The Morning Report — 5/ 12 /25

ICEBaraka.jpg

Good morning kids. Hope you all had a wonderful Mother's Day. While I certainly miss my dear mother of blessed memory gone now 14 years already, given everything going on in the world and worse especially here in the USA. I'm glad she's not around to see it, especially the eruption of anti-Semitism.

And of course the complete flaunting of the rule of law by both elected officials and the bastardization of the law by judges who are sworn to uphold it. The most recent and horribly repulsive examples happened in Newark NJ and Worcester MA over the weekend.

Yesterday, news broke that a passel of Democrats—three Congresspeople and the Newark mayor—went all “insurrectiony” and tried to storm the Newark ICE facility. Newark’s mayor was arrested, but as of this writing, the congresspeople involved (Reps. Bonnie Watson Coleman (D-NJ), Rob Menendez (D-NJ), and LaMonica McIver (D-NJ) were still free. However, a new video has emerged that makes it look as if federal prosecutors might at least want to think about investigating McIver, who really seems to have gotten into the swing of things, grabbing at, body slamming, and verbally abusing ICE agents. That’s just my take, of course. I’m not actually accusing her of anything.

You can reach your own conclusions by watching the bodycam video yourself:

And FYI Ras Baraka is the demon seed of one Amiri Baraka . . .

Anti-white, anti-Semitic writer, formerly named LeRoi Jones, Self-avowed “Third World Marxist-Leninist” . . . Was named Poet Laureate of New Jersey in 2002.

Meanwhile up the coast a ways . . .

A video making the rounds on social media appears to show residents in Worcester, Massachusetts surrounding and assaulting ICE agents while they were in the process of detaining a mother just a day after arresting the alleged father of the same family.

According to Boston.com: Worcester police said officers responded to the neighborhood around 11:13 a.m. for reports of around 25 people surrounding a federal agent, while another person called to report that ICE agents were refusing to show a warrant to the crowd.[…] In chaotic videos of the incident online, an individual who appears to be the teen girl is screaming as up to five officers detain her. Another individual pushes police officers, who then push her into a front yard before arresting her. Ashley Spring, 38, was also arrested after she allegedly threw an unknown liquid substance on and pushed multiple officers who were attempting to arrest the 16-year-old. Spring is charged with assault and battery on a police officer, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (unknown liquid), disorderly conduct, and interfering with a police officer.

As lurker extraordinaire and Ace cruelty fanboi Prof. Victor Davis Hanson laments,

Another hallmark of Western civilization was the creation of a judiciary that gave the state the power to enforce laws, ensure justice, and deter criminals by swift punishment, unaffected by ideology, bias, bribes, and personal vendettas. From the law codes of Justinian to the American Constitution, ascendant civilizations rose with a codified legal system applied uniformly, disinterestedly, and fairly.

Not any longer. Ideology has turned the American legal system into a commissariat of sorts in which relativism is now the norm. Vandalize a Tesla in a blue state and, like the South of old, the laws will be lightly if even enforced and applied selectively. No one seriously believes that Alvin Bragg, Letitia James, Jack Smith, and Fani Willis were interested in real crimes rather than concocting them to destroy a presidential candidate and thus warp the political system. In contemporary America, it was far more likely to suffer a jail sentence for walking peaceably but unlawfully in the Capitol than for torching a federal courthouse, historic church, or police precinct in the summer of 2020. . .

. . . Tribalism was a premodern obstacle to civilization. It remains so in many parts of the Middle East, where it is routine to hire, promote, retain, and reward on the basis of kinship and bloodlines. In America, we were supposed to have a singular meritocracy, civilization’s effort to ensure that those with the most expertise and experience were charged with the most important tasks and responsibilities to ensure the safety and welfare of the majority. Race, religion, gender, and sexual orientation were neither rewarded nor punished. Instead, we here, too, returned to premodern tribalism and race quotas, regressing to precivilization ideas that we owe our allegiance first to those who share a superficial appearance rather than to the body politic at large.

