It has always been easy to dislike Harvard. Their smug superiority and class condescension is famous, but recently the facade carefully built over almost 400 years is showing lots and lots of cracks. Their vaunted undergraduates have been exposed as mostly illiterate, innumerate buffoons who cheer on genocidal maniacs like Hamas, simply because it is what the cool kids are doing. Their bloated management structure is filled with affirmative-action hires who can barely communicate, and when they do, it is often plagiarized. And perhaps even worse, their teaching ranks are filled with a combination of Muslim-funded anti-Western, anti-Semitic rabble-rousers, or mush-brained fools who pretend to be academics while writing nonsensical polemics about intersectionality, transsexualism, White Privilege, and on and on... But Harvard crosses the line between typical academic stupidity and far more malign behavior. They have failed to protect their students from obvious discrimination by professors, and even more obvious physical intimidation from the mobs whipped up by Harvard's curious support for every anti-Western organization and philosophy. Harvard has also failed to revamp their admissions and hiring practices to fall in line with basic civil rights law. Which would be distasteful but acceptable if Harvard did not accept government funds. But they do, so they should be bound by federal civil rights laws. And hilariously the administration and many faculty are crying about academic independence! They are suing, claiming they are a private university and the government can't tell them what to do! Hey Harvard...use your $53 billion endowment and be independent of government funding! But the best part of this whole mess is the possibility of Harvard losing its tax-exempt status. That would be absolutely delicious! Trump Right: Ending Tax-Exemption for Universities Can Be DoneAs the Internal Revenue Code makes clear, discriminatory policies "cannot be viewed as conferring a public benefit within the 'charitable' concept" of the common law" or "within the Congressional intent" in establishing tax-exempt categories under federal law. In the foundational case of Bob Jones University v. United States, 461 U.S. 574, (1983), the U.S. Supreme Court agreed with the IRS that "government has a fundamental, overriding interest in eradicating . . . discrimination in education" and that this public interest "substantially outweighs whatever burden denial of tax benefits places" on an offending institution. The high court found that this applied even to First Amendment rights, to which both Bob Jones University and Harvard appealed to justify their policies. Bob Jones’s loss of tax-exempt status was accordingly upheld and only restored after the university abolished its discriminatory policies in full.Read the article...it is worthwhile. It points out that a loss of tax-exempt status would also kill donations, which would be a lovely bonus. Harvard might discover how dedicated their alums are if those donations aren't deductible! My guess is that Harvard will prevail in court, at least in part. But going forward their position at the front of the government funding trough is in jeopardy. What prevents the federal government from rejecting all future funding applications from Harvard? Is there some legal entitlement to public money? It will be interesting, but even if Harvard ultimately digs its way out of this mess, their reputation has been tarnished, and it will take a very long while before Harvard can claim to be the greatest university in the world. The Endowment is an interesting topic. Currently, Harvard "donations" are set up so that the contributor can dictate where the money is applied. I'm sure there are certain curriculums that are more targeted than others by alumni. So, assuming they lose their tax-exempt status, and the government (at the very least) keeps the Grants a questionable possibility rather than a confirmed status....Harvard is going to have to adjust.
Already, they are feeling a bit of a pinch. In March they shut down hiring any new staff. In the beginning of April they admitted that alumni donations have taken a bit of a dive. So, they will react by changing their donation rules...which gives them more freedom to apply them to where Harvard deems them necessary. This will lessen contributions even more, IMO. I don’t have experience with Harvard grads but I’ve worked with lots of graduates from “elite” name schools over many years in my STEM field including MIT, Cal Tech, Cal Berkeley, Stanford, Cornell and others…. My experience is that graduates of solid state universities are just as smart and capable as those from the name universities with big reps. Give me an engineer from State U and they’re just as good as the engineer from MIT… and maybe more pleasant to work with because their ego is not out of control. I learned to not be in any kind of awe of the big name places….

