Elon Musk Explains and Defends DOGE's Work

He says it's a very reachable goal to cut $1 trillion from the budget, per year. Not fake savings over the course of ten years as most GOPe fake-out plans promise.

No, $1 trillion cut, this year.

He says it's "very doable" and doesn't even involve the controversial calls and hard stuff, like cuts to Social Security.

Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) head Elon Musk and seven members of the team shed light on the department's cost-cutting mission in an exclusive sit-down interview with "Special Report" Thursday.
"We want to reduce spending by eliminating waste and fraud and reduce the spending by 15%, which seems really quite achievable," Musk told "Special Report" executive editor Bret Baier.
"The government is not efficient, and there's a lot of waste and fraud. So we feel confident that a 15% reduction can be done without affecting any of the critical government services."

How sad is it that 15% of one year's budget is $1 trillion.

"This is a revolution. And I think it might be the biggest revolution in government since the original revolution. But at the end of the day, America's going to be in much better shape," he said.
"It's going to be a fantastic future."
As of March 27, DOGE claims on its site it has saved Americans $130 billion, or $807.45 per taxpayer.

During the "Special Report" exclusive, Musk and the seven DOGE members illustrated key efforts of the department to achieve Trump's goal. Davis brought up federal credit cards, which he labeled a "mundane" but "illustrative" example of DOGE's work.
"There are in the federal government around 4.6 million credit cards for around 2.3 to 2.4 million employees. This doesn't make sense. So one of the things all of the teams have worked on is we've worked for the agencies and said, 'Do you need all of these credit cards? Are they being used? Can you tell us physically where they are?'" Davis explained.
"Clearly there should not be more credit cards than there are people," Musk responded.

The top DOGE official also argued that when critics "attack DOGE, they never attack any of the specifics."
"They'll say what we're doing is somehow unconstitutional or illegal or whatever. We're like, 'well, which line of the cost savings do you disagree with?' And they can't point to any."

Below, Musk explains that the entire Democrat attack line that he's "cutting Social Security to make poor old people go to Social Security offices to make changes" was a lie. What is going on, he says, is that fraudsters, many being foreign criminals working for foreign mafias, call into Social Security posing as retirees and con SS workers into re-directing their direct deposit checks into different accounts -- accounts controlled by the fraudsters, of course.

He's not stopping the use of phones to change where direct deposit payments go to save money or hurt seniors -- he's trying to make it harder for fraudsters to just get on a phone and get grandma's social security payments directed into his own account.

What is shocking is that he says 40% of calls made to these offices are for the purposes of fraudulent theft of seniors' money.

Feminists are making me actually sexist. I am coming to doubt that women, at least of the leftwing kind, have the capacity for rational thought at all. Here we are talking about reforming the government and cutting $1 trillion from the budget to keep us from going bankrupt and what Erin Burnett brings to the table is "Oh my God, I looked at the screen and successfully deduced the sexes of the people on the screen, and there were no women so that's bad."

This is what liberal women claim is analysis and intellectual review? Showing off the skills they learned when they were literally two years old in telling men and women apart?

And -- given the left's claims about gender, how do they even know these male-presenting males were not women? Maybe they are men who identify as women but choose to present as "genderfuck," a "gender" which exists to question your peasant notions of what gender even is?

DOGE's team, of course, consists mostly of engineers, particularly software engineers. Women self-select out of such careers. Liberal women prefer jobs like... newsreader.

I can't help noticing that when we talk about issues, the people talking about what's good for everyone tend to be white men. Whereas leftwing women are only concerned about how many Ratty Purple-Haired Lesbians are in positions of power, and minorities tend to talk only about how many minorities have jobs.

It's not my fault if the left has made itself into the party that literally never discusses the public weal generally, but only which constituent identity groups are "represented" and getting dip their beaks in the federal trough.

Pam Bondi has ruled out plea deals for Tesla terrorists.

On Thursday's broadcast of the Fox News Channel's "Ingraham Angle," Attorney General Pam Bondi said that, at her instruction, the Department of Justice will not engage in any negotiations on plea deals with anyone arrested for and charged for anti-Tesla violence.
While discussing a case in Las Vegas, [relevant remarks begin around 5:40] Bondi stated, "That was remarkable police work, working with the state police, our FBI, they have been going nonstop on this case. This guy is in custody. Laura, he is facing [a] five-year minimum mandatory, to 20 years in prison. And this was great police work. This guy thought he got away with it. So, these people better look out. They better cut it out. Because we are coming after you. And, at my direction, there will be no negotiating on these people."

That's a dangerous position, because leftists will engage in jury nullification, so if you don't offer a plea deal, leftists will just set them free.

And thereby signal that we are now in a state of civil war in which violence is now acceptable "resistance."

They continue to not understand that not only can the right play that game too, but we're better armed and physically stronger and many of us have actual military training.

They will learn, though.

People are being forced to spend time and money to replace their Tesla's branding with fake branding reading "PRIUS." That accounts says that lefties are changing the branding to protest Tesla but I think they're doing it so that other lefties don't destroy their expensive cars.

Leftists are racing ahead of people driving Teslas in order to slam the brakes on and force them to stop short. This is dangerous, obviously. They do this to annoy and threaten people. Sometimes they force Tesla drivers to stop on the highway, and then get out to film them or verbally berate them.

There's a video of one of these road rage Democrats repeatedly racing ahead of a Tesla and then slamming on the brakes. Ultimately the Democrat blows through an intersection and hits another car.

I was reading some stuff about this a while back. The logistics of a Mars "base" are not trivial. Using the Moon, which gets you outside the Erf's gravity well a good bit, has some advantages.

Another intriguing proposal was for a number of "way stations" in a heliocentric orbit between Earth and Mars, but closer to Mars. Imagine say 4 such stations, phased about 90 degrees apart (this would not be exact, and would vary, but this is the mental picture).

Now, doing that would allow a supply pipeline to be set up. As it now, you've got a launch window to mars once ever two years. This would expand that. You could launch from earth at much faster pace to the way stations. Then, from the way stations to Mars.

This could keep the supply chain going much better and be more fault tolerant.

The journey to Mars takes nine months, and we have already had individuals spend nine months in orbit. So it's possible to do it. Now perhaps a stint on the Moon at 1/6 G would help astronauts acclimatize to extended periods of zero G? Or maybe help them ease back in to normal gravity after returning from Mars?

I think Russia, ultimately, will lose the race - they are just losing too much too fast (losing 10 tanks a day, when you can only build 250 a year is not going to win comrade). But shit man, what happens when they lose lose?

The Brit Newspaper London Times had a project to determine Russian losses which counted graves and funeral announcements over the first 2.5 years or so which closely matched Russian numbers given out. So they 'changed their methods' and multiplied all the numbers by three.

Do you even follow the fighting? Ukraine has shown a lamentable tendency to attack at almost every opportunity with little success and high losses. Their grand offensive of 2003 failed so quickly that brigades of NATO armor had to be consolidated - 50 percent vehicle losses - in the first week or so. So instead they walked their forces to find the Russian front line for KM but were stopped in various small villlages where they were shelled repeatedly by Russian guns. By this time Ukraine and little Artillery left. When that offensive, which had no sensible goal and was announced months ahead to give the Russians time to fortify the area failed, they at once went back on the offensive.

Russian tactics are to move through the hills and surround fortified areas or towns and shell the bejesus out of them. They have developed huge FABs for real strong points that combusts the oxygen out of the fortification.
