I need to get more cilantro seeds, I always plant it all at once, get one nice batch then I'm out all year. Need to plant in batches.

I planted peppers today, all mild ones. Some guy developed habanero peppers that are not as spicy as jalapenos, so you get the flavor but not blow your face off hot. Never had luck with peppers in the past, so I went and got some special low ph soil to see if that works better.

My wife has taught me that you need to make a plan to go away well in advance, something like 6 months. You're always amazed at how quickly the time to leave arrives, but you're glad you had the foresight to do it.

Nope! Tastes like pasta, it’s just made out of garbanzo beans, so more protein than regular pasta. It’s really not bad at all.

It's still too early here in SW Wyoming to plant, wahhhhhhhhhhhhh.

We have good luck with peppers here. Tomatoes and squash too.

The previous homeowners great alot of asparagus. Besides loving to eat asparagus, I've never grown them. It's strange, because some of their leftovers are already coming up.

Snowflake came into my room during my breathwork session and snuggled up to me. That was new

For anyone unaware, Snowflake is my friends outdoor cat that I buy flea protection for and let her in to sleep from 11am to about 5pm or so. She was a hot mess today. I took so many things out of her fur and cut a few other things out. And I took a wet cloth and washed her belly.

The last few days, she has been amped up. I'm not a cat person so I'm wondering if this is the weather.

He is walking on a leash now, he is coming when he is called, he leaves the kitties alone when he is told, he is doing great. He is crazy smart. He still needs people socializing, he can be skittish, but gosh it’s been 2 weeks today since he was rescued from his cage! He gets his sutures removed Friday, and that should be the last vet visit for awhile. I hope.

We have plenty of honeybees locally, but I really like the native sweat bees, they are tiny and zippy, and really don't bother you. There are some tiny little mason bees too.
I like them because they are out when the honeybees are still hiding in the hives because of the cold.
I have a very early plum tree that the only reason it ever has plums is because of the native pollinators.

If you don't like the time off, try a quickie weekend length thing and drive to something local and see the area. Its easier to fit in taking a Friday off, say and you can get a long way in a car or short flight.

A few years ago we planted pumpkins for the grandkids. We had several large ones and were excited they grew.

We had a 6 foot fence around the beds thinking it would keep the wildlife out. NOOOO, we went out one morning to check on the garden and some large animal tore down part of the fence and ate most of the pumpkins, lol.

I love honeybees for their honey and they are nice little critters if you don't bother their hive. But the truth is, if every honeybee on earth died this instant we would not, in fact, all die out. We haven't seen any bees so far this year despite having all kinds of flowers available for them. Even last year there were so many that they made an audible buzzing in our garden.

85 Keep the weeds down around it and asparagus comes up year after year. It is not grass. You want to cut it when it gets tall, but before the head frills out. The longer you let each stalk grow the woodier it will be.

Cut it close to the ground.

Cook it by boiling it, or steaming it.
I have boiled it tender in a pan with a quarter inch of water, then drained it, and put gruyer or other melty cheese on it, and stuck it under the broiler to broil until the cheese just starts to brown.
I don't make good cheese sauce so I do that.

I hope you and your sister reconciled. I never thought I'd be in this situation with my brother.

My mother and father would be so disappointed. I took care of them. We had no unexpressed thoughts. Dad and I were good. He was happy I was here to take care of them. Told me that as we were walking down the street. I told him how much I needed to do something in the future.

The last day with my Dad was great. Well, up to the stroke.

Mom was in the hospital but Dad had investments in the city needed to be taken care of. I woke up, showered and we were on the road. We had a nice day.

But at the Vegetable market, we talked about the price of carrots. Dad made a math mistake. Dude was 90. I was born very late. Dad didn't make math mistakes.

I was jogging on the beach and noticed a pelican out in the waves taking off then crashing repeatedly. an older man was fishing with a bluefish lure, the pelican dove on it thinking it was a fish and he was hooked through the throat. The old guy wanted to cut the line, but I said no because he would tangle in something and die. So, I followed the line out to the bird, not really knowing what I was going to do.
When I got close, the bird was snapping at me, all upset. I waved my right hand in front of his face, distracting him, and came up under his bill with my left, holding his bill together. Was in water up to my neck, got my right arm around him and headed to shore. By some miracle, the fellow fishing next to the old guy had a beautiful pair of new sidecutters. Snipped off the barb, lure fell out, I placed the pelican down and he flew off like nothing had happened. It was a golden moment.

I lived in St. Tammany Parish, twice, and did no such thing. You’ve got plenty of alternatives or you can follow no teams whatsoever. Personally if it’s not swimming or water polo, two sports I have participated in (still swim, but my water polo days are over), I don’t care. Our high school football team couldn’t even win district, but were treated as heroes. Our swim team regularly sent people to state (Texas - only California had better swimmers) and nationals, and often won individually. I went to state in breaststroke, but didn’t win. In water polo our team went to state, but wound up in 4th place. I played in our final game - we lost. But not bad for a first year team that all started as beginners.

Yeah, so you end up choosing a nation and them choosing a leader separately- which is more 'leading persons' rather than true leaders.

This was done for obvious reasons. In Civ 5 if a nation had ever had a woman ruler (England, Russia or china) she was chosen as the leader. It made sense in a way, but also showed how they were going to go.

Next civ will have you with Pete Buttigeg or Harvey Milk as the leader of 'America'.

Yeah, so you end up choosing a nation and them choosing a leader separately- which is more 'leading persons' rather than true leaders.

This was done for obvious reasons. In Civ 5 if a nation had ever had a woman ruler (England, Russia or china) she was chosen as the leader. It made sense in a way, but also showed how they were going to go.

Next civ will have you with Pete Buttigeg or Harvey Milk as the leader of 'America'.

That is so true. Most kids today don't have the luxury of living close to their grandparents.

We are blessed we are only 4 blocks from ours. It does make a difference in all our lives.

Stateless, taking care of your parents was a gift you'll always cherish. My parents were near a 1000 miles away and I was not there to take care of them. But I was able to help take care of Mrs. E's parents and aunt. And now we seem to have inherited a 95 year old widow of my church brother. This little hellcat is a real adventure.

I am so sorry. I know life pulls us in different directions.

For me, my brother was there when Mom and Dad died.

Big deal.

I have memories he'll never have. I'd go downstairs to my computer at 5am in the morning, 90 year old Dad would be asleep in my chair, WebMD open on the computer and printouts on the printer.

And Mom and I were solid.

She actually called and talked to so many elderly women living alone. She was a nun. So nun friends. And others

I'm thinking I should call her friends once and a while just to see if they are alright. Most are over 80.