Tribalism indeed, but the ultimate goal at least for the Democrat/Left bone-in-the-nose tribe of cannibals is the acquisition and permanent hold on absolute power. Anything and anyone who stands in their way is fair game – By Any Means Necessary.

If the book is not thrown at the domestic terrorists in New Jersey and Massachusetts, then we are not far from a complete breakdown of the rule of law, if we're not there already.

Switching gears, President Trump signed an EO yesterday that at first glance appears to be a good thing.

Trump promised to implement what he called “most favored nation” pricing, which would cut pharmaceutical and prescription drug prices “almost immediately, by 30% to 80%,” he announced in a Truth Social post Sunday night. . .

. . . With his announcement, the commander in chief is revisiting a similar proposal that he tried to implement during his first administration, that was blocked by federal courts and then rescinded by the Biden junta.  At the time, the courts noted that Medicare was barred from negotiating drug prices. However, the legal roadblock was removed in 2022 with the passage of the Democrats’ Inflation Reduction Act, which gave Medicare the power to bargain over prices for a small number of drugs.

Obviously, the details have yet to be released. And as I and likely all of you and your loved ones are taking one or more meds, which can be very expensive especially if your insurance does not cover some or all of the costs. Here's the thing. I'm no special pleader for Big Pharma which like so much of our manufacturing base has off-shored, most alarmingly to places like Red China, but dictating prices sounds kind of anti- free market, no? Dare I use the "F" word; "fascistic."

Look, if the pharmaceutical industry is doing some hinky garbage to bilk medicare and medicaid, that's one thing. Close the loopholes, clean up the bureaucracy and prosecute where criminality and malfeasance can be proven.

In any case it looks as if progress is being made with China on trade, as well as in Ukraine and potential cooling down of the latest flashpoint with India and Pakistan.

That said, we all know Iran is working overtime on an A-bomb. But a thermonuclear weapon?! Yikes.

Iran is developing “boosted” nuclear warheads at a secret military site disguised as a chemical plant, according to intelligence presented by Iranian dissident group NCRI, which accuses Tehran of expanding its nuclear arsenal with hydrogen bomb capability. . .

. . . According to the NCRI, the Rainbow site is focused on the extraction of tritium, a radioactive isotope used to amplify nuclear yield, especially in implosion-type warheads and thermonuclear devices. Tritium’s incorporation is seen as a key step toward the development of hydrogen bombs. Sources say this marks a significant escalation beyond Iran’s previously known nuclear efforts under the AMAD Plan, which was ostensibly halted in 2003. . .

. . . The development comes amid heightened tensions, as IRGC commander Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami threatened to “open the gates of Hell” on the U.S. and Israel — a stark warning issued just days before another round of indirect nuclear talks between Washington and Tehran. Last week, Iran unveiled a new solid-fueled ballistic missile, claiming it has stationed similar systems nationwide, according to state-run TV, which cited military officials promising the ability to strike U.S. bases and interests “wherever they are” if war breaks out.

I assume the Israelis are likely well aware of this. The individual quoted in this article is quite adamant about avoiding boots on the ground in Iran but does call for more open support of Iranian resistance within the nation as well as around the globe. And I agree. There are ways to help them topple the Mullahs and neutralize not only the threat posed by their possession of nukes but finally ending 46 years of their spilling oceans of blood all over the world via sponsoring terrorism in the name of jihad.

Have a great day.

5 When I asked my orthopedic surgeon what my hip would cost if I had no insurance, he said it would be exactly the same. He thought it wrong to charge different prices for the same procedure depending on who paid.
Drugs should be the same. I'm not wild about the Fed dictating prices, but I do like the idea of Medicare/Medicaid insisting upon being treated fairly.

Something in this country is seriously fvcked up in regards to drug companies in general. Look up the SCOTUS case kelo vs. new london.

