Disney/ABC, Seeing Their Groomer Empire Crumble All Around Them, Tell the Shrieking Harpies of The View to Cool It On Attacking Half the Country Every Single Day

ABC and Disney will be destroyed by the #Resistance.

Executives at Disney and ABC News have reportedly asked The View hosts to reduce their political attacks on President Donald Trump and shift the show's focus back toward lighter fare.

Key Details:

The Daily Beast reports that Disney CEO Bob Iger and ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic met with The View's hosts and executive producer Brian Teta to request a shift away from political content, particularly criticisms of Trump.

Karamehmedovic reportedly pointed to episodes featuring celebrity interviews as high performers and encouraged the show to "lean into such coverage."

Ana Navarro reportedly challenged the executives, saying, "This is what our audience wants," and later confronted Iger again during Disney's advertiser presentation.

Diving Deeper:

...

The executives reportedly conveyed that the daytime talk show has become too consumed with political commentary and has veered away from its original mission as a more general-interest program for women. One source told the Daily Beast that Karamehmedovic highlighted episodes featuring celebrity guests as examples of higher-rated content and encouraged the team to focus more on that type of coverage moving forward.

While the meeting reportedly stopped short of issuing a mandate, the suggestion did not sit well with several of the co-hosts. Ana Navarro, a frequent political commentator on the show, reportedly objected to the suggestion, telling the executives, "This is what our audience wants. Isn't it gonna look kind of bad if we're all of a sudden not talking about politics?"at they'd prefer The View to be less politically driven.

...

Despite the executive nudging, some of the show's hosts reportedly found the conversation "silly" and expressed their intent to continue "doing their thing." As of now, it appears no concrete changes have been implemented, but the tension underscores the larger corporate concern about the program's political tone and its impact on broader viewer engagement.

CBS' biggest shareholder, Sharri Redstone, reportedly told her Left-Wing Animal House of Democrat Party Operators at CBS "News" to tone it down, too.

So CBS "News's" president quit.

CBS News President and CEO Wendy McMahon announced her resignation on Monday because "the company and I do not agree on the path forward."

Left unstated but hanging over her announcement: CBS' corporate parent, Paramount Global, and its controlling owner, Shari Redstone, are involved in settlement negotiations with lawyers for President Trump in an effort to settle his $20 billion lawsuit against CBS' signature show, 60 Minutes.

McMahon made her announcement the morning after the final episode of this season's 60 Minutes and just weeks after the resignation of the show's veteran executive producer, Bill Owens. Owens said he no longer felt he could lead the show independently.

19 I get what Disney is trying to do here of course.

20 "asked The View hosts to reduce their political attacks on President Donald Trump and shift the show's focus back toward lighter fare."

How? The entire raison d'etre of the show is a gaggle of hideous harpies screeching and mewling and scratching and clawing at Trump and MAGA over and over and over again. Like insane self-cutters who hack and cut at the same scab over and over, while muttering incomprehensibly about alien ass probes.

But here's the thing: that's why the View's insane audience keeps tuning in. Yes, it's a small audience, but it's an audience none-the-less. It's the only audience they have or ever will have.

That's a Kosovar name. 76 WASHINGTON – A federal judge on Thursday temporarily reinstated hundreds of Education Department workers laid off by the Trump administration and blocked the president's executive order attempting to dismantle the decades-old agency.

District Court Judge Myong J. Joun, a Biden appointee in Boston, said the White House's decision to fire more than 1,300 workers in March has prevented the federal government from effectively implementing legally required programs and services.

States and school districts are experiencing "delays and uncertainty in their receipt of federal educational funding, amounting in the millions, which jeopardize their missions of ensuring an educated citizenry and providing quality education,"

How does a judge actually make this happen? He has the admin rights to servers to regrant access? He sends new ID badges out?

Oh, he ordered something.

So, did Trump's admin do it? No, they have not. They're going to write an appeal over a couple of days while not doing anything the judge says, and then get an opinion that strikes this stupidity down.

