Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Rant: Minimalist Edition![]() The White House stated that more than 330 illegal immigrants were arrested for being involved in rioting in Los Angeles over the past several days and that they will now be deported from the United States. In a press conference on June 11, White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said that 113 of them “had prior criminal convictions.” She said that, overall, 157 people have been arrested for assault and obstruction-related charges, and that number includes illegal immigrants and U.S. citizens. This will be a powerful indicator of the seriousness of the Trump administration and its claim that the rule of law is returning to America. Will these charges be quietly dropped? Will these illegal aliens be given the opportunity to slip back into America? Will the clear message from the previous Democrat administrations that rioting and destruction is an appropriate response to legal actions be enshrined in our justice system? The early indications are good... federal law enforcement seems to be taking seriously the idea that protest is appropriate but violence will be dealt with aggressively. And sweeping up the illegals during protests against sweeping up illegals is a delicious irony that hopefully will not be lost on the shock troops of the left. If the Trump administration's policies create fear among the huge illegal population of America, then they will have done an admirable job. These people are criminals, and they should be afraid! And if that fear extends to the employers of these illegals...even better! The imprisonment of few hundred owners of the many thousands of firms that willingly employ illegals will go a long way to changing the paradigm in America: that we need illegals to do the work that Americans won't. If that means that we pay more for hamburger and carrots and pork chops and new roofs? Well, that is the price we must pay to wrest control of our country from the globalists who opened our borders to these invaders, and then gave them our tax money and took our jobs! ******** CBD- after reading your opening paragraph it occurs to me that there was an essay linked in Sefton's Morning Report yesterday posing the question, does mental illness really exist. The same thesis could be applied to law, and crime. Bear with me here. Just as the field of psychiatry is ultimately ideological and political, and psychiatric treatment is about managing behavior rather than treating an illness, our legislature and judiciary are increasingly partisan and controlling. Our legislatures (state and federal) don't really pass laws these days, they pass social behavioral ordinances. Crime and criminals are no longer clearly defined, and are often excused, or worse, encouraged and cheered, if it serves a political purpose. I see a certain parallel. Our legislatures (state and federal) don't really pass laws these days, they pass social behavioral ordinances. Crime and criminals are no longer clearly defined, and are often excused, or worse, encouraged and cheered, if it serves a political purpose. I see a certain parallel.

Depends on the crop. Strawberries are primarily picked by hand. While mechanized strawberry harvesting technology is being developed, it's not yet widely adopted, and handpicking remains the dominant method. This is due to the delicate nature of strawberries and the need for careful handling to ensure quality and prevent bruising Berries like raspberries, blackberries, and blueberries can be harvested both by hand and machine, depending on the intended use and the specific variety. Hand-picking is often preferred for fresh market berries, while machine harvesting is more common for berries destined for processing Posted by: Archimedes at June 12, 2025 11:56 AM (s8j++) 220

Our national roots of liberty and independence aside, there a many institutions that seek to instill in us a tolerance for authoritarianism. Starting when we're kids our churches, schools, and parents teach us to unquestioningly and unhesitatingly RESPECT THEIR AUTHORI-TIE under threat of punishment and/or eternal damnation. This may not be the case as much presently, but it's definitely been an undercurrent for some time. This creates inevitable tension in a society that claims freedom and liberty but teaches cowed servility in a number of contexts.
Posted by: Internal contradictions at June 12, 2025 12:01 PM (TbWk/) Yeah, I think there's a sharp edge of a sword there, and the balance would have been made safe in the past, by a society with shared values, and a sense of purpose. What we lost in recent decades, not by accident, is that shared sense, the shared morality, and as those institutions got taken over by evil people, it's gone tits up and perverted.
