Trump Just Wants to Sell Some Sweet Merch and the Left Is Freaking Out for Some Reason

Sometimes you want to sell a hat with your name on it, followed by some random numbers.

What's the big deal?

Is there anything to this apart from trolling? Steve Bannon keeps talking up running Trump a third time, but that's just silly unless there's a constitutional amendment.

When a president is a lame-duck, after the mid-term elections of his second term, he loses most of his political power, because members of his own party don't feel threatened by him any longer. Trump's power over his base will blunt that effect, but he will definitely lose some of his power to bully the RINOs and GOPers after November 2026.

Who knows, maybe Trump wants the idea out there that he's going to be president through 2032 just to keep the RINOs on-side.

I'd love to have another Trump term after this but... I think the strain is finally catching up to him. His hair is turning white and he looks tired. He's still all there mentally but I don't think he's got enough in the tank to do eight more years of this.

Agreed, and this goes to the point I've been inarticulately trying to make for weeks -- our CIA / Pentagon (and the USSR, of course), created most of the horrible political situations in the 20th century.

Or at least had a very heavy hand in steering them.

Left wing governments had to crack down on dissidents because the CIA was creating, bribing, and arming those dissidents.

"Right wing governments" sometimes got CIA help, sometimes got USSR help, sometimes had both countries funding their preferred candidate. (right wing of course being the broad "anything the left doesnt like at the moment" term, not how we use it in the US political system).

This instability and assassinations and bribery and tomfoolery obviously led to a lot of bloodshed all over the world.

Leaders of the House and Senate GOP are trying to hammer out legislation before taking it to the floor regarding the reconciliation bill on taxes plus spending bills now that the budget framework has been approved. There is also a debt limit that has to be raised in June or thereabouts.

But DOGE has led through contract cancellations/pauses resulting in a much smaller deficit in March this year than previous years during Biden.

Low production of cortisol is Addison's. Addison's is what JFK had that nearly killed him before he was prezzie and also is easier to treat nowadays.

Cushings results in too much cortisol provoking overeating, being thirsty, hypertension, and various other bad things for your system.

It is a real thing as my poor dog exhibited and it has very bad side effects on humans and dogs. Some dog breeds are prone to it as well.

I would hazard a guess that the biggest fraud in government is hidden in the programs that are least likely to be cut:

Social security, medicare / medicaid / VA hospitals, DoD and State.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there is a lot of fraud in corruption in Dept of Agriculture, etc. as well. But if I were trying to hide slush funds, I'd go to the political third rail parts of government to do so.

Delicately. But, I think it more likely that Casey doesn't run because even DeSantis is losing his mojo in his seventh year as governor with the state legislature. De Santis has quashed the rebellion over cheap labor Republicans there but it is still an issue.

It is possible that you get a Vance-DeSantis ticket though or less likely the reverse order in 2028.

Open presidential contests get more contenders than when you have an incumbent or a quasi incumbent like Killary.

Agreed. I was pretty anti-Trump for a lot of reasons in 2016 until that first R primary debate. When he said "only Rosie O'Donnell" I literally laughed out loud. That was the first time I'd ever laughed at something a politician said. Something about the honesty of it, mixed with humor, in the VERY SERIOUS SETTING that is SUPER SERIOUS GUYS where people usually just talk bullshit and repeat the same talking points for an hour or two just... I don't know.

Take a look at the electoral map and what’s happening with redistricting, especially in place like Wisconsin. With that in mind I’d be a little less sanguine about the Democrats future. They still have a lot of runway for electoral schemes that will steal power.

If you count city, state, and federal, I think it would be correct. Cumulatively, state and local have actually been piling on the fat even more than fedgov has in new employees, pensions, etc.
