The Morning Report — 6/ 6 /25

If the video is glitchy, It is The World at War Episode 17 "Morning" which is aeasily found on YouTube and elsewhere.

Good morning kids. 81 years ago at almost this very hour, the allied armies, led by the United States and the British stormed ashore on five Normandy beaches to begin the liberation of Europe from the barbarism of Nazi German occupation and all of its horrors. God bless the sacred memory of all those wonderful guys who gave their lives and eternal honor to all who came ashore that day.

Within a year, those who survived the landings would have to endure other nightmares, with names written in their and their buddies' blood like Falaise, Arnhem, Bastogne, the Hurtgen Forest and then the Rhine, and if they survived would ultimately come upon the electrified barbed wire gates of hell that were Buchenwald, Dachau, Belsen, Sachsenhausen and Mauthausen. At the latter, the wonderful Angels of the Lord dressed as members of the US 11th Armored Division liberated my mother. Miraculous as her survival was, somehow both her parents and her 6 siblings, also managed to survive and be reunited to live long and full lives here and in Israel. The odds of an entire family making it through intact are astronomical, and as I am now in the twilight of my years, with one of my mother's sisters still alive at age 93, I just shake my head at what a blessing it was for them and me to be here today.

It's why I am going to have try and tread as lightly as possible, given recent events. And yet, sadly, tragically it is something that needs to be addressed, so here goes.

Holocaust survivor who supports nonprofit suing Trump over refugee ban surprised that illegal Egyptian migrant would set her on fire

. . . An 88-year-old Holocaust survivor who was burned in Sunday’s alleged terror attack in Boulder, Colorado, shares a message for the rest of Americans, saying, “We are better than this,” before asking, “What the hell is going on in our country?”

She's wearing a huge HIAS button. The Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society, is a Jewish American nonprofit that provides humanitarian aid and assistance to refugees, like the Catholic and Lutheran charities.

“We at HIAS have been so blessed to have Ali Mayorkas on our board of directors, and are thrilled to have him nominated to be the next Secretary of Homeland Security,” said HIAS President and CEO Mark Hetfield. “Ali has consistently demonstrated that he is not only a strong and highly respected leader, but an empathetic one who knows the heart of the stranger, as the child of a Holocaust survivor, as a Latino, and as a refugee and immigrant himself. Ali is uniquely suited to rebuild public trust in the Department of Homeland Security as he knows that America is at its greatest when we build bridges, not walls.”

This episode once again highlights the head shaking question of why are Jews liberal and vote Democrat. I can certainly understand how generations of persecution can attract people to movements and individuals who mouth the right words about Justice and security and yet deliver exactly the opposite. Hell, forget Jews but for blacks to vote generationally for the party that had them in literal chains as slaves and then kept them in economic chains, destroying them all in the name of political power is insanity. Which as we all know is doing the same things over and over again and expecting a different result.

Back to this poor woman, This is the direct result of thinking with one's heart and not with one's head while at the same time being completely deaf, dumb and blind to everything around one.

You will never find a more compassionate, sympathetic and even empathetic human being on this earth than my dear mother of blessed memory. But she knew what was what in terms of the politics of this nation. She knew what the Democrat Left was all about and would have none of it. From the moment they came onto the scene, she knew the Clintons were going to be trouble, and sadly she had to endure most of the first term of Obama.

The salient point is, unlike this poor woman from Boulder, there is no way in hell my mother would have countenanced open borders, or the flooding in of unvetted aliens regardless of their claims of persecution. And it took her years of sweating out the paperwork in a Displaced Persons Camp before she got her papers, and she had to prove she was not an indigent, had communicable diseases, was not a communist agitator, and that she had relatives here in the States who would support her while she got on her feet.

A big hat tip to commenters Washington Nearsider who brought this to our attention late in the comments yesterday, and to Lizzy whose reaction sums it all up:

What's wrong with this country? People like you brought in terrorists. GAH!

And just to preempt the usual trolls and other anti-semites out there, this is NOT a Jewish thing. Some people have bleeding hearts for very good reasons but unfortunately they let their good natures and own personal issues cloud their ability to think clearly, reasonably and rationally. And that is why this poor woman aligned herself with individuals who want to unleash the very same barbarism that nearly gassed and then burnt her in a crematorium, or shot her into a mass grave, right here in America.