From Wiki: The École nationale d'administration; ENA; English: National School of Administration) was a French grande école, created in 1945 by the then provisional chief of government Charles de Gaulle and principal co-author of the 1958 Constitution Michel Debré, to democratize access to the senior civil service. The school was frequently criticized from the 1970's onward for having built an incredibly elitist culture as well as being a stronghold for technocrats. As a result, it was dissolved on 31 December 2021 and replaced by the Institut national du service public (INSP).[2] Good intent often creates bad outcomes. In view of the "judges" being booked for their federal crimes, I think it is interesting that Wisconsin Governor, Tony Evers is instructing all state employees to help illegal immigrants avoid ICE.
This is primarily because Democrats need illegal aliens in order for the Democrat Party to obtain total power. Isn't this a violation of the Hatch Act? When State employees are instructed by a political hack to violate federal law in order to benefit a particular political party's chance of cheating its way to power, it would seem to also be a violation of Wisconsin's law § 11.1206 and 230.40 which prohibits such action. One is Allen Dulles who ran the CIA under Ike. Dulles' specialty was overthrowing governments like those in Iran and Guatemala. He knew his Bay of Pigs operation would fail unless JFK changed his mind and added US men on the ground. JFK fired him over it. That didn't stop Dulles from orchestrating anti-de Gaulle operations including an attempted assassination. It's the back story to the original Day of the Jackal. Harvard also demonstrates the true nature of DEI.
When the incompetent DEI hack Claudine Gay became president of Harvard, she devoted a lot of time to trying to drive out Roland Fryer, one of the best economists in the country, on BS sexual harassment charges. #VPDNews: Vancouver Police investigates mass casualty incident at neighbourhood block party A suspect has been arrested by Vancouver Police after several people were killed and multiple others injured at a neighbourhood street party in South Vancouver earlier tonight. At approximately 8:14 p.m. on April 26, a man drove into a large crowd of people attending the Lapu Lapu Day Festival near East 43rd Avenue and Fraser Street. A 30-year-old suspect, a Vancouver man, was arrested at the scene. The investigation is ongoing and is being led the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Section. Vancouver Police @VancouverPD 48m Eleven people have now died as a result of the mass-casualty event at the Lapu Lapu Day Festival. Indicated that the perp was "known to" police, and had had some 30 interactions with them, some involving violence on his part. But with no asylums to put him into, he kept getting released back to the street. It's all a big clusterfuck of fail. Failure by the federal Liberal government to tighten up bail provisions. Failure by the dipper provincial government to provide loony bins to warehouse these creeps. and failure by the VPD to find a work-around for those other failures. And maybe failure by the perp's family to do what had to be done? Posted by: Alberta Oil Peon at April 27, 2025 01:44 PM (8zz6B) 220

Or Junior was an undistinguished student, but Uncle Bigbux donated a floor in the new hospital, and the medical school admits Junior and makes sure he gets through school. WWII and the GI bill changed things dramatically for the Ivies, and once the schools were used to Federal mony, then one thing led to another, and then... disparate impact. Can't lose that Federal money. Once things were good and politicized, foreign money began buying chairs, then departments, and here we are. And as corporations began to be more multinational, what they wanted to pay for changed too. Posted by: Peter B at April 27, 2025 03:36 PM (wox4g) 256

Have any of the Ivy leagues been decent about Israel and in upholding the rights of their Jewish students? Princeton had people being harassed while attending a speech by the former Israeli Prime Minister. They shouted and pulled the fire alarm. This is NOT peaceful protesting!! I heard on the "Buck and Clay" radio program the other day that enrollment was down at the Ivy Leagues and that many more people are going to well known Southern Schools such as U of Tennessee.

When I was a freshman there about 35 years ago; they gave us a survey: 50% of the class was atheist. 75% Democrat/Liberal. 30% Catholic. We had 2 conservative student magazines on campus, The Salient and Peninsula (as it seemed we were surrounded on 3 sides by whackjobs). I remember during Lent, they seem to only serve steak on Fridays in the Dining halls as if they wanted to poke the eyes of Catholics as they rarely served steak during other parts of the year. (I never tried "Frank's Oriental Fish" for obvious reasons which was a common menu item.). CRT apostle Lani Guinier spoke at Class Day and Al Gore was Commencement speaker. The Lampoon was an equal opportunity satirist. After Dartmouth Review scandal in 1991 when an editor slipped a saying of Hitler into the masthead as sabotage, we published our own parody issue "Spring Fashion Issue" with Hitler in the 1920s in liederhosen. All the editorials were slanted as if written by Pat Buchanan. As a conservative , it was fun to draw the editorial cartoon of a GOP elephant sodomizing a DNC Donkey foreshadowing the 1992 elections coming up. "Bill Clinton Comics" were presient regarding Clinton's lying tendencies. (cont...)