Basically the city of new london condemned an entire waterfront neighborhood and "gifted" it to pfizer through eminent domain. pfizer never built on the property and the day their 10 year tax breaks ran out they left the city and went elsewhere. No one said a word to them.

Above all, the restoration of the Latin Mass will all but guarantee that this pope will not push doctrinal boundaries the way Pope Francis did, and will return the Holy See to its traditional role of defending the Catholic faith and evangelizing the world.

I've seen commentary saying that Leo was elected to slap Trump in the face. Maybe the Conclave felt he was the person the Church needed. Maybe he was the person enough could agree on. Maybe Trump had nothing to do with it.

What I want to see is less jumping up and down about migrants and more about Christians getting slaughtered in Africa and lawmakers demanding priests break the seal of the confessional.

I’ve found myself thinking about this very issue over the past decade and more.

America always tried to transcend the tribalism of the old world, where every citizen was an American without a hyphen.

That was the ideal, anyhow, and usually only manifested as truth in times of emergency or war.

The Democrat part has done its best over most of its history to pit competing ethnicities, races & genders against each other in some kind of divide and conquer strategy that worked in many times and places.

They have, in effect, Balkanized our body politic for almost two centuries just to win votes and power.

Now that the Dems have gone completely off the deep end with their socialist insanity, modern social media and the rise of competition in the media space from the right have exposed them thoroughly.

Maybe we can get to what VDH describes, a non-tribal future, but I find it hard to believe it can happen any time soon from where I’m sitting.

I believe the problem is that every other country requires pharma to sell at, essentially, generic prices even for brand new drugs. This means that US patients are the only ones paying any of the freight for the R&D that pharma likes to claim as the reason for why prices are so high.

Trump needs to include in this EO that any country which breaks a US drug patent to produce it locally for cheap will see their capital nuked. No more fleecing the US taxpayer for everything the rest of the world wants.

28 but dictating prices sounds kind of anti- free market, no? Dare I use the "F" word; "fascistic."

It does sound that way.

But Trump’s plan is that Big Pharma can only charge U.S. customers what they charge for the same product in the lowest priced markets.

So if drug XYZ is $1500 a scrip in the U.S., but it’s $15 in Mexico, well guess what? It’s now $15 in the U.S.

Which it should be.
Americans pay the highest prices for pharmaceuticals in the universe because we are subsidizing the rest of the world.

And Big Pharma claims they have to because it pays for all the R&D.

Uh huh, it may pay a big chunk of that but the rest of those sky-high profits are going to million dollar sales commissions, executives salaries, and stock dividends.

We get screwed because they’ve convinced everybody it’s good for us.

It’s time to kill that scheme,

40 And quick question:

Let's assume Pharma Corp's R&D did slow down by 10%. Or even 30%.

Would we really notice that much? I know we have constant advertisements telling us to go buy these new drugs, but have even 5% of the new wildly expensive drugs been significantly different from the old drugs? Or just new and more expensive, and prescribed with incentive agreements to doctors?

That's a serious question. I'm betting R&D is mostly just an excuse to charge high prices, and very little advancement has been made overall.

(sings awesome new medicine tune from commercial I saw last night)

Tritium is necessary for the proper functioning of modern fission weapons. A small amount of deuterium-tritium gas mixture is introduced into the core of the bomb before it's detonated. The neutrons generated by the D-T reactions advance the fission chain reaction several steps at the very beginning, and make the warheads much more efficient. The contribution to the yield from D-T fusion is trivial, it's all about the neutrons.

All current fission weapons use this.

Then force the left to defend that.

Because this is exactly what the progression of the feminazi movement ("females are no different than males and can do anything males can do") combined with the "transgender" movement has wrought. If there is no difference between the sexes then there is no need for sex-segregated sports.

European and Canadian governments negotiate (extort) lower prices for US pharmaceuticals. Those drugs are already profitable and in-production in the US, so money can still be made on deeply discounted sales outside the US, since at that point the sunk costs are already sunk. If the entire production were sold from the beginning at the after-the-fact Euro-Canuck discount, it would be unprofitable, and the drug never would have been developed in the first place.

