Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | James Varney: The Department of Education Doubled the Number of "Racial Bias" Investigations Against Schools to Pound Them Into Adopting DEI PoliciesHow close this country came to being extinguished. Trump has largely shut the office down: The numbers themselves are unclear. Neither the Department of Education nor its Office for Civil Rights responded to multiple requests for comment, and a listed phone number is no longer manned daily; voice messages left there were not returned. But it appears the administration has laid off some 240 people in the OCR, shuttering at least six of its 12 regional offices. Currently, eight of 22 "key staff" positions there are vacant, according to its website. When Trump and Secretary of Education Linda McMahon first announced layoffs in February, reports mentioned 12,000 active investigations listed on the OCR database, which was last updated on Jan. 14. Last month, Sen. Bernie Sanders announced his own report on the office, claiming 6,800 cases would be shortchanged by the layoffs. But no matter which total is used, the claim that U.S. schools are teeming with incidents of overt racism or sexism, or bias against handicapped students, is misleading, according to experts familiar with the OCR and its work. Lets get down to this ... how many "Departments" do we need ?
Its no small thing. I come from the trailer park in Kentucky. Yet, my Dad was a Union Man. And so, we needed things like The Department of Education to have "standards", according to his intellectual insight. I don't know what fucking standard he was scared of - us being from the trailer park in Kentucky. But he was awful concerned Mississippi wasn't educating their kids. My point ? Rest assured, there is someone from Maine worried as Hell that Kentucky isn't doing it right either. In between setting coon traps. My bigger point ? Let Maine teach coon trapping while Kentucky teaches the finer points of Trailer Park Planning while Mississippi does whatever it does because nobody cares about Mississippi anyway. School Library Journal, Researchers Find Correlation Between Racial Bias, Higher School Disciplinary Action, by SLJ Staff Apr 02, 2019 In part, "Using a statistical model, the researchers estimated the racial bias recorded by 1.6 million respondents who visited the Project Implicit website on a county-level basis, matching those responses with the Department of Education data. The researchers used data from 2015 to 2016, analyzing a little over 3,100 counties; there are currently around 3,200 counties in the United States. The researchers investigated racial bias with regard to five common disciplinary actions: in-school school arrests, expulsions, law enforcement referrals, and in-school and out-of-school suspensions. For each disciplinary action, black students were subjected to higher rates than whites. This was especially high with suspensions; 13.46 percent of black students received out-of-school suspensions compared to 3.5 percent of white students. This is nearly four times higher for blacks than whites. Posted by: L - No nic, another fine day at April 21, 2025 05:56 PM (NFX2v) 33

How Loudoun County became the subject of Civil Rights violations in public education (and subsequent state oversight) in Virginia: "Pastor" Michelle Thomas, multi-term president of the local NAACP, and social justice Democrat grifter.
First, she agitated for the formation of the Minority Student Achievement Committee, to address "disproportionate" results for minority students, and oversaw who got seats. They "advised" the school system on how to "center" the black experience (a la 1619) in transforming education, which included working to make ALL lessons a dismantling of "systemic racism". This included a recommended and vetted by the committee exercise in phys ed for Black History month, in which they decided on an obstacle course game, so students could appreciate the challenges faced by escaping slaves in their bid for freedom. Many, many years ago after advocating to a neighbor that homeschooling was the way to go, he got incensed, that they wouldn’t become “socialized”
--------- A couple of weeks ago a few of you recommended Ayn Rand's "The Comprachicos". Its available for free in a PDF version doing a simple google search. She does a ruthless take-down of public schooling, excerpted here: A three-year-old delivered into the power of a pack of other three-year-olds is worse off than a fox delivered to a pack of hounds: the fox, at least, is free to run; the three-year-old is expected to court the hounds and seek their love while they tear him to pieces. After a while, he adjusts. He gets the nature of the game—wordlessly, by repetition, imitation and emotional osmosis, long before he can form the concepts to identify it. He learns not to question the supremacy of the pack. He discovers that such questions are taboo in some frightening, supernatural way; the answer is an incantation vibrating with the overtones of a damning indictment, suggesting that he is guilty of some innate, incorrigible evil: “Don’t be selfish.” Thus he acquires self-doubt, before he is fully aware of a self. Yeah, Make America Great Again is a terrific slogan and we all know what it means: going back to the days when America was proud, when you could leave the doors unlocked, when you weren't afraid where your kids were playing in the neighborhod, where you didn't wonder what your kids were being taught in school or who was trying to groom them. When you went to the movies surprised if they weren't good. When you listened to music and every week another amazing song came out. We all know what it means.

