Seven Republican Senators Anonymously Criticize JD Vance to Leftwing Hack "Journalist"
Update: JD Vance Calls the Sneaky Anonymous Critics "Cowardly"

From the article:

"Republican senators are privately expressing frustrations over Vice President JD Vance's suggestion in a leaked group chat that the Houthis are more of a problem for Europe than the United States and his voicing of doubt that it was in the U.S.'s interest to strike the Iran-backed group in Yemen."

https://jewishinsider.com/2025/03/vice-
president-j-d-vance-houthi-strikes-gop-isolationist/

Really a non-story as he was not supporting the houthis, he was saying that it was Europe's problem and the US has to stop coddling them.

Posted by: bob (moron incognitus)

Donald Trump, Jr. minces no words: He attacks these seven anonymous critics as "cowards" and "pussies."

Why can they not state their criticisms publicly?

The GOPe has long practiced these dishonest, cowardly tactics. Their agenda is unpopular and scarcely different from the Democrats', except that the GOPe wants to shower the Corporate Class with trillions of dollars' worth of government favors because it's only the corrupt donations of the Corporate Class that keep this crew in office.

Trump's agenda is mostly popular, and even where its popularity is shaky, as with tariffs, he and his allies talk about it openly.

Why can't these even Senators -- and let's face it, we're all pretty confident that it's McConnell, Tillis, Corwyn, the two-faced Lindsey Graham, Collins, Murskowski, and that other dingbat from Alaska -- do their actual jobs as senators representing the public and bring their criticisms and arguments to the public?

Oh: And that idiot neolib fairy from Utah, or maybe the ultra-liberal Bill Cassidy from Louisiana.

The answer is: Because they've never done that in their entire careers. Their entire careers have been spent lying to voters and keeping true to their Corporate Class masters. They tell public lies and private truths. The idea of actually bringing their real ideas and agenda to the public is anathema to them.

They literally think that's crazy-talk. Don't you know that real power is wielded steathilly, in the darkness, shielded from the prying eyes of the peasants?

They're all afraid that, because their agenda is unpopular and has been repeatedly rejected by the public in democrat voting, they will face, get this, consequences and push-back from voters for admitting their agenda.

Why yes. That's how the system is supposed to work. The public is supposed to have the power to influence policy by expressing its support or disapproval for policies.

These anti-democracy oligarch liars can only push their agenda through stealthy, dirty maneuverings. They can never just stand in the well of the Senate and say, "I dissent, and here is why."

You all remember when Thom Tillis encouraged Pete Hegseth's brother's ex-wife to make her scurrilous, evidence-free allegations, to give him the pretext he craved to vote against Hegseth.

But publicly, he pretended he was supportive of Hegseth. He only voted in favor of him because, coward that he is, he knew the voters would hold him accountable for tanking a Trump nominee.

Which is their right, of course.

It reminds me of Bill Kristol's concept of "civil discourse." He would attack Trump for criticizing GOPers in public, or to their very faces. That's not civil, you see.

"Civility," per Kristol and his gayops grifter, consists of lying publicly while planting nasty anonymous quotes against your enemies in the press and smearing them with fake "dossiers."

That's not civil. Trump's criticisms may be uncivil, but it's both uncivil and dishonorable and craven to spread your smears anonymously so that no man may argue against you.

Apologies: I never said what the criticism was. I wrongly thought it was encapsulated in the tweet I linked.

Update: Now JD Vance agrees -- the sneaky GOPe Gollums are "cowardly."

8 I see a relation here ...

Possessing a ninja sword is to be banned in the UK and carry a penalty of up to six months in jail, the British government said on Thursday, in a bid to curb what it has called a "national" knife crime "crisis." The Home Office said most ninja swords had a blade of between 14 and 24 inches (36 and 61 centimetres), with one straight cutting edge and a tanto style — or sharply-angled — tip. From August 1, anyone caught in possession of a ninja sword in private could face six months in prison.

106 >> So I'll state straight-up that I think that many people in MAGA are too isolationist, too.

In what way, and that’s an honest question. We’ve been taken advantage of by many nations who are closest to us. They’ve tariffed our products to block us out of their markets and when we apply equal tariffs we’re somehow now the bad guy. Notwithstanding we are also building new, better relationships with countries who share our values. Argentina and El Salvador come to mind. Likewise in Europe with Hungary and others. I don’t care for some of the schoolyard taunts to Canada, et al because it detracts from the real issues. But that said I’ve had enough of the Euros who seem to be coming a caricature of Soviet Russia. Ditto the crap that’s been going on in Canada. That’s not “isolationist” it’s moving towards countries who share our values and want to have a fair, bilateral relationship.

A Turkish man who forcibly took a woman to a park and raped her was not prosecuted.
Quote
@OhayoMybrother
Kawaguchi city in Saitama Prefecture has recently been accepting a large number of Kurdish people from Turkey under so-called refugee visas.
Today, the police announced the arrest of a Turkish national who allegedly lured a victim into a park and committed sexual assault on January 27. The prefectural police have not disclosed whether the suspect is Kurdish.
A similar case occurred in March 2024 when a Kurdish man was convicted of sexually assaulting a junior high school girl. While on probation, he was arrested again in September of the same year for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl.
This trend is undeniably deteriorating public safety in Japan, making it increasingly difficult for people to walk outside without fear.