The geezers shaking their canes and shouting about the injustice of this have cause and effect exactly backwards. Forcing the entire production run to be sold at the subsequent foreign prices means either no more drug development, or no more foreign sales.

96 "German tourists violently attack Israelis in Budapest shouting 'Heil Hitler'"

--

I just recently learned about the Kanye West "Heil Hitler" song (that is apparently a hit), and it's fascinating.

Short version, roughly: The record industry has profited from promoting violence, drugs, etc. in rap/black music to the black community. The promotion of this degeneracy has created a sort of self-licking lollipop, and the black community has suffered because this entertainment has been purposely pointed at them, with the industry demanding this type of message. A message specifically to harm the community, with the full knowledge that it could cause harm to the community.

He created that song to barely even hint at a parallel outcome to the executives in charge of the recording industry.

Blessed by the piss-yellow coward John Roberts when he deliberately, in his illegal Midnight Order, used the phrase "minimal due process."
He did that intentionally--instead of a much more sound and precise "minimal process as only permitted by the immigration statute."
Because he knew his left-wing masters would drive a super-tanker of lies through that opening and issue illegal orders re-writing immigration law to require and grants the full suite of due process rights to illegals, the same as is enjoyed by full legal, law-abiding, taxpaying citizens.

When's the last time a federal judge issued a midnight order to protect your rights?
When you were being illegally detained in your home ?
When you were forced to wear a mask?
When your business was illegally shut down?
When your children were denied an education?
When you were forced to take an untested, unproven experimental virus cocktail?

Where were all these judges then, when American's rights were being violated?

----------
The two replacement Air Force 1's, highly modified Boeing 747-8i models (the most "modern" since they're not manufactured anymore) are years behind schedule and massively overbudget. Trump's impatience is what's driving this "gift airplane."

The Qatar government has a plane that was outfitted for the Emir or whatever they have over there in Qatar that they're willing to "sell" to the US government. That is what Trump is mulling over to use as a replacement for the aging, current 747's used for AF-1.

There's a lot of issues with the current planes, but the new ones won't be in service until after Trump leaves office. He is a bit miffed about that. Whether this "deal" goes though and Trump actually uses it is a totally different thing from it being "gifted" to him.

And, security 'experts' note that this Qatari 747 would need an incredible amount of work to even be considered as a "temporary AF-1" assuming the security services get onboard with this plan.

I was assigned one of the nicknames, ironically... the one that I went by on a daily basis, but I decided that wouldn't do and refused to answer to anything but my actual name. Principal's office... dad called in. He supported me and I've refused to be called by a diminutive of my name ever since.

142 If the entire production were sold from the beginning at the after-the-fact Euro-Canuck discount, it would be unprofitable, and the drug never would have been developed in the first place.

Ah, but if the after-the-fact Euro-Canuck discount were just a bit less deeply discounted 85% rather than 90%, then the US could receive that same discount.

Forcing the entire production run to be sold at the subsequent foreign prices means either no more drug development, or no more foreign sales.

So many, many things which we've been told we cannot do or it will destroy all only to find out that we can, in fact, do them. You see, drug prices will end not being 'subsequent'. Pharma will need to decide on a price and charge that price as opposed to raping the US and padding their bonuses a bit with sales elsewhere.

146 “Positive messages” are not promoted in any community.

The difference is the black community has been used by the spook agencies for decades as a sort of proving ground. Historically because it was so insular, and nobody gave a shit outside it. And who would believe them? The spooks used lots of funding cutouts, and research grants through the universities, prisons, and the military.

Recall how everyone pointed and laughed at the “politically correct” college campuses 30 years ago for a very mild example of this. They perfected the narrative on the campus, but now it is countrywide.

We even saw politicians, lawyers, and the media heads advocating that a presumption of innocence means nothing, “the seriousness of the accusations” and “credibly accused” should be sufficient to derail anyone they don’t like.