Compassion and charity are of course noble and admirable. They are central tenets of Judaism and Christianity. But let's have a healthy dose of sanity

With that off my chest, the big story is that Trump and Musk are at each other's throats over the budget bill and while I have my reservations over incurring trillions more in debt to stop incurring trillions more in debt, the incongruity of this and the purpose of DOGE now coupled with the nastiness between these two individuals is only giving our enemies propaganda/politica fodder that we can ill afford.

We have to get our act together.

And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

Have a great weekend.

THE CONVERSATION: 'Amateurs Talk Tactics; Pros Talk Logistics'
  • But there is a cost to committing crimes. And there are costs for carrying out acts of terrorism. If one of those costs is inconvenience to your loved ones, then perhaps you should think twice about it first. Because the sympathies of the American public have been stretched quite far enough. There are none so blind as those who will not see.

Bit by bit over the years they've slavishly parroted whatever the party wanted. I suspect that most of them don't ever give a single thought to the ramifications. They're NPCs.

14 "It appears the fire may have started in one or more of the lithium-ion batteries that power the EVs. What's certain is that the Coast Guard is going to let the ship burn, since trying to put out a lithium-ion fire is nearly futile."

Know why we are piling on trillions upon trillions of new debt?

Because we aren't just the World's Policeman, apparently we are supposed to be the World's Fireman too. The Liberian registered ship started in China, and was heading to Mexico. Zero US interest. Exactly why do I have to pay to protect the financial interests of any members of this private transaction?

Its like someone I don't know drives to someone else's home and they get in a wreck on the road passing my home now I am somehow responsible for their safe passage and need to fix their car at my expense.

16 Trump v Musk

I have a minority opinion: It's all an act. Give me 10:1 odds and I'll bet the under.

Trump had Elon working on a 90-day deal so he didn't need Congressional approval, and his term was up. Elon had to know that the tax credits for EVs could go away. But if they do, Tesla's market share of EVs will increase as other EV makers fold as they can't survive without them. Musk said so last year.

Musk's saying that Trump is on the Epstein list and calling for Trump's Impeachment are too much too fast. (The only other explanation is that Elon is batsh*t crazy). Expect the Left to howl for release of the Epstein list. And they'll get it.

We'll learn that Trump hitched a ride on Epstein's plane once, before he kicked Epstein out of Mar-A-Lago for hitting on a 13-year old. And we'll get other names. I expect the biggest fish to be Bill Clinton.

• Am I supposed to believe that the very Deep State that tried twice to assassinate him after several attempts to use lawfare to bankrupt and incarcerate him didn't use this alleged Epstein Client List to go after Trump, not just for 2016 but for 2020 and 2024?

39 I can certainly understand the tendency of a lot of Jews to be leftists - intelligence, lots of indoctrination within the educational system, a need to side with minorities because they feel they’re in the same boat, etc.

This lady and many others have marinated in political correctness for so long that to even broach the idea that poor Muslims could be a potential problem is anathema to them and the indoctrination will put a stop to any further thought on the subject, much less allow an opposing viewpoint to penetrate.

But you’d think a crazed Egyptian setting you on fire as you march for Israeli hostages captured by the man’s fellow Mohamedians would at least wake her up to the fact that maybe they are a lot closer to the hated Nazis than she’d care to admit.

Do they have to come at her speaking German and wearing swastika armbands for it to click in her head where the real danger is coming from 80 years later?

I can’t understand what it is with the Cult that makes them lose any intuition about danger along with a complete loss of need for self-protection.

In other words, the audience had to put up with her dystopian neuroses and TDS hysterical breakdown because "I was treated decently" doesn't fit the narrative and and doesn't manipulate Leftists into a rage.

49 The Clown Judge "ordering" Trump to keep issuing visas to students attending Harvard is so far out of bounds.
The Judiciary literally has no say whatsoever in when, how or even if visas are issued.
Trump could say, "Harvard is a fart face with poopy pants" as the reason.

And there is--under the law--not a damned thing anyone can say.