I genuinely don't because we can take the pain from tariffs a lot longer than most of the rest of the world can.

If Trump wants action from another country, making them feel pain through tariffs is an effective tool to get them to see his way.

Besides, it's not like there are ways around paying tariffs, like getting more supply from another country that can happen pretty quickly.

161 Vance really doesn't hide his disdain for the EU, their bureaucracy, and the politicians in the nations there.

So it's not like it was a big shock when JD piped up with a complaint about having to bail them out again.

Trump had this same GOP guttersnipe problem the first term.

A lot of Republican senators believe they could do a better job as president than Trump and it shows.

The old GOPe guard has never respected Trump because he didn't have to climb the political ladder like they've done withtin the party.

Trump just came down the escalator in 2015 and proceeded to do a hostile takeover of the entire Republican party.

They resent him for it.
And they resent him even more because he's come back to win again in spite of them.

"No one is claiming (at least based on what’s been revealed so far) that Hegseth revealed the names of sources of intelligence or the exact addresses of targets, or that he identified the precise military units that would take part in the operation."

Therefore, Hegseth must be punished.

I would agree completely and only counter that with one thought. There is also a crowd that tags anyone who criticizes Israel as an antisemite. I don’t think thats intellectually honest either. Provided you have an actual factual basis for your argument, it sagacious. The Israelis, as any sovereign should, acts wholly in their self interests. I can tell you they are cunning people and they have to be to survive. I agree with much of what they do, especially in the Gaza Strip and West Bank. But it’s not beneath them and their intelligence agencies to do things that may drag us in on certain issues where it works to their advantage. Luckily we still have some good people at the agency who figure this stuff out. But nobody is to be fully trusted. That goes especially for provocateurs like Tucker who certainly is starting to sound like a closer antisemite.

A lot of them are ex-Ron Paul fans.
And Ron is not big on foriegn adventures or U.S. military bases on foreign soil.

A lot of those people are also against aid to Israel.
And while there may be some antisemitism there I think a lot of it is because of the endless nature of the conflict and the U.S. being blamed for supporting Israel at all costs.

They see the U.S. as subservient to Israeli interests in the middle east.

And, they have a point about some things.
Do we really need over 120 military bases in 55 countries?

Tucker reminds me of those guys who've gone down that path along with Paul and others over the costs of the U.S. being the world's cop for 80 years.

First, Monroe Doctine and make it clear no one outside of our hemisphere should be messing around here.

Second, partner with countries like Japan, So. Korea, Philippines, etc... as PARTNERS, not vassals, to contain China. That means helping them to stand on their feet, not just putting them under the US Nuclear Umbrella. We'll support them, but not fight for them.

Keep friendly relations, but there's no reason to be tied up in most other countries.

Why these three?

Well, Musk is a private individual with a LOT of money to lose. That is their hook there. They can only destroy one of his companies, tesla.

Vance is the heir apparent. No sense getting rid of trump without also getting rid of him.

Hegseth is considered weak because of his tattoos, and minor personal problems.

299 "Europe" does need to get its defense spending up to snuff, and Vance's point about "Europe" getting its act together is part of DJT's campaign for our allies to do their part for global security Right now, "Europe" is all Jaw Jaw about War War. But it remains to be seen if they have the will to keep even the neighborhood sea lanes open, much less deploy to the South China Sea or the Hormuz Strait without US deployments.

And Canada is seeking closer ties to "Europe" LOLOL. Greenland gave the Vances the cold shoulder, which means Greenland is now on the US sh*tlist. Greenland is in a tough neighborhood. And it's going to get touger. If the US is forced to defend the Arctic sea lanes, we aren't going to be nice about it.

306 245 So I'll state straight-up that I think that many people in MAGA are too isolationist, too. I can say this because I'm not a coward and also because I trust my fellow conservatives to argue in good faith if I offer a good-faith opinion.
Posted by: ace
___________________________

Isolationist is a broad term. Economically, I think we need to become more isolationist so as to rebuild those industries that have perished (textile, steel, chips, electronic). Initially, it would be more costly, but as competing companies enter the fray, prices would eventually lower. Energy, again, is an industry we need to become full isolationist. We have the natural resources to do so. It would require transferring our refineries over to light sweet crude instead of heavy crude. But, again, while prices would spike initially, they would come down eventually. Foreign policy is more tricky IMO. I'd rather see the US promote a philosophy where those countries most effected take the lead, and should the US contribute, it should be on a secondary basis, unless there is a direct effect and danger to US interests.

The Texas repub senators are pretty solid. I don't think any of them voted to impeach Paxton.

The house is dominated by 95 repubs vs 55 dorks. The problem is there are about 30 repub house members that will rotate among themselves and join dems by just enough to get the majority to kill bills in their chamber.

15 years ago it was the senate doing what the house up to now. Texans remember Fred Hill, the gop Senate Leader that was solidly dem.
