David Hogg, a controversial Democratic National Committee vice chair, is pledging to upend Democratic primaries by funding candidates who will challenge "ineffective, asleep-at-the-wheel" Democrats. The move puts Hogg, the now 25-year-old who first gained national stature as an outspoken survivor of the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting, on a collision course with his own party and some Democratic House members. Leaders We Deserve, which Hogg co-founded in 2023, announced plans on Tuesday to spend $20 million in safe-blue Democratic primaries against sitting House members by supporting younger opponents. In an interview with POLITICO, Hogg said the group will not back primary challenges in battleground districts because "I want us to win the majority," nor will it target members solely based on their age. "We have a culture of seniority politics that has created a litmus test of who deserves to be here," Hogg said. "We need people, regardless of their age, that are here to fight." It's an unprecedented, and controversial, move from a national officer within the Democratic Party that will enrage some insiders. Democratic Party committees, like the DNC, have traditionally not opposed incumbents in their own party, focusing instead on attacking Republicans, while the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is explicitly set up to protect incumbent members by providing resources, fundraising and strategy.This is the sort of thing Republican agitators should be doing. Clear out the dead wood. Elect new wood. Increase our number of wood. That wasn't the greatest analogy I've ever made. I'd say it's "David Hogg Level."

They sent it to reconciliation, and just settled on the Senate bill. After reconciliation, both houses have to revote if there are changes to the bill they initially passed. So the House did revote just accepting the Senate bill.
I think one problem is that the Senate bill was an initial negotiating position designed to make the initial passage easy, but totally impractical as a low. But that was what they were stuck with in the end. It had zero concessions to the right as a way to make their initial position as extreme as possible.

The lesson is that sometimes people involved in scandals are not speaking to the public, they are speaking to their families. They make public statements to try to get ahead of what might come out and shame them or harm family relationships.

It was a payoff to the hospitals. They put provisions in to try and buy off the insurers (If everyone is insured then you will get more premiums/covered lives) and then to support the poorly designed exchange plans it actually started costing the insurers money. Almost all the gain in covered lives was Medicaid signups. The end goal was to disrupt the private market and eliminate private insurance - which would have killed all the health insurers.

I just wanted to say that the David Hogg controversy is simply another fake and gay manipulation by the Democrats.
Ol' Snakehead gave the game away this morning with his tweet that the "pronoun" left should break away and form their own party and not mess up the Democrats election chances.
Then he went on to say, that he and the leadership really believe in the same things that the "pronoun" crew do so when they're elected, they can work in tandem with the Real Democrats(TM) just like they do in Europe.
So, clearly the plan is to be able to run moderate sounding Democrat candidates, effectively complete with Republicans, while the "pronoun" left win with their insane voters and then when they win they can combine with the "moderate Democrats" deferring to the "Pronoun" Progtards for insane policy after insane policy.
Hogg wasn't a mistake. He's an incompetent weasel but he wasn't a mistake.