As I keep saying, these illegal orders are not writs of injunction, they are writs of mandamus.
The reason it's important is, an injunction (stop) has much lower requirements than mandamus ("we demand"). Which exposes just how egregiously illegal the orders are.
They are playing stupid little lawyer games, "we're not ordering you to issue visas, we're ordering you not to enforce your order stopping the issuance of visas."

I like it. I hope it's true.

In the end, Musk feels he and DOGE were dissed. The alienation was evident in the final stages, and the chilliness detectable at his farewell event. He'd naively thought DOGE would be a revolutionary breakthrough, change the nature of governance in our time and be embraced and instantly codified by the Congress. Being a visionary idealist yet also a man who has manifested his visions as few others in modern history and spoiled by his success, he was deeply disillusioned and, at the rejection of his buddy at NASA, personally affronted. In his bitter emotional state he sees Trump as a sell-out to the system.

I fear that this obvious plan to throw spike strips in front of Trump's agenda actually has him over a barrel and they know it. In most any poll I've seen on this subject, the overwhelming majority of Americans do not want any president to ignore rulings...whether they're out of their lane and have no real authority to rule or not. We're in a bad place.

Saw a link yesterday for an article, "Why is Trump Destroying American Science?" I declined to read it, but I gather it referred to withholding funds from Harvard et al.

Universities always seem to put on the face of Nobel Prize-winning research and laboratories with earnest young researchers (who always seem to be black or female) gazing through Erlenmeyer flasks. It's never the pink-haired neurodivergent Gender Studies professor persecuting everyone for using non-preferred pronouns or the keffiya-wearing bearded demonstrators (of both sexes) screaming for the Jews to be driven out.

Speaking of, Melania is nowhere this summer, so Usha had to kick off the presidential summer reading program. While Vance is a natural, Usha (for the spur of the moment, I'm not supposed to be doing this, softball interviews) could use a little more practice.

I wonder if Melania missing kept Trump from having someone around who would stop him from the Elon mistake.

My grandfather flew in the invasion.

He drove one of the C-47s that towed and dropped the 101st Airborne into Normandy that morning (72nd TCS).

He took several photographs of the invasion fleet, and saved his combat whiskey ration cup from that morning. He tied a label to the handle which reads: "D-Day+1. Drank combat whiskey ration from cup after Keokuk and Galveston. The stain can still be seen in the bottom."

And it still can be.

I don't trust those polls. It's a loaded question without context. But it underlines the importance of Trump preparing the battlefield with a national address. The judicial transgressions need to be clarified and itemized not only as prima facie Constitutional violations but as a determined assault on the will of the voter and his mandate. The bully pulpit is essential here. And I don't mean helicopter press skirmishes, but a serious campaign of public education and persuasion. This is a legitimate Constitutional crisis. He's a wartime president.

And very, very limited grounds for an emergency mandamus.
Mostly, the parties are required to go through a whole trial before they can get a writ of mandamus.

But the biggest reason they have to hide their illegal orders in the lie it's an injunction:
a writ of mandamus is not permitted when the government or official has discretion on how to act.

The Christian life is not lived in isolation, confined to our minds and hearts. It is lived with others, because the Risen Christ is present among the disciples gathered in His name. We are part of a people, a body that the Lord has established. No one is a Christian alone!

146 Some of the people targeted in the October 7 attacks had the same kind of pinwheel-eyed, kum bay yah, bridge-building, one world outreach delusion about Hamas and Islamic terror.

-------

One of the major strengths of the Left is a psychological one. They don't talk in pragmatic or political terms, but in terms of good and evil. And for every second they spend demonizing their opposition as pure evil, they spend two more reminding their followers that they are Very Good People, not like those Garbage People.

That is in an incredibly seductive message, and gives them an unbreakable grip over those they've convinced they are the Elect, bound for utopian paradise.

So, as a particularly striking example, there's the repeated phenomenon we've seen where the families of people like Katie Steinle and Mollie Tibbets rush to the microphones to extol the virtues of Divine Sparks like the ones who murdered their children.

This primal urge to see a perfect face in the mirror will override literally everything else - the evidence of one's own senses, the consequences of one's beliefs and actions, the love of one's own family, and even the biological survival instinct. They're ineducable.