93 I think it's the last or one of the last lines of "The Insider", ironically about Al Pacino's Leftist producer leaving 60 Minutes, saying "What got broken here... doesn't go back together." Great line. Encapsulates ace's point comparing these incurably smug Leftist media / entertainment entities to whores: once their virtue (credibility) is gone, it ain't coming back, ever. Ana Navarro is a c*nt but she's right: they have destroyed whatever elements of the show used to appeal to people as a whole and are instead just seething Leftists who will only be light about something with other like-minded Leftists, so long as they're all in the mood... And whatever audience has stuck with them has stuck to hear that. If the political audience is at 100%, and the show viewership goes to 150% with 'lighter' fare, if they abandon politics, they'll lose the 100% and only get the 50% when they get lighter content that *that* group sees advertised and tunes in to. The 50% won't watch nonstop. But the 100% will. And if that 100% The View political audience constitutes 2% of the whole country, they ain't getting any of the rest of the 98% back. Just embrace what they are...

And very similar to the physics theory that there's only one electron in the whole universe, but it exists outside the dimension of time, so it can at its leisure go around and occupy all the positions where "electrons" are supposed to be, one by one, timelessly, no sweat, for every instant in every time-cone. Clarkson's Farm is the one show the Mrs. and I watch together. Even though it's edited, it's still one of the best things on the idiot box. I've purchased things from Diddly Squat Farm Shop, the shipping cost was, well high. Always liked Jezza.

144 Interesting fact: Lions, tigers, and leopards are all species in the genus panthera. Panthera contains the largest living member of the cat family.

150 Executives at Disney and ABC News have reportedly asked The View hosts to reduce their political attacks on President Donald Trump and shift the show's focus back toward lighter fare.

They can't make the show apolitical because everything that woman-related is now a political issue.

It used to be if you had a woman's show that discussed stuff relative and appealing to women, it might discuss fashion, household issues, parenting issues, cooking and celebrity gossip.

But now women, as a demographic, have been reduced to complainy, shrieking, lame versions of men. There is nothing interesting or unique about them and their interests now.

It's the same reason female comics suck. All that "tampons! Am'i'right ladieeeeees!" schtick is banal and unflatteringly crude.

252 @TheJamesMadison - Epic Universe is fun. I was in Orlando a few weeks ago for work and I took an afternoon off to check out the "technical preview." A few of the big-ticket rides weren't operating (Stardust Chasers and Donkey Kong which I was severely bummed about, and Harry Potter which I was less so), but I still managed to get on Monsters Unchained rides. That ride was awesome and I'd see it at least 5 times if it was a movie.

The main reason I went, Super Nintendo World, was more fun to walk around in than any of the rides. I found Mario Kart disappointing because there's no sense of speed, but it's a well-done ride overall. I actually loved the Yoshi ride for little kids the most because Yoshi's Island is my favorite Mario game.

Unpopular opinion, but I agree. Civil War was based on such a stupid concept to begin with but I didn't think it was done really well and the Infinity War was so bad compared to the comics. Especially the second film.

Yeah she used to be cute but she looks very unhealthy now.

I thought X Men was about secretly being gay and Republicans being against it.

That is what mega queer boy molester Brian Singer turned it into, and the recent writers in the comics, but no, it was just about outsiders facing a society that was sometimes hostile to them. It worked because the earlier writers didn't write that aspect very often, but just enough that nerdy comic book readers could relate.

359 I recently saw the Endgame duo of movies.

I thought they were pretty good and was enjoying the last movie until that scene.

You know the scene, I'm pretty sure that's why those movies are held in low regard, because that scene is such a dud.

It's supposed to be a rah-rah, pump you fist, and cheer moment, however-

it's more like you're watching a great comedian like Steve Martin in his prime, and it's getting toward the end of his show, so you just know he's going to bring out a big laugh-getter to end things, and-0

Steve tells his big joke and it just dies. The joke is sooo bad that audience is stunned into silence, until-

s lone, loud, last-lasting fart squeaks out ifrom one guy in the audience for like 30 seconds or so, and everybody laughs, and Steve goes onto tell a good joke.

Like that.

