Supreme Court Stuns: Non-Minorities Actually Have Some Rights In America

Good news: the Supreme Court voted unanimously that people in the majority actually have constitutional rights

Bad news: This was actually in question.

In a major unanimous decision, the Supreme Court ruled Thursday that majority group individuals--such as heterosexuals--are fully protected under federal anti-discrimination laws, siding with an Ohio woman who alleged she was demoted and denied a promotion due to her sexual identity.

Still could be an uphill battle to see whether or not the courts will apply the same standard placed on employers to prove that they haven't discriminated or whether they will insist the plaintiffs have to prove they were the victim of discrimination. Majority applicants have had to prove to a finite degree that there was discrimination, which the courts would easily dismiss without hard, documented proof.

The inverted test in discrimination suits was and is anti-American.

Hogg publicly said he was going to use DNC cash to primary sitting Democrats he did not think were sufficiently woke. That was months ago. His comments didn't go unnoticed by the Olde Guard rank and file.

That he's still, remotely, relevant within and outside the Democratic Party says he's still got some pull. I know there's some sort of procedural vote to oust him later on, and it may likely pass. But he made it very clear early in his tenure what he was going to do.

That’s not particularly concerning. SCOTUS isn't there to rule on what’s wrong, only the law.

As for that, discrimination against whites is probably unconstitutional, but it was the Civil Rights Act that established private businesses could not discriminate on the basis of race. So that’s the correct law to base the decision on.

Thomas penned a beautiful dissent, explaining to Wisconsin not only our country’s history of defending a religion’s autonomy, but the Catholic faith. Here’s an important part:

The Church understands itself to have a “three-fold” religious mission: “proclaiming the word of God,” “celebrating the sacraments,” and “exercising the ministry of charity.” Pope Benedict XVI, Deus Caritas Est ¶25(a) (2005). “These duties presuppose each other and are inseparable.” Ibid. “The Church” therefore “cannot neglect the service of charity”—that is, care “for widows and orphans, prisoners, and the sick and needy of every kind”—“any more than she can neglect the Sacraments and the Word.” Id., ¶22.

The local government across the river from me disputed whether a church should be allowed to have a “soup kitchen”, claiming it was not within the typical activities of churches.

What do these folks think the overall aim of the church is supposed to be ?

Vivek Ramaswamy was suprisingly ignorant on how H1-B visas work in practice. Why do we need to issue H1-B for gas station attendants for example. I hope he received an education on this.