Musk and his team worked diligently to find the corruption and waste, etc., yet not a single agency was closed, they are still funding USAID for crying out loud. I simply blame the Republican Party for this, they have had control over the power of the purse for 24 out out of the last 32 years, they can always find an excuse why we need to spend more, can't reduce spending and the only thing they really care about is tax cuts, that's literally all they seem to want to deliver.

156 Elon kinda went out the same way Bannon did in Trump’s first term.

Trump and Bannon aren’t great friends now, but they still have the same agenda.

It’s unfortunate, but Elon is a relative neophyte when it comes to high level DC gamesmanship.

If he’d kept his powder dry and been a little more patient in learning how the system worked this all could have been avoided.

Trump certainly would have been sympathetic to Elon over this simply because Trump had to learn all this the hard way himself in his first term.

The federal government does not operate or respond quickly like a privately owned company will.

Especially in a government like ours which is designed to stop quick action and force long, deliberative debates with opposition, and divided powers as checks and balances.

Elon, like Bannon before him let the political become too personal.

With Trump… it’s just business, Sonny!

It isn't a Big Beautiful Bill. It's a Big Bankruptcy Bill, because it barely nibbles at the edges. It's a drop in the ocean. But the problem isn't Trump. And Musk should've pointed his venom at who really deserves it: Congress. Namely, those specific R senators who are loathe to cut back on anything. And we know who they are. If this is the best they could do (and it is because they ALL suck), then we might as well get used to the idea that we are going bankrupt at an incredibly fast rate, and the party is going to be over. If not for us, then for our children and grandchildren. DC is so broken and the people in it so corrupt and worthless, I don't think it's salvageable. This was the point in history where they could've made a real difference, but they don't care.

I think it’s decent right up until the squad starts bitching & moaning about their mission halfway through and they start getting killed one by one.

It’s not particularly focused after that and we start getting into melodrama and character development of characters I’m not particularly impressed by.

But the last part where they defend the bridge to finish their mission gets it back on track for a fairly decent ending.

I get the feeling Melania is a very private person who doesn’t really enjoy the WH or DC at all.

She really doesn’t like the press, or the attention and is apparently perfectly fine with being so far out of the spotlight that she’s not even in the theater.

I also believe the two assassination attempts have spooked her completely.

She will show up occasionally but I wouldn’t expect to see her as much as we’re accustomed to by typical First Ladies.

Congress established USAID as a functionally independent executive agency with the Foreign Affairs Reform and Restructuring Act of 1998, which gave the President 60 days to abolish or reorganize USAID. During that time, President Bill Clinton reorganized USAID and retained its independence from the U.S. Department of State.

I largely agree with the entire post, but it isn't psychological, its spiritual.

They don't even have the Broken Clock apologetic working for them. Everything they do is consistent with demonic impulses.

When they use the word "Charity", they use that as a way to manipulate people into ignoring the 90% graft and corruption. When they use the word "Caring" they are the same people who yawn over another person's rape or murder, they encourage genital mutilations of children and killing off the unborn and the geriatric.

They are pure evil. Being evil doesn't mean that they are actively engaged in destroying things, but it means that a conscience that is so seared that Evil looks like Good (ref: Isaiah 5:20; Romans 1:18-32; 2 Timothy 3:1-7)

267 New York City mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani refuses to acknowledge Israel’s right to exist as a Jewish state. Mamdani is polling in second place ahead of this month’s Democratic party primary that will likely decide the winner of the November election in the mostly Democratic US city.

AOC just endorsed him. Not a good look for her, esp in these antisemitic Nazi times.

Good grief. The primary voters can do better. NY has a large and active Jewish community, don't they? Could he win the primary be alienating them all?

"When asked to clarify his own position on Israel, a Mamdani aide tried to stop the interview." Pressed multiple times to clarify if he believes Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state, Mamdani instead repeated a line he’s been using that “Israel has a right to exist as a state with equal rights.”

Wow at people supporting Cuomo, who currently has the lead. Not only his sexual affair problems, but he spent years killing progressive legislation. He would be a travesty for NYC. How can we claim the upper hand on ethics and claim that fraud?

"Mamdani passed on signing a separate resolution condemning the Holocaust."