Then, perhaps, the pharmaceutical corps should start to negotiate a little better with Canada, the EU, and especially the U.S., because their drug prices here are a big part of the reason Medicare & Medicaid are going to be the biggest part of our continuous $2 trillion dollar budget deficits every year.

There is no way you are ever going to convince me that 500% to 1000% profit margins on medications are necessary for decades to keep a company in business.

It’s not about old people shaking their canes.
It’s about Fortune 500 corporations shaking down patients, insurance companies and the government for every $100 bill they can manage in order to keep their employees and investors living in luxury.

If it ain’t profitable to make cheap drugs then there would be zero generic manufacturers.

Obviously there are, so obviously it can be done.

206 199 Morning JJ. Seems some here forget that we have narrowest majority in the House we possible could have. And also the Senate still has a 60 threshold Filibuster for legislation (which saved our side under Biden).

Which is why they cancelled the recision votes originally scheduled to address the DoGE fraud that was revealed, which required only simple majority votes to pass.

That they treat the Constitution in abstract. That it is independent of everything. A Book of Spells to pull phrases and incantations.

The Executive is to serve the will of the People.
The Legislative is to serve the will of the People.
The Judiciary (yes, even the Judiciary!) is to serve the will of the People.
The people.

And no where in any of these illegal orders is there any consideration given to the People of the United States.
Not the citizen.

Not the voter.

Americans are last.

237 The only reason drug companies can charge so much is that they have patents on their specific drug. Even generic brands are usually made by the same company, or at least under license from that company.

Just like the federal government can withhold money from universities that refuse to follow the rules, they can also withhold patent protection from drug companies that refuse to do so.

How about this: Any drug company that charges $0.01 or more per pill less in another country than they do in the US will lose patent protection in the US, and ALL of their products will become public domain. If they need the extra income for R&D, they should make ALL users pay for it, not just the US, so raise prices overseas and lower them here until they meet in the middle.

The pills cost 25 cents to make and the current charge for a month’s prescription is over $19,000.

So .25 at 30 pills is a total of $7.50, cost.
What’s the profit margin on that?
They’ve even estimated the R&D costs in the article at about 2 - 3% of the total profits made off of this one drug.

So, I’m not buying their sob stories.
They make plenty of jack off of the American people.

Like I said, if they stop spending billions on needless and expensive advertising that’ll help their profit margins tremendously.

Posted by: SpeakingOf at May 12, 2025 08:37 AM

Generic manufacture is of drugs that are off-patent, i.e. old products developed long ago.

There is no generic version of any current, recently-developed drug. Those are still defraying development costs, and still have patent protection.

Generic drug manufacture has moved beyond pharmaceutical companies' involvement, and is not what I'm taking about at all.

By the way, if I need a prescription I always get generic if it's available. But, generics are irrelevant to this discussion.

Would we really notice that much? I know we have constant advertisements telling us to go buy these new drugs, but have even 5% of the new wildly expensive drugs been significantly different from the old drugs?

Yes, of course. That system used to work, it used to be a fair tradeoff.

However, we now have Pharma companies developing expensive unnecessary or overprescribed drugs like the trans hormone treatments, mandated vaccines (how much did they profit from the covid shots alone), and Ozempic (likely anti-depressants). How much time and R and D money was spent on those instead of curing actual diseases?

No, they broke that compact years ago. I don't feel obligated to hold up my end of tolerating the price gouging to cover socialist healthcare in the UK, Cuba, and Canada.

Dorcas, or Tabitha, in the Bible lived in the town of Joppa, a city on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Dorcas was also called Tabitha—Dorcas is a Greek name meaning “gazelle,” and Tabitha is the Aramaic rendering of the same name. Dorcas, or Tabitha, was a charitable person who made things, especially clothing, for the needy in Joppa. The story of Dorcas in Acts 9 is notable because Peter raised her back to life after she had died.