That scene, of course, was the big Grrrrrrrrllll-power, lame-ass moment, where they alll suddenly appears to save the day. So obvious, so lame, so predictable that it takes you completely out of the movie for a moment of severe eye-rolling.

Otherwise, that pair of movies was pretty good, and I think did well to close out the MCU.

If only it had.

Captain Marvel 3 idea:

She becomes like Dr. Manhattan, sick of the world, and retreats to Mars with her massive powers to stay isolated from humanity.

There will be much rejoicing.

367 🔥🔥🔥 @karolineleavitt
just embarrassed a fake news "reporter",@Yamiche
for lying about the persecution of white South African farmers:

"What is unsubstantiated about the video? The video shows crosses that represent the dead bodies of people who were racially persecuted by their government."

"In fact, the @AP
of all places has a picture of that very monument and the caption is...'each cross marks a white farmer who has been killed in a farm murder.'"

"So it is substantiated—not just by that video, and the physical evidence that everybody saw on display in the Oval Office, but also by another outlet in this room, the Associated Press, so you should take it up with them if you believe the claim is unsubstantiated."

368 One film I'm actually looking forward to is Caught Stealing with Austin Butler, it's got a heavy Snatch vibe to it.

And I am actually looking forward to the new Superman film, it essentially looks like the continuing adventures of Clark from Smallville, Cornsweat is pretty much a dead ringer for Tom Welling.

372 That scene, of course, was the big Grrrrrrrrllll-power, lame-ass moment, where they alll suddenly appears to save the day. So obvious, so lame, so predictable that it takes you completely out of the movie for a moment of severe eye-rolling.

Otherwise, that pair of movies was pretty good, and I think did well to close out the MCU.

If only it had.

Where they lost me too. I audibly groaned WTF in the theater and the gal I was dating at the time accused me of being a misogynist because I was not down with the strong empowered womyns. Marvel has decades of stories to mine that made me think when I was a wee lad. Lots of history, mythology and basic science in the books...and less personal bias of the writers.

Now, they keep on trying to film storylines from the past 10 to 15 years that are garbage where there characters are over-exposed in all their remaining titles and they keep on trying to reboot past successful storylines and crossovers. It's a joke. And flipping the bird to ones who used to buy the books and would be eager to go see the movies.

373 I *know* that Carol Danvers Captain Marvel has had about 5 times the run as the silver haired male Mar-Vell xenozoologist of Kree.

But it still irks me she wears his suit--one of the coolest suits in comics.

>>I kind of hate Darren Aronofsky now, but Caught Stealing does look like it could be fun.

He's a terrible director and his films are typically nihilistic twaddle but this actually looks good and a throwback to late 90's early 2000's crime dramedies.

That actually didn't bother me as much as it did a lot of others, it was basically just a full page spread for comics, in the movies. Here comes more heroes! With boobs! I know what they were trying to do but eh, whatever.

What is kinda funny is that before everyone realized that Brie Larson is annoying and dumb, and the Captain marvel movie was a very lucrative bomb (like Last Jedi) which made money but everyone thought was crappy... before that, she was going to save the day! She would be the big hero! She would kick Thanos' ass and take the glove from him!

Then they rewrote it because people went "she has no ass and we don't like her"

One of the very few characters they have not ever brought back to life. Honestly Mar-Vell was kind of a dud of a character they kept reinventing but he never really worked. Then they killed him and everyone loved the character.

But yeah she's been Captain Marvel way longer than he ever was.

387 The View could be a show discussing current events/politics but not with the current hosts. Barbara Walters set it up with a faux conservative and then soft left wingers who grew into more hard core and vocal left wing voices who drowned out anyone who disagreed.

It would take hosts with maturity, discernment, and intelligence to be able to have round-table discussions with varying view points. These current hosts have none of those qualities and can't change. These are qualities that can't be faked or bought.

390 Footnote: the Arrogance of these TV people is staggering. To feel they have such Olympian importance that their company should just suck it up and pay $20 BILLION for them to continue to flap their pieholes is just ... words fail me.

In most companies, if your crazy conduct cost your boss $20,000, you'd be out on your ass.