297 Tesla and all basically Musk's companies are US. Don't see how tariffs that target companies that offshored most of their manufacturing overseas significantly impact his business.

Its the supply-chain into Musk's companies. Tariffs raise cost of the stuff that just isn't found in the US because it has been regulated out of existence. Furthermore Tariffs don't mean reciprocal tariffs, they can also create other trade impediments like retaliatory embargo of REMs or other products unique to the tariffed country.

Pretty sure Tesla needs stuff only China can produce.

The R's in Congress deserve all the scorn that we can dish out.

But just maybe killing USAID isn't allowed in a bill that is required to follow certain rules to allow simple majority vote. I don't know though, it is a good question.

It'd be nice if Mike Johnson reveals some of Congress's plans for after the vote, maybe for strategic reasons he's keeping it quiet, though Occam's razor says they will suck again.

In the end, the objective of a troll is to sow misinformation and discord. They have no affinity for the truth. They pretend to be one of you, pretend to share your values, pretend their aims are pure, pretend they care, pretend to value veracity- when none of that is true. It’s an insidious vocation rooted in evil and perpetrated by willing, misdirected pathos peddling fools.

In an interview with the Virginia-based news blog, Hogue argued the widespread mockery of the group's efforts, which include "super charg[ing] social listening" and analyzing the "syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality" in male online communities, proved that they were on the right track.

Yes, I don't believe the party that has never been able to cut even NPR will live up to its word on follow-up cuts in future bills. But my objection is bigger than that. I want a return to ordinary budgeting. You know, the process that everyone accepted and understood before GWB ended it on the pretext of financial emergency. I will not support or vote for those who support endless omnibus packages that no one has read. Call it a CR or BBB. Be it Trump or someone else. I've indulged this bullshit for 20 years or so. OK. Something's been bothering me and I gotta vent it.

Why are we still hanging on these individuals like they will save us? It's not just Musk and Trump. Look back from the start. How many times have we fixated on some figure or another thinking they would save the Republic for us?

All those brave men 81 years ago weren't looking for some great hero to save the day. They charged in and did it themselves. That's the American way. What we're doing isn't.

I know some of the Horde have stepped up in one way or another, and I salute you for it. But we need to stop expecting the cavalry to ride in and save us. We're Americans...or used to be. I wonder anymore, and I point that at myself as well.

Maybe it's just time to acknowledge where we are, pull on our big boy (and girl) pants, and get to work doing it our own damn selves.

Let me just add this question. If you know better, if your aim is truly good, doesn’t that mean you have a greater responsibility to the truth than to pathos?

When you care it’s often automatic to respond in an emotional way. So there should be a pause and some reflection on what your response should be.

Don’t forget that in many media organizations, social media companies, Google, etc. one of the biggest groups of hires are PHD’s in psychology. Their simple aim is one thing; to get you emotionally hooked. They study this and deliberately plant stories crafted in a certain way they know will elicit an emotional response.

Their greatest enemy? A rational person who fights that pathos response and takes the time to determine facts and circumstances.

Remember those factors are not always immediately available. So haste in making judgments becomes even more futile and prone to error- which by the way, the media spends a lot of time papering over.

Stop. Think. Determine facts and truthful material outcomes. Read less. Comment slower. And more importantly Pray more.

I’ve been a vocal proponent of Congress doing more. I’ve dumped on people like Mike Lawler who think now is the time to squeeze federal taxpayers for NY’s confiscatory taxation. They knew the vote margin was small, so they used that as leverage against the rest of the country. Cowards like that need to be voted out of the GOP with the rest of the so-called SALT Caucus. That said, and I’ve been around DC, this bill is historic in what it achieved. If you understand the process, it also isn’t the end. We will be rescissions for spending currently in the pipeline and regular order which will provide a pathway for future cuts- if we keep or grow the majority, which hopefully happens for all of us.

517 So this think with Trump and Musk; it's no secret the left has been trying to shove a wedge in, basically since Musk bought Twitter. And it's clear he bought Twitter explicitly to combat the Dems, understanding they were angling us towards a mish-mash of 1917 2.0 and South Africa, with Spain 1933 being the most likely result...

