Shock Poll: The People Most Eager to "Disconnect" from Friends and Family Members Over Politics Are... Left-Wing Colleged "Educated" Women

A poll finds that college-educated left-wing women, or AWFLs, are the group most eager to sever connections with friends or families due to their cultic "political" beliefs.

New polling data shows what you may already suspect: your experience of losing friends since the 2024 election of Donald Trump is absolutely real -- if very divided depending on your political tribe.

According to Cygnal's latest national survey of 1,500 likely voters (conducted May 6-8, with a 3 percent MOE), more than half of voters (53 percent) say "it's at least somewhat common that their friends and neighbors have ended a friendship because of Donald Trump and the 2024 election" while "39 percent say not that common or not at all common."
The ideological breakdown isn't close. Democrats and voters who backed Kamala Harris in 2024 are far more likely to say friends and neighbors have ended a friendship over the election, with self-identified liberals saying they have a hard time co-existing and playing nice with someone who voted differently than they did by 30 points, a 2:1 margin (61 percent common compared to 31 percent not common). On the other side, conservatives are much more even-keeled -- 49 percent say lost friendships over 2024 are common, but 45 percent saying it's not common.
If you wanted to drill down to the biggest dividing factor here, it's the portion of the coalition made up of college-educated women -- a cohort that now dominates the politics of the Democratic coalition. In their circles, they say differences of political opinion have led to broken friendships with friends and neighbors at a more than 40-point rate -- 67 percent to 24 percent.

Obviously our society has been degenerating for a long time.

Jordan Peterson explains that they've conducted surveys to determine if there is a left-wing fascist impulse -- there is, obviously -- and if so, what factors lead someone to embrace left-wing fascist attitudes.

The answers, based on actual social science surveys, are these:

* Female gender

* Feminine temperament. Note that some women may have a more masculine temperament and some men have a more feminine one.

* Low verbal IQ

That last one, he postulates, is critical for breeding this cultish left-wing fascist worldview, because you have to be sort of stupid to believe that all of your failures are due to a Conspiracy So Vast of men and white people working together to keep you from getting a raise and getting a husband.

I get the implication, but I'm not sure this is really political or Trumpful.

AWFLs are just terrible people in constant need of affirmation. They can't take any deviation from their accepted ideas or they'll feel challenged and insecure. They would sever connections based on almost anything, no matter how trivial. "Oh you don't like Taylor Swift? I just can't deal with you now!"

They demand absolute conformity in thought in large part because any deviation makes them feel weak and insecure.

When my grandmother got her teachers cert, she went to the state Normal school for two years to get certified to teach primary grades, and then had two years to take and complete courses for her full teaching certification.
It got young women up and teaching, especially in smaller rural schools, it gave them the experience to decide to continue to teach or not, and it let them "earn and learn"

this also was in the period when women school teachers were required to be single in many districts, and many states. Grandma got married, and stopped teaching until she started teaching at the schools in the communities that popped up for shipyard workers during the war

I think this is why the old saw about being leftist when young and conservative when old is generally accurate. The bill didn't deliver on what Trump advertised. By failing in committee, it should get Trump's attention at least. Maybe he'll notice that Johnson didn't deliver.

A bad budget bill is better than the CR process we've had for 20 years.

Voting against a budget bill prevents the voting on rescission bills.

If the goal was the limit government, voting against the budget bill because it doesn't go far enough is just going to lead to another CR which continues to spend money on TARP.

I am amused by school districts abolishing honors courses because they "scriminate." So white and Asian parents either send their kids to private schools or get private tutoring for them. Meanwhile, the "diverse" kids end up with watered down courses that guarantee they'll struggle if/when they get into college.

315 I had a friend that I just kind of drifted away from. Various reasons. He was always to the left of me, politically. His wife is a Planned Parenthood fangirl. They're both Unitarians, so no real strong belief in anything except politics. I kind of miss the guy though. I liked him. I'm thinking of reaching out to him, if I can find his number. I have a different phone now. I'm heading to Western PA in July. He lives near Salem, OH. There are some really nice golf courses in that area that I'm going to play at.
