  • Intel has entered "risk production" on its new 18A process. (Tom's Hardware)

That's 18 angstroms - 1.8 nanometers - in case you were wondering. Though it's just marketing; nothing about the process measures 18 angstroms.

Risk production is when a new process seems to work, but nobody has used it in volume yet. Hence the risk.

Intel cancelled its planed 20A process, so this will be the first time we see new features like gate-all-around transistors from them.

Tomorrow, road trip about two hours up Hwy. 90 and a visit to a Historic District. Friday, who knows.

28 Yesterday I took the iMac to a shop recommended by one of my former co-workers, and they called to say it was a simple fix. I'll pick that up on the way home and have fun setting it up this week. A big all-in-one screen should be nice to have after working with laptops here.

In tech news, I found that suddenly Adobe Creative Cloud, which means Reader as well as Pro, no longer works for me on this MacBook, because I am no longer covered by my employer's license. I downloaded a free program called PDFGear, and it works fine. I may have to do that on my Windows laptop as well.

A man whom I don't know but he is the father of a youngish ( compared to me, anyway) friend of mine is having spinal surgery today to have a non cancerous growth removed which is pressing on his spine. The growth is affecting his ability to walk and he so wants to walk his daughter down in the aisle at her church wedding in May. The man's name begins with a C.

The second one is for V. V has a sometimes verbally abusive, demanding boss. She likes her work and does well but she needs a new job. The guy probably needs to be retired.

May you have a restorative nap today, returning to bright-eyed and ready for anything.

And I want more bragging from you, young lady.

92 74 Real Genius, Willow, The Saint and Top Secret will always be my favorite Val Kilmer movies.

Seconded.

My favorite Top Secret scene is the introduction of The Resistance:

94 Good morning, good people, from the Adirondacks, where it appears spring is doing just that after many threats.

May all effort from you result in exemplary benefit on this and ALL other days, with commensurate heartburn for the bi-pedal leftwit fungi who infest us.

95 For awhile around here a few years back I used to say "I'm your huckleberry", when talking about Trump unpopularity with lefties. I admit now I stole the line from Val Kilmer (in Tombstone) who played Doc Holliday better than anyone, ever.

RIP VK.

PS: i heard an interview with him once wherein he said his first neighborhood job as a kid was taking care of Trigger at Roy and Dale Rogers house. Kind of a fun twist.

101 Happy Liberation Day!

This is the second time within an hour that I have seen someone crowing this. It must be the new lefty talking point.

I wish Trump were even half the dictator the Dems pretend he is.

103 Ok Salty, butvyou may have left by nowHere's a sort of a brag-and the people who are not a FenFan here, can now roll their eyes, :if they're awake. I was at Starbucks yesterday- hit the fainting couch now, folks😉 writing out some cards. There was a very tall, handsome guy young enough to be my son either working on a computer or talking on his phone. He was a customer. I said to him, "I hope you don't think I'm some weird old woman, but I just wanted to tell you how handsome you are. I'm not trying to pick you up or anything because I'm happily married." He smiled and said " You're gorgeous" I laughed and said "Well, not really, but thanks." I am trying to give a genuine compliment to at least two people I don't know everyday. It makes them feel better and me as well. Consider trying it if you don't already.