But I have to say, shit fell apart much faster than expected. The GOP is done. I don't see any possibility that they're going to unfuck this, or WANT to unfuck this. Been saying it since 2016: war is coming.

Work on reading comprehension. There are $1.6 Trillion in spending cuts. That's the largest rollback of government spending in US history.

Some specific cuts:
1 - Medicaid eliminated for illegals.
2 - IRS funding of 87,000 new agents gone
3 - Ends funding of abortions abroad
4 - Defunds Planned Parenthood
5 - Removes all federal Diversity czars
6 - Removes all federal funding for minor trans surgery
7 - Removes all funding to the UN's various woke agencies

522 Eliminates Medicaid for illegal aliens
- Slashes IRS funding
- Green New Deal defunded
- Ends taxpayer-funded abortions abroad. And defunds planned parenthood!

Just sayin'.

527 "Why are we still hanging on these individuals like they will save us? It's not just Musk and Trump. Look back from the start. How many times have we fixated on some figure or another thinking they would save the Republic for us?

All those brave men 81 years ago weren't looking for some great hero to save the day. They charged in and did it themselves. That's the American way. What we're doing isn't.
Posted by: Brother Tim (102mm/W59), Keeper of the Tim Continuum at June 06, 2025 09:33 AM (OUMaO)"

Not going to beat around the bush here: all those brave men 81 years ago died for nothing and they didn't save jack shit.

Siding with Uncle Joe out of convenience was - not so much a mistake, but a deliberate betrayal by the American left. EVERY leftist dysfunction in the US today traces directly to the Soviets (some with a detour through the PRC). Western Europe will cease to exist as we know it within a generation and the demographics of both the EU and half the US are permanently (and deliberately) altered by the 2014-2023 refugee bomb, short of intervention by SMOD.

THIS is why people seek leaders; your well-intentioned man in the street can't seem to forsee these things

THE STORY 👇👇👇 Emine and Celal Emanet

Emine and Celal Emanet, originally from Turkey, moved to the U.S. in 2008 on R1 visas and later applied for green cards, but their applications were repeatedly denied, leaving them undocumented since 2016. Despite this, they built a life in Haddon Township, New Jersey, where they own and operate Jersey Kebab, a beloved Mediterranean restaurant known for its generosity—often providing free meals to those in need.
On February 25, 2025, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers arrested both Emine and Celal at their restaurant due to their unresolved immigration status. Celal was released with an ankle monitor, but Emine remains detained at the Elizabeth Detention Center, sparking outcry from local officials and community members. The couple has four children, including a 15-year-old son with autism who relies on specialized services in NJ...

532 Not quite the story?

He overstayed >15 years on a limited Religious (R1) Visa.
There's no indication the family entered legally (R-2 Visas) to join him even while he was shortly & legally allowed in the US.
He was repeatedly denied a Green Card.
No mention at all of the 3 now grown 'children' who also entered the US much earlier.
CAIR-NJ condemned ICE Raid on family-owned restaurant in S. Jersey, and called for Emine & Celal's immediate release.
While the case involves an R-1 religious worker Visa, it does not directly address the specific scenario of an Islamic teacher on expired R-1 Visa owning a restaurant. Also, if the family had had R-2 Visas, holders are generally not permitted to work in the US.
Brooklyn-based nonprofit Envision Freedom Fund posted a $7,500 bond.
Congressman Donald Norcross spoke in support of the Emanet family.

>NBC Philadelphia 10
NJ restaurant owner to remain in immigration limbo for another 4 years
The immigration case of Jersey Kebab owner Celal Emanet was pushed back another four years following a court hearing on Tuesday, May 27, '25.

How many similar stories across the US?

They're set-ups against ICE & the Trump admin.

533 People who participate in such probes are protected from retaliation by federal law. But two days after the journal asked Wasserman to round up documents, it informed him that he would be receiving a "Formal Reprimand" in his law review file.

"This Formal Reprimand informs you that your actions violate Law Review policies and do not reflect our community expectations," the journal’s disciplinary committee wrote on May 22. "Continued violations may give rise to additional disciplinary proceedings."

The reprimand was retracted five days later after the Justice Department accused the law review of retaliating against Wasserman and instructing him to destroy evidence, according to the New York Times.