349 I'm no special pleader for Big Pharma which like so much of our manufacturing base has off-shored, most alarmingly to places like Red China, but dictating prices sounds kind of anti- free market, no? Dare I use the "F" word; "fascistic."

Medicare, Medicaid, and any/all third-party payment schemes are the roots of the fascistic rot. Fighting collectivism with principles has been a losing battle for over a century now. Perhaps the only defense is to get down in the dirt with the mortal enemy.

With the recent Colorado bill that allows the state to take the children of people who misgender them, one notable absence from the discussion: Colorado Springs based Focus on the Family.

352 Non citizen police have no standing. How can you swear to uphold the constitution of the state or country. But these fools don't care about law and order not one bit. They create all the problems in our state then continue to mess it up even more. Sick and vile peices of crap that they are!

The pills cost 25 cents to make and the current charge for a month’s prescription is over $19,000.

"Cost to make."

How much did it cost to develop?

There have been a few spectacular cases of hotshots acquiring ownership of drugs in demand, that are still under patent protection, and raising the price to astronomical levels. Some are in jail.

But, the pills are not being made with sand from out in the parking lot. They are being made with a chemical substance that had a long road of discovery and testing to become something that can be sold as a drug product.

CNN tells us the ingredients are 25 cents. Maybe they are. Except-- the cost of developing the active ingredient and getting it approved was probably something like a billion dollars.

Having no new drugs is option, just don't call it something else.

354 Yes “Jennifer” and “Guinevere” are the same name.

It would be cool for a girl to be named “Guinevere.”

THIS is where we are on a plethora of issues: we get down in the dirt and fight back or we become the dirt.

But if the Canada, and everywhere else, price was $50 (or $55) then the US price could be $55 (or $60). You're not going to win an argument, anywhere outside of a pharma boardroom of politician's office, that Americans should pay 10x the cost of something that we fucking developed because the foreign revenue is just 'extra'.

-------

The real issue is Canada et al being allowed to purchase a patent-protected drug for a fraction of what's charged in the US. Patent-protected, and with the R&D plus development costs already covered by the US price.

Press this issue if you like. If you win, and achieve justice, low drug prices will no longer exist for these items outside the US. The US price won't drop. Not until the drug is off patent, but that would have happened anyway.

358 How much did it cost to develop?

Posted by: Semi-Literate Thug at May 12, 2025 09:43 AM (CzfKa)

The article shows the drug was developed by tweaking Thalidomide which has been around for 70 years.

Did it cost money to develop the new version, yes, no doubt.

But did it cost so much that a 30 days supply now runs you as much money as a used car?

Not in a million years.
This is obviously a case of a corporation raising prices not to meet costs and a reasonable profit but to keep pushing the price up higher and higher over time in order to make as much money off the U.S. government, health insurers and patients as they could get away with.

And everybody here knows that’s what’s going on with every new drug that’s been put on the market in the last three or four decades.

It’s become an on going racket, not capitalism.

359 Good morning, all, and thanks, J.J.

From above, "...residents in Worcester, MA surrounding and assaulting ICE agents.." Hasn't taken long for the socialists to create "No go zones," has it? Tough neighborhoods, some work visas, 'love' & US babies, a few DACAs/TPSers.

>From above, "...three Congresspeople and the Newark mayor—went all “insurrectiony” and tried to storm the Newark ICE facility."

Updated May 12, 2025, ICE ICE BARBIE 'House Dem Lashes Back at ICE Barbie for Threatening to Arrest Her'
Newark’s mayor was arrested on Friday and charged with trespassing at an Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility.

ICE Barbie. The words & actions of women v. women is appalling. As someone recently noted: Democrats "Always offended, Never ashamed."

BTW, did you catch Bobby M. Jr. looking like he was about to faint before & after speaking during the ^ event? Got the impression the man is terrified by the other "House Oversight Democrats" & the need to join them at that location for their street theatics.

👍 VD

The resurrection & spread of apartment homes is really reshaping America. Like decades ago, it won't be for the best; in fact, far worse. imho.
