair of P-51 Mustang fighters and the B-25 Mitchell bomber was a nice nod to the Army Air Corp of WWII.

I seem to recall that several, perhaps many other acts of violence perpetrated by Democrats always seem to end up as a "ball of yarn" sort of deal with several others involved. Many times those being family and/or co-workers.

But it's always sanctioned violence.

The third was "Old Man's War's Old Man's Girl Boss Daughter Kicks Ass!!!!"

Same with Charles Stross. Always been a progtard but not an annoyance till he decided that THE MESSAGE was more important than his story.

188 These No Kings marches were pathetic. Firstly, the main promoter is an ultra-rich oligarch who cruises around on a super yacht with her multi-billion dollar personal wealth. Sort of hard to accept the No Kings bit given the anti-democratic intrusion of this hideous woman. Secondly, there was no actual message other than one of overarching weakness and depenency. Chanting in unison to the programatic script of those who feel entitled to run the world's affairs is hardly an act of intellectual prowess.

The "miracle" was nothing more than Reagan's massive defense buildup in the Route 128 sector, along with Boston Mayor Kevin White's bold redevelopment plan. Dukakis was simply well-positioned, but was out of his depth.