I've learned a lot of shit in that 25 year span between being a kid and raising a couple. Biggest thing ? I was a judgemental little fuck for sneering at every parent for every whining kid. And people are not judgemental enough when a household pushes out two or more of the same ferals. One offs happen. Kids, it turns out, are like dogs. They have a personality - you can do your best to shape them. Good kids can happen to bad parents. Bad kids can happen to good parents. Two are not a coincidence. The obstacle course was run in PE, and lo and behold, some of the "pastor's" cronies showed up to complain louid and long that their children had been traumatized by it, and "forced to act as slaves". This got press coverage, and then it also got coverage when the Black Panthers showed up and forced their way into the school to protect those traumatized children. No arrests were made, because of course not. But then, "pastor" Michelle called Va AG Herring (D, of Loudoun) and cried through her bullhorn about the children being "made to" act as slaves in the exercise she advocated for, promoted, and approved, and lo and behold, Loudoun was under oversight for civil rights violations. I had an idea of a dystopian future vigilante story where the left had taken over. The opening scene is a hero arriving too late to save a girl who commits suicide, pan down to a reporter talking about "choosing self destiny" and an abortion clinic next to a shop that buys fetal tissue. The big plotline was a group firebombing churches for being hateful and bigoted. I imagined all this in the 90s, trying to project what could happen if the crazy left at the time got full control. Its even worse now than I envisioned it. I didn't envision the mind control, the Wuhan Flu reaction, the corporation cave in to the woke agenda to the cost of profits, etc. But the lawyer thing, absolutely that would have to be part of such a world. The turning point was the Clinton impeachment. He had been caught lying, violated core feminist rules and therefore should have been forced to resign or be removed from office.
"The Simpsons" even had a bit where Al Gore was measuring the Oval Office curtains. When the truth came out, everyone thought he was done. But the Dems decided that power trumped principle. All of the rules of feminism were cast aside by the need for power. The ends justified the means. That came back to haunt them over Trump, but if you want a moment when our society shifted, that was it. Up to that point honor, truth meant something. Our entire system was built on unspoken rules. But at that moment, it was all about legalisms. Republicans might be shamed into leaving, but Dems from that point on had to be dragged out kicking and screaming. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. The next big experiment in destroying the kids is called the
XQ initiative. Funded by Laureen Jobs and promoted by Roslyn Ali (Obama dept Ed.) and Randi Weingarten. Kids are failing because the curriculum doesn't comport with the modern world as it is today. New and improved, the kids will decide how and what they want to learn and the teachers are really mentors, to guide them in their self selections. Think the Evergreen State college in Olympia. They've target three states this year, Idaho, Kentucky and Illinois. Our school district is sending teachers to learn this new curriculum to help the failing math scores. 1% are proficient at grade level. It's called math badging. *shrugs* I'm sure this will solve the problem. /s . Posted by: Derak at April 21, 2025 06:34 PM (/84wj) 150

I have a crazy conjecture - Pick some random demographic group readily identifiable by some readily observable highly visable physical characteristic. Treat them as some sub-human pavement apes incapable of controlling their animal instincts. Don't even try to influence them to have any resemblance of self-control. Excuse every objectively bad action as if they are incapble of not doing it. Make excuses for them. That everything is the 'others' fault. Get some of their 'own' to point this out, champion their own inferiority. Let's see how that works out for them. Yup, talking about the gingers. Even if the actual citizenry were on one page, the deep state is SO entrenched, SO entwined, tentacles wrapped around our entire gov't structure, all it takes is one election and whatever Trump will be able to do (and it's a bit dubious at this point, thanks to the judiciary), will unravel. As a matter of fact, as soon as the D's can win the next presidential election, by hook or crook, they will go wild. As we can all clearly see, things are pretty bad right now, despite what wins Trump has been able to eek out. YMMV Posted by: Lady in Black at April 21, 2025 06:38 PM (qBdHI) 157
And what little remained of the Republic and a Free People that was left after the Civil War was steamrolled, made to conform, to defeat the Red Menace.
Nobody won the Cold War. We just lost last. --- Starting in WWII, we were told--by both parties-- that we, and we alone, must sacrifice our freedoms, our economy, our livelihood, our money, and our future to save the world. Over and over again. And endless stream of crisis, war, and threats. Most manufactured, inflated or illusions. We are watching 80 years of constant indoctrination of "America last" dying violently. Lashing out. Massive wealth and power was accumulated. Stolen from us. You, keeping an extra $5 from your paycheck is a dire threat. You, having a say in how the thousands they extort from you every year is spent, is a mortal threat. You, voting for a politician who represents you is an unforgivable sin. You are an the enemy. You always were. Posted by: People's Hippo Voice at April 21, 2025 06:38 PM (5Hv8M) Posted by: yoeman at April 21, 2025 06:41 PM (j1QfB) 159
Was Maxine Dexter Miss Oregon at some point? I believe she's about as good as it gets in the Pacific Northwest.

The Waltons was cloying, and something was off about it. Good programming maybe, but Will Geer was a kiddie fucker communist in real life. I never did like him.

153 Pretty sure she would need an exemption from the Speaker to partake in any Votes, if she were to do so.

Confiscate cell phones at the school door.
They will have to segregate by sex. Boys and Girls are different. Co-ed instruction has too many distractions. And then ability groups. Expelling students who cannot or will not behave. It isn’t complicated, but it is not easy in the political minefield they have sown. Fuck ‘em. Get federal dollars out of education. More money just means more of what we already got. Get rid of the useless union drones, the sex deviants and incompetent ass clowns. Posted by: Common Tater at April 21, 2025 06:53 PM (MPpTK) 165

Wish I'd been more political back in the Bandi's volleyball days ... was "between causes. But it seems like lately you have gone harder into the MAGA range of articles. Seemed like before you were more "safe and methodical". But good to see your hard hitting commentary pieces of late (as I perceive them).
