Somewhere in the swirl of court documents it was noted the TdA guy's phone was in the Cano's possession and apparently contained inquires about getting hand grenades and something about some headless corpses.
Old man Cano, when he got wind of the extent of what was coming smashed this dear youth's phone and tossed in a dumpster. Big guess: getting a federal obstruction charge was way better the getting snarled up in what was on that phone.

Get this: they just, this year, added in a requirement that all of the people who vote on best film have to actually watch the movie.
Kramer vs Kramer actually won that year but Breaking Away was nominated. But the competition wasn't strong: Normal Rae, Apocalypse Now, and All That Jazz were the other nominees. I think Apocalypse Now is a really interesting and memorable movie but best? Its pretty flawed and doesn't even really have a story.

Growing up in Vegas in the 60s and 70s was a trip (don't recognize it now).
Had a fair number of friends (including my first girlfriend) whose fathers were in the mafia. Most of those kids got great jobs out of high school in the casinos parking cars (valets) and carrying bags (bellmen) -- making near minimum-wage but six figures annually in tax-free tips.
One of my buddies from football got THE primo gig at Caesar's Palace (the classiest & most expensive place back then): bellman who helped "run the hookers." Rich guys would come into town and ask him to arrange $1000/night hookers to visit their rooms -- and of course he'd get paid a decent referral fee.

I recently became aware of a tender bump in my gums and thought I'd better have it checked (because I've heard that untreated dental abscesses or infections -- if left untreated -- can possibly infect the brain and kill you).
Good call -- a 25-year-old root canal had become reinfected, so was able to get that properly treated.