..(cont.) one cartoon strip portrayed Clinton as a young George Washington with an ax standing next to a downed cherry tree spewing every excuse of why did NOT cut it down). Otherwise, the yearly parody of the rival daily newspaper (The Harvard Crimson....who were more lefty than the Lampoon) were well received by the classmates. I have not given a dime to Harvard after paying full tuition. Now that they are an echochamber (97% of staff and students "liberal"), it will fun to see their hubris be their downfall. After the crash, I hope enough conservative normal kids get admitted along with new blood professors so that the Quadricentennial in 2036 will be worth attending. The dean of the Kennedy School was lambasted for trying to disinvited a UN leader of a Human Rights group for a fellowship that always found fault with Israel after Israel had be attacked by missiles from Gaza into Siderot. It is even harder now for an undergrad to voice any normal opinions without being hoisted up on the social media or Crimson the next day. For the most part, the guys on the sports teams are the most normal and just want to avoid this crap. Ironically,..(cont...)

(...continued..) if given the choice of going to Harvard, with its prestige, history, social clubs, nice old buildings OR to an equally stellar school with the same professors and classes and labs but on a campus in Kansas founded in 1979 with brutalistic concrete buildings and every woke desire catered to, they would still pick Harvard due to the hard-won reputation of "white" male grads who did a lot of things with their lives to help this country and world in regard to Ministries, medicine, science, warfare, aviation, shipping, telecommunications, literature, history, politics..etc. The recent medical students chose to take down the portrait at the Med School of Oliver Wendell Holmes, Sr. (1809-1894) (Class of 1829) Poet, essayist, author, polyglot, doctor, who transformed medical school training to the case study/clinico-pathological method of disease but as President , he had not allowed black students in. They are now thinking of taking down portraits of KIA Civil War vet grads from Memorial Hall as "some students" complained they have "no connection" to these white men. These white men freed the slaves. The widow or family donated monies to have the portraits completed. ...

Cont... their classmates donated the thousands of dollars to have Memorial Hall built in 1870 and installed great stained glass windows by Tiffany and LaFarge et al. This is the mindset that has taken over the campus even moreso in the last 30 years. At Commencement a few years ago, Mike Bloomberg complained that "Harvard boasts about diversity in all subjects and matters.... EXCEPT political thought!" Still true today. They even changed the last stanza to Fair Harvard (penned by Samuel Gilman Class 1811 in 1836 for the Bicentennial of the college) as it mentioned that the college will be around for a long time "until the Puritan stock dies" as it glorified the evil white puritan men who toiled to make Massachusetts great in the old days. This battle hopefully will be won by Trump (and the Taxpayers).

Thank you, Senor Ace, and fellow Morons and Lurkers for indulging me in 3 long posts. I have read this website for a long time and enjoy the humor and turns of phrases. It is the BEST site on the interwebs.
Harvard lost its way after WWII. Look at old photos of the undergrads in Naval uniforms (during the war, 4 years of college were squeezed down to 18 months and Harvard was a designated Navy officers training base). You had professors like Adm. Samuel Eliot Morison (Who taught history and wrote the 14 volume opus magnus on the role of the US Navy during WWII. One of his assistant researchers, a Naval Lt. commander, Henry Saloman, was friends with Philips Exeter classmate and Harvard grad Robert Sarnoff of NBC put together "Victory at Sea"). At least in the men's private Final Clubs on Campus will you find, usually carved onto a limestone or wooden entablature over their main club fireplace, the names of killed classmates from the Civil War, Spanish-American War, WWI, WWII, Korea, and Vietnam. I had never met a coed on campus who knew about or cared about our wars even though when I was there, it was the 50th anniversary of major battles of WWII and alumni from the Classes of the late 1930s and 1940s marched in alumni parades to weak applause. The only thing that I contribute to is the Catholic Students and buy things online from Leavitt & Peirce, the 1883 legendary tobacco/pipe/chess set shop. Ace should do an article on that shop. That is what Harvard used to feel like and look like in the Golden Age.

I cannot lay my finger upon the Constitutional provision that allows extortionate taxpayer funding of educational institutions.
